We had the perfect wedding day! We did both the ceremony and reception at the mill. We had a smaller wedding down stairs which open to the deck. The weather was perfect and our guest enjoyed the outside deck. We got some so many compliments on how great the food was and how they enjoyed that the wedding was during the day! The staff is great and willing to work with you.

The team at the Mill was great! From the time we booked then a year and a half before the wedding up until the day of the team made sure we got everything we wanted. I liked that they touched base over the months leading up the wedding to ensure I was okay with the planning process and if there was anything they could help with. The setting was beautiful and everyone enjoyed themselves. The food was delicious too! I want to thank the staff at the Mill for taking care of us on such a big day and doing all they could to ensure we were happy.

We visited several venues at the Jersey Shore in hopes of finding one for our dream wedding reception. As soon as we walked into The Mill and met Amy Floss, we knew that our search had ended. Amy was amazing to work with from day one. She made the entire planning process so easy as she guided us step by step. Amy helped us finalize our date and contract, arranged food tastings with our parents, spent time catching up with us at bridal shows, and helped us plan the final details which would make our wedding reception a night to remember. She was always available by phone and email to answer EVERY question, offer suggestions, and give opinions based on her experiences with other weddings. Amy put our minds at ease and we knew that we were in great hands!
Thinking back on our wedding day, we could not have been happier that we chose The Mill for our reception. It was the perfect mix of the modern and rustic wedding venue that we had hoped for. From the moment they arrived, our family and friends enjoyed delicious food (and lots of it!), amazing drinks (including our signature drinks and special order beer), and outstanding service! The entire experience went above and beyond our expectations. We are still getting compliments from family and friends for choosing such a perfect place to celebrate our wedding day.
Every bride and groom hopes for the wedding reception of their dreams. We are so happy that we chose The Mill. Amy, Lauren, and the rest of the staff truly made all of our wedding dreams come true. Every detail of our wedding reception went so smoothly and the set up looked amazing! We highly recommend The Mill, Amy Floss and staff to any couple who is searching for the perfect wedding reception location. Your memories there will last a lifetime – we promise!

Although Hurricane Sandy made us cancel a couple days before the wedding, the staff and owners of the Mill were extremely helpful and kind!

We got married on October 20th and were lucky to have a beautiful 70 degree day on our wedding. We got married outside by the lake and it was gorgeous. The food and the staff was incredible. I did not hear any negative feedback at all from our guests. Everyone raved about the food and the service. Amy was great and responded to my questions promptly and Jim was great the day of the wedding. I did not have to worry about ANYTHING. We also hired Bruce Foster to play keyboard during our ceremony and during our cocktail hour. He was wonderful! I would highly recommend The Mill for your wedding!

The Mill was a beautiful place for our reception and our guests were raving about the food but I am still disappointed at the lack of attention to detail that was displayed by The Mill. We started with Amanda who was wonderful. She was attentive, caring and really made us feel taken care of. Then she left (I heard from another vendor that she went to another facility) and then Matie took over. Matie was nice but we felt more/better taken care of by Amanda. I still wish she was there. One thing that sort of iritated me was that at our final drop off - Matie was not there. I thought it was important for her to be there since she had been working with us for months and knew all the details of the event. We met with the banquet manager for the first time (I think his name was James) and he was not personable at all. I felt like he was just going through the motions and I had to explain all the details of the wedding all over again. Right before the wedding intriductions he was actually screaming at my bridal party. I asked my husband to get the band leader to take over because I did not want my bridal party being yelled at and I didn't want to get upset over it. In the end everyone had a good time and that's what really matters but I would have liked to see an extra effort by The Mill staff. I felt the service (excluding Amanda) was just mediocre.

I have nothing but positive things to boast about The Mill. First off, what a stunning location it was. We thankfully lucked out and had a gorgeous day, so we were able to get married in the lakeside gazebo. Throughout the process, we worked with Amy, who by far exceeded expectations. She was there answering phone calls, e-mails and basically handling every request we could come up with. Our guests were stunned with the beauty of the venue, and many of our unmarried friends said that they are going to have their wedding here. Many brides probably say their wedding was perfect, but ours truly was amazing. We didn't have to worry about anything because all the prep work and details were handled seamlessly. We would recommend The Mill to anyone and everyone. People always say it's "location, location, location" and we truly struck gold with The Mill. If you are thinking about it, stop and just book it already! You will not be disappointed.

Food (I'm told! Didn't really eat any myself haha) was "amazing." Leaps and bounds better than the standard wedding factories in the area. When we shopped around everywhere we went I was having flashbacks of softball banquets as a kid.... in 1989. The Mill is updated and gorgeous! We had some issues with the responsiveness of our first coordinator but Amy more than made up for her and made us feel really comfortable in the final hours. Would only recommend something a little more personal than a pre-made letter from their accountant to amend any financial issues. We were quoted (by event coordinator) about a hundred dollars under for our first payment post security and were notified this by accountant (Colleen I believe?) post-payment via impersonal letter. Aforementioned coordinator said it was no big deal and to tack it on to next payment and we continued to receive letter. In those early days pre solid headcount it just seemed preposterous that we were ultimately going to pay so much money and someone found that type of communication to be appropriate. But again, would never choose anywhere else to have reception.

This past August, my husband and I got married at The Mill in Spring Lake. The Mill was the perfect venue, and had everything we dreamed of for our wedding. The grounds were gorgeous, and our outdoor ceremony by the lake couldn't have been any more beautiful! The food was absolutely amazing, and our friends and family are still raving about it! Our cocktail hour and reception were upstairs, with a scenic view overlooking the lake.
Working with Amy in planning for our big day was such a great experience. She always answered our questions rather quickly, eased any concerns we had, and made sure things ran smoothly. She was wonderful, especially with handling special food requests, and was such a pleasure to talk to. Amy played a big role in making sure our day was the perfect day we would always remember. We are so glad we chose to get married at The Mill.
In honor of our six month wedding anniversary, my husband and I couldn't think of any place we'd rather celebrate at, than The Mill! It was such a wonderful feeling being back, reminiscing about our wedding day, visiting with Amy again, and enjoying their amazingly delicious brunch. The food was phenomenal, as always! :) We look forward to celebrating many more special occasions in our lives, at The Mill!

From the minute we walked into the Mill, I knew it was the place I wanted to be married! Beautiful ceremony setting along the Lake, cocktail hour in the atrium and the newly remodeled ballroom. We had the pleasure of dealing with Amy and Lauren, both where always so nice and accomadating to all my questions. So helpful the day of the wedding, never felt rushed, food was incredible and the wait staff as always was awesome!!! Thank you Amy and the Mill for giving us the beautiful wedding we envisioned!!!
Thank you,

The Mill is a fabulous venue at which to hold your wedding! Our daughter was married there on Sunday, July 22, 2012, and everything went just as planned, from the ceremony itself, which was held outside, next to the lake, to the cocktail hour immediately after, and all the way through to the reception and beyond. The staff at The Mill were very responsive and our family could not have been more pleased with the way everything turned out. The food and service was great, and the piano playing of Bruce Foster, who regularly performs at The Mill and played our daughter's ceremony and cocktail hour, was just wonderful. We can highly recommend The Mill...wedding planner Amy did a fantastic job making sure the day went perfectly.

My husband and I highly recommend the Mill. I am from out of state, so it was the perfect "destination" wedding, while still convenient for my husband's local family and friends. The Mill, especially Amy Floss, was very attentive to our needs and made us feel comfortable throughout the planning process. Being that I'm originally from out of state, Amy did a great job helping me find local vendors in areas I was unfamiliar such as photography, music, etc. The ceremony site was very convenient and the food was amazing. Our guests have been raving about the menu options. Thanks so much to the Mill for making our day so special!! Jessi and Mike Rausch

The Mill is the perfect place to get married. The ambiance, the lake, the gazebo, the Atrium Room, and the Waterview Room are all spectacular. The staff at the Mill is extremely attentive, friendly, prepared, and very professional. The first moment I met Don, I knew that the Mill was where I wanted to get married, and it was the best choice I have made through my whole planning process. Amanda is wonderful and makes everything so simple; and the day of the wedding, Jim just made everything all perfect. I felt so at ease and calm. It was amazing. I HIGHLY recommend the Mill; you will not regret it!!

We had our wedding here on May 27th 2012. Everything about The Mill from the beginning of the wedding planning process to the end of the wedding night was amazing. Amanda, our contact person, was prompt in responding to emails and never made me feel annoying asking what sometimes felt like silly questions.
At the rehearsal and the day of our wedding our maitre de, Jim, was outstanding. He listened and paid attention to all of our details, kept everything running smoothly, had drinks in our hand, food specially served to us outside during pictures, and was kind and easy going the whole time.
The food!!! Wow! I was honestly really just ready for ordinary wedding food, but this place took it up a couple of notches! It was delicious, people still talk about how amazing our cocktail hour was (we did premium) and the mashed potato martini bar was a huge hit! I actually ate my whole plate of chateaubriand it was so delicious. This venue is AMAZING with food allergies. I have celiac, and they served everything to me that was gluten free and even called to my attention that their champagne was not safe! We had bunch of other allergies, and the staff was informed and aware of what the guests could and could not eat. From all my dining experiences as someone with a severe allergy I'll tell you it is rare to come by.
We were treated like royalty, and our guests felt it too. I highly recommend this venue. It is beautiful, with modern artistic touches, but still a classic wedding venue.

We had our reception here, everything was PERFECT! Friendly staff, we got great reviews from all of our guests. We would recommend (and did recommend, our friends are getting married there next September) The Mill to anyone!

The Mill was absolutely amazing!! Everyone we worked with were all so helpful, we could not have asked for more. Our wedding went off without a hitch, our guests raved about the food, and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this venue, the grounds also made for amazing pictures!

10-2-11: We had both our ceremony and reception at the Mill. Everyone that I had worked with there was beyond helpful, responsive and very nice. The day was beyond perfect. The weather was a little iffy, but the sun ended up shining during the reception outside. All of the guests raved about the venue and the food and the service. I am beyond happy and will continue to recommend this venue to future brides.

The Mill was absolutely a dream come true....Amanda took excellent care of us up until the wedding. She was quick to respond to all of my emails and was very patient with us. During the wedding Kelly took care of all the day of details. She was on top of everything. We didn't have to worry about a thing. The food was amazing. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE STAFF AT THE MILL!!!
PS....The venue was so beautiful and the day of the Swans were even out on the lake all day and night....What beautiful pictures we got!!

Our wedding was at "The Mill" in spring lake. It was everything we wanted. It overlooks a huge lake and it is just blocks away from the beach. This venue has a modern, relaxed, atmosphere. The staff is more than helpful and very efficient. We worked with Amy throughout the whole process and Kelly on our wedding day, who both were a pleasure to work with and truly made sure that the day was perfect! The service was on point from start to finish and the food was absolutely amazing! We are still getting compliments on how great it was! The food was very important to us, so we were very pleased with what they offered. We had a blast and encountered zero problems. It was a stress free process that lead to an amazing wedding. From the breathtaking grounds, and wonderful staff to the amazing food, we could not be happier that we chose The Mill for our special Day!

I had a daytime wedding on 9/10/11, in the upstairs banquet facility. Our cocktail hour was in the ajoining room, which is open, and wall to roof windows, overlooking the pond, fountains and lily pads, not to mention the swans. It is open and inviting, and the view was enjoyed by all throughout the wedding. My sales rep, Amanda Anton, walked us through every step of the process and was incredibly attentive. She even had some tips and tricks from other weddings. We chose the Deluxe Dinner package and it was worth every penny. The cocktail hour had brilliant passed hors d'oevres, and the Slider Bar, Raw Bar and Lamb/Foccacia Bar were a huge hit. The Tuscan Display is enormous! And the Champagne Greeting kept flowing for all the guests.
Our guests raved about the dinner choices (horseradish crusted bass, Chataubriand, and Chicken Marsala for mains, veg salad and The Mills' fantastic Lobster Bisque). Our banquet manager, Kelly, orchestrated the day to perfection. The staff was attentive, the food served ontime and to people's preference, and she would really go out of her way to help myself and my husband. The bartenders were kept pretty busy at the wedding, but never did I really see a huge line at the bar. The cake was included in our package, as The Mill has a contract with Chocolate Carosel. We did not upgrade our cake, and I have to say it was beautiful and delicious! (Chocolate cake, white chocolate mousse filling, buttercream icing... YUM!) We also paid for a groom's cake, and that was delivered to perfection as well.
Funny enough, there was another wedding going on downstairs and you would have never noticed. All in all, I would have any event here. It was just perfect.

Magical! I had both my ceremony and reception at The Mill. I couldn't have asked for more. Amy was my coordinator and Kelly was my matrie' d the day of, they were both amazingly professional and helpful. All of my needs were catered to and everyone went the extra mile to make it an amazing night. We had a lot of anxiety due to the fact our wedding was the weekend after Hurricane Irene and The Mill lost power. We were constantly communicating with them and they were so reassuring and helpful. My guests are still raving about the food and the breathtaking views!!! I will forever be a guest at The Mill and would highly recommend it to anyone!

There is so much to be impressed with about the Mill; the beautiful outdoor ceremony space alongside the lake, the modern interior with sliding glass walls, the incredible food... the Mill earns a 10 our ot 10 in my book!
Our guests came from all over the country, and those who had been to the NJ shore before ALL had rave reviews about past experiences at the Mill; the Mill offers a top notch dining experience for a reasonable price (standard for shore restaurants). The venue is elegant yet modern, and it is always extremely clean and well maintained.
Amy was a pleasure to work with to coordinate the details of my wedding at The Mill. She was very organized and easy to be in touch with, especially via email. She made numerous accommodations for us and made the process of coordinating my wedding very stress free.
I had always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding, but I needed to find a venue with an equally impressive indoor ceremony space in case the weather wasn't cooperating. The Mill was exactly that, offering a beautiful indoor alternative overlooking the lake from the glass-enclosed atrium upstairs.
Kelly was my Maitre'D and was excellent. The weather was extremely questionable on my wedding day right up until 3 hours before the ceremony began; she made me feel very comfortable with the plan and the back-up plan, should the weather not cooperate. Kelly helped my entire bridal party keep cool and feel prepared for everything; the wedding went off without a hitch.
My guests are still talking about how beaitiful and perfect every detail of my wedding was, and it has so much to do with having my wedding at The Mill. I would recommend The Mill to anyone who wants to have a stunning wedding with remarkable food and service!

My wedding experience at The Mill!
Wow! What a night! One of the best days in my life! I can’t stop smiling thinking back on it
The Mill really made the night! We searched all around central Jersey to find a venue that would be right for us. The Mill was perfect with the beautiful overview of the lake (perfect for a memorable cocktail hour, hint hint) and an updated look (combing both a traditional and modern feel) that just made it an easy choice.
Where to begin . . .
Everyone that we spoke with was super friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make our ideas work. From the very beginning they knew how to handle my detail-oriented questions and my parents (especially my mom!). I never felt rushed when it came time to select the cocktail and reception menu. Which brings me to the fact that their food is just delicious! Everyone loved the lobster bisque!
The Mill has such a variety in their food choices from appetizers to dessert and has a romantic feel to it both inside and out. What more do you need from a venue? It was just a beautiful day!
As the day got closer my sales representative was awesome at answering all of my questions and finalizing all the nitty gritty details. She got what we wanted and was able to work with all of our vendors to make it happen.
On the day of, all of the transitions were smooth; from the cocktail hour through all of the meals at the reception. The drinks kept pouring!
Also, I loved that they were able to be flexible and accommodate a couple of our Polish traditions into the reception! They really made sure it was a personal experience for us!
Everything that we needed to be there was there! Everything they promised us they pulled through! The night turned out to be so much more than I had expected!

The Mill was the perfect venue! My husband and I did not want a typical wedding banquet hall, and wanted an outdoor ceremony. The grounds at the Mill with the pond and gazebo were exactly what we were looking for. It was simple but elegant - our overall theme. Our guests commented how beautiful and serene the outdoor ceremony area was. And then the reception room upstairs is just as beautiful!! The atrium room for the cocktail hour and huge windows in the reception room make everything so open and bright. The food was amazing too! Our guests loved it all! Amanda and Kelly (wedding coordinators) were exceptional! Kelly helped keep everything so organized and stress-free during the wedding day, which is what you want that day! An added perk - since the Mill is a restaurant, you can go back with your husband and/or family to have dinner to remember your special day :)
GUEST

My husband and I were married on 7/17/11 and this venue was perfect! The grounds for the outdoor ceremony are kept very well, shrubs trimmed neatly, any flowers looked lively...just perfect. The pond next to the gazebo put our guests in awe, speakers were used in the gazebo so the guests could hear our ceremony and vows, and the area was decorated just as requested! Our wedding coordinator, Kelly, was amazing...she is beyond organized and kept everything perfectly in order. The food for our reception got many praises from our guests and my salmon dish was delicious! All in all, an A+ location for a perfect wedding.

My husband and I chose to have both our ceremony and reception at The Mill and could not have been happier with the way everything turned out! The main reasons for choosing The Mill was the view (both inside and out) & the food and all were outstanding! Leading up to the day of our wedding I must have been in touch with Amanda (the coordinator) 2-3 times a week. Each time, whether it was a big or small issue, she was not only professional but so helpful. At the rehearsal,we worked with Kelly & Lynn who were both great! We had a bridal party of 20 including us and they did a wonderful job of keeping everyone organized!! On the day of, everything was fantastic! All of our guests raved about the food, the staff and their overall experience. And on a personal note, I have food allergies and was so well taken care of the day of our wedding from special appetizers to my main meal. Just another personal touch that made the day even better! We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our special day!!

We had 2 different people we worked with but they both did a great job. They answered any questions I had and helped in any way they could (including helping bustle my dress). The location was beautiful and people raved about the food.

I got married at The Mill this past June 24th. Overall, everything was amazing... way better than I pictured and expected actually. I was pretty nervous to book the mill because I rely heavily on reviews I've read online and they were so mixed. Based on what others have said in the past, I think they may have been having a hard time finding really great employees, which probably affected earlier reviews. But I know there have been changes made and now I really think they've got it all together... I had a great experience with everyone I dealt with, mostly Amy Floss who was absolutely awesome, and then Kelly and Rita (?) the day of who were just as nice and accomodating. The ceremony area is beautiful but we had rain and I (and my guests) were soo happy with the indoor plan... those huge windows make for a gorgeous view and the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception went so smoothly. Food was great and they really did a great job accommodating several of our guests' food allergies/restrictions (gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan). If I had to complain about something it's that they don't have an indoor spot for pictures in the event of rain... we literally had to take most of our group pictures on the front porch. BUT... that's probably an issue you'd run into anywhere else. Guests have said nothing but nice things, and I know no one would say anything negative to me BUT people really went out of their way to contact me afterwards to tell me how wonderful it was. One of my guests went to another wedding the next night and commented on how much better our entire night was all-around... and we spent half of what the other bride did! I can go on and on about details regarding the experiences and accomdations that were made leading up to our wedding day and of course the day of, but I'm running out of space :-) Feel free to shoot me an email with questions... I know I was dying for details and had alot of questions when I was looking to book our venue. daynabronzino@gmail.com

It is too bad that my review is so low, The Mill has a great view and the food and dinner serviice was excellent! However, they are completely inflexible and the quality of service we recieved on our wedding day was unforgiveable.
Quality of Service: We had a Saturday night wedding and The Mill had a wedding during the day. When our wedding party arrived (40 mins before our guests would be arriving) the other wedding had not even been cleaned yet! The bridal suite was a disgusting mess, (dirty glasses and plates, an overflowing garbage can...) and I asked them to clean it and they NEVER did!
The cocktail hour was supposed to begin with every guest receiving champagne with a strawberry upon arrival - but they were too busy cleaning the other party so this did not happen (a service we paid for without receiving). AND they even started the cocktail hour 15 minutes late, so it was a cocktail 45 minutes.
Another unforgivable moment of our cocktail was that they continued to clean the main banquet room while the cocktail hour took place - meaning disgusting, dirty tubs of food and dishes were being carried across the room, through our guests, to get to the kitchen - unacceptable!
They also had the door to the reception room swinging open and closed constantly, so our guests could see the room dirty and imcomplete before the party started. I asked a friend to stand by the door and close it after the sloppy staff, needless to say he did and missed out on enjoying the cocktail 45 mins.
The actual reception had great service (this is why I gave the score 1.5 stars)
Final unforgivable moment - at the end of the night, the maitre'd asked my mother how everything went, my mom responded with, "besides the cocktail hour (and went into the terrible details) it was fine".
Maitre'd response - "well at least you were happy after that"
What?! Ugh - what terrible, terrible customer service.
Responsiveness: I started with a coordinator name SaraRose - she was slow to get back to us. In the middle of coordinating, she quit and we were lucky enough to work with Amy, we really liked her a lot. If you do book here, ask for her.
Professionalism: Again, Id love to give a good score because Amy was great, but the poor rating goes to the owner! We met him and he gave us his card and told us we can call/ email anytime with concerns. Well, when we had a concern, we emailed and called - never got a response from him, real professional!
Value: Great view, nice place, great food. Only negative is the horrid chairs they have - you need seat covers!!
Flexibility: Another low score - my husband and I live in DC so when it came to food tasting, they were terrible to us! Food tasting is offered on a Tues or Wed with other couples, but since we could not make a weekday, we had to mirror a wedding and eat the food that wedding chose. Unfotunately for us, that wedding chose a package different from ours so they didnt even have the same food choices we would be giving to our guests! Also, they did not break on giving us one deal for our wedding, we got the most expensive package and did upgraded linens and chair covers - not $1 off - unbelievable.
Overall, I would not recommend The Mill, although it is a nice venue with good food, it is not worth the frustration and poor service.

Our ceremony and reception were held at The Mill in Spring Lake Heights. The food was amazing and the service was just as good. We worked with several event coordinators thought out the planning process and they all did a wonderful job. The scenery was beautiful for picture taking and the atmosphere inside was very upscale.
GUEST

My wedding at the Mill was absolutely perfect. Amy and Kelly were wonderful and super responsive, professional and flexible. The reason I took a few points off was because, in the middle of my planning, the person who I originally worked with was no longer working at the mill and it took over a month to get a response about something. Eventually someone checked my original coordinator's emails and from there on out everything was perfect. Additionally, the food was the best, my guests are still talking about it. Thanks to everyone at the mill who really made my day come together and go off without a hitch!
GUEST

We had a great experience with The Mill! They were very accommodating of any special requests that we had and very professional. The reception was flawless, the view was gorgeous, and the food was amazing (and there was plenty of it). One thing that was a bit odd was that they removed the menu cards almost as soon as the guests sat down and left them for us to keep. We had our bridal party acknowledgements on the reverse side of the menu and many didn’t even get a chance to see it.

My husband and I knew the second we walked into the Mill that it was going to be "our" venue. I had grown up going to "The Old Mill Inn" with my family when I was younger, so it had meaning for me as well. We went to an Open House and booked our wedding that day. We ended up winning a prize to get a percentage off of our wedding package because we booked that day... you can't beat that, especially with our guest list of 190 people! We decided on December 11, 2010 because The Mill is decorated so beautifully during the holidays and we knew it would save us money since we were on a budget with our families. We had a gorgeous day, 56 degrees (thankfully!).
We really didn't have to do a thing besides having our local florist handle the candle & cedar garland centerpieces since there were beautifully lit wreaths, trees, and decorations throughout the venue. We decided on the Classic Wedding Package and added some upgrades, which turned out to be fantastic. We also had our cocktail hour upstairs, and they allowed us to take pictures in the smaller room downstairs with the Christmas Tree. The Mill graciously included a ham carving station since it was included in the package after we had booked (They did say "no" at first, but they later changed their mind, which I appreciated very much). We upgraded to the Mediterranean display (amazing!) and we also upgraded our cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres to the Deluxe choices and added lamb chops and shrimp platters (which everyone raved about). The Mill orders their meat from my friend's father's company, she attended my wedding.. I know for a fact that they have quality food, and that is so important to know when choosing a vendor.
We had two Maitre'D's for our wedding, and they were phenomenal, they made sure my husband and I always had our food out first and our champagne glasses were full. The food is ordered "tableside", so you don't have to go through the pain of asking everyone what they want to eat 3 months in advance. Another special touch that a lot of our guests LOVED was the fact that the servers brought drinks to the table, which kept the bar line down (can you tell our families like a good party?).
We were able to have everything we wanted while remaining under our budget because we had our wedding in December. It has been 8 months since our wedding, and our guests still come up to us saying it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they've EVER been to. We credit The Mill and our other vendors when we hear those nice comments, because they made our day go so flawlessly and beautifully. It really was the wedding of our dreams and I would recommend The Mill to anyone.
GUEST

All our guests, my husband and myself had the PERFECT wedding day here! We had our ceremony on the outside patio. It was seasonally landscaped for fall with beautiful mums and the lake was a crystal clean blue that day. The swans were there during the ceremony almost as if they were trained to do so! I had an aisle runner for when I walked down the aisle. Celine, my day of coordinator/maitre'd was great in helping us set up. She asked me at the rehearsal what accessories we were bringing in (cake topper, toasting glasses, etc.).
SaraRose was helpful through the whole planning process when we were picking the food choices and other details.
Our reception in the waterview room upstairs was gorgeous! Cocktail hour was in the room adjacent to the waterview room so our reception room was able to be revealed to our guests after cocktail hour. We had a brunch buffet reception and the food was fantastic and there was plenty of it. The waterview room also has it's own bridal room (small but nice).
Also, we'll definitely be going back to eat at the restaurant and reminisce.

We had a BEAUTIFUL wedding reception and ceremony at the Mill at Spring Lake Heights. Everything was beautiful and the food was AMAZING!!!! Everyone still is talking about the cocktail hour!!! Our only complaint was the time of responce it took to get in touch with us to set up food tasting, and details about the day. We were living 45 min north of spring lake so at times it made it a little difficult to reach them or finalize things but in the end EVERYTHING worked out and was PERFECT!!!
Thanks so much,
Stephanie and Joe Vicidomini

Our wedding at the Mill was everything we hoped for and MORE. We were so impressed and thankful that one of the many phone calls we made when we returned from our honeymoon was to the manager of the Mill. Everyone from the manager to our wedding assistant, April, our day-of coordinator, Lynn, and every person on the wait staff, was so helpful and supportive from day 1 of booking to wedding day.
Initially, we were afraid that they wouldn't be able to handle our 250+ guests but they did it with such professionalism and class that we didn't have to worry about any of the details on our special day. April and Lynn were so organized that they went over each and every detail to make sure everything was in place. I've heard of some venues where the people talk to you once or twice after you book and hand over your money. This was not the case at all. Everyone working here wanted to make this day seamless and beautiful. And when we had requests, April, the manager, and Lynn did their best to work with us. Though they've had many, many weddings here before, they were still super flexible with us and wanted to make our wedding day a day that was about us.
Along with the people, the venue is just gorgeous. When we went venue hunting, we were really disappointed b/c almost every wedding hall in NJ was so gaudy and faux-victorian, overly lavish with fake chandeliers, stuffy rugs, and ridiculously high ceilings. We didn't want to have a costume party! We wanted an intimate, beautiful wedding. Even with 250 people, the Mill was able to do that b/c of its location. It's situated by a scenic lake that makes you feel like you're away at some lakeside resort. The rooms at the Mill are modern, sleek, and elegant, which is exactly what we wanted. The milieu of the place (even if you're just dining there) is so elegant, sophisticated, and ultra-sleek (NOT the fake, victorian, gaudy, and outlandish feel you get from other places).
And most importantly, THE FOOD IS AMAZING! If you book here, you gotta try their LAMB. and their LOBSTER BISQUE. Seriously, my family and friends were raving about the food after the wedding! And though most brides say they don't eat during their own wedding, I did NOT want to miss out. The wait staff were so sweet and made sure I got a taste of everything and I was an extremely happy and well-fed bride. hahaa. Even if you're just in town, you should try out their menu! Just amazing. Their chef is so sweet too. When we went to dine there before the wedding, we told the wait staff that we were having our wedding here, and the chef came out to personally greet us and promise that he would do his best for every dish. He kept his promise. :)
Lastly, their prices are super super good for what you get! Whenever other brides asked me about their packages, they were incredulous. If you're looking around at other venues, you'll know what I mean! It's rare to find a venue that has amazing people + gorgeous venue + awesome food for such a great package deal.
Our wonderful photographer, Maggie Harkov, took some great shots of the wedding. You can see the beauty of the Mill for yourself at http://www.maggieharkov.com/4811.

My husband and I had our reception at the Mill last summer and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. When we initially began the customary newly engaged tours of the various venues in the area, we started to become discouraged as we could not find a place that we both loved. A place where we could see ourselves being introduced for the 1st time, as well as a place where our family and friends could have the time of their lives. It actually came to a point when we considered looking out of state. However, we eventually stumbled upon the Mill and within minutes of taking the tour we had no question that we found the perfect place for our reception. We are not sure if it was the reception room with the wonderful view of the old mill, the great menu or the beautiful garden outside for pictures, but it felt like the Mill had exactly what we wanted.
When it came to our actually wedding day, the Mill did not disapoint. The food was great, their was a private champagne celebration ready for us and our bridal party as soon as we arrived and our pictures in the garden turned out great. Most importantly though, with the craziness of a wedding day, the Mill made sure there was always an employee within a stone's throw to makre sure we were happy. Whether it was getting us refills of drinks, making sure we had enough to eat or helping set up the equipment for our photo mantage, we could not have asked for more. The best compliment we can give is that if we had to do it all over again, there is not doubt that we would still choose the Mill.

I'm going to split this up into three parts since these are each different elements were based on independent people:
Sales staff/pre-wedding coordination:When we originally booked the Mill in June 2009 our point of contact was Jennifer. Around January 2010, we found out that she was no longer working at the Mill. We only found out because I had sent Jennifer a few emails over a three week period and had no response so I called to see what was up. Our new point of contact was Sara Rose and she told me she had never received any of my emails (which were supposed to be forwarded). However, no one even contacted us to let us know that our point of contact had changed. Sara Rose was very helpful when it came down to the end but there were a few instances where I sent an email with a few questions and her responses would fail to answer the entire email. The other issue I had with them pre-wedding was in regards to the tasting. They do one tasting ever 6 months or so for the upcoming weddings and its in the middle of the week. When we were contacted for the tasting it was about 2 weeks before the date which wouldn't have been a problem if we lived in state but we live in Pittsburgh (which is about a 6 1/2 hour drive to Spring Lake). I explained the situation to Jennifer and they wouldn't budge on trying to work something out for us since they gave us such short notice (I'm not sure if this is because this was right before she left the Mill or if this is standard procedure). I will say that there was one thing that I wanted to include on the menu that wasn't at the tasting and when I contacted Sara Rose to try it she made sure to make arrangements for it to happen.
Day of coordinator: Lynn was awesome. My father likes to try to control things and at the rehearsal he was trying to give Lynn some pointers. She graciously listened and made him feel like she listened and then went back to running the show. Also, she made sure that it was MH and I that were making the decisions (and not others) on what would be going on the day of. On the day of I heard that she was awesome because we had all of our guests arrive in a coach bus shuttle so she had about 100 people to seat in a very short amount of time and she managed to pull it off. Also, during the reception she arranged for everything we asked of her.
Staff on day of:They were very helpful and packed up quite a bit of food not only for us but also for our guests. My only complaint was that they were vacuuming the atrium during the speeches.

My husband and I had the most beautiful wedding at The Mill. The staff were friendly and curteous. Our day of coordinator took care of everything letting us relax and enjoy the day. We had our ceremony next to the lake which was absolutely gorgeous. We loved the Waterview room and the cocktail area looking out onto the lake. The food was good, many of our guests still talk about the sushi we had during the cocktail hour. I found the prices to be very reasonable. I highly recommend The Mill at Spring lake Heights to anyone looking to have a beautiful, elegant wedding!

I loved The Mill! They had wonder service. The outside ceremony was priceless and so elegant. Our reception was flawless and so classy. Eveyone had a fantastic time - I'm still getting compliments on it 7 months later. The staff was so accommodating and worked so well with us. The prices were so reasonable and I couldn't have asked for anything better!!!

Overall, we are very glad we had our wedding there. The location is great, the view is very pretty, great parking, excellent food. We weren't crazy for our coordinator Jennifer. However, we worked with Patty on the wedding day and loved her. She was very attentive and made us feel at ease.

I loved the venue...the location and food was fabulous! My contact person (Jennifer) was a bit of an airhead, but because I was so organized, it wasn't a problem. The matre'd was excellent and that was more important anyway!

We had a cocktail reception and this was THE perfect venue for it. They did everything I asked of them to the T. It came out exactly as I had envisioned and SaraRose was a God send!

OMG! I can't even begin to tell you how many compliments I received on this venue! We booked the ceremony and Deluxe Package on a Friday Evening. The 'lake'side ceremony garden is very beautiful and peaceful. The grounds are freshly planted with flowers and all is kept very neat and green. But in additon to the beautiful outdoor space-- The reception food was OUTSTANDING... and more than that, the Maitre'D was incredible!! She was the most efficent person I have ever seen undertake such a job-- she went so far as to check each and every plate as it was being brought in to ensure that all food was being served hot. How's that for service!?! The wait staff was incredibly accomodating-- always asking guests, as well as my husband and I, if we had any requests or needs. In terms of catering and service, there is no other venue we could have picked that would have even come close to the level of service and quality of catering that we were given. We initially met and booked with Barbara (she's a sweet person!), but where assinged to SaraRose for all of our planning needs. She was extremely proficient, and accomodating to all of our questions and requests. We were extremely happy with this venue and highly recommend them to any potential client for any event needs. Many of my parents friends who had recently been to weddings at very chic places (that will not be named) said the food at the Mill triumphed over all.. The service and catering were superb. A+++ Note: If you are someone who requires a huge dressing room on the venue site- this may not be the venue of your dreams. But if you care more about the quailty of food and service-- this will definitely be a venue to see! A winter wedding would be so lovely here, also. Great value for that season, too.

Absolute perfection! My wedding at The Mill was exactly as I envisioned it would be. We were married outside by the lake which was gorgeous. The cocktail hour was amazing as was our dinner - the variety and quality of food, the service and the professionalism of every staff member was amazing. We had to worry about nothing on our wedding day. The staff at the Mill took care of everything and made sure we were happy and satisfied throughout the night. It has been nine months since our wedding and people still rave about The Mill.

I cannot say enough about The Mill....EVERYTHING that they took care of was perfect!!! Throughout all of the planning Amanda was right there by my side to help me with questions, or even just to vent about all the stress (and trust me, when you're planning a wedding there is always stress). And the day of the wedding it was always "what can I get for you<" "Are you okay?" "Do you need anything...." They were absolutely amazing and the place is absolutely beautiful for weddings. Mine was outside right by the lake and it was perfect!!! The reception room is beautiful as well overlooking the lake!!! I would HIGHLY recommend looking into The Mill to have your wedding!!!
