This baker is one of the most talented women I have ever met. She sat with us until all of our questions, thoughts, and concerns were answered. I brought with me a few pictures and she had a few designs based on our wedding theme. We agreed on a style she had never created before (A 4 tier style with small tridot clusters, thin ribbon, and fresh orchids and roses). Two of our cake flavors were recipes the baker was familiar with (Lemon cake with raspberry filling, pumpkin spice with cream cheese filling). The third was a recipe from my family that my husband LOVES (Chocolate Stout cake with Chocolate Ganache filling)! The baker agreed to trial the recipe and see if she could work with it. The end result was beyond our expectations! I gasped when I saw the cake fully decorated. The true test would be the first cut. Again I was delighted and amazed at the delicous and perfect consistancy of my piece! My husband and I cut into different layers, and I immediately dove in for a taste of his piece. It too was unbelievable! The compliments we are still receiving regarding the wonderful cake continue to come in. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with The Party Cake.

I work with you to create the most yummy confection using your inspiration (a photo, a color, your dress, your flowers, etc) and my cake talents. All of my cakes are made from scratch, using the best ingredients available, in my licensed residential kitchen in Newburyport, MA.

I will gladly arrange a private tasting/cake consultation for you at a time and place that is convenient for you.

What are your tasting hours?

By appointment only. Weekend appointments will be accomodated if it does not conflict with a cake order.

Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?

All cakes are priced based on the number of servings and the complexity of the design. Prices range From $3.50 to $10.00 per serving.

Does the price include the top tier of the cake?

Yes,the price includes the top tier if it will be served on the day of the wedding. Many couples decide to have a small cake freshly prepared for their 1st anniversary. I will provide a complimentary 6 inch cake, to be delivered localy, one year after your wedding.

Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?

All cakes are costom creations designed just for you. We can work with your ideas, photos, colors, etc.

What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?

All of my cakes are prepared to order from fresh ingredients (real butter, fresh eggs, King Arthur Flour, etc

On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?

As I book one cake per date, it is advisable to contact me as soon as you have your date set, usually 4 to 6 months before.If I have a date free, I can accomodate a smaller window of time.

How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?

As a small custom baker, I book no more than two wedding cakes for any given weekend and only one per day.

Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?

I will decorate your cake with fresh, non-toxic flowers provided by your florist.

Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?

All cake orders are for delivery only. Delivery within 20 miles of Newburyport is free. Beyond 20 miles the cost is $1.00 per mile, one way.

Q. How can I schedule a tasting /consultation appointment?
A. Please call (978)358-7484 or email info@thepartycake.com. Your consultation (for two people only) will include the tasting of up to three each of cake, filling and icing flavors.

Q. Can we order wedding cup cakes instead of a traditional cake for our wedding?
A. Wedding cupcakes are popular and can be created and displayed to be a special and delicious centerpiece for your event.
My cupcakes can be baked, filled and decorated with the same wonderful flavors and frostings as a cake. Prices range from $2.50 to $5.00 each depending on the complexity of design.
