Reviews for The Lily Pad Flowers
GUEST

Kirsten at Lily Pad Flowers was so great to work with. We had a very limited flower budget and while most other florists basically just laughed me off the phone she worked with me to find beautiful flowers that would work with what we could spend. A true blessing for any bride!
Our flowers were even more beautiful than I had hoped and I got a TON of compliments on them.
I marked her down a little on responsiveness because she sometimes takes a while to get back to you but she IS The Lily Pad Flowers so it's not really surprising that she's not always available to answer e-mails right away. I definitely wouldn't let that scare you away, it's just nice to be aware of!
The only other negative is that we couldn't find the roses I asked her to bring for our rose ceremony on the day. It was very hectic, though, so there's a good chance they just got lost in the shuffle. Luckily there were roses elsewhere that we could grab so everything worked out perfectly.
Bottom line: she does beautiful work for an amazing price. Go...

Kirsten is a-maz-ing! She worked with our budget to create a masterpiece that easily looked three times what we paid. She is so accommodating and friendly. One of the best vendor choices we made! A professional, yet a friend. Unlike so many other florists we received quotes from, she is fair and genuinely cares that your wedding goes perfectly. She responds quickly and works with your schedule. Kirsten is both an awesome artist and person. We highly suggest her for her skills, but her prices are much more reasonable then less skilled florists. You can't go wrong with The Lily Pad Flowers!

Working with Kirsten was such a breeze. She was incredibly helpful and patient, especially considering I came in with pretty much no vision other than white flowers, no roses. The flowers on the day of were absolutely beautiful and I got so many compliments. Thank you so much!!
GUEST

Kirsten is extremely nice and priced reasonably! Flowers weren't a huge deal to me and she helped me create the vision i was looking for. The only problem was that I misunderstood the kind of flowers we were talking about because I was not knowledgeable on flower kinds and so what was at the wedding was not what I was expecting but turned out to be perfect! Kirsten does an amazing job of creating your vision! Our bouquets were INCREDIBLE!!! :)

Kirsten is an awesome florist. She was recommended to us by our wedding planner. Her prices are reasonable and her designs are beautiful. Kirsten did such a fantastic job with my bridal bouquet as well as with all of the florals we ordered for our wedding. I had no idea what kind of designs I wanted and I knew nothing about flowers. I sent her some Internet images I liked along with my ideas for color and design; as our wedding day drew near, she tweaked details to make the florals fit my style. When I saw my bouquet, I was ecstatic. Thank you for your amazing work :)

When we were searching for a florist, we got tired of seeing the same ol' thing over and over with the same packages. Then we stumbled upon The Lily Pad Flowers. Kirsten was very flexible and listened to all of our needs and wants. The consultation was a breeze, even for my husband. We had a relatively tight budget ($500) but she was able to work around that and give us exactly what we wanted. She even allowed us to use our own unique vases and jars to lower the cost. Between then and the wedding, Kirsten sent me sample pictures until we were completely satisfied with the look. A week or so before the wedding I came across a not-so-nice review in which the bride did not get the exact color she asked for. I panicked!!! I am a perfectionist and wanted the colors to match. So, I e-mailed Kirsten and asked her to do some mock-ups. She was more than willing! We even got a sneak peek the day before. She also threw in some extra flowers for the cake. Kirsten was wonderful!

We had a wonderful experience with Lily Pad Flowers and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a florist for a special occasion! Our wedding was July 3rd in Denton, and we initially contacted Lily Pad because the staff at our wedding venue listed them as a preferred vendor. Because we chose to have a short engagement, the planning for our wedding had to be done rather quickly, and because Lily Pad is in McKinney, I never actually visited the shop or met any of the staff in person. You'd think this would have made a bride very nervous, but Kirsten quickly put my fears to rest. She handled all the arrangements with me via email and phone. She promptly returned my many phone calls and answered any questions I had. She was a pleasure to work with!
On our wedding day, Kirsten arrived at the venue as scheduled and set the flower arrangements up for us exactly as discussed--she handled everything perfectly. The flowers were fresh and beautiful and were exactly what I had envisioned from the pictures we exchanged. I absolutely loved my bouquet!
We would be thrilled to work with Lily Pad Flowers again, and we enthusiastically recommend them for your next event!

It was a pleasure working with Kirsten. She was really great about working within your budget and was extremely quick to respond to any questions I had. We were happy the day of, especially with the reception decorations.

I really don’t like giving bad reviews, but both Bobby and I felt we didn’t get what we should have regarding our flowers, which disappoints me because we really like Kirsten.
First, the good aspects, we were able to bring in our own vases and she worked with me over email, since my work schedule was pretty crazy a couple of months before the wedding. Also, Kirsten’s communication prior to the day-of was responsive and she arrived at the time we needed her to arrive on the wedding day. I got an email from Kirsten on Friday morning before our Sunday wedding saying the Anemone’s we ordered for the centerpieces and my bouquet were being shipped in from Holland and the USDA did not approve the box to pass through customs; therefore, the flowers were destroyed on site. I know this was out of Kirsten’s control, and I did not get upset about this, but we substituted another flower in place of the Anemones.
On the day-of Kirsten arrived early and brought our flowers early so we had them for pictures, since we were starting pictures as early as possible, so we could do pictures outside before it got too hot. Bobby and my sister were getting things set up in the reception space, which included putting linens on the tables since the caterer wouldn’t come earlier. Kirsten came in where I was getting my hair done and said she had set all the flowers on 1 table and had to go pick up things from a wedding the night before. She showed my sister where all the flowers went and placed them on the tables so the linens just had to be put down under the centerpieces. Bobby was eating a sandwich down the hall and wasn’t informed of Kirsten leaving.
We ended up having to call her to find out where the orchids were that were supposed to go in the bottom of our tall centerpieces, to find out that Kirsten said it didn’t look good and just left them off. This part was important to Bobby because he didn’t like having a completely empty vase with just flowers on the top. The part that bothers us most is that neither Bobby nor I was informed of this decision and it was just made by Kirsten, she did offer to refund the amount for the 6 orchids. The top flowers on the tall vases were much larger than we wanted and looked a lot larger when compared to the inspiration picture we sent her. She explained that she made them bigger to make up for the Anemone’s that were destroyed, so we got more than we wanted for no additional costs, even though we weren’t ok with that.
The other, more important reason for the low score is that we had significantly brown flowers by the end of the reception. I found out after we got home and talked to Bobby that some of the smaller centerpieces had browning hydrangea when the flowers were set up on the table cloths the morning of the wedding. My sister did not get a chance to look at all the flowers before Kirsten had left and Bobby was not informed that she was leaving and he didn’t get a chance to look the flowers over. A family member took pictures of the flowers on 1 table after the end of the reception and you can see in her picture that there are a couple of significantly brown flowers, and these are taken from farther away. I just felt that the flowers being in the air conditioning all day should have lasted for about 7 hrs.
The first red flag should have been when I picked up my bridal portraits bouquet which had brown flowers in that as well, and I was assured the flowers would not be brown on the day of the wedding. I wasn’t charged for that bouquet and Kirsten gave me an all hydrangea bouquet to use in close ups, due to the brown anemone and roses in the other bouquet. Overall, we felt that we overpaid for the flowers we got and that she overpromised and under delivered.

She was able to give me my vision of what I wanted for closest to my budget while other florists couldn't make my vision happen at all. She was very responsive and up for any changes or ideas I had along the way and worked alot with me trying to get me what I wanted. The day of there were mistakes. The flower girl petals were the wrong color. The boutonniere flowers were the wrong shade that I had picked out and was shown at her house. Also the bridal bouquet had flowers in it that it was not supposed to have. I just went with it and didn't let it bother me that day and for the price it was likely still my best bet.
GUEST

Kirsten was wonderful! She was very prompt in her replies to my preliminary inquiries as well as my ongoing emails, very willing to work with my ideas and my budget, provided great ideas and a very reasonable price. My flowers looked absolutely lovely on my wedding day, and I would highly recommend her services.
GUEST

Great work! We had birdcages and she put the cutest flower arrangements in them! She took good care of the flowers and made me (the bride) more relaxed by making sure everything was exactly what I wanted. I went to another flower shop and all they did was tell me I cant do this or that but she was very open minded and gave me exactly what my vision was! Awesome lady!
GUEST

Our centerpieces and bouquets turned out beautiful. I was not as pleased with the boutineers and cake flowers as they were sparse and some had not yet bloomed. Kirsten was easy to work with however, she sent her husband to deliver the flowers and they were without any labels.
GUEST

She worked with my budget and likes (I also was not a picky bride and not hard to please). However, she asked me what flowers I didn't like (which was only spider mums), yet those were put in my centerpieces. The MOH's bouquet was supposed to be slightly different than the bridesmaids (a progession from bride to bridesmaids), but there was no difference in any of their bouquets. She did not deliver the rose petals for the flower girl (so I ended up having my flower girl carry my toss bouquet). None of these problems ruined my wedding, but it's something to keep in mind if you are looking for certain aspects.

Kirsten is so wonderful to work with. She listened to my ideas and helped me find a compromise between my vision and my budget. She is one of the sweetest ladies and so helpful. She emailed me about a week before and advised that she got a huge deal on the orchids and was able to order 3 times as many as we originally though and asked if I wanted the extra at no additional cost. I think most would have just pocketed the extra profit so I was blown away by this. The flowers looked GORGEOUS. My only main complaint was once I got to the venue I was told by my coordinator that some peonies were missing because she had gotten 5 bad batches in so she had to use some other white flowers. The flowers that were chosen instead were flowers I had previously advised I didnt want to use as they werent my favorite. I wouldn’t have a problem with this but I wish I would have been called and told in advance when the first few bad batches came in and not told once I arrived at the venue by someone else. She told the coordinator that she is going to refund me for the peonies I didn’t get so that helps. My bouquet was beautiful but had a few light pink flowers in it which I was confused on since pink was not one of our colors.
I never did receive a refund on the peonies.

Beautiful flowers. I'm a HUGE flower girl and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. It was my vision completely! Kirsten was also happy to add our personal touch of pinwheels and I really appreciate that! I love, love how everything turned out! Highly recommend.
GUEST

We had the pleasure of working with Kirsten for our wedding. She is very bubbly and was able to really show my vision for the wedding through the flowers. There was a slight miscommunication with the time of the ceremony, and although an item was left out, she was able to have the flowers at the venue on time. She was very quick to respond to my call and worked very hard to make sure everything was perfect. The flowers were gorgeous!! Everyone complimented me on the flowers, and I plan on giving her number out to my friends that are getting married!!

She is REALLY responsive and will meet you anywhere ! Even your house ! She provides mock ups and is really sweet. The down side .... her husband drops off the flowers he left all of the flowers at the reception site leaving my planner to run to our ceromony site . When i got my flowers some of the important details on my personal flowers were REALLY wrong. They were still pretty but not what we discussed! Now the receptions flowers were amazing. She is very cost effective and really works to hash out something affortable.
GUEST

Kirsten w/ Lily pad was such a huge help when picking out my flowers, I think I changed my order a dozen times. Each time she simply made the changes and sent my updated invoice. My bouquet was exactly what I wanted, all I did was send her a photo of what I wanted. Everything was beautiful and priced well. I will use her again in the future for any flowers I may need to purchase!
GUEST

I loved Kirsten at the Lily Pad. She did great job and her value is incredible. She gave me exactly what I wanted and made everything look great. She was so flexible in booking the consultation, and in getting me an AWESOME bouquet for my portraits.
Just 10 days or so before the wedding we added some alter arrangements and she was awesome about it. So flexible, so helpful, as I would add to and alter what I wanted. She worked my rosary into my bouquet and my grandmothers cake topper and some flowers onto my cake for those "personal touches" that were important to me.
As for the"negative" things, my bridesmaids bouquets and mom corsages were slightly smaller than I thought they would be and the corsages wilted pretty quick. I noticed a lot of the girls had taken them off for the reception because they just didn't look good anymore. I had a lily and a couple of other flowers in my bouquet that was starting to brown and wilt when I first got it, but I don't know if anyone but me could tell. It was still large and beautiful for the price.
We also has some large glads in our alter arrangements that just wouldn't open. Kirsten said she tried everything, but I was pretty disappointed to have just green sticks and not open flowers up there.
The flowers was one of the most important things to me, something that I would have cried over if it wasn't right (and that was very few things). Overall, I was pleased, but a little disappointed over the quick wilting of stuff.

Kirsten was a joy to work with. We had many compliments on our flowers. I would highy recommend her to anyone!

BLESSED...WE ARE BLESSED TO HAVE FOUND THE LILY PAD! We found The Lily Pad via our Photographer Laura Parker of Fairytale Photography. 3 weeks before the wedding we had to cancel with another florist since the flowers for the bridal portrait were a disaster. Our first meeting with Kirsten was fantastic..She is attentive, PREPARED and very professional. Prompt responses and delivered as promised. THANK YOU KIRSTEN! BEAUTIFUL..BEAUTIFUL..BRIDES TO BE....The Lily Pad Flowers is THE florist to use. Every single thing we envisioned, Kirsten made come true...Not one detail left out. The flowers & decor were absolutely GORGEOUS! Everyone at the wedding was asking...who is the florist? who is the florist? They thought the flowers were fresh, brilliant in color and simply breathtaking....THE LILY PAD....THANK YOU! Beth

Kirsten was great leading up to the wedding, but that is where it stops. When I arrived at my venue and entered the bridal suite I noticed 3 bouquets, one with the color of roses I requested but the wrong kind of rose, one bouquet of purple roses, and one bouquet of purple roses, billy balls, and queen annes lace. I was confused, I thought these were someone else's flowers for a moment. What I had ordered was light pink and white garden roses, what I received was purple roses. The only reason the one bouquet had the correct flowers is because she pulled it together from left over roses from another wedding. When my coordinator pointed out the mistake to her all she seemed to do is give her attitude and tell her that "no one has ever questioned my flowers before!" What? Then she went on to blame her supplier for the flowers saying she ordered the correct thing and this is what the supplier sent. Then why didnt she mention that on the phone the night before when we spoke for 20 minutes about the set up? She took the toss bouquet with the correct color flowers and reworked it into my bouquet, but the roses were still wrong and I still had purple roses at my shabby chic styled wedding. If that wasnt bad enough, she decided that she had done enough work setting up and left in the middle of it. She left a bucket of flowers in the middle of the reception room floor and my coordinator was left to do the set up on her own, barely finishing in time to start the ceremony. Other decor never got put up because she simply ran out of time once the Kirsten decided to leave and my coordinator took over as florist. She told my coordinator that if she knew she had to do set up she would have charged more. This is very confusing since I have an email from her stating that she does all of the set up and I need not worry about it, that it is included in the cost. I also gave her $200 extra dollars to order extra roses for the cake table and gift table, but she did not. I never received that money back either. I asked for the gazebo to be draped with fabric, nothing else, but when I walked up to meet my husband for the ceremony I noticed the gazebo was adorned with tacky looking ivy and pink ribbons. I guess you get what you pay for, I only spent about $700 with her and I so wish I could go back and hire someone else, it would be worth the money. The flowers are the one thing that I look back on and wish I could change. Ive waited months to write this review, I wanted to have some time to cool down, but Im afraid Im not there yet. Still very angry and dissapointed.

Kirsten was amazing. She was there way before time and was wonderful! She also made sure I was taken care of. I sent her photos of what I kind of wanted and she was able to make exactly what I wanted. The flowers were gorgeous. She also gave me little extras to maintain my budget. For example, candle votives on each table. Everything was gorgeous.

Beautiful arrangements. She listened to exactly what I wanted and made it happen!! I was almost too happy to see what she created!

Kirsten is an angel! I loved her ability to be flexible with my budget. She had great ideas and she knew how to fuse my vision with hers. She literally made an elegant design happen with a very small budget for our wedding centerpieces. Everyone thought we spent more money on flowers and I loved my little secret of knowing we didn't. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I will use her services again.

Kirsten,
Thank you so much for your awesome service and attention to detail during our May 2nd 2009 Wedding. From start to finish the event was beautiful with the flowers you provided us.
During our initial consultation, I felt so comfortable with you and felt you truly understood my vision for our special day. You took the time to work with my budget and offer me options that were classy but economical. I loved the fact that you did a mock-up weeks before my wedding so that I could see the exact kind of arrangement I was going to get with my bouquet and my girls bouquets. That consultation really showed me you cared and really let us work out the kinks. We made several changes that night and you didn't worry me at all because I knew you would make the changes happen and get the flowers in time. This is important to me since I am an Event Planner and know how minor hiccups can really effect your day. There were no hiccups at all that day with your services, even with the fact that we had torrential downpour the day of our "planned" outdoor ceremony. You rolled with the punches and made the ceremony site and reception centerpieces beautiful.
Therefore, THANK YOU again from the bottom of my heart, I loved working with you every step of the way and would recommend your services across the board to other brides-to-be!!

Kirsten was amazing. She drove through ice to meet me because of my limited scedule. I planned a wedding in north Dallas from Austin so my anxiety was high but Kirtsen was exceptionally helpful. She worked with my parents to give me a beautiful reception. Everyone kept asking me if they could take the arrangements home with them. The wedding flowers were perfect and more than I had expected!

Kirsten was super friendly and very professional. We knew the second we met her we would have no problems with our order and we didn't! The flowers came out beautiful and lasted a long time, showing they were great quality! She was open to any changes we made and very responsive. We would highly recommend her, as we already have two days after our wedding in the grocery store!

The Lily Pad Florist was a wonderful choice for our wedding. Not only were the flowers fresh, beautiful and reasonably priced - but Kirsten is a joy to work with. She is very generous with her time and really made a great effort to understand the look we were after for all of the bouquets, coursages, etc. I would highly, highly recommend her to anyone that needs flowers for any event in the dallas area!

I went to Kirsten with the Lily Pad after visiting another florist closer to my wedding venue. The first florist was horrible and when I contacted Kirsten the first time, I was frustrated and confused. Kirsten did a wonderful job on calming me down and explained everything to me. I met w/ her only once but after that meeting I knew everything would be taken care of.
The flowers were beautiful and more than I ever imagined. Kirsten had no problems working with my budget or my ideas. Even when some of the flowers came in less than perfect, Kirsten emailed me right away to let me. I was so happy she let me know and left it up to me weather to use them or not. She explained all the options to me and I really felt I made the best decision since I had all the options and info.
My sister is getting married in March, Kirsten with the Lily Pad will be the only florist we use.

Kirsten was very professional. She came up with good suggestions for the flowers I wanted to use and how I wanted the wedding and reception venue decorated.

Kirsten is wonderful to work with and really gets a feel for the look you want to go for with your wedding. She was flexible and very helpful for me because I'm certainly no expert on flowers. My wedding flowers were beautiful. The only small complaint I would have is that my bridesmaids bouquets were about half the size we were shown with our trial. They were still stunning, as were our bouts, and my bouquet was absolutely perfect. Thanks for everything, Kirsten!
GUEST

Kirsten at the Lily Pad was absolutely awesome! She created the most beautiful centerpieces and bouquets and everyone at our wedding was impressed!

I was extremely pleased with my flowers at the altar and the reception. My bridemaids loved their bouquets. My bouquet was BEAUTIFUL!! I received a lot of compliments on the pew decorations. Kirsten, did a great job!!
GUEST

I found that Kirstens prices were well under the competition. The quailty of my center pieces and my aisle hangers were perfect. I was a little disipointed in the crosages and bouts and my bridal bouqet was a bit smaller than I expected. All together I would would recomend this vendor but maybe suggest to be more thorough.
GUEST

Most of the flowers looked good...but i had hydrangeas and those are delicate flowers. Half of the hydrangeas used had been kept too cold and were ruined when they got to the wedding. I was very disappointed about this, because the florist was so responsive to emails and phone calls. She did run out before the wedding and fix what she could and she gave my mother a refund for the ruined flowers.
GUEST

Very disappointed with the flowers for my wedding. Ribbon used to bound flowers did not match my bridesmaid dresses, even after being given a color swatch. Late for two of our meetings to discuss flowers. Prices are good, but service poor. Was told that she only did one wedding per weekend, but she didnt even deliver our flowers or make sure I was happy with what given. Would not recommend.

She knew exactly what I wanted!!! Mt bouquet was exactly how I pictured it in my head :)

FAQ for The Lily Pad Flowers
* To extend your budget, use all ceremony flowers at the reception. Altar arrangements can flank a sweetheart table, pew bows and flowers can line the cake table, and bride’s maids bouquets can adorn guest book, food tables and bar. Ushers are great "stagehands" while the bridal party takes pictures.
* Make sure you confirm number of centerpieces needed. Many times when all the RSVPs are in, a table or two may be added. While you remember to add the tables and linens, don’t forget to relay those changes to the florist or you may have empty tables.
* Give your florist the names of the bridal party and family so bouquets and boutonnieres are easily distributed by wedding coordinator or venue manager.
* For outdoor weddings, ALWAYS have a plan B and communicate that to vendors.
* Know where you would like your flowers to go after the event. When renting vases, flowers leave without containers. If requested, we will provide disposable but tasteful containers to transport after-wedding flowers.
* If you intend to preserve your bouquet, place bouquet in water right after ceremony. If choosing a florist other then The Lily Pad, request an additional, smaller bouquet specifically for tossing at the reception so your bridal stays pristine.
