I used The Gallery for both my ceremony and reception and it was amazing! I LOVE the gallery. It fit with the feel I was going for and was really private and beautiful. The bridal suite is large and great! The groomsmen suite was also very large and had everything guys need!
They provided all the tables and chairs and had everything I needed for my big day! I truly was beautiful and LOVE this venue!
Perfect venue for a ceremony and reception that is intimate and romantic. Staff is great to work with and provide excelllent service. Would reccomend this venue to any bride.

Thank you for your review Jessica! We are looking forward to seeing the pictures from your beautiful wedding!
Beautiful place and friendly staff! Loved it!
The Gallery is beautiful and a really interesting location. Luckily we had great weather on our wedding day and had the ceremony outdoors. The place photographs really well also.
Beautiful venue!!! Tara and Christina are very nice and quick to respond. You are only allowed to get in to the venue 3 hours before your scheduled event start time and they are pretty strict on this. For us this made things kind of difficult as our ceremony was not at the gallery so our ceremony was starting at 4:30, but we could not get in to the venue until 3 pm (because reception start was at 6pm). Other than that they are very helpful with anything they can help with.
Great and gorgeous venue!
I had my wedding here in November 2012, and it was BEAUTIFUL! We chose this venue because it allowed us the flexibility of using our own vendor choices for food and beverage and had an indoor backup that we would have been happy with if it had rained on our wedding day. Luckily it did not and we got gorgeous pictures of our outdoor wedding! The Gallery's preferred vendor list guided us in the decision making for some of the other vendors we needed, and the choices we made based on those recommendations were excellent as well! This venue is beautiful and everyone I worked with during this process was excellent! I highly recommend having your wedding here if you want more flexibility in bringing in outside food and beverage and want a great look for your pictures. This place had everything I wanted: a wrought iron lamp post, an ivy wall, beautiful brick and tile, a gorgeous wooden bar, and an open ceiling on the dance floor.
Beautiful venue! So many wonderful places. I had my ceremony outdoors on the patio, cocktail hour upstairs at the bar and reception in the main hall.
Only downsides were no elevator for handicap to go upstairs, you have to use their alcohol vendors, and you have to provide EVERYTHING but chairs and tables. Plus there is no kitchen for the caterer.
Well worth the price for the beautiful building.
My wife and I had our wedding in Korea with our families and a smaller wedding reception in Houston with our friends. We had our wedding in Korea at the Hotel Shilla, which is one of the most expensive and prestigious wedding venues in Korea. I say this not to brag, but so that I can state the following - in having our reception at The Gallery, we experienced a level of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value, and flexibility that left us with the same level of satisfaction as with the Hotel Shilla. Granted, our reception here was of a smaller scale and less extravagant than our wedding - but in having our reception at The Gallery, no promise was unmet, no expectation unfulfilled, and nothing left us unsatisfied. All in all, I would recommend this location to anyone.
The Gallery provided us the perfect venue for our daughter's wedding reception. Tara, the venue coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. We loved the indoor/outdoor options for seating, giving guests the opportunity to step away from the music and dancing. When the rain came, one hour before the guests arrived, their staff scrambled to reconfigure our table layout according to our predetermined plan. Everything was still perfect and went off without a hitch. The 2nd floor bar is spectacular and guests loved looking down over the dance floor and festivities below. I also appreciated the simplicity of using this venue and that they included tables and chairs in the cost. Although they permit outside caterers, they have a very good working relationship with Cafe Natalie. Working with the two companies was seamless. The only suggestion I can make that would improve this venue would be a working elevator. Older guests could have used the upstairs had the elevator been working. Also, please note that you are only given 3 hours before the reception start time to decorate and set up. Thankfully, Tara was kind enough to work with us and gave us an extra hour. All in all, The Gallery was a tremendous value and we are thrilled we used them!
I received so many comments about the gallery. All of my guests loved it! The staff was always very helpful. Hurry and book it because dates go quickly!
The Gallery is a gorgeous place to get married or have your reception. The event managers are very kind and attentive. However, for the price you do not get as much as other venues provide. The space comes with the tables & chairs, ice service, and a team to set up & clean up is provided. Other than that you are on your own! This can be an advantage since you can search for vendors with in you budget, but this can also be stressful. I highly recommend getting a wedding coordinator if you book at The Gallery--it will be a life safer!
Could not have picked a better place to have my wedding. Pictures turned out beautiful due to the warm colors of the venue. I was on a strict budget and they really worked with me to cut costs.
I really liked the flexibilility that the Gallery offered. The staff was very helpful in helping us visualize our ceremony. Every question I had was answered quickly.
We absolutely loved the venue the first time we saw it, and the second time. Tara and Cristina were an amazing help and answered every single question that I had...and I had lots! It was everything we wanted and more. Elegant and cozy is what we wanted and what we got! Someone said that it was like waliking into a story you heard as a child! All of our friends and family were pleasantly suprised to see what an amazing fairy tale it became! We absolutely loved it! Thanks for helping us make this the perfect wedding night and one that everyone can...
My venue had a mediterrean feel to it. It was gorgeous!! You have the whole facility for your special day so that made it easier for you to get through your day. The staff was very helpful. They will help you accomplish your goal of making your day awesome and beautiful. I would recommend this venue to anyone that wants to have a vintage feel to your wedding. I LOVE THE PLACE!!
Our wedding was here on November 18th 2011 and I LOVED it. The ladies that work there were so nice everytime I would call with questions and I love how they help you for the ceremony. One of the reasons I loved this place is because I got so much space and with that I also got to bring in ALL of my own vendors and I planned and put together every single detail myself and I saved soooooo much money! I think my wedding looked like it cost a lot but in reality it didnt! SO glad I could have my dream wedding here! :)
The Gallery is simply an amazing package of uncontrived beauty, sophisticated simplicity, and service. And our experience with them was simply effortless. We got the best of the best in all forms for our wedding, we are convinced. Although the venue was booking up very quickly for the timeframe we wanted, even over one year in advance, I NEVER felt like "another number" or felt neglected or ignored. The Gallery was absolutely perfect for the setting we were looking for: intimate, classy, was not going to need a lot of extra decor at all, and beautiful grounds surrounding it for photo ops. It simply "fit" us. And I cannot explain how helpful Tara and Christina were in helping me make decisions about things during the process, from advice on vendors to placement of props/tables/etc. And their vendor recommendations were excellent! I don't think there was ever an email sent to them when I did not receive a reply within a couple of hours max. How many brides get that kind of attention and service from their venue?! Not many, and I know because I have heard the horror stories!
For what they do and include in the package, and the service and attention they give their couples, it is EXCELLENTLY priced I must say! It is almost like you get wedding coordinators included as well.
We have had so many compliments from our guests on how absolutely gorgeous the venue was. And the best things for me was that, as I said above, it required basically no added decor! I didn't use a florist at all (just bought 3 dozen long stemmed roses, some for my bouqte and some to line the aisle with); The Gallery is perfect with a few lanterns and candles! I have not gotten the professional pics yet, but from the pics friends and family have shown me, the minimal decor we used compliments the venue and the venue color scheme beautifully. And I certainly thought that in person! I could not have asked for more!
If you are looking for a venue where you have complete freedom to create the wedding of your dreams - this is the venue for you!
We had the best year of planning. The Gallery was so helpful, always quick to respond, kept up with updates - it was so easy!
I received so many compliments on the venue. Nothing feels better than hearing from guests how gorgeous the venue was, how is was so romantic, the most beautiful wedding they had been to....it goes on and on. I will say we chose the Gallery for that reason. The venue itself is gorgeous. We didn't want to have to add and decorate to make a place look good - we wanted a place that did most of that on its own. We were blessed with an amazing florist so with that and simple elegance of the gallery our wedding was magical!
The gallery gave us the most special and perfect night of our lives.
I can't thank or recommend them...
This place is BEAUTIFUL! Tara and Kristina were so sweet and made sure that everything was perfect for our big day. This venue supplies tables and chairs, but everything else is ala carte, which is what I loved--I could REALLY make our wedding exactly how I wanted to and had the freedom to find outside vendors. But honestly, this venue is stunning and absolutely breathtaking at night!
The Gallery provided a perfect venue for our wedding. The sunny weather & the beautiful magnolia tree provided the perfect natural backdrop for the outside ceremony, and the unique 2-level building was perfect for the reception. This venue is just the right size- small enough to seem intimate, not cavernous, yet big enough to host 150+. I've received nothing but compliments.
The Gallery was the perfect place for our fall wedding. My fiance and I were looking for a romantic ceremony and reception location that wasn't over-the-top, and The Gallery fit the bill. The dark woods and brick accents were a perfect, subtle backdrop, and were also easy to work with in terms of our wedding colors. Highlights were the very helpful staff, the affordability, the beautiful bar upstairs and the unique architecture of the second floor that let the guests look down onto the dance floor below. (We hung lanterns in this area and it looked great!) Sometimes the staff are a little hard to get a hold of on the phone or via email, but we would receive responses within a couple days. I'd recommend this space to anyone getting married in the Houston area!
The Gallery could not have been abetter venue for my wedding! The staff is incredibly helpful and kind - I was constantly emailing them questions and they always answered promptly with very detailed responses.
The venue itself is gorgeous. It needs little decoration because it already has its own unique style. There are many areas all over it that make for wonderful pictures.
I really could not have asked for a better experience with a venue!
The Gallery was the perfect venue for my wedding! My husband and I immediately fell in love with it and booked our date during one of their open houses. They only hold limited business hours, which is the reason for 4 stars in Responsiveness, but when they were open they were prompt and polite. We were very pleased with the staff when rain was imminent for our outdoor ceremony - they were completely willing to change plans for us as the weather changed throughout the morning and even had our indoor backup plan in place when we arrived. Overall it was a perfect experience working with The Gallery!
Excellent Venue to host a wedding especially an outdoor event. The setting, look and feel of the place was wonderful with lots of options on where to have the wedding. I would recommend this venue because you have so much freedom to choose your vendors. Loved my wedding at this location and couldn't have asked for better.
The Gallery is BEAUTIFUL!!!! It, in my opinion, is the most authentically beautiful place in Houston with the best price. I did get jacked for having my wedding on a holiday weekend, it was 1k more, I thought that was lame (we didn't necessarily want that weekend but they we're booked for almost a year out). But, it really was worth it. I want to get invited to a wedding there so I can enjoy it more (It's chaos on your own day).
It was sucky they didn't provide anything (coordinating, vendors, etc.) and we had to do everything but I had a friend coordinate the day of for me and that put me at ease. DO NOT go with this place unless you have a coordinator!!! Even if it's just a friend who is helping you. You don't want your family or wedding party, or even you, worrying about where the linens go at the end of the night. Let someone else do it, otherwise it will ruin your time.
BEAUTIFUL place and their prices are worth it (you won't find anything cheaper in Houston with that beauty and that great central location).
I absolutely loved The Gallery for our wedding. It was clean, the maintenance men were helpful, and they let us hang out there all day to get ready.
One negative: Tara was gone on maternity leave and her temporary replacement was sick on the day of our wedding. If it weren't for my day-of coordinator, we would have been completely lost on what to do. It seems like a one-time thing, but we would have appreciated having someone to help our coordinator during the event.
I absoultely loved The Gallery. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It is extremely unique and allowed for us to be really creative in planning our wedding and reception. It is not at all something you would expect to find in Houston. Tara was always very helpful and made sure we had all of our questions answered. We were able to wander in during the day and take measurements, draw up plans, etc, without being disturbed. It was really a fantastic venue.
Beautiful place, lovely staff, and overall great place.
This place was perfect for our reception. When decorated with flowers and candles it really gives a romantic vibe and unique atmosphere. Tara was great during the year of planning, very responsive and helped me find other vendors for catering, dj etc. The cost to rent the place was very good compared to other venues. This is also one of the few places where you don't have so many restrictions on candles and sparklers.
I strongly recommend The Gallery to anyone who wants a rustic and unique fun atmosphere.
Below is the email I sent to The Gallery. I probably would have overlooked most of the issues, but the incident with the maintenance man was the straw that broke the camel's back. While the manager and owner did apologize, the owner said they were on autopilot and needed a wake up call now and then to make sure things were right. However, during my research before booking, I had come across a review or forum posting where another wedding couple's family did the cleanup and experienced the same problem. I should have paid more attention. Also, it looks like another Weddingwire poster (LibbyNicole) had the same thing happen in March. So just a warning to other couples...
I almost forgot about the ants. During the rehearsal on the patio, several of us got bitten by ants. We notified Tara, and she said they would get the area sprayed. We continued amidst the biting. I believe that nobody got bitten the next day during the actual ceremony, so I think the area was sprayed. I guess just bring a can of Raid with you to the patio rehearsals.
I just wanted to give you more feedback about The Gallery now that I look back on the experience. I received a call from the owner on Wednesday, also apologizing for the experience. I gave him most of the feedback verbally but also wanted to send this email.
First, Tara, I do want to thank you for all of your help and attention leading up to the event. You answered all our questions and were very accommodating when we wanted to visit The Gallery to check on other logistics. I always found it very pleasant to work with you. We appreciate that you and the Gallery staff let us setup during the day on Friday before the event. The staff that day was friendly also. Thanks for jumping quickly on that strange burning smell during the rehearsal. That was alarming.
Next, there are issues with the overall maintenance of the building and tables that I should bring up. Of course, that burning smell is one of them. You may recall that we asked for your help concerning tables staining the tablecloths we had put on during the Friday setup. We found out that many of the tables had candle wax and other cake remnants on the tables, so we ended up having to try to clean the now stained tablecloths using your kitchen. The bathrooms don't seem to get air circulation and have a strange odor in that section of the building. The ladies room has at least 3 stalls without any locks.
Months ago, when my mother took a tour of The Gallery, she noticed the condition of the carpet on the indoor stairs and mentioned it to you, suggesting that the carpet be cleaned. I appreciate that later at an open house event, you told me that the carpet had been cleaned. Still, even after that I do have to admit that the carpet still looks bad. The toilet handle in the bridal room should be changed out, since after flushing, you need to jiggle the handle to make sure the stopper closes in the tank. Otherwise, the toilet will just keep running. Also, thanks for letting us use the refrigerator in the groom's room, but it was very dirty.
The gates at the stairs to the patios are hazardous and should be better secured, especially since it is so windy around the patios. I found out that one of the guests was going up the stairs next to the planter box and hit his head on the swinging gate. Luckily, he did not have any serious injuries, but that could have been tragic.
We like that The Gallery provides 2 security guards for the event, but they sure were lazy. Our event time was 6 pm to 11 pm, and our bar closed early, around 9:45 pm. Many guests started leaving around the 10 pm time. My uncle, who works for the police department, thought that any police officer with common sense would come downstairs, show themselves outside wearing their police uniforms to deter any would-be thieves, and perhaps take a brief walk through the parking lot to make sure nothing suspicious was going on. Police officers who work security details at other locations typically stand guard outside to make themselves visible. These guys were just sitting up at the empty bar, chatting away, oblivious to anything else going on around The Gallery.
Imagine how awful it would be if someone were attacked in the parking lot during an event at The Gallery, and witnesses rushed to the main area for help. "Oh, let me get the security guards who are sitting upstairs next to the closed bar!" Of course, by that time, the crime would have already happened and probably the attacker would be long gone. If I were paying these guys around $30 an hour, I would expect them to do more. I'm just warning you that you are not getting your money's worth.
The policy about paying $500 for an extra event hour is not very clear. I remember asking you earlier if we had to make the decision at the time of paying our deposit. From your answer, I thought we could determine that on the day of the event. I'm not sure how it would actually happen, since we didn't see any staff at our 11 pm official end time, only the security guards who finally decided to come downstairs and tell us to shut down. Then, we never saw them again.
So, we shut down the music, and the guys started packing it up. The girls wanted to take a few more pictures, and then my sister and I went to the bridal room to change and gather our belongings. Well, five minutes later, the maintenance man busted in yelling loudly, "Hey, get out!" We were stunned. I found out a few minutes later that the same thing had happened to the groom when he went to change in the groom's room. He was so startled, he left the room but had not gotten to change. So, he ended up loading and cleaning up the rest of his equipment still wearing his suit. The rest of the guys were still breaking down the equipment, so their belongings were still in the room. There had been no point in yelling like that when it was clear we were all working to clear things up. Aaron could have quickly and easily changed, probably being more efficient in the clean up later. I ended up being the one to clear out the groom's room, making several trips to get each groomsman's bag out.
The guys and girls had taken out most of the equipment onto the breezeway. We didn't even get to clean up more, since the maintenance man was so impatient to get us out of there. Then, we were in the breezeway, ready to take our items to the cars, when he turned off the lights on us. First, of all, that's dangerous. He wanted us to walk around in the dark. Second of all, how were we going to see our items to take them away? After the first and second person took their turns in pleading with him to turn on the lights, finally after the third person, he decided to turn on the lights. I tried to tell him that we still were allotted more time for cleanup, but he said that we were playing around and hadn't been cleaning up. Well, we had started the cleanup process in happy moods. We left by midnight, with plenty of our 2 hour cleanup time still available, in less than the best of moods.
So, yes, we could have and did cleanup quickly, but we could have done so without the surly yelling and meanness. I never treated anyone at The Gallery or any of the people I worked with during the whole wedding planning process the way he treated us. Even when things were not going right, I always treated people politely and with respect, as human beings. Even if it was a 1 hour cleanup, and we were taking too long, there is still no reason to treat people like that.
Tara, I appreciate your apology and the owner's apology, but there really is no excuse. You mentioned that he had been there since 8 am and was probably tired, but that seems wrong also. We had been up early also. He shouldn't be working that long anyway. The owner also mentioned a language barrier, but language was definitely not an issue. He could understand us, and we could understand him. Some of us could speak and understand some Spanish. He just didn't care.
We chose The Gallery for its interesting layout, spaces, and flexibility. We thought the architecture was romantic, and we liked what was offered in the Information sheet. I defended The Gallery even when family members pointed out its flaws. Well, now I'll take off those rose-colored glasses and lay out the flaws for you all. Hopefully, something good will come out of it.
Vendor response to review
Once again thank you for your feedback. I assure you that all of your concerns are being taken to heart and addressed properly. Several of your points can easily be explained, however as we have said, there is no excuse for being rushed out early at the end. The maintenance staff was frustrated, since no one was helping to clean, 1 hour into your 2 hour clean-up time. He should have called me and I would have cleared up any miscommunication and allowed you to continue undisturbed. Beyond that, I feel that your wedding went very smoothly, and perhaps, when someone is looking for a reason to dislike the facility, it's easy to see small flaws. We are working on those. Again, thanks for your feedback, and I wish you all the best.
I absolutely love this venue. Immediately after meeting with Tara and taking a tour of the facility my fiance and I knew we had found the perfect place. The Gallery offered an alternative atmosphere to the regular ballrooms. The day of our wedding everything looked spectacular.
They were really great in getting everything set up and helping us prepare for the wedding. Allowed delivery of items the day before for us which was great and the staff was really in helping us get everything together
Our wedding at The Gallery went beautifully. Tara, the venue manager, always responded quickly to my email, and set up the tables and chairs exactly as we requested. The site was clean, easy to work with, and lovely. We ended up having a beautiful spring day for the event, so both the ceremony and brunch were outside, with the kids' room, cocktail hour, and food inside.
I had only one small gripe at the very end - the cleanup crew rushed us out very quickly - more quickly than I thought we had to be out based on our contract.
Still, the site provided tables and chairs, which saved us money. We didn't have to rent a tent or anything like that - if it had rained we could easily have moved inside. Everyone complimented us on the site and we had a great time there.
I loved this place.. so romantic... getting married there was wonderful... elegant and not expensive at all
Was everything I had imagined it would be. From the beautiful ceremony out on the court yard to the reception. All very romantic. Tara did a wonderful job as our coordinator. Highly recommended. Was not disappointed in the least.

The Gallery was beautiful. The wedding coordinator there, Tara, was very helpful and was prompt in her responses. I felt like it was a wonderful place to have our wedding and couldn't have asked for more~
