Reviews for The Image

I price shopped for my dress before ordering it from The Image. It was only after I ordered the dress that I read the PW reviews and was honestly a little worried. But everything turned out well. I told Thiela exactly what I was looking for - style, size expectations - and she made sure I ordered the right size. The dress came in time as promised and it was the perfect size - I didn't have to alter the length or body at all (just what I wanted). She never pressured me to buy the extras - padding, petticoat, or garment bag, and she was just really easy to work with! Her seamstress also was on hand to sew in my bustle. It took no more than 30 minutes to do, and she did a great job! Her seamstress was a little on the pushy side, but I didn't give in.
There were a couple of dirty spots on the dress (unnoticeable if you aren't looking for it), but she was able to clean it up and remove the spots before I took it home.
I didn't have any issues with Thiela or The Image. But I also didn't have any alteration needs.

To view and try on dresses. You had to schedule an appointment to be seen. I told the salesperson what my budget was and if she couldn't match it by selling the sample dress size she would telling me honestly that it was out my price range. Which I'm glad because I didn't want to fall in love with dresses that I couldn't afford. The dresses that I tried or knew the price ranges of ranged from $100-1500.She let me pull dresses from the rack and also grabbed dresses that she thought might fit my style. I fell in love with a dress that was a little out of my range but she offered to sell me the sample for a lower cost. Lucky for me, they had barely gotten the dress in a couple of days before and I was the first person to try it on. They had 2 seamstresses to choose from and they were honest about both of their work approaches. I spent about $400 or so for alterations, cups, and a petticoat. This is something that brides tend to forget about in their budget. The price was reasonable, I had been quoted almost $500 from another person.

I ordered my dress from this store, the owner was very unfriendly and it was clear she does not care or like her job. And the alterations person ruined my dress!!
I got it completed a very short time before my wedding and had to frantically find another alterations person to fix it!
When i originally bought my dress the owner refused to let me try on the sample that was in the store, she claimed she did not have it - but I know that she did have it in the store, as I had called to see if she had it (and she did) but when i got there she refused to let me try it on.
Once it came in the alterations person, who was very very nice ended up ruining my dress. I had 5 alterations meetings because each time i went up it was disasterous. I ended up taking my dress after the 5th time even though my dress did not fit and it had 3 huge tears in it!! I am now paying for a second set of alterations. And the store owner also sold me several hundreds of dollars worth of things i did not need, that she told me I had to have for the alterations (things to be sewn in the dress - which since have been taken out by my new alterations person who is appauled by the stuff they used.
if you want a good experience do not go to this store. The owner only wants to make money, is not nice or friendly and doesn't care about you or your dress. And the alterations person, although very nice, does not know what she is doing. I'm currently in the rush process of spending much more money to fix her horrible mistakes.

The salesperson who is also the owner was helpful enough. She just did not seem too interested in her job. She ordered the dress I wanted. It was not available in the store but they carry that line. She had told me that line sold for approx. $1200-$1300. My dress ended up $1600. It came in in the wrong color. She was good about getting the problem rectified. I wish I was told that they do not have an in house alteration person. She could not even vouch for the alterer, has never seen a gown she sold after it was altered. As soon as the dress was sold the concern was zero. Take your chances here.
