The Great Events Center is an absolute beautiful venue. Our wedding reception is one that will definatley be talked about among family and friends. Everyone raved about it. The lighting/decor was awsome and was roomy enough for all 100 guests. Sherri Tarabick and assistants do an amazing job of presenting the Great Events Center. I couldn't have asked for any better.

We threw a CD Release Party here in August, about 70 people came. Unique venue, we put the band on an outdoor deck area overlooking the pool with the audience across from the pool. Really cool effect with lighted pool at night. We ran some videos on a HUGE screen inside, all HD. Very impressive. The staff was very helpful and professional. The food was pretty m uch incredible, never been to the restaurant, but if it's the same chef then the restaurant must be awesome.

This venue is top notch! We had our reception here and our guests were SO impressed. Chef Tim Creehan even showed up! MaryBeth is awesome to work with. She really knows how to plan a great meal and will work with your budget. The food was amazing. I wish I could relive it all over again!

I used this location for my reception and it was perfect! Setting up and organizing the event was a pleasure and the final reception was more beautiful than I could have imagined. It was perfect for my 75 person wedding. It provided an intimate and unique setting for the reception and the service was excellent. Last, but certainly not least, the food was amazing! Everyone was raving about the grouper.

This is wehre i had my reception. This place is amazing!!!! The only complaint I would have would be that it stayed open later so that you continue the party a little longer!!

The food was excellent, I couldn't have had a better menu for the wedding. Everyone loved the choices we made.
The place was a little too small though. We had over 90 guests and it was a little too crowded. The dance floor was a bit too small. I had to order more chairs on top of the contract cost and make sure you read the contract before you sign.
If you are only going to have around 50 guests you should be ok.

The venue is beautiful and my wedding was absolutely beautiful but that was because of my bridesmaid and family NOT the Event Center. From the moment I walked into the Event Center to view the venue until two days before my wedding, which was the day after I paid, I had great service and I felt like they cared. I was very organized and was actually told by Jennifer that I was the most organized bride they’ve ever had.
I want to start out by saying the Event Manager is nothing more than a warm body occupying space on your wedding day. She is not your friend, she is not there to help, and she is there to manage her staff and the food, nothing more even though she will make you feel the complete opposite the entire time you are planning.
So anytime I scheduled a time to meet with the event manager she was at least 10+ minutes late EACH TIME. She booked me for the wrong weekend but was quick to correct it. This review is not meant to bash anyone but to let all brides know the issues I had so they can be prepared.
Some of the things I was promised (I have in writing or a witness):
The venue would be clean the day of the event; all tables would be set up and skirted before I got there; the outside lights would be on; any extra food would be packed up so we or guest could take it home; all champagne (that I paid for) would be served after the toast until nothing was left; Event manager would help decorate any way she could; bride room would be clean and ready for us to get dressed in; staff would be there to help if needed. In one of my last emails I stated I would make sure I had extra hands if they were needed and she responded saying I shouldn’t and that it will all be taken care of.
We got there just after 9:30am and the venue stunk of shrimp and none of our food was there yet. We had to ask for someone to mop. All the chairs from the reception the night before were stacked all along the kitchen bar and we had to move them out of the main area. They sat there until the guest started to arrive and then they helped move them to a separate room. Two huge glass topped tables were in the main area and could not be moved until her staff got there at 4pm (my wedding was at 5). We had to move those ourselves. The only tables set up were the 4 cocktail tables we rented and two small round tables. All my other tables were on their truck and it was not expected until 4pm. Due to the half the table not being there or none of the tables skirted, it set us back at least 2 or 3 ours. My decorations were so minimal that the table should have been completed within an hour of getting there. I had no outside lights as the sun set. We actually ended an hour early because of how dark it was getting outside. The “extra food” that I paid for was packed up and taken back to the restaurant. My cake was eaten by the staff members and then tossed before asking if I would like to take it with me. We had chocolate covered strawberries made to look like footballs for the groom’s cake. The staff ate our strawberries without offering them to us, which is stealing. One of the staff members even made a comment to a guest that the best part of working these events is the leftover food and cake. There was nothing left over about it…they stole food. I had to leave my own reception, find Jennifer and ask her about serving the extra champagne (I paid for) to our guest. When I told her I wanted an inside/outside cocktail reception, she neglected to tell me the doors could not stay open. That would not have been an issue if they weren’t so hard to open. The bride room was not ready and we had to move things around to get it ready. About an hour before the wedding the bar tender ask me what she was serving and what she was serving it in because there were no soda’s or glasses.
I decided to take some advice a very dear friend of mine gave me and I made my wedding wonderful despite all the crap that went on. She actually got in the face of one of my bridesmaids and went on about I was asking her to do things that were not part of her job description. I only asked her what she led me to believe was available in services. Oh and if she suggest using someone other than her cake lady then be prepared. Let's just say you get what you pay for with them. The venue was cheap for the area and now I know why.
They lost two potential clients due to this. Oh and when I called the owner to discuss what happened I was bitched at for over 20 minutes. Not at all professional for the owner. When I told him I didn't want a refund just to discuss my issues his whole attitude changed. He wanted to meet in person to discuss but I live over 3 hours away and I wasn't going to make a trip over with the possibility he was going to be rude to me.
