The Mountain Top Inn & Resort

The entire weekend was amazing! The staff helped us with any problems, which were few and far between. From the moment we came for the weekend, we were waited on hand and foot. We got compliments the entire night. This is a weekend I would love to live over and over thanks to Mountain Top!

Leah helped us coordinate an exceptional wedding weekend with a welcoming party, rehearsal dinner, and wedding. We live out of state and she made the process very easy for us - we asked a lot of questions by email and received very timely responses. We have heard quite a few guests tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Those who chose to stay a few days also really enjoyed everything the resort has to offer. Many thanks to Leah and the rest of the inn staff!

The Mountain Top Inn is the most charming and picturesque inn I have ever visited.My husband and I recently had a destination wedding at the Inn and the venue exceeded our expectations! The Mountain Top Inn provided the most amazing country and waterfront backdrop with the perfect amount of elegance. Our guests reviews of the inn and the weekend have been glowing! The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. The staff paid exquisite attention to every detail! Leah, our wedding coordinator and catering manager was phenomenal...beyond what we could have imagined or hoped for!I felt so confident that everything was going to be taken care of by her so I got to (gasp) relax on my wedding day! She got everything perfect from cocktail napkins and straws to microbrews served! Our guests havent stopped raving about the food at our rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, and wedding reception! Our guests were thrilled that they paid attention to food allergies and preferences! Guests loved the complimentary breakfast buffet which offered an extensive selection of wonderful dishes and food (including excellent touches such as real Vermont maple syrup!).Our rehearsal dinner was held at the waterfront in the new Boathouse Pavilion. The pavilion is gorgeous and the view is magnificent. Our ceremony was held on the knoll with the lake behind us. The setting was intimate and relaxed. Guests watched the ceremony from beautiful handmade wooden benches (and chiviari chairs were offered for those with preferences for a back!). The arbor that we married under looks captivating in our wedding photos! The inn and acommodations are equally as inviting and lovely. There is a rustic elegance that makes the inn a perfect setting for a destination wedding. Our guests enjoyed the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation that the Inn offers. Our guests engaged in activities ranging from horseback riding to kayaking to reading a book on the patio overlooking the lake. We cannot say enough about our experiences at Mountain Top Inn. We look forward to creating many more fond memories during future trips to Mountain Top Inn. We highly recommend the Inn!

After working in the wedding industry and having attended hundreds of weddings - I don't think I've been to a better venue than the MTI. Not only is it incredibly gorgeous, my guests were incredibly impressed with the rooms, but everyone made full use of the property and had a great time. If you're looking to have everyone together for the entire weekend - an adult camp, if you will - then this is the place! Chelsea was absolutely amazing to work with. Foreseeing problems, totally flexible and cool as a cucumber when I was freaking out. She made the entire process totally stress-free and was very gracious to all of my guests. If it is within your budget, you will not have a better experience anywhere else.

Our wedding planner, Carrie Lane of Storied Events, strongly encouraged us to visit the Mountain Top Inn when we were looking at venues. We were hesitant, b/c i really didn't want a tent. But, Carrie convincingly told me "It has a floor. Now go look at it!" It was the 5th place we visited in Vermont, and after 15 minutes of our tour, my fiancee whispered to me "We can stop looking. I'm in!" The way I described the venue to people is that it's fancy enough for your high-brow out of town friends, but down home enough for your local people too! A laid back elegance that i've not seen before. Our reception was unique in that we did a cocktail party for the whole thing- so there was no sit down dinner or traditional things. When we brought the ideas to the on-site coordinator and food/bev manager (Chelsea & Leah), they embraced our thoughts and the chefs really ran with it. We have eaten there numerous times in the last 10 months, and the food is exemplary- from burgers to beef wellington...it's ALL good! Amazing wine, which was important to us and everyone was just so EAGER and happy to help. Chelsea was so helpful at every turn, and Leah and the kitchen went above and beyond with our tastings. Customer service is VERY important to Jeff and I and our guests were blown away with the level of courteousness and fun-spiritedness from the waitstaff, bartenders, front desk gals- and the girls in housekeeping are rockstars! Those rooms and houses are immaculate- my parents operated a 12 unit motel when i was growing up- i know how hard it can be- these people know their stuff- We had so many raves about the whole weekend from our guests and we are STILL getting raves about it- the food, the setting, the preparation, the tastings, the wine- oh, the wine! Jeff and I HIGHLY recommend the Mountain Top Inn for your wedding- it could not have been more perfect! We wanted people to walk out of that tent and say "oh my GOODNESS, that was the BEST wedding ever!" And they did. And they still are!

We had a few ups/downs until we got into the right hands with Leah and Chelsea but then it was smooth sailing. The staff was wonderful...Bernadette will stay in our hearts for her friendly smile and always remembering us. We can't wait to visit again. Our wedding was one to be talked about for a long time for the beautiful setting, wonderful service and amazing chalets. Thank you.

My husband and I were married at the Mountain Top Inn this past October, 2011. From the beginning of our planning through the wedding, the inn was wonderful at accommodating all of our needs. The Mountain Top has a special event coordinator, Chelsea Howe, who was always available to answer any and every question I had as they arose during my year of planning. She was in contact with my vendors, and also had wonderful vendor recommendations. We booked our officiant, hairdresser, and cake baker from their recommended vendor list and were very happy with all of them.
We were also thrilled with the food selection for our weekend. We hosted a bbq rehearsal dinner, two hot buffet brunches, a soup/salad/sandwich lunch, the reception with a 3 course sit down meal, and a late night pizza party. Everything was delicious! My cousin told me the filet mignon was the best he'd ever had.
During our wedding weekend, Chelsea was present the entire time, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Almost all of our guests chose to stay at the inn, which provides guest rooms, cabins, and chalet homes with weekend rents. Transportation was provided between the inns and chalet homes (although within walking distance) which was necessary on our wedding weekend because it rained almost the entire time! A note about the rain - it didn't affect the wedding at all! Although there is a beautiful outdoor arbor/alter/chuppah for the ceremony which we were really looking forward to getting married under, the ceremony was moved inside last minute and was still beautiful.
On the day of the wedding, I didn't have to handle a thing. Chelsea managed all of the vendors, and the tent, tables, and decorations were set up perfectly. She was there during the ceremony to tell everyone when it was their turn to walk down the aisle, and was there at the end of the night to make sure the kitchen was ready with the late-night pizzas we ordered for our guests!
I could go on for days about the breathtaking mountain views, but you honestly have to see it to believe it. The weekend was perfect, and everyone told us what an amazing time they had, and how beautiful the location was. No one seemed to mind about the rain at all! I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Ultimately, we chose the MT Top Inn because it provided the greatest amount of flexibility, the greatest amount of service and product for what we were paying without numerous fees and charges attached, embraced the true spirit of Vermont customer service, and was simply a stunning location. There are a few different coordinators, but we worked with Chelsea. She was attentive, willing to work with us on our budget, and knew how to remove the stress for us. Our guests were raving about the Mt Top during the weekend event and after; we couldn't have been more pleased. Definitely consider them!

We worked with Leah at the Mountain Top and she was very professional and calm. She was great when working with my picky parents, letting them work out all the room assignments! Leah was on top of everything for the weekend, she was very organized and well prepared. The entire Staff as amazing, they were polite, helpful and remembered everyone's names. The bar tender as very good, he remembered guest drinks and was a blast! We had such a great time there, the rooms were very clean and beautiful, the outdoor venue for the ceremony is breath taking overlooking the lake. The tent was clean and stunning. We looked at the venue on a rainy November day and it was still beautiful, our wedding day in May was gorgeous.

The food. That was probably the best! We had lots to choose from and it was all delicious and beautifully presented.

Mountain Top is absolutely beautiful as your guests will appreciate. However they are inflexable and very expensive. Their attention to detail is lacking as is some of the general maintenance of the Inn and grounds. The chefs and kitchen do a wonderful job.

The venue is enough for you to get married here. However, the wedding coordinator was very unprofessional. I got stressed by working with her. Hopefully they will get better coordinators in the future. The staff at the bar was awesome!

I first photographed a wedding at The Mountaintop Inn & Resort in July of 2004. Not only is the location breathtaking, but the staff went out of their way to make sure the guests and vendors had whatever they needed. I was extremely impressed with the ease in which the days events flowed and how pleasant it was to be working at this venue. The guests were able to be there for the weekend and many of them commented to me how fabulous the resort was and how relaxed they were able to feel at this wedding. I didn't want the night to end! This has been the case consistently over the years and the Mountain Top remains one of my favorite places to photograph weddings. Very highly recommended!
