The Original Runner Company

The great reviews and the publicity this company has recently received made me very excited to order a runner for my daughter’s wedding. Like another reviewer I ignored the suspect pricing changes and other warning signs because I only wanted the best for my daughter. Unfortunately, it did not work out. Here are the main issues:
•The custom design was placed in the wrong area even though we had communicated the specifications several times.
•When I tried to talk to the owner and the other employees they basically told me I could not “prove” our conversations (but I do have the measurements we sent).
•When I said that I was going to post my negative experience I was told that their attorney would come after me for libel and warned that they have attorneys in my state.
•I asked for a full refund due to the inferior product and my request was refused.
It could be that this company has now gotten too big to provide quality runners, unless you are a movie star. Although others had a positive experience in the past I certainly did not and I regret that I used part of our wedding budget for a product that was not what I wanted and that we could not enjoy.

Could not be happier with the quality of service I received. My event's decor was incredibly simple, meaning that splurging a bit for a custom runner put a lot of pressure on it! But my painted runner was all the venue needed to tie the theme together. I was provided with a proof of the design that took my (detailed!) preferences into account, and even matched colors and fonts to make sure that the runner meshed with my printed materials and color scheme! I trusted the Original Runner Company to wow me, and they did!

I had a beutiful runner made by The Original Runner. Everything I asked for to be done to my runnner was cared for and more. The owner Julie was great. She was very helpful and accomadating. My now husband was amazed? Worth every cent!!

Oh My can you say UNBELIEVEABLE! I am so happy i had them design my runner. It was OUT OF THIS WORLD! they can be pricey but they are so worth it. My design is on their blog its a whole section about how you can take your invitation and make it into a runner. it has green pasiley design and has ACF in the middle. If you wish to check it out please do. I can also send a picture to anyone who wants to see it. It is beyond beautiful and they were wonderful to work with. They had it ready for me packaged and sealed ready to be layed out. 100% amazing!

I had the privilege of working very closely with the wonderful ladies at the Original Runner Company when I contacted them about designing the ceremony runner for my wedding. Their designers were enthusiastic and very helpful in brainstorming ways they could make my runner uniquely my own. While they have designs, fonts and templates to choose from, I was thrilled to learn that they will also custom create designs. I was able to incorporate one of my own drawings into the final design! Their artists did an amazing job - such talented people!
I love my runner so much I’m planning to cut out the painted monogram and have it framed. I recommend this company’s services for the bride who wants an amazing alternative (or in addition) to traditional décor.

For years I have adored the fabulous runners from TORC. Never thinking that I would actually have one, I purchased my runner during their annual sale and it was a STEAL!

They took my custom made monogram created by my stationer and precisely, perfectly and delicately painted it on my 50ft runner. I wanted this runner to frame my ceremony room and that it did!!!

My bridal party walked down the aisle comfortably, with ease and grace and I have to thank Julie and her amazing staff for this! The comfort was priceless!

Never once did I worry about what it would look like etc, because of their stellar reputation. Hiring the right vendors for your special day really does make a world of difference, if i could turn back the hands of time i would do it all over again SALE OR NO SALE

Their runners look pretty in pictures and are non-slip, yes, but their pricing is suspect and their quality control is lacking. I contacted them to get a quote on a runner that would be wider than their standard 42 inch wide runner. They replied that a 60 inch wide x 75 foot long runner would be $610, which would include the runner itself, their custom design service, and hand-painting my design on one end of the runner. Do you think they offered a discount because I supplied the professional artwork and didn’t need their design service? Nope. Do you think they gave me a different price because I only needed a 50 foot long runner? Nope. I had many phone calls and emails with Julie and Jennifer to try to understand the “logic” that went into this pricing. But regardless of the type of service provided or the length of the runner, $610 was what they said my 60 inch wide runner would be.

I had some inner turmoil over spending this much on a runner, but I went on and bought it. The problem is that the runner I received wasn’t what I’d paid for. Instead of being 60 inches wide, it was 58 inches wide. I didn’t even bother unrolling it all the way so I could see the design on the end. I contacted Julie and Jennifer and they said that the runners are provided by a supplier, that 60 inches is just an average, and that the 2 missing inches would not really make a difference. They should have said that up-front. Before I ordered the runner, my parents and I “tested” standing together and determined that even 60 inches wide would be kinda tight for the three of us and my big ballgown. And, um, for that exorbitant cost, I wanted the 60 inch runner that was advertised to me. After some discussion, Original Runner Company did give me a full refund of the $610 runner and the extra $87 I paid for return shipping.

A friend of mine heard the saga and still wanted me to have their non-slip runner. She surprised me with a plain runner (no design) from Original Runner Company, at a cost of about $250. It was 59.5 inches wide, and it barely fit me and my parents. Note to the Original Runner Company: a couple of inches does make a difference!

I am a fan of the original runner company. They are my "go to" company for a unique wedding gift. I was so pleased with the banner that I ordered for my mom's anniversary, that I gave a customized aisle runner as a gift for 3 more weddings! I have another wedding in November and will be sure to contacting them soon! The quality of the runner was impressive, but the ability of the artists is uncanny and they can really do anything! My mom had a couple of beer glasses "cheersing", while my friends had florals, a monogram, and a rendered cross and bible quote. The best part is, my friend's mom is making a quilt out of her monogram and my mom has her beer glasses framed for her pub! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! You'll be hearing from me again soon! For the 4th time! THANK YOU!

I could write a book about how satisfied we were with our custom aisle runner and the attention Julie and her team gave to our needs, wants, and vision. It was one of our "splurges" and we didn't regret a dime. The runner was completed faster than promised, looked exactly the way we designed with Julie and the colors matched our swatch perfectly. She worked with us to help us get what we wanted and meet our budget and I'm so glad we trusted her to create the perfect runner for our day. Guests could not stop talking about the runner and many even stopped to take a photo with it alone. It absolutely made our ceremony decor! Plus, Julie and her team checked back in with us after the wedding to wish us well and make sure we were satisfied. They even asked to share our wedding photos on their popular blog. Honestly, I can't imagine how anyone could be dissatisfied with their service from Original Runner Company. If they're saying they got screwed or mistreated, they're lying. Julie is just too sweet of a person and too professional to ever let that go down on her watch. I highly recommend them and I insist a custom aisle runner be one of your "splurges" too. You will not be sorry, i promise. Is there a "like 100 times over" button anywhere I can check off? :-)

All we have to say is this was a great experience and we got exactly what we wanted.

We wanted a custom runner with our continued theme of lovebirds and we shared our ideas and allowed Original Runners to create the proof we had one a few suggestions and we received a beautiful runner that we will have cut and framed for hanging.

Excellent staff and was quick and efficient.

I wanted something simple for my beach wedding - maybe our initials, maybe just a border, but then then owner suggested we make the runner look just like sand with our names looking like they written in the "sand" with a stick. I was curious how that would look so they sent me a small swatch sample of a letter on what the background would look like. That was it!

The asile runner was GORGEOUS - and not only that -it blended in so well with the actual sand that everyone marvelled at how much they thought our names were really written in the sand! They couldn't understand how when we walked on it, our names didn't get ruined. Like advertised, it didn't move at all, even in the high winds of that day. This was really important because both of our parents have walking disabilities and the runner actually made it possible for them to walk down the aisle with us with ease as opposed to being scared of the uneven sand.

The owner also suggested that she could make an original pillow and flower basket for our ring bearer and flower girl. They were just as unique and gorgeous as the aisle runner.

I would definitely order an aisle runner from this company again. The professionalism and responsiveness to our needs and the creativity can't be matched. In fact, I have referred this company at least five friends and all were beyond thrilled.

As a planner in South Florida, I have seen almost every type of runner there is on the market! There is NO QUESTION that the Original Runner Company has the absolute BEST product there is. I had never heard of an aisle runner before I saw this company on TV. I thought it would really help the decor of my wedding since we were getting married in an art museum and there wasn't really an official looking aisle. I couldn't decorate much either so the runner was a great solution for us. We had an unusual design on our wedding invites and wanted to incorporate it into the design of our runner. When I called them, I didn't know what to expect. Their website looked cool but I had no idea how great the runner would eventually turn out. Needless to say, I was very impressed. Their friendly staff was really accommodating. I corresponded with one of their designers, Jen, several times, sending her a swatch of fabric to match color and approving their artist's drawing of my custom design. I bought an aisle runner here. It was stunning. My church required a linen or sticky-backed runner. So, I bought one for the same price as renting one locally from the Original Runner Co. They will customize a runner for you but I bought a pre-printed one called bed of roses. It just pops in my pictures! Everyone commented on how elegant it looked in the church. I simply placed my order online and it arrived just beautifully. Highly reccomened for a top quality accessory at the ceremony.

From the minute I first called, I was blown away with the ease of ordering and the quality of customer service. Our runner was exquisite and no one could believe it was hand painted. It worked extremely well over two surfaces (they laid the dance floor before they should have). My father was able to comfortably use his electric scooter in the processional and the recessional.

Thank you for creating the most beautiful runner for our wedding. It was important to me to honor my Dad that day and the star you placed on the runner close to the alter was absolutely perfect. When my sister marries, the initials of her and her groom will also be added to this runner, after which my Mother plans to cut out each set of initials and frame them so they can enjoy a special place in our homes.

My concern that day was for safety, as grandparents attending were in a wheelchair and a walker. Not to worry - the runner never moved. As a matter of fact it held to the floor like installed carpeting!

My aisle runner from "The Original Aisle Runner" totally made my dream aisle look complete. It was gorgeous! My mom found the runner on-line and placed the order for us as a suprise - I was going to try to get away with a "use a 40% coupon on a plastic/cloth type", and I am so glad that she suprised me with the runner! It came beautifully packaged, and actually arrived a few days before we were expecting it. The quality is fabulous, and I have since loaned it out to several of my friends getting married - and they have all walked on it! (It is kind of becoming it's own tradition!) as a florist who deals with runners I can honestly testify the quality of this product. The runners look great, wash well and ARE non-slip. This is the ONLY runner we use now.
