Great dj, super nice. We had Dave and I can't say enough good things about him. He's a great guy easy to work with and interacts well with the crowd! You can't go wrong with Dave!

Carl was excellent! He met with us ahead of time and made sure everything was taken care of and picked out ahead of time. He did an excellent job gauging our crowd and keeping the dance floor packed all night! Carl was always at his post. We got numerous compliments on the music and on how funny our DJ was.

Mitch with The Music Man contacted me about his services. He was very professional and followed up with additional information. He called to check in on us a couple of times. Based on reviews and his responsiveness we decided to go with them. Dave was the DJ for our wedding. He ran the evening for us and we didn't need to think about anything. They have all types of music and great lighting.

Our wedding on August 3, 2012, was beyond PERFECT! It wouldn't have been nearly as wonderful without our the fantastic DJ Service, The Music Man! For both our ceremony & reception, we had DJ Carl Hoffses. We absolutely LOVED working with him and he truly made our wedding day all we dreamed about! He was very easy to work with and was organized. He truly listened to our ideas and provided his own expertise in order to make our day perfect. For our wedding reception, our top priorities were music and entertainment and photography! We'd never hired a DJ before and to our utmost satisfaction, The Music Man DJ Service was Absolutely Everything we Hoped for and More! Mitch Dugan is professional, prompt, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor too! When we changed our venue, The Music Man DJ Service was flexible and accomodating. Mitch and Luke (the DJ at our reception) met with us prior to our reception to discuss our music choices and plan the event! Many of our friends told us that our reception was one of the best they'd been to! Luke played all the music we asked for and was amazing with our guests regarding song requests. Luke also was right on top of last minute requests from my husband and I at the reception in terms of announcements and special requests!! If I were ever to hire a DJ service again, it would DEFINITELY be The Music Man DJ Service!! Thanks Mitch and Luke!!

Mitch, the owner is so nice...I highly highly recommend Dj Carl Hoffses. He is so amazing, plays all the songs i wanted, and filled the blanks in with amazing songs.. Carl was the DJ at my wedding on Saturday August 27th and he did the most AMAZING job!! He really got the party moving and kept people on the dance floor! We got compliments all night about picking such a GREAT DJ and that he was very fun and personable. We would definitely come back to Music Man and have Carl DJ for us again!

Brian P was fantastic. He did a great job he had even odd requests including a different father daughter dance. Brian P did an excellent job keeping the crowd going and even threw in some funny little jokes here and there. I couldnt have asked for more. In fact my cousin has already booked him for her wedding as well.

Carl and his assistant Carmen did our wedding yesterday. They were amazing. They were super helpful and incredibly kind. They helped us through every step of the process. All of our guests raved about the music, he had them dancing all night long. When guests requested songs he played them right away. Carmen showed us all some great dance moves. I cannot say enough about their services and could go on all night! We would highly recommend Carl and Carmen from The Music Man DJ services. I have already recommened them to our friends and family who are planning weddings in the coming year! Thank you so much Carl and Carmen!!!!

I hired the Music Man DJ after meeting with them at a bridal show in Maine. Brian was SO helpful with the planning process, and he even loaned my brother, whom would be playing the acoustic guitar and singing during our ceremony, his own personal amp and boom mic. Above and beyond service in that regard.

At the reception, he sure kept us on our feet! He was absolutely WONDERFUL as an MC and his choices in music selections were absolutely superb in terms of keeping the party going!

I couldn't possibly have been more thrilled with The Music Man DJ, and would absolutely recommend this company (and Brian!) when it comes to choosing your wedding DJ!

Carl was our DJ. He did a fantastic job at our wedding. He followed our directions and played all the songs we requested. He even helped us out by bringing a microphone for our ceremony. We were very happy with our DJ choice. Carl was professional and did a great job as master of ceremonies. His assistant Carmen made sure throughout the evening that everything was going as we hoped.

We couldn'thave done this wedding without Brian Thompson! He was a great fit for our wedding! At the the wedding he went above and beyond to help out, the music was perfect and he was well prepared. Guests at our wedding thought he was great. We had no problems that day and we would recommed him.

The only thing I will say is if you are the conservative type, you may want a different DJ. :)

I need to address the bad review Brian received; yes, Brian is weird but that is what makes him great. Yes, Brian does karate and massage and may give you his buisness card, so what? Yes, Brian has a wonderful son whom he adopted and is raising and that seems pretty awesome to me.

We hired Music Man DJ after seeing an online ad for them. When I contacted them, they were very professional and willing to meet us for an "interview" of sorts. While both Mitch and Carl were definitely characters, we appreciated both of their senses of humor. We figured they seemed nice enough and hired them hoping we had made the right decision. When we met with Carl Hoffses about 3 weeks before our wedding to go over details, both my groom and I were impressed with his knowledge of music, appropriateness or songs and for what events to play them ie cake cutting/entrance. Carl gave suggestions of songs for these events that we hadn't even thought of. He had plenty of ideas for those of you that just don't know where to start with picking songs! He continued to guide us with the reception order & let us make decisions. After that meeting, we felt a sense of relief as we knew then, that Carl was going to do a great job!

On the day of the event, Carl was very professional (& had an assistant Carmen who helped keep the dance floor alive!!! We loved her too!). Carl started out with some fast songs to get us out there dancing...we started dancing about 6:30 and went until 10 o'clock with the dance floor NEVER EMPTY! He knew just when to slip a slow song in as we were having a great time getting down to the fast songs!

Carl stayed true to Do Not Play list as well as they Must Play List. We also got a cd with all of our special songs! I later heard that his computer was down for a little while and was not able to get a song request but you would have never known as he had appropriate backup equipment!!!! He was discrete and was not too "showy" as a DJ personality. He added to the class of the event whereas some wedding dj's take away from it...

Carl kept us out on the dance floor boogying ALL NIGHT LONG! The value was also amazing. We would suggest Carl to any couples looking for a wedding DJ.

We had Ben & Diane Taylor. Diane was amazing. She answered questions and responded to emails/phone calls very quickly. She was very organized and a great woman to talk to.

On our wedding day, Diane seemed to become a day-of-coordinator. When we wanted to move dinner up a half an hour, she made it happen. Cannot praise her enough!

They played our songs at the right times, there was one "Do Not Play" song that made its way in the rotation, it was Lady Gaga's "Love Game"(?) the one that talks about a disco stick. My grandmother was a little flabergasted at the song. Nothing major though, and funny after the fact.

I do echo what someone else said, that it would have been nice to get the crowd a little more pumped up. Overall though, I believe they did a good job, and I would recommend them if this is your price range. If you can spend more, you should probably go to the next level.

Diane and Ben Taylor were our Dj's for our wedding reception from Music Man Mitch's company. They were very attentive and flexible during our reception and ceremony. They played all of the music we requested and kept our guests on the dance floor all night long. I would have liked them to have been more involved in "hyping" up the crowd, but over all they provided us with great service.

We hired this DJ service and over all were extremely pleased with the outcome. We had Carl and Carmen at our wedding, they both were on time, prepared and dressed professionally. My only issue was that the list I had sent Carl with my final names, music, etc was not printed out and he only had the rough draft. I was aggravated at the time because I needed to take time to write down the correct information for him. Besides that, the music was perfect and really set the tone of the wedding. My friends and family are still talking about how much fun they had! Everyone was on the dance floor from the start to the end. Carmen even got up and helped us with one of the dances which was really cool! I am extremely happy that we chose to go with them, they definitely helped make my wedding day organized and TONS of fun!

I planned my wedding in Maine from across the country and took a leap of faith on recommendations for a wedding DJ. I spoke with Mitch several times and only with the actual DJ, Jeff, twice. On the day of the wedding Mitch was at there at the beginning of the reception to check in and see if everything was good. They also provided CDs of some of the selections of the reception music which was a nice touch.

Mitch had taken my request list and my "do-not play" list and Jeff stuck to the lists, although, that did not mean that they stayed within the theme of the music choices we made. Most of the requests were 80s pop and at one point there was lounge music. Jeff took the liberty of giving a toast as well, which felt inappropriate since I had never met him.

Overall the guests enjoyed the DJ and people were dancing. They wanted the DJ to keep playing into the night. So overall the experience was good.

We love The Music Man DJ Service. We hired Brian for our wedding and reception service. Brian was professional, entertaining and flexible to our needs. Brian met all of our expectations and more. We were left with a surprise at the end of the night, it was a cd of our playlist! This was a great touch and a perfect ending for us. Thank you Brian!

We used The Music Man DJ Service and had Jeff as our DJ. He was AMAZING - from the second the dance floor opened until the last dance everyone was on their feet the entire time. He met with us several times to get an idea of our taste and what our style is and did a fantastic job during the cocktail hour, dinner, and dance after. I would recommend him highly to anyone.

The music man DJ was great. Mitch was very professional and easy to work with. They listened to me and what I wanted and made it happen. Definitely reccomend them!

Carl Hoffes with the Music Man DJ Service was our DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception. I would recommand his service to any Bride or Groom! Carl showed up to the ceremony in proper attire and was prepared well in time before the ceremony started. He performed all requested songs prior to, during and after the ceremony perfectly. He kept my guests entertained during the reception and played all requested songs. My wedding was a blast and many of my guests continue to tell me how much fun they had a my wedding! That is a comment every bride and groom love to hear!

Brian Phoenix was the best DJ! We had the opportunity to see Brian at a wedding a few weeks before our own. He was very professional and well worth the price!

Our reception was a blast. Brian was very professional and a lot of fun. He was very flexible with music and also great at getting back when we had questions.

Mitch and Bo were wonderful to work with. We'd seen this company at another wedding, and it was one of the most fun weddings we'd ever been to (before ours, of course). At our wedding, everyone was out on the dance floor--we even added on another hour because people were having so much fun! And when they played a song that wasn't such a hit, they subtly faded into the next one. They are true professionals (no tacky jokes on the mic, no big advertising sign at the reception). Absolutely worth it!

Mitch was a wonderful DJ. He met all our needs and was able to meet with me as many times as I wanted.
My only concern was that he left the wedding without telling us. He had another DJ come in for the end of the reception. I turned around at one point and saw there was someone new. When I asked the DJ where Mitch went. He said "home".

We booked Caryn Collins for our wedding without meeting her. We met with the owner and another DJ (Jeff) at a bridal show, but Jeff someone booked Jeff before before our meeting. When we went to our meeting we decided that for $850 including an ourdoor sound system it was worth it to book a DJ we hadn't met especially after being so impressed with the owner and Jeff.

Prior to the wedding Caryn had some personal issues that caused her to be fairly hard to communicate with. I understand that things happen, but I didn't get the files she needed filled out with songs until a week before the wedding, we were told we would get to meet with her 3 weeks before the wedding to go over everything, but she insisted that discussing everything over the phone would leave her more than prepared. We didn't actually sit down and talk to her on the phone until the week of the wedding and I was filling out the song list 3 days before the wedding, not my idea of a good time. Finally, I gave up, I had too many other things to do and I kept my fingers crossed.

She made a few mistakes such as starting the bridal processional when the ring bearers started to walk down the aisle (I only knew about this because of our the video a friend took) and she missed one or two of our must play songs. The one other problem was that 45 minutes into dancing I realized she hadn't played a single slow song and I had a number of them on my must play list. I had to remind her to play slow songs at which point she started playing two back to back. I didn't really get it, but the dance floor was popping all night and everyone had a great time. There were a few songs I didn't like that were played, but it wasn't the end of the world by any means. In the end what mattered was that people were dancing and having a great time.

One other thing to note, while I had been told they were very professional and she wouldn't be dressed like one of the "cheesy djs" I had to take a step back when I first saw her. My neighbor is a DJ and always makes sure to look nice, black pants, nice shirt type of thing. Our DJ wore black pants, a white shirt and a purple vest, which in my and my guests opinion was cheesy. Her hair was also in her face all night long, and she was unable to keep her glasses up. I think that when you are supposed to look professional, if you can keep your hair up then wear it down and if your constantly going to be pushing your glasses up while swiping hair from your face you should maybe get new glasses or even give contacts a try. It looked like she had just rolled out of bed, thrown her hair up, tossed her glasses and standard dj outfit on and ran out the door. Her look just wasn't in line with the 5 or 6 DJs that were at the bridal show I had found them at. The single funniest/worst thing about her attire was that she wore CROCS, the single ugliest, least professional shoes on the face of the earth. I wasn't paying attention to her feet, but my husband commented after we left the reception and multiple guests had things to say about the dredded CROCS.

All in all for the money she did a good job and I think that if she hadn't had a lot going on in her personal life the few things I was unhappy about wouldn't have been a problem. If you do hire her I highly recommend setting a no CROCS dress code :)

They were great! I'd recommend them to anybody!
