The Oxford Club Spa and Salon

I arranged to have my hair done at the Oxford Club Spa and Salon for one reason: Malissa Knight. She is OUTSTANDING. She is among those in the forefront of her industry, in my opinion. She won a contest because of the quality and style of her work and got to work in fashion week in Australia - not gonna get much better than that. Unless, of course, you want bridal hair. Malissa is professional, friendly, and so accommodating. She wanted to help me create the look that I wanted; she talked to me about my ideas and looked at photos of styles that I liked. When she tried one of the styles that I thought that I would like and it did not suit me, we both agreed that another alternative would be better. I was very impressed with Malissa's ability to put her knowledge - which is far superior to mine - to work to my vision happen. For me, I wanted a look that was vintage but had a modern twist. And she was able to do it. She used string to tie my hair up in a low side knotted bun, so she only used a few bobby pins on my hair. Remarkable, and such a relief at the end of the night! I definitely recommend Malissa if you want your hair done for your wedding, but don't want to look like you have traditional bridal hair; if you want a stylish hairdo, but don't want to look like a completely different person (just an even better version of yourself); or if you want a up-to-date look that requires a knowledge of current fashion and trends. Also, Kara, the coordinator at the Oxford Spa was fantastic. We had twelve women that got their hair done for our wedding. Kara was flexible in making appointments, so we were able to get finished in time - AND she even arranged for the stylists to come to work early in order to start our group. That is an unusual level of service!

Could not have asked for a better place to get pampered on my wedding day! The entire staff was amazing. The trial hair and make up run through went just as well as any bride-to-be could imagine. On the wedding day, we had an Oxford car pick us up from our hotel and from there, we had nothing but an enjoyable time! No stress! No fuss! NO mess! I absolutely loved it there!!! And, did I mention everyone is so professional as well?!

First off, Audrey, the coordinator at the Oxford, is fantastic. I had a huge group in on the day of my wedding, from ages 6 to 92 (I'm not joking). She was super-flexible about accommodating everyone and adjusting the appointments when conflicts arose (which they did at least four or five times). Audrey was very responsive to emails and calls, and gave us the personal attention you'd expect from the Oxford.

Malissa did my wedding hairstyle, and was also very flexible and nice to work with. She did a beautiful job and was fun and relaxed. Overall a great experience.

I didn't love all of the stylists' work on my bridesmaids, but Audrey and Malissa were both great.

The Oxford Club Spa is a fairly typical higher end spa. I know I could have had my make-up and hair done for a little less, but the location was convenient to my ceremony and reception location. The women who did my hair and make-up were fabulous. They actually listened to what I wanted and I didn't walk out looking like someone totally different. I did have some problems getting my run through set up. It took several phone calls, being left on hold for long periods of time (even getting hung up on once) and messages before the right person finally got back to me. I made my appointment for the wedding day during my run through so there was no problems there. So all in all-I highly recommend the stylists and technicians...the reception staff leaves a lot to be desired.

I went with my Maid of Honor to get my hair and makeup done the morning of the wedding. They did a good job, but for as much as we paid I expected it to be really amazing.
