The Omni William Penn is by far the most beautiful wedding venue in the Pittsburgh area (in my opinion). It has history, charm, character, and chandeliers that are over the top stunning. I chose the Omni because it is so absolutely gorgeous. If money is no object, go all the way with the Omni. If your wedding budget is around the $25,000 range, you can still do it at the Omni but you'll need a little flexibility and a lot of creativity. Have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday, during fall or winter months, have a small wedding party, make friends with a florist, and don't have a cookie table. If your wedding budget is under $20,000 there are other rooms in the Omni besides the Grand Ballroom that are nicer than other hotels in the area, but nothing beats the Grand Ballroom. It is 100% fabulous. The Omni is a great venue, but it isn't perfect. The food was not as good as I expected. That was my biggest complaint. My other complaint is that the Omni's table linens are square, but they have round tables. Only very annoyingly detail oriented people like me notice stuff like that, but if you have the budget, rent linens. I rented linens for my cake table, head table and cookie table to add a little flair but I didn't have the budget to do all the tables. My bridal party felt that the direction was unclear as to where to go and when (which was supposed to be handled by the staff and wedding coordinator) but my bridal party was a bit difficult so I am not sure if the staff is totally to blame on that. Even though the Omni William Penn is very expensive, it is nothing compared to other cities. A $30,000 wedding at the Omni would cost over $100,000 in any other major city. If you are a bride torn between two cities, pick the Omni in Pittsburgh, you'll get so much more bang for your buck. The package we purchased included a suite, and OMG was it amazing! It had three bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, full dining room, and an enormous bedroom with a gigantic king size bed. It was something out of a movie. The Omni graciously allowed me to check in early which was great. We had our ceremony and reception at the Omni so I got ready in my suite and all the bridesmaids came and got ready with me. We had stylists and make up people there too. It was really fun, and very convenient.

I am so glad we chose the William Penn for our reception! It is so beautiful in their rooms. They were very helpful in planning with us. We had a problem with our original site and only had 3 months to re-plan the whole thing. They understood our situation and helped us quickly get everything set. The food was also amazing.

The Omni was absolutely amazing! Although the prices may be higher than other venues, it was worth every single penny. They accomodated last minute lighting changes, had extra staff to direct each guest from entrance to cocktails to reception, added extra garnishes and liquors to our martini bar, and so much more. They even gave us the royal suite (that Obama stayed in--it was enormous) with a bottle of champagne and chocolate strawberries for each of the 3 nights we stayed. Our guests were so wowed by the entire hotel. Every person on staff is classy and welcoming. I cannot say enough good things about this venue. And the food was out of this world! One of the best meals I've ever eaten, and I'm a very picky eater!

The William Penn is gorgeous! We had our ceremony in the Urban room and our reception in the Grand Ballroom. Everything was great! The food was excellent! The head of catering was great to deal with and very accomodating to our specific needs.
As soon as I saw the room at The Omni William Penn Hotel I knew we had to have our wedding there. We had the reception here and everything was just amazing. The food, the people, the coordinator. Also, the room we stayed in was gorgeous.
Tony Lee and the crew at the Renaissance Hotel Pittsburgh are one of the best and most professional group I have worked with. As an event planner, I need to know that other vendors are doing what they say they will do to make the event the best for our clients. The Renaissance is over the top, every time! From the bell boys to the room reservations, clients are treated like ROCK STARS!!
There really is something to be said for going to a five star hotel. We feel like we got every penny of what we paid for, and so did our guests that also stayed here. Everyone said it was perfect. The staff was great at helping us set up a room block and they helped ensure that everyone had a joyful experience during their stay.

The Omni was over-the-top fabulous. Everything from the cocktail hour room to The Grand Ballroom for the reception was top notch. The professional staff, delicious food, luxurious accomodations, exceptional service-- EVERYTHING-- made our wedding day a dream come true.
