The Grandview

I am beyond happy that we booked the Grandview for our wedding. Everything went absolutely perfect. We got married in the outdoor ballroom and it was so beautiful. Victor was our maitre d for the day and Kristen was our head waitress. Every time I came back to the table from the dance floor I had a new drink waitinf for me so it was fresh. We heard from all of our guests that they have never had such good service at a wedding before. We also are still getting compliments on how great the food was and how beautiful the venue was. They set up everything exactly as I had asked and it came out perfect. They even opened up early so that I could get ready in the bridal suite, since the makeup artist wanted to start at 8:30. I cannot say enough great things about this place.

The Grandview is a total package. When you book with them you know you will have a great day no matter what. The amount of food that is included is incredible, people thought the cocktail hour was enough food for the night! They really make sure that you are taken care of the entire night. My dress bustle kept coming undone so but they had safety pins on hand to help pin it up, my champagne glass was never empty and we never got a chance to even sit for dinner (too much dancing) so they had it boxed up and sent home with us! Again, they really go above and beyond for you to really make your day as special as possible.

Beautiful location, amazing food and cocktails, and impeccable service! Our event manager Brent was such a pleasure to work with. He met with my family on several occasions to answer questions and discuss details of the event. We had a fusion Hindu-Christian wedding, and he was so patient and accommodating to our many requests. The staff was very attentive to the guests and the members of the bridal party. There was always someone checking in on me to make sure I did not go hungry or did not have an empty glass in hand! The food was abundant and delicious, and they had an incredible dessert display created for us. Despite the bad weather, the event turned out to be beautiful. We received several compliments on our wedding, and many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding! I could not believe how beautiful they made the cocktail hour and ballroom for the wedding! They were extremely attentive to all the guests and members of the wedding! Also, the food was phenomenal!

The Grandview was a wonderful venue for our big day. They made the planning process super easy and our planner, Sarah, was always available or quick to respond to our questions and concerns. They are able to do a surprising amount of customization for your wedding day. My only complaint about the planning process is probably very unique to us; Sarah left the Grandview within a week of my wedding day. We had our final planning meeting one week before (I got a weird feeling something was up) but then on our wedding day I was told she no longer worked there and another planner would be working with us. Our new planner was great, I just wish the General Manager had been the one speak to us about this major change!
No other venue in the area compares to the Grandview when it comes to its beauty, great food and outstanding service. It’s a gorgeous venue, providing remarkable backdrops for all your photos. The food was amazing and our guests are still raving about it. The best part of the day was the service – the bartenders and servers go above and beyond to make everyone of your guests happy. There is one server assigned just to the couple and in our case that was Lacey. Lacey was one of the highlights of our day, making sure we had everything we needed, keeping our food warm while we were taking pictures and doing so many little things I probably don’t even know about them all.
The only negative part of our wedding day was the Maître d’ Scott. Prior to the ceremony that we had on that patio adjacent to the tent, he did nothing to direct guests to where they needed to go. Not only that, he was extremely rude to my mother when she asked for his assistance in helping escort my elderly uncle who uses a wheelchair. Then when cocktail hour ended and the reception began, he told the DJ to wait 30 minutes before doing introductions so the dinner orders could be taken. This was not how I wanted and thankfully my DJ double checked with me and did the introductions anyway....

We can't thank the Grandview enough for making our wedding a beautiful, fun, and perfect day! The wait staff and management are easy to work with, professional and always there to help you out! They just make it super easy for the bride and groom to plan and enjoy themselves! We got married on the outside terrace overlooking the Hudson. Breathtaking views! The floor to ceiling windows brings lots of light and pretty views to the inside cocktail hour space and reception hall. The food was delicious and there was lots of it! We couldn't of been happier with our choice! Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful experience from the very beginning. Everything was well organized, professional, and beautiful. The staff members are exceptionally courteous and aim to please. Guests were very impressed by the food, atmosphere, and the service. We had a great time at our wedding!

The Grandview made our wedding day a dream come true. From the planning to the execution it all went fabulous. The food was amazing, the service was above and beyond. Our maitre d' Victor and head server Vanessa really made our day go very smoothly. Several of our guests told us that this was one of the best weddings that they had ever attended. We had an outdoor ceremony that was so beautiful and really added to our amazing day. The value for your money at The Grandview is above and beyond, I do not think we could have picked a better place for our once in a lifetime experience. Everyone loved The Grandview that came to my wedding. I recieved compliments all night as to how great the food was, how much of it there was. Also, how great the staff was and the absolute beauty of the place. I wouldn't have gotten married anywhere else! They were also extremely accomedating about my gluten free needs. Awesome place and people!

Grandview was a great venue! The service was amazing and the place is beautiful! They really worked with us and took care of everything! The staff was acommodating and professional. The only downside was some up-charges I thought that should've been including and the Poughkeepsie Grand hotel rooms - only allowed to block out certain # and didn't notify when close to sold out. 2 small downsides. Overall it was an amazing place, i loved the venue and got a ton of compliments!

If you are looking for a venue that will take care of everything from start to finish so you don't have to worry about the big day, then the Grandview is the place for you! I had my wedding the ballroom and have absolutely no regrets! The service was the most amazing part.

We signed the Grandview to host our wedding for several reasons and they came through on all of them. They gave us the best value for our dollar and they gave my husband and I peace of mind that they would do everything in their power to make our event a stress free success. The day of their service was excellent, many of my guests felt compelled to tip their waiters because they did such a great job, I didn't hear one complaint about the food and one of my guests said it was the best wedding he had been to all year! He had already attended three others, one of them being in Italy, if that isn't a compliment I don't know what is. What was most valuable to me the bride came from my maitree'd the day of. It was set up to have my ceremony on the back patio and sure enough it was a cloudy day with on and off showers. It meant a lot to me to have my ceremony outside and they allowed me to make that final decision as to where the ceremony would be held. They armed me with weather facts and alternate plans, should it down pour during our "I do's" or lightning. I made the call to have it outside as I had envisioned all along and it went perfect! Thank you Grandview for allowing me to have my picture perfect wedding day, my husband and I couldn't have asked for more.

The Grandview was AMAZING! If I could have rated them higher than 5 stars I would have. We planned our wedding in a short amount of time - 6 months from engagement to wedding. We looked at a few places and went with the Grandview as an easy decision. Not only was the venue gorgeous, but the professionalism of the staff was readily apparent from the very beginning. They answered any and all questions we had, informed us of things before we could even ask sometimes, were very organized, and made us feel special even though they do an incredible amount of weddings. We also planned the wedding (with the exception of scoping out venues) from over a long distance... we live in Virginia. Knowing that I had a venue that was on top of everything, that I didn't have to nit-pick and that I knew would handle everything was absolutely priceless. Nicole responded to all of emails in a very prompt manner and was always polite, professional, and helpful.
Then the wedding day came and I was blown away again - as were all of my guests! Each table had their own waiter, which surprised most people, in a good way. The food was out of this world, and the cake - OMG the cake was fabulous! The ceremony and rehearsal were well-organized and came out beautifully, and the reception was just wonderful. My mom's friend (who tends to be critical) was so impressed by the entire event and told my mom that she thought we must have spent over $200 per person, which we definitely didn't! We had a Sunday afternoon wedding in the outdoor ballroom which, including the ceremony, was about $100 per person (before taxes and gratiutity). Amazing value for such an incredible experience. My sister said she might "steal" my venue when she gets married in the future too - everyone just loved it so much. I am so grateful to Grandview for everything they did to make the day worry-free and fantastic!

Absolutely amazing. The staff at The Grandview goes above and beyond to ensure that you are taken care of in every single way possible, making your wedding day a relaxing, fun and easy experience. The venue itself is beautiful, with amazing views and atmosphere. The food was delicious--not your typical wedding food that everyone expects to be sub-par. All of our guests are raving about how good everything was and how attentive, professional and friendly the staff was. From the time when we first booked this venue until the end of our evening, we were impressed by the level of service and how much assistance we were given by everyone at the Grandview. I am so happy we decided to get married there!!

The Grandview made our wedding day the most spectacular day of our lives. No detail was overlooked by the staff, and we received so many compliments from our guests on absolutely every aspect of our reception. We can't recommend this venue highly enough!

Amazing venue- not only beautiful but the staff is amazing. They truly handle everything and allow you to relax and be special on your day. The food and service was fabulous and everyone raved about what a great wedding they got to be a part of! HIGHLY reccommend!

I paid for an additional filling for the wedding cake, which was delicious.
However, the size of the slice was unbelievable- it was PAPER THIN. No one could believe that cake could be sliced so finely. It was a definite negative and an embarrassment to us. It marred an otherwise lovely event. There was nothing that I could do at that time to counteract those slices..... What a way to end a wedding.....
Another major annoyance: at the cocktail hour I had paid an additional charge to serve a roasted leg of lamb at the carving station. Yet, when I approached this station, the lamb was nowhere to be found. You had to ASK for it- and, that was only if you KNEW it was available. Not a good move on the server's/Grandview's part.

I have nothing but praise for The Grandview! I'll just list out all of the great things about this venue: Service - all staff members must go through intensive training because I have never experienced service like this. Anything you want or need they can accomodate for you. Examples - during our tasting they had a Viennese hour with desserts, liquors, cappuccino etc. A waiter came up and asked if he could get me anything and I explained that I wasn't drinking and I didn't drink coffee. He asked what I'd like and I said I'd really like a hot chocolate. Five minutes later he returned with hot chocolate. He had left the building and gone next door to get it. At our wedding, my guests couldn't stop talking about how attentive the servers were (one per table) and how there glasses were always full. They even have a to-go station for guests as they leave with coffee, water, and cookies. The head waiter who was assigned to me for the night was always by my side when I needed her and even offered to bring me a private fan for underneath our head table. My mom wanted organic strawberries and asked for a particular wine that she's not allergic too, these request were accommodated with no additional charge. These are only a few examples, I could go on and on. The Grandview is great value for your money. We looked at many places, and the Grandview stood out. Food - Oh my goodness, the amount of food that comes standard with your package is unbelievable. During cocktail hour we had four stations plus 8 passed h'ordeuvres and a signature drink, plus open bar. Then for dinner it's a five course meal. Your wedding cake also comes with the package. You can choose from their selection or bring a picture and they will make what you want. The food was great! The cake was amazing! Not only in taste but it was beautiful as well. Location - hop on the Metro North and it stops 2 minutes away from the Grandview. We got married outside and had our reception under their tent with a view of the Hudson River and the Mid Hudson Bridge. All of our guests were taking picture of the view alone. It was so picturesque. I worked with Nicole G, and Jenna was my head waiter, but I'm sure that everyone is of the same quality. Each time I called, if Nicole was unavailable, someone else was able to answer my questions. The Grandview truly took care of my whole wedding party and guests. There is not one thing I would have changed about the experience or my wedding day. Guests are still talking about it 3 weeks later and I'm ready to repeat the whole day!

The Grandview space is gorgous, the day goes by so quickly take the time to do your pictures before your ceremony and reception. Take the few minutes to eat dinner, I was told the food was out of this world, best wedding food and best desserts EVER!!!! Before I walked into my event space I had never seen the Grandview set up, not knowing what was included in pictures or from othe Brides/Weddings. Be prepaired to be blown away, their attention to detail and professionalism surpassed my expectations 100X and I am a wedding photographer. The Station Dinner was a super success from everyone who was worried it would seem Buffet-y, it was not at all. it was very elegant and spacious and everyone got a bit of everything. I can't wait to have another event there. ENJOY!!!! and best wishes to you all

Our wedding this past August at The Grandview was really, beyond words. Not only my husband and I but all of our guests were incredibly impressed with every detail handled by the staff. We knew we wanted to get married and have our reception here as soon as we got engaged. We had heard nothing but positive feedback about the venue. When we actually began panning and coming closer to the date, I knew why this is considered one of the best places to have your wedding in the Hudson Valley. Sarah and the rest of the staff were so helpful and always positive. Nothing ever felt pushed on us and all of our needs were met in a timely, professional way. Our original ceremony was supposed to occur outside, however a gigantic downpour occurred about a half an hour before the ceremony was to take place. The staff (who I have heard dubbed the C.I.A. of weddings) swiftly transformed the ballroom into a beautiful place to have a ceremony. I cannot thank The Grandview enough for creating a magical, perfect night for us.

Grandview made my life so much easier, and took care of all of my concerns. it is a gorgeous venue, staffed with amazing people. My husband and I worked personally with Brent Caster, who is not only the nicest individual you could ever ask to work with, but also extremely professional. Grandview always made us feel comfortable and important, especially the night of the wedding. All I can say is that if you choose to go with Grandview, you will not regret it!!

We had our wedding reception at the Grandview on 8/13/11 and it could not have been more perfect!!! The service was amazing--and the food was the best we have ever had at any wedding. We have not stopped getting compliments from all of our guests. The venue is so beautiful as well-you can't beat views of the Hudson River and the Bridge. It was above and beyond what we could ever have dreamed of for our wedding day. Thank you!!!!

I cannot begin to describe the incredible experience we had working with The Grandview. Although this venue was over an hour away from my hometown, once we toured it, we couldn't NOT book there. From start to finish, they handled everything. Any special requests or questions I had were answered in a very timely fashion. I began to suspect that anything I wanted, they could do! We attended a tasting, which was wonderful as well.

I thought things were wonderful before the wedding, but I was blown away by the service. My now-husband and I had our own personal server who took care of us and got us anything we wanted! She even bustled my train when my bridal party was out enjoying cocktail hour. When my train broke multiple times, they fixed it.

Our guests are raving about the gorgeous scenery, food and service. Many have never been to a wedding that was so spectacular! The Viennese Hour was the icing on the cake!

We keep saying that we hope someone we know gets married there so we can go again! I could go on and on, but it was truly wonderful from start to finish.

My daughter had her wedding on August 6, 2011 in the ballroom. We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Grandview! Brent, Nicole, and Stephanie were so helpful and kind-the whole staff was friendly and efficient. The food was awesome and the Viennese table was out of this world. Our friends and family who have seen other Viennese tables say this was by far the best ever. The Penn State ice sculpture was the perfect touch!If we had another daughter, we would have another Grandview wedding, for sure! And you can't beat the view of the Hudson- we had rain but it was still gorgeous. Highly recommend The Grandview!

This venue is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We chose it because of the view and the proximity it was to our former college. Marist College is a mile away, and shares the same amazing view of the Hudson River and the Mid-Hudson Bridge. The sun sets over the water, there are panoramic views of the hudson, the orange light pours into the ballrooms - its looked breathtaking, and was a unique location so we booked the outside ballroom.

What we had been slightly concerned about afterwards is that neither of us had ever been to a wedding there, so how could we know if the food, the service, etc would be up to our expectations?
I know now that I had NOTHING to worry about. The evening was perfect - the Maitre d', Victor, was by my side when I had a question, but not in the way at all - he would appear when I needed him, and then fall into the background when he was done. He explained how everything from the timing of the bridesmaid walking down the aisle, to the cake cutting would work. He was friendly and took care of everything I needed, quickly and efficiently.
The FOOD WAS AMAZING! It was literally some of the best food I have ever eaten ANYWHERE, let alone at a wedding. The cocktail hour had more food than I ever imagined, and included unique dishes you could choose - I choose the mac + cheese mini-plates, gorgonzola and grilled pear, and panini station, to name a few, and each were DELICIOUS and had my guests raving!
Dinner had 4 courses, including intermezzo (lemon + raspberry sherbet to cleanse your palate) and each was more delicious than the last. My uncle, who loves steak and eats it frequently, stated that it was one of the best steaks he has ever eaten.
Signature cocktails were included and passed around all night, I was able to design my own cake and they created it perfectly, and as we left the reception, they had set up a "To-Go Bar" with coffee, cappuccino, bottles of water and biscotti you could take as you were leaving.

There was also 1 server PER TABLE, ensuring that everyone is taken care of at all times. If you drop your fork, before you can bend down and pick it up, the server is placing a clean on beside your plate. If you drink is 1/4 full, they ask if you want another drink from the bar, and have it delivered to your table. I have never been to a wedding with service like this. Amazing. People are still complementing me 4 weeks later.

In addition to this, I was out of state planning the wedding (I live in Connecticut, and the Grandview is in upstate New York). I called frequently with questions, and every person I talked to had the answers I needed or would find the answer out for me, quickly and with ease. Even when I would email Nicole, my wedding coordinator at The Grandview, with change in plans or menu a week before the wedding, she would get back to me promptly and pleasantly, assuring me that it was taken care of and that I did not have to worry about a thing.

Everyone single person I encountered at The Grandview - from one year before my wedding, until we were leaving the reception the night of - was friendly, accommodating and professional. We literally had NOTHING to worry about, and that gave us time to enjoy our beautiful wedding day and our guests.

If you want a stress-free reception/ceremony site that wows your guests and has breath taking views, delicious food, amazing service, and is worth every penny, than The Grandview is where you want your wedding!

The Grandview was the perfect choice for my husband and I to have our wedding. They were completely professional and handled everything perfectly. Our day was amazing thanks to them! Guests still keep talking about the setting, service and quality of food.

It was an excellent day. They made sure they did everything they could to make it a perfect day for you. Everything was beautiful and it is an amazing setting for a wedding.

We had our reception here. Our wedding was perfect thanks to the Grandview! The decorations, food, the view, etc. was amazing! The shuttle was a big plus. Everyone can enjoy the open bar without worrying about getting home or to the hotel!

My wife and I are delighted and we have had our guests still singing about how spectacular everything was including the food and desserts.

The staff was so professional, and constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything else. Excellent venue for your money. My now husband and I had such a relaxing year of planning thanks to all the services the Grandview provided. Our guests raved about the food and were looking for more! The cake was exceptional and the pastry chef executed my design perfectly. They even called me to check what kind of gardenia flower I preferred. We received our top layer to save,but it was so good we ate it the next day and shaered it with our co-workers! We will just order another cake from them for our 1 year anniversary. The maitre d and head server made sure no guest including myself had an empty or near empty drink in their hand. They were both very professional and extremely nice people. The trolley, sunset views over the hudson are also added perks. Definitely choose the outdoor space if you are looking here for a summer wedding- you will not regret it. It really was an elegant event.

My husband and I were very happy with our wedding at The Grandview. We fell in love with this venue because of the remarkable views. The staff was extremely responsive throughout the planning process. They ensured the wedding day went smooth and let us enjoy the day without any worries. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how good the food tasted. We were impressed with what was included in our original flat rate per plate. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to be married especially if you want an outdoor wedding. Our day was July 1, 2011 and we had the reception in the outdoor ball room. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

Everyone was so thoughtful, and really went above and beyond to provide service fit for a Princess! Ourday would not have been as perfect as it was without this absolutely beautiful venue. Every detail was carefully thought out, and they attended to every request seamlessly. I would highly recommend this venue for weddings, and other parties of this nature.

We lucked out, the weather was gorgeous..... which made the tent and the entire day even better. The staff was great.. even adding a table at the last minute... No complaints... nothing but compliments from every guest Youg and Old. The wait staff was quick with requests, and couldn't eo enough to accommodate "special dietary needs" from the Chicken tenders for the children, or the exact steak temperature. very highly recommend the venue!

Beautiful venue, AMAZING food, professional staff. A bit pricey, but if you are willing to spend the money it is well worth it!

My husband and I were married at The Grandview on June 10, 2011. Our ceremony was held outside and our reception was in the "outdoor ballroom." Everything about our day was PERFECT. Sarah, Nicole, and Vanessa worked very closely with us the day of our wedding. They exceeded our expectations and made sure everything was in place. The food was amazing and our guests had nothing but great things to say about the service and beautiful view. I recommend this venue to anyone looking for a day they will never forget! The Grandview was absolutely AMAZING all around. It was a gorgeous venue, the service was outstanding and professional, the food was awesome.... I had so many guests come up to me and compliment how beautiful the place was, how they loved ALL of the food, and that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. We had our wedding in the grand ball room at the grandview... We were very happy with the services throughout the planning process as well as the day of the event... our guests cant stop talking about the amazing view.. amazing cocktail hour food.. attentive waitstaff..and huge portions for dinner!!! We were pleased at every level!!! Highly reccommend the grandview!!!

My husband and I got married Oct. 10th at the Grandview. Everything was perfect !!!!

The view, the facility, the food, the service and the attention to detail were remarkable. Our guest are still raving about the quality of the food and the service. The waitstaff actually were referring to the our guests by name and it made them very comfortable.

Our day of coordinator, Nicole was amazing. She made sure everything went perfectly. If their was something my husband and I didnt even know about it.

The dessert table was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, it literally took my breath away. Our guest stayed longer just to enjoy it. The warm apple cider donuts were my favorite addition.

We can't thank all who were involved enough for making our day what it was.

Our wedding was on September 4th 2010. Everything was wonderful!! Our guests LOVED the food and location. Everyone has been telling us how much they enjoyed the wedding.

The amount of food and quality of food you get for the money is definitely worth it. The matra d I had for the day was very attentative and always asking if there was anything i needed. Everyone at the Grandview was always willing to answer any questions I had throughout my whole planning process. Everything was arranged beautifully.

A nice addition was the 5 complementary guest room and honeymoon suite.

The only thing that went wrong was the week before we went over our final contract and noticed that the time of ceremony was not changed from 11:30am to 11:15am. So our coordinator told us to place in the correct time and initial it, which we did. The day of the wedding the coordinator was not letting the guests in as they arrived. Everyone was waiting in the lobby for about 20 minutes and were not let in until around 11:30am. This caused a problem because the musicians were playing where the ceremony was for 15 minutes, but no guests were showing up because they were all waiting in the lobby.

My recommendation is to make a check list for yourself and to give a copy to your coordinator, for what you are going to go over the day before the wedding (or whenever you are going over your final details). There were a few other very minor details that were left out, but I think I was the only one that noticed (I hope).

Overall my husband and I were very happy with The Grandview.

The Grandview helped to make our wedding day unforgettable!! From the moment we booked with them, we knew that there was something special about this place. We booked the outdoor ballroom which was absolutely beautiful. Throughout the planning process the staff at the Grandview went above and beyond to accommodate any requests we had, from special liquors and drinks to a monogram on the menu, nothing was overlooked.

On the big day, the staff at the Grandview was wonderful. We had waitress that just attended to my husband and I and we were treated like royalty throughout the day. The food is flat out AMAZING!! The cocktail stations, passed hour dorves, entrees, cake, everything was so tasty and we got so many compliments on the food and service. No one ever had an empty cup or plate. They even set up a surprise for the groom's cake I had them make for my husband.

I highly, highly recommend the Grandview. Not only do you get exceptional service and great food, but you get it all at a great price with an awesome view. Thank you to your entire team for making our day so memorable.

Two quick notes: they do not serve shots (this caused a brief irritation with my husband) and supposedly they ID for drinks. They told us repeatedly at meetings to make sure the bridal party and guests brought their ID, but they never ID'd...nothing major just something to be aware of.

We had our wedding reception in the Grand Ballroom of The Grandview. Everything was PERFECT. The food was amazing, waitors were attentive, venue was spotless, and the grounds were immaculate. The staff at The Grandview was so accomodating throughout the entire wedding planning experience. The wedding coordinators were very thorough and attentive and I knew my wedding was in good hands.

Everything was amazing and the staff bent over backwards to make sure that everyone at the wedding had a great time. Our maitre d' (J.D.) even took off his own suspenders to give to my dad when his tux pants broke. Simply amazing!

My wife and I are professional photographers in the Hudson Valley, we own Owl's Eye Studios, so we work a lot of venues in the area and deal with a lot of people, and I have to say being a bride and groom at the Grandview is just flawless. They made our day so special. We were dealing with Margaret and she was no longer working there the week before our wedding, my wife started FREAKING out...and we met with Brent and he was just a great guy, very helpful and pleasant to work with. As a professional in the industry, I can tell you, you will not get a better value or a nicer place than the Grandview, absolutely amazing!

The Grandview made everything so easy. I work overnight which made me decide to use a catering facility where everything was included. From the tasting to being able to drop off some of our own decorations, and giving them instructions on how to set things up. The cake was wonderful, it was a lemon pound cake with white chocolate mousse between the layers and sliced strawberries. They even changed their normal buttercream icing for me to a thicker icing that I preferred. The dinners were amazing and so was all of the cocktail food. Our guests were raving about how it was the best wedding they ever attended. The weather was gorgeous so everyone enjoyed the outdoor balcony and views of the river, and the ballroom is wonderful as well. It is seriously the perfect venue. We also had a coordinator who I swear followed me around all day because she pullled my seat out for me everytime I went to sit down. And she would go find my parents for me, the photographer etc. You seriously have no worries all day if you have your event there.

The space provided is not large enough to write the type of wonderful review they deserve. Nicole, JD and the whole staff made the day total perfection! The food, the room, the back drop, every detail from the planning, to the very last minute as we left with all our wonderful memories, were superb!! Also, more than one guest told us it was the best reception they had ever been to!!!

The Grandview was the PERFECT venue for our wedding reception in September of '09. People are still raving to me about our reception and I have the feeling the praise will keep coming for years! The river view is breathtaking. The food was amazing. The service was excellent (thanks to JD, our Maitre d'). Our custom wedding cake was beautiful and tasted delish! From the cocktail hour to the cake cutting, The Grandview handled every aspect of our wedding in grand style. These people really know what they're doing. If you want the best in the New York/Hudson Valley area, The Grandview is the place for you. The only reason I rated them a 3.5 for Flexibility is that they have their standard wedding package and there really isn't much room for wiggle or substitutions. Our custom cake ended up being an additional $250. Black linens for the tables were an additional cost, etc. You get one free tasting event as a bride and groom and if you wanted to attend additional tastings, you had to pay an additional $60 pp. When you're spending close to $30,000 at a catering facility for your event, you should be able to attend multiple tastings for free. Overall though, with everything that is included in your wedding package (including 5 free rooms at the Poughkeepsie Grand for the night of the wedding and a complimentary shuttle back and forth between the hotel and The Grandview for the duration of the reception), you really are getting a great deal for your money. I would recommend this place hands-down to anyone!

What a fantastic venue. We have always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding and their tent area was perfect! The food was amazing and the staff was great. Almost a year later and guests are still talking about what a great wedding!

Everything about our experience with the Grandview was fanatastic. Maragret was our coordinator and she was so helpful, courteous, geniune, and attentive to us from beginning to end. The value for the money is like no other venue in the area. We got valet parking, wedding cake, 4 entree choices, open bar, a to go beverage station, one server per table, and much much more all in the included price. We've been hearing for weeks now from all guests about how great the food and service was. Many have said it was the best wedding they've been too, and we know the Grandview is a huge part of that. If given the chance I'd recommend anyone to book here.

The Grandview is in my opinion the best wedding venue in the Poughkeepsie area. It had a fresh, modern feel, a beautiful setting and view of the Hudson and Mid-Hudson Bridge, the food is excellent, and the staff are very accomodating.
Of course, all of this comes at a price. Although the Grandview is still a little expensive than say, reception halls in North Shore Long Island, it's not cheap. Still, the package that you get for your money is worth it. Our wedding was truly wonderful and we were more than impressed by the all-around quality and service of the Grandview (as were our guests, most from NYC/Long Island, who weren't expecting much from an upstate venue).

It was well worth the money not to mention 5free rooms at Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and honeymoon suite.The food is really really good and you get alot of it. Our guests really enjoyed the food-they thought cocktail hour was great food but then for dinner they were blown away!The view of the Poughkeepsie bridge at night was a sight to see. The staff at the Grandview treat you like such a Princess..anything you want they give to you! If you wanted a bacon egg n cheese sandwich Im sure they would make it for you! They are very attentive and very friendly. I wish i could do it again! Trully unforgetable! Thanks Grandview!

We were so pleased to have had our wedding at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. Everything from soup to nuts was amazing. They provide transportation for guests that stay at the Grand Hotel in Poughkeepsie all night from venue to hotel. Prices and food options were really "set in stone" we could not get them to budge on anything in that way, but the food that they served was phenominal! Liquor was top shelf, just make sure that all guests bring I.D. They check. Overall, our experience was wonderful and would recommend this venue to anyone!

Aside from one of the most incredible views on the Hudson, the Grandview offers everything you are looking for in an amazing reception. There is a huge selection of food choices and it is all wonderful and the service is even better. It is a beautiful venue and they ensure that you have the unforgettable day that you have always dreamed of.

I give my highest reccomendation of The Grandview. I knew from the start that I wanted my wedding reception there, but I honestly didn't expect how amazing it actually was. Our reception was in the ballroom, and the room looked like something straight out of a fairytale. The lighting, the tables, and the decor was all perfect. I cannot say enough about the service. Brent was so helpful in helping us plan everything the way we wanted, and everything was set up perfectly. The Grandview does do many weddings, but the level of personal service is not compromised at all. The staff was all so professional and helpful. A great many of my guests mentioned the level of service at their particular tables. Our maitre de' was also exceptional. I barely had to ask for anything before he had already anticipated. He really helped orchestrate the evening beautifully. My favorite aspect of the Grandview besides the amazing service and staff was the food. I wanted to make sure that we didn't have "wedding food" at our wedding, and we were not disappointed. The Grandview allows one complimentary tasting, and we were able to try a lot of the food we picked. The cocktail hour is such a feast. We got so many comments on how much food there was! The main courses are amazing and so delicious, everyone was raving about how good the food was. Even my husband and I took time out to finish everything. One guest told us she felt spoiled by how good the food was. Another thing everyone mentioned was the cake, because it was just so beautifully made as well as presented. There are so many little extras that make a big difference at The Grandview, such as the "to-go" station with coffe, water, and cookies. I honestly can't say one bad thing about The Grandview. They played a huge role in making our day absolutely perfect.

One of my all time favorite venues to Dee Jay a wedding at is the Grandview. As a DJ, I have the opportunity to visit and experience countless venues throughout the Hudson Valley and I feel the Grandview wins hands down for it's exceptional committment to quality, outstanding service, delicious food and ultimate hospitality. For example, their server to guest ratio far exceeds anywhere I've ever been. Your guests never have to leave their table to find anything because a staff member is always nearby. Plus they assign each bride her very own assistant who stays close to her as if she's a celebrity - ready to fulfill her every wish. Their bartenders are friendly and keep the drinks flowing without any backed up line of guests (I've been to plenty of places that provide only one bartender for 120 guests - just do the math). They never treat their couples or their guests like "dollar signs." In fact, you're made to feel like your a guest at a high-end resort. I only take the time to write all of this because it's 100% true. I've seen it time and time again! And as a vendor myself, they even treat me like a guest, which is rarely seen anywhere else.
