The Grand Meridian

There was some confusion about how many tables we needed and how they needed to be set up dispite several phone and face to face meetings. The food was very good and reasonably priced. All of our special requests were met. We did not use this venue for our ceremony.

My husband and I eloped in April of 2005, but of course all of our family and friends wanted to have some kind of celebration for us. My parents decided to foot the bill and throw us a wedding: ceremony, reception and all. Since our decision on the date was rather last minute, we thought it would be impossible to find a good venue. However, the Grand Meridian was new in the town and had bookings for the next couple of years, but not many for 2005.

I was absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity and friendliess of the owners/managers and all of their staff. They went out of their way to set up the hall exactly how we wanted it -- no questions asked. They gave us their ideas with no pressure to do things their way. The interior of the hall is beautiful, with grand chandeliers and Italian murals on the walls. They set up round tables for all of our guests, and a long table at the front for the wedding party. They have a kitchen attached to the facility and provided all of the food, which was fantastic, and the servers were outstanding. Everything that was requested was done timely and with genuine generosity and excitement for the event. Just inside the entrance is the bar -- placed in the middle so as many people as possible can be served. The bartenders were excellent.

After the dinner, servers discreetly moved the head table back and cleared the dance floor. They had plenty of room for our DJ to set up and still have a large area for dancing. The lighting was perfect -- dark enough for proper dancing but light enough so the people still enjoying their champagne and dessert could see just fine.

The highlight of the night was the screen they provided us -- it is very large and inlaid into one of the walls. I compiled photos of my husband and I, from both of us separately growing up, to our first meeting (at 15!) until the present. I was able to hook up my computer to their screen and play these pictures all night. You wouldn't believe how many compliments we received on the slideshow -- everyone loved it, and the screen was not directly centered in the wall so it didn't become an absolute focus for the guests, it was just a lovely background slideshow.

After the wedding, the owners invited us to their weekly Sunday brunch anytime, free of charge. As a new business open in Appleton, I highly recommend supporting their amazing facility. It was what made our wedding great! Many of our friends and relatives told us that our wedding was the most fun wedding they had attended -- I believe this was greatly influenced by the fantastic venue. I very highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting a beautiful, well-maintained and professional (yet fun) setting for their wedding. Perfect for that once-in-a-lifetime event!

The Grand Meridian is a spectacular facility. I had my wedding there in the outdoor patio area and our reception in the ballroom that is connected. Everyone involved did an amazing job for us from the beautiful décor to the excellent food! We highly recommend having ones wedding at the Grand Meridian to everyone.
