The Inn at Buckeystown

We booked this bed and breakfast for three nights to house our immediate families and us, prepare a rehearsal dinner, and be the site for a pre-wedding cookout. Since neither of the families were local, we wanted to have a place where we could stay together and celebrate the entire weekend. From the huge wrap-around porch, large common areas, and comfortable bedrooms, the Inn delivered on all our needs.

Janet, the owner, was so helpful and really helped us to organize and coordinate our weekend. She worked with us closely to determine the rehearsal dinner menu, from appetizers to dessert. She also allowed us to use the site for a cookout hosted by my sister- and brother-in-law on the Saturday before the wedding. The staff prepared brunch for us each morning and everything was incredible: very fresh, different menu every day. Janet even went the extra mile to pick up our favorite snacks to have all around the house for the entire weekend. She even packed lunches for the wedding party on the day of the wedding!

The house is beautiful and has some quirks because it is quite old. My sister complained that her mattress in one of the third floor bedrooms was uncomfortable and a doorknob fell off (it was promptly fixed); but everyone else had zero complaints and glowing reviews! We found the sleeping, showering, and bathroom arrangements to be perfect.

There was always staff around if you needed something. We had the entire inn to ourselves and felt right at home. My only complaint was that the road running past the inn got a little loud from time to time, due to tractor trailers driving by. However, during the night, it was quiet. All in all, I would highly recommend the Inn for a wedding, a place to stay, a place to eat, or a place to have afternoon tea. And make sure to try the homemade scones because they are incredible.
