The Food Guy Caterer

Relish Catering (aka Food Guy) = delicious. My husband and I were not looking forward to having/getting to plan our wedding. We decided to start with what we were most excited about- FOOD. Our schedules are quite hectic at work and Lexi was still able to make it work. THEN, I totally messed up on ordering the number of AMAZING stuffed peppers. 2 days before the wedding, Lexi fixed it. The food tasted incredible and I am still receiving compliments about it. :)

Wonderful food, service and overall just a great vendor! I would recommend to future brides.

I felt that I had to repeat some of my communications to staff member, and sometimes they were harder to get a hold of... but at the Reception everything went well, and the food was AMAZING!

These guys are awesome!! The food is super yummy!!!! More than enough food, great quality, staff was top notch, beautiful presentation. I'm still dreaming about that mac n cheese and gourmet cheese platter.

The Food Guy provided a menu that was customized to our needs and the food was outstanding! We received so many compliments on how delicious everything tasted and we couldn't have been happier with our brownie ice cream sundae dessert bar.

The food gay had a wonderful product. The food was 5 star and they were on top of every detail of our day. Not only were they there to answer our question, but when our family was so busy with our day they took control.

Our food received RAVE reviews by all of our guests! Loved that the Food Guy is an all-inclusive catering company and that we were able to order all of our rental needs through them. On our wedding day I didn't have to think twice about anything, because The Food Guy has all of our needs covered seemlessly.

The staff that worked at our wedding reception was absolutely wonderful. They were very polite and even had some good moves on the dance floor at times. I have nothing but great things to say about them. However, management dropped the ball with us. We were told that desserts would be gluten free since we have several people with Celiac disease in our family and guests were told that they were not gluten free. We were also told that there would be someone there that knew the ingredients for all the food because we have lots of food allergies in the family and that was not the case. This was not very pleasing to find out from my guests later on since it was something that was discussed in great detail. We also had 3 different event coordinators that we worked with throughout planning since employees apparently kept leaving the company. When I was assured that the owner would make sure that everything I discussed with the original 2 coordinators would be taken care of, I felt comfortable that our needs would be met. This was not the case with information my guests were given. Once again, the wait staff were all amazing. I do not blame them for managment being disorganized.

Natalie Sears and the Banquet Wait Staff from The Food Guy were fantastic! Natalie was extremely patient, understanding, and very professional during the planning of the event in dealing with us and our couple of "Freak Out!" moments. Lol. She was able to remain calm and instill confidence on us that everything was going to be "ok". And it was.
The set-up for both the outdoor ceremony and the outdoor dinner were beautifully done. The staff's "magic" transition from ceremony to dinner set-up was incredibly fluid. The service of the Wait Staff during the event, we'd rate at a 4-Star, 4-Diamond. They took very good care of our guests, as well as of us. The food was absolutely to die for! My bride and I noticed that we did not see one single empty plate! Absolutely delicious!!!

We used the Food Guy catering for our wedding in July. Overall, it was just an ok experience.

My main issues with the Food Guy were:

1. We were charged for chairs that we did not need to rent as they were provided by our venue. When we asked why we were still being charged for the chairs, they just told us, "it will all wash out." What does that even mean? My dad just paid the bill without any further question.

2. After Karen, our catering manager and owner of the company left my reception, things pretty much fell apart. I had several desserts at my reception including a gluten-free option and my 3-tiered wedding cake where each layer was a different flavor. They would not allow my guests to eat the gluten-free dessert unless they absolutely needed gluten-free. The only tier of my cake that was served was the bottom tier. Before I left the wedding, I told my maid of honor to make sure that all we got all the leftover cake. My maid of honor basically had to force the server to give her the cake. Appearances indicated that the servers wanted my cake for themselves. At the brunch the day after my wedding, only the top tier made it. The 2nd tier was completely missing. No one ate it at the wedding.

The food at the wedding was hit and miss. We had a macaroni and cheese bar and that was amazing. Other than that, I'd say the food was just ok.

Overall, I wasn't really happy with the Food Guy. I just have to wonder why we didn't get all that we were promised.

The food was delicious! Natalie was great to work with, and was always very responsive to my questions.

I am so glad to have the Food Guy team for my wedding they were the glue that held it together.

I loved that I could design my own menu. I first I thought this was a daunting task, but being that this is what The Food Guy does, they patiently helped me make my wedding menu what I wanted to serve. My husband and I wanted our guests to experience the wonderful tastes we had while traveling the world together and The Food Guy made it happen! I loved that our menu was customize to us and our guest loved it too! The food was perfectly cooked the day of and their staff was very professional. Could not have been happier working with anyone other than The Food Guy!

We LOVED the food guy! Our appetizers and dinner was (non-biased I promise!) the best wedding food we have ever had, and our guests agree. It was plated beautifully and there was plenty provided; we were even able to take some leftovers home. We received many compliments on their food! Rather than plain, boring appetizers, they offer creative and colorful options -- we had a garden-esque variety of skewered vegetables and meats in a setting of wheatgrass. We did it buffet style and it worked out very well. Staff was friendly and professional. Thanks Food Guy!

The Food Guy was INCREDIBLE. They catered our wedding, and the food was off-the-charts amazing. The service was even better. Seriously, we cannot say enough about this company. HIRE THEM IMMEDIATELY!!! LOVED THEM!!!

My husband and I love The Food Guy! We first saw them at a tasting at our venue and then we saw them at other venues and bridal shows! They have the most amazing food! We sat down with Karen at our planning meeting and told her what we had in mind. She gave us some suggestions to help keep the cost down and the food tasty! My husband even asked her if they could make mashed potatoes his special way and they did! All of our guests raved about the food! We couldn't have asked for a better caterer! We would definitely recommend The Food Guy to anyone that wants great food at an affordable price!

The Food Guy was simply incredible!! They did far more than I ever imagined a caterer doing. The service was great!! Some of the friendliest people on the planet. They did so much to help make things easier on us and it was hugely appreciated. The food was beyond delicious!! Several people have asked us about them and we've gladly recommended them over and over again!!

We loved The Food Guy. They provided amazing food that our guests are still talking about (like at my husband's sister's wedding four months later...), and the customer service was great. They won us from day one by serving us an amazing meal without telling them what we were thinking for our reception. We ended up choosing that meal, of course, along with two others. All three turned out AMAZING. We had the Crudite (the edible veggie "scene") and a couple of passed hors d'oeuvres - everyone loved the Crudite! Natalie was our rep, and she did an incredible job of helping us with our wedding, even while she was planning hers. We really wanted to be as local as possible in planning our wedding, and Natalie reassured us that The Food Guy had been 'local' for years. They worked hard to make that a top priority for us. I would highly recommend The Food Guy to anyone for any kind of catered event!

We had a HORRIBLE experience with The Food Guy. We had worked with our consultant for a year, always being assured she would be at our wedding. Literally the day of our wedding, she elected to attend a different event and sent someone we had never met, who did not know any of the details that were to take place. They arrived 40 minutes late, delaying our reception. We had 50 family and friends setting up our venue (horrifying!). We had planned for pre-ceremony cocktails which never were served. We had asked for drinks to be passed during cocktail hour to avoid a long line at the bar ~ never happened. They prepared a completely different salad then we had agreed on. We had to clear our own cocktail tables for our first dance because they were no where to be found. I could go on and on. We met Tom, the owner, after our wedding and explained how upset we were. He was awful to deal with. He took very little responsibility. I'm only writing this in hopes that it never happens to anyone else. I highly suggest using a different caterer.

I hired The Food Guy because I was happy with their prices and with their service and presentation. The full service caterer removed so much stress from the wedding. They handled the rentals, cake cutting, and cleanup in addition to food and beverages. My groom and I were able to eat (seconds even) because they got our food for us. They cared about making us happy and making the evening go smoothly. Great job!

The Food Guy was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. Brittany Kress was our Event Designer and she was just wonderful! Brittany was available for anything I needed prior to the event and the staff that worked our event were friendly, professional and our guests loved them. The food was amazing, I had so many complements on the quality of food and I ate seconds! I would hire The Food Guy for any occasion, they are a great company!!

The Food Guy was fantastic. The food was delicious, and the experience was easy from start to finish. Although there were instances when response times were a bit long, and once not at all, everything was completed and nothing fell through the cracks. We had an unexpected setback financially only 3 weeks before the wedding, and they were very flexible with us, and helped us make the changes to make our budget work. We will always be grateful for that!

The food guy was amazing on top everything I tasted from them was amazing. I loved how they don't have a menu they get to know you and help you come up with a menu and food selection that fits for you. My and my husband love chinese take out and a movie and since our wedding was movie themed we had chinese food at our wedding and it was really good. The staff was very nice and professional.

I can't say enough about the Food Guy catering. You can tell they have been doing this for quite some time. They brought everything together at the reception and I did not have to worry about a thing. The food was SOOOO good. Everyone commented on how good the food was. I really appreciated the little details that you don't think about. They brought everything to the reception for us and set everything up for us. This was especially nice since we had our reception in Winter Park and we live in the Denver area. We dropped everything off the days before our wedding and picked anything up the day after. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Their staff was very professional and during the reception they mostly asked questions of the bridal party and I was hardly bothered at all and was able to thorougly enjoy my wedding. The price was reasonable and comparable to other caterers, but their services went above and beyond!!!!

The Food Guy catered our wedding and they did a great job. We wanted a unique menu and they customized it exactly the way we wanted. They even used one of my husband's recipes for a dish. We had a Caribbean /Jamaican themed dinner and every dish was very authentic and so delicious. We received a lot of compliments from our guests.

The day of the event they came late, since they set up the place made me really nervous. They did get it done before the reception, I wish they had been on time.
The short ribs were dry, the chicken portions were not big enough. We had a wedge salad that was boring, no bacon. The chicken really tasted good and so did the potatoes and veg. The service was great, the people were wonderful. The meal was bid out at a great price, but they charged 400.00 more for the rentals than it was supposed to be. They did do a good job in a lot of ways, just pay attention.

This caterer had great food. They charged extra to taste what you actually wanted for your wedding, so we didn't do it. Although we did get our menu tasted at several other catering companies. I have nothing but amazing reviews for the food. However, I will note that they sell themselves as somewhat of an event coordinator which they are absolutely in no way are not. Please do not rely on them to get things right and take care of your wedding day. hire a coordinator. They are not at all coordinated in that aspect, but I think they may try to be. Our event rental company sent several listings to them and things were still extremely screwed up - what can you do on our wedding day. The kids table was not at all where it should have been and we had guests waitning 30+ minutes to get a drink after our ceremony. I would highly recommend them for catering food services, however, they need a wedding coordinator to tell them how to "run the show". Please trust me on this

The food was AMAZING!! We still have guests calling us to tell us how much they enjoyed the dinner. Cindy and Tom, you really did an wonderful job and we can't wait to recommend you to all our friends!

The Food Guy was great! We had some of the best BBQ I've ever had, and my girlfriends and I had been excited since our tasting! Everyone was raving about the food at our wedding!! Cindy and her team were fantastic! Everything was very professional, and came off without a hitch! They even handled the linen rentals for me so I would have one less thing to do. I highly recommend The Food Guy, you won't be disappointed!!!!

We loved working with the Food Guy for our wedding. The food was delicious, the service was great. They were very helpful in creating a vegan friendly menu for some of our guests. Excellent choice!

This caterer was amazing before you booked them - and then during the actual event. But being able to contact them or receive a return phone call from them during the planning is impossible. They were told to charge the cc on file for the 50% down - then did not charge it - and tried to charge me a late fee when a week prior to the event they realized they did not have the $ owed to them 30 days prior. Ugh! During the event they were great - very attentive and excellent service. The food was pretty great too - good down home cooking and nothing too outrageous and weird.

The food provided was delicious and the servers were very helpful and worked hard through the night. Set up and take down were done on time and was well organized. The Food Guy also will bring you in for a taste testing of their food before you book with them, and I really appreciated having the chance to sample the product before dropping a lot of money on it. I had several communication issues with them. The were not timely in calling/emailing me back. A few times I had to leave several messages to get them to call/email me back and I feel like it got worse the closer the date got which made me really nervous. After I booked them, they made me feel bad about using disposable plates and silverware instead of upgrading to real flatware. I dont think I should have gotten snotty comments because I wanted to save $350. I also wanted them to alternate colored table cloths... but the ended up forgetting and only brought one color. Overall, I dont regret using them because the food was amazing, the servers were great, and the Food Guys is relatively less expenisve than many other caterers but if I could do it over, I probably would not use them again.

The Food Guy was very impressive at our initial tasting. They provided me, my fiance and mother with a full meal from salad to cake. We ended up chosing the salmon at our tasting for one of our meal options at the wedding and people loved it. Our other two meal options was a chicken dish and a tenderloin. People absolutely loved the tenderloin and declared it the best steak they've ever had. Granted we had to do three tasting of the tenderloin to get on the same page but they were very accommodating. Communication between myself and my coordinator was a little iffy at times. She was more responsive via phone than email but everything came thru in the end. The bartender they provided knew how to mix drinks, which was a relief to one of our guests who was a little nervous that he might have to step in. The staff were all very professional and quick. The chef is so nice and created such delicious food. We would love to know how he made the mushroom demi glace that came with the tenderloin. They also provide a lot of rental items free of charge, which we utilized by borrowing 15 of their glass vases to float candles in. They were pretty reasonably priced and I would recommend them to anyone that needs a delicious meal prepared for their wedding.

We were very impressed with everyone we met who worked for The Food Guy. The food speaks for itself, and their presentation at our reception was immaculate. We have had so many compliments on the food, and even requests for the recipe/menu. The only downfall to their service on our wedding day, was the fact that after our salads were served it seemed to be quite a while before dinner was actually ready to be served. But, without a doubt, I would hire and recommend this company anytime!

The food was nothing short of amazing. Our guests were raving about it all evening...which is why I gave The Food Guy 2 stars. They would have received 5 stars; however, we ended up losing our security deposit on our venue because they were out and cleaned up 1/2 an hour late. In our opinion, this was inexcusable...they were listed as a preferred caterer with the venue (meaning, they should have known the ropes about getting out on time), we were out at exactly the time we were scheduled to be, and they still had an hour after we left in which to clean.

When we contacted the caterer about the security deposit, they lied to us and stated that they were late because they had to clean up our florals. However, this is NOT true...we bought all the flowers and vases ourselves and were using them for the brunch the next morning. Mine and the grooms' parents cleaned up all the florals and vases before leaving, BEFORE the scheduled time we were supposed to be out. When we informed the caterer of this fact, they waffled and then later admitted they must have mixed up the events...however, they still didn't have an excuse for being 1/2 an hour late getting out of the venue.

We can understand if something unexpected came up that caused them to take 1.5 hours to clean up. However, because we were out on time and they had promised to also be out on time, we felt they should have compensated us for the lost security deposit, which they did not do.

Now they are refusing to meet with us as we have requested to discuss the matter. We were very disappointed with the customer service we received, though the food was amazing. If you are interested in great food and bad service...choose The Food Guy.

The best part of our wedding was our caterer. Not only is their food delicious but, they set everything up for us too. Cindy was so amazing. Unlike most wedding vendors where you are treated like a burden rather than a valued customer, everyone at the Food Guy treats you like a friend. I was always greeted with a hug! They are incredibly professional though as when the day arrived, everything that they were in charge of, went perfectly. I had no doubt that it would though as they were so good at easing my mind in times of great stress.

The Food Guy did a great job at our wedding, both through the delicious food and stellar service. The helped us create a custom menu that all of our guests absolutely loved. There were a few hickups at the end of the night, including that we didn't get our leftovers and that the charges were billed to the wrong credit card. If you use them, I'd go over this information beforehand so you don't have to worry about it on your big day. Overall, they gave us great food and service.

We booked The Food Guy based on great reviews and we weren't dissapointed. Our tasting was great and Karen was willing to change the menu to suit our likes and dislikes. We had a family style Italian meal with Ceasar salad, chicken marsala, fusili pasta and bolegnaise, grilled asparagus and assorted breads. Their price was great and fell in our budget so we booked pretty much on the spot. Since thier prices were so reasonable we were able to upgrade to the Damask Linens. *If you can swing it, upgrade your linens. They add depth and interest to your table and the centerpieces don't have to be as elaborate. Also, avoid white linens, especially if your room has white walls and ceilings.*

My favorite thing about the Food Guy is their willingness to set it all up. We were required to rent chairs for the ceremony and she took care of those rentals, the delivery and making sure they were set up. I also did all of the florals and decor myself so on the day of my Dad delivered everything and they set it up. *If you do this, leave detailed notes in your boxes with pictures, that information is invaluble to the staff and they will thank you for it* When I walked in the dining room it took my breath away. They were able to execute every detail I had thrown at them. The tables were gorgeous.

Staff: I have been a server for many years so my rating on them is the highest I can possibly give. The staff at our wedding was absolutely FABULOUS! My first interaction with them was when the girls arrived on site. One of the servers ran out to our car to tell me not to get out yet because they were in the process of moving the Groom to where he couldn't see me. Above and beyond what most staff would ever do. While I was waiting to walk down the aisle another server stood outside and told me when it was "safe" to come out and start my walk. He was so sweet. As soon as the ceremony was over and cocktail hour started they made sure I was the first to taste the passsed apps. Unfortunately I had the stomach flu so I didn't eat much, but they were good! The rest of the reception was great, they were always filling wine and checked with me before doing anything.

The Food Guy was highly professional and organized. When there seemed to be a hiccup, The Food Guy took care of it immediately without anyone ever knowing.

Healthy, delicious, filling, and not expensive. Great job!!!!!!

They were AMAZING!!!! They did a simple lunch like we asked for. They made little menus for the tables. They made sure the tables were as clutter free as possible. They even found me some toothpicks! They were wonderful! Everyone loved them and I would tell everyone to use them!

For the most part the Food Guy was great. Took care of small issues when they arouse the day of which was GREAT. Minor issues in contract as emailing back and forth did not work to well.

Food was delicious! Staff goes above and beyond to make sure you're as comfortable as you can be on your wedding day. I actually got to eat dinner on my wedding night, and I even had seconds. Everything was perfect!

The food at our wedding was delicious. The service was great, and many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed our dinner.

Karen and the rest of the staff was amazing, very responsive and flexible to any changes, and made great suggestion on centerpieces and food choices! Pricing is VERY reasonable, and they don't nickel and dime you. It felt like the reception ran itself - when in fact, The Food Guy staff essentially ran everything and made sure it was a worry-free and enjoyable experience for all!! I can not recommend them highly enough.

The food was and I heard nothing but great things from my guests. They also let us borrow centerpieces from them which saved us money. They get 4 stars because they were not so great with service. They didn’t release the table in order and when they went to the walk through they didn’t estimate table set up correctly so some tables had to be moved which messed up my seating chart. Also, after the wedding they called for payment, but we had already given them a card number to charge. I ended up having to deal with it for a while.

The Food Guy is wonderful to work with. We had a great time meeting with him for a tasting and to discuss our funky food preferences. He went out of his way to create a special menu just for us, and is very reasonable in terms of pricing. His staff made sure our reception looked great, and they made the best of a difficult situation we our event was unexpectedly delayed by a rainstorm. A great company!
