After months of searching for a venue, we found The Perry House. This place is beautiful and the house itself is so charming. I love the victorian look to this house and the view from this place is amazing! Girls, the bridal room is to die for! It is so cute and I was so excited to get ready there. Richard and Mary Lisa were great to work with and they both met our expectations as our day of coordinator. Richard was able to put my mind at ease during the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. Throughout the whole process they will be there for you answering any questions or concerns. I will definitely be recommending this venue to anyone looking in getting married in Monterey.
Words can't describe how happy we were with The Perry House in Monterey, CA for our daughter's wedding this past weekend! Every guest commented on the friendliness of the staff and how helpful they were in ensuring everyone had a wonderful time at our wedding! Many guests had stated they had been to many weddings but ours exceeded expectations with the beautiful views, flowers, gardens, and delicious food! They also commented on the efficiency in how smoothly/organized the wedding progressed with our 'behind the scenes' coordinator, Mary Lisa! We never had to request anything ... Mary Lisa was always on top of everything ... and the wedding was a huge success!!! Thank you Mary Lisa and the wonderful Staff at The Perry House for making our daughter's wedding so special and delightfully memorable!!! We and all of our guests had a wonderful time and we thank you for your wonderful help and hospitality!!!
Before I even visited the Perry House I already knew this would be the place where I would have the wedding I always dreamed of. The Perry House is the most beautiful, unique wedding venue on the Peninsula. From the moment I initially made contact with the staff at Events By Classic, I knew I was in great hands. When I finally saw the Perry House in person, I was completely blown away. It has such a quaint, elegant and romantic feel. The view from the upper balcony is stunning, with views spanning over the entire Monterey Harbor and all the way to Moss Landing, making for great photo opportunities and a good spot for guests to mingle during the cocktail hour. We did the roaming butler passed reception which all our guests loved. They were free to meander around the house and gardens, sit around the fire pit and cocktail tables while the food came to them. And of course, the food was incredible. Our wedding included a delicious martini salad, stuffed mushrooms, pear and Gorgonzola pizza (baked in their outside pizza oven), ahi tuna skewers, skirt steak, and butternut squash ravioli. I knew I wanted around 80 people at my wedding, and this was the perfect spot, accommodating up to around 120 ppl I believe. My guests called it the "perfect" wedding and can't stop talking about the location, food, and staff.
Jana, my main contact throughout the entire planning process was absolutely amazing. She is the sweetest person ever, and was so helpfu every step of the way. I could not have not asked for a better event coordinator! And Jennifer, the event captain took wonderful care of my husband and I, even going out of her way to make sure we ate and tried all the food during the reception.
Not only did the staff take care of the reception, but they also put together my ceremony at Berwick Park in Pacific Grove. They set up everything- chairs, the wooden arch and a table with lemon water for guests. It was beautiful, and I cannot thank this lovely staff enoug
I can not say enough nice things about The Perry House, and the staff, and especially Mary Lisa. I planned my wedding from Washington and so I needed someone who would handle all the details and make sure my wedding day was perfect. She responded immediately to phone calls, emails, and even did phone conferences with my maid of honor and me. I didn't have to worry about any logistics like set up, clean up, keeping the flow of the day going, passing of food, everything ran smoothly and it was all handled by the staff.
On top of great service, the location is beautiful! You really don't need to add decoration to the venue since the place is designed to be beautiful for weddings. Lots of other venues you have to add so much to make it look like it's not just a conference room or a big blank room and that is not the case here.
We just love The Perry House, and we're so glad it's where we got married!

When I and my husband chose Perry House as our reception venue, we knew we would have nothing to worry about on our wedding day! We chose the Perry House because the owners and staff seemed to take great pride in the venue, their food, and customer service. The staff was extremely flexible. When we mentioned that we loved brunch they went out of their way to create a special brunch menu for our wedding day. Since we live in Georgia we also wanted to have a shrimp and grits bar at our wedding which is very common in the South but not common in California. The chef went above and beyond creating this special menu item and even ordered the same grits that our favorite brunch place in Atlanta uses. On our wedding day the shrimp and grits bar was a huge hit at our reception!! Everyone loved it. All the food was amazing!! The ham simply melts in your mouth. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were taking care of, even saving us some of the appetizers that we missed while taking pictures. Everything that day went so smoothly, we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful wedding venue. Mary Lisa, our catering coordinator and our peace of mind day of coordinator was amazing! She always responded right away to emails and phone calls which was wonderful since I was planning a wedding from accross the country.We are so happy we chose the Perry House for our wedding reception.All the little details of the day came together perfectly with the help of the Perry House staff and Mary Lisa. We couldn't have chosen a more beautiful venue or a venue with more dedicated, amazing staff and food than the Perry House.
The Perry House was absolutely amazing! We could not have imagined a more perfect wedding venue. What makes the Perry House so amazing is that it is a truly unique and well designed historic landmark with so much charm and warmth. All of our guests were impressed not only by the beautiful view (oh and 68 degree sunny and clear weather in November!) but by the well planned design of the entire property. We had 98 guests and both the ceremony and reception went smoothly without a hiccup.
We had a wonderful experience with all the staff. We did use Alicia Phillips for the Peace of Mind Coordination and it was worth every penny! Alicia was so organized and responsive each and every time I called or emailed her. She even lent her opinion and reasoned with me when I was going over the top...Thanks for keeping me in line and sane (and in our budget). Tina, the captain, was also wonderful. Tina continually checked with both me and my husband to make sure that not only our guests were well taken care of but that we were taken care of too. I can't tell you how many times Tina brought me a glass of water throughout the night because guests kept ripping water out of my hands for photos and I was thirsty!
Even two months after the wedding our guests are still commenting on how amazing every detail of our wedding was- our guest were most impressed by the food.
If you are looking for an intimate venue with charm and personality I highly recommend considering The Perry House. The Perry House has impeccable service, delicious food and is not your typical cookie cutter wedding venue (also very affordable). It's classy and guests will be talking about it months after the wedding!
We had to use another venue (The Old Whaling Station Adobe), but The Perry House was our first choice because it is all-inclusive. This review is from the e-mails and meeting we had, not an actual wedding.
***Affordable & Accommodating
The best part about the Perry House is that you don't have to worry about anything. They take care of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception setup and cleanup. They are also one of the few places that have no corkage fee or cake cutting fee, but they do have a liquor license and provide wine and champagne at reasonable cost (the best part is you only pay for what you drink).
I personally always wanted an outdoor wedding, but it can be difficult with the elements and unpredictable Monterey weather. The Perry House has top grade AstroTurf so it's always green and ladies heels won't sink in. They provide several heaters so you can enjoy the dinner under the stars without freezing. If it rains they do have the house as a backup or two tent options (a clear tent that is more expensive and regular tent) so that you can still get married outside with the amazing view of the Monterey Bay and Wharf.
Since the kitchen is on site, they can accommodate surprise dietary needs of the guests. They assured us that our guests will be taken care of as well as the vendors who will also be fed.
The people there are also extremely professional and always respond in a timely manner, which is a must for frantic brides. They are willing to work with you and are always friendly and genuine. Ask for Alicia who will make wedding planning...
The Perry House has a perfect location near downtown Monterey, venue was spacious for the number of guest we wanted (80), The view was amazing, historical house with a story and recently remodeled. This has become a very popular venue and for good reason because it is amazing, We got the last weekend available in October when we booked it in Jan. We had the ceremony in the garden and it was beautiful. I was worried about the cost, but once I calculated what you get (tables, chairs, table clothes, napkins, heat lamps, no cake cutting fee, chalk board menus, and more) it would have been the same and more hassle to organize rental companies at a different venue. Some things you get at Perry that you won't get other places is a pizza oven, fire pit, Local Beer, Tvs for personnel made dvds, and awesome brand new sound system throughout the property. The Perry House Staff is amazing!!!! Our wedding coordinator Jana was great. She met with us to go over our day several months before the wedding and gave us great ideas. We had a nautical wedding theme and they provided some cute touches the day of that were perfect. There were so many staff the day of the event they took great care of our guest. The food was sooooo good. Use the pizza oven it is a great show and good pizza. We did the roving dinner (cheapest option). I was worried about this working, but it worked great. We still had tables in the garden and inside the house around the dance floor for those who wanted to sit. Most people did sit down, but others mingled. Our small plates where the flank steak and local sea bass. They both were really good!!! Also, there was plenty of food for everyone. The only Con I can think of is you can only have a DJ from two selected companies because of their new sound system. We chose Colin St. John from DNA Entertainment and he was great. If you want to save money you can plug in a MP3 player with a set play list for a fee.
My wedding at the Perry House was a fairy-tale. The staff, especially Mary Lisa, were so accommodating and responsive. They responded quickly to my requests before the wedding. The reception went so smoothly. My guests are still raving about the gorgeous views and great staff. Many said that it was the best wedding food they have ever had! I highly recommend the Perry House and Classic Catering!
The Perry House and its staff were nothing short of amazing throughout our entire wedding planning process and on our big day. We worked mostly with Alicia and she was fantastic!! The venue is gorgeous and they pay attention to every detail making it extra unique and special. The staff is top notch, very professional, friendly, accommodating and flexible. They are so genuine and truly care about the couples they work with. They really wanted to make our day perfect and did. We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our overall experience with the Perry House and Alicia. I could go on for days! Planning was always fun and efficient and the wedding day went off smoothly without a hitch. Our guests had an absolute blast and are STILL raving about the venue, food and service! Many of our guests said it was the best food they've ever eaten at a wedding. For us as the bride and groom, the day really couldn't have been more perfect and we owe that to Alicia and the rest of the staff. The entire experience from start to finish couldn't have been any better. This venue is amazing!! I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!!
Where do I begin? I have never seen a wedding executed so perfectly! When we were looking at venues, we came across the Perry house and fell in love with it immediately. It had a completely unique feel to it and the views were spectacular. It was a bit out of our budget so they invited us to a tasting before committing. The food and presentation were AMAZING and we were sold instantly.
We worked with Alicia and we were so lucky to have her as our event coordinator. She was such a dream to work with. We did a lot of our decorations ourselves and she took care of setting up everything including our ceremony items and centerpieces. What she did for us FAR exceeded our expectations. She was on top of everything, incredibly organized and so supportive. She made everything seamless and beautiful.
Patricia, the banquet captain, was so helpful and made sure everything was taken care of. The staff at the Perry House was also incredible. The wait staff and bartenders were very attentive, professional and made my guests feel like VIP. My father was impressed with how detailed the staff was with even the silverware setup. Everything was placed perfectly and very clean. I had a guest with a severe peanut allergy and let Alicia know ahead of time what his needs were and the staff went out of their way to accommodate him. For the first time in five years, he actually ate the food he was served at an event and survived! He was so impressed with how well the staff took care of him.
The food was unbelievable! We chose the interactive stations and everyone loved it! It was very fresh and delicious! The menu offers many unique options that set it apart from other venues.
I had several of my guests tell us that that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The staff and venue were the reason for that. Events By Classics and the Perry House staff were flawless. I am so grateful to them for how perfect our wedding day was. We are so lucky we found this place!
We had our wedding at Berwick Park and our reception at the Perry house this year, and the Perry House is fantastic!!!! We highly recommend the Perry House to couples looking for a beautiful and unique venue that is low key, with great views, and a casual outdoorsy, California style feel. The venue is beautiful. It is a restored Victorian house, overlooking the Monterey bay, with great views of the bay from the second floor. It also has firepits, pretty gardens, and several different rooms for the guests to mingle. The food is fantastic. For our wedding, we had steak with chimichurri sauce, pizzas grilled fresh in a pizza oven, and some great seafood appetizers. The food was so fresh and we got tons of compliments. I was sad that, as the bride, I was so busy talking to people I didn't have time to eat more of it. Also, the service was great. Alicia was our day of coordinator, and she was uber organized, friendly, helpful and practical, and helped make our day fantastic. One thing that was especially great about her was that she helped us brainstorm ideas that were more economical so we could stay within our budget, in contrast to other vendors we interviewed who seemed somewhat inflexible on pricing, etc..
My husband and I had a beautiful wedding at the Perry House this year. Our wedding was not only beautiful and the food delicious, but it was EASY. We didn't need a florist. We didn't need a separate catering company. We didn't even need a baker. The property is so lovely on its own that there is really no need for additional flowers, and Classic Catering's food is a perfect 10. They even made us our wedding dessert (we had brownies and ice cream, and it was perfect). Alicia was attentive and incredibly helpful, and thankfully guided us along with what things we would need to consider for the big day.
Most importantly, our guests were elated with the venue, the food, the attentiveness of the staff, the food, the alcohol selection, and of course, the food!
The house has been remodeled, and it is pristine and tastefully done. The decks from the house have a perfect view of the bay. We cannot recommend the Perry House enough to any couple wishing to have a carefree wedding. I never imagined our wedding would be so free of complications and worry. What a wonderful thing for a bride to be able to say!

I just recently had my wedding at The Perry House and it was amazing!! The staff was wonder and the venue was perfect! We used the adorable bridal room to get ready and it was perfect for pictures. Also, I really liked that my guests could roam around the entire house. The owners did a fantastic job restoring this old historic mansion! Events by Classic have mastered the art of roaming receptions where guest are free to move around and eat when they'd like. I was worried about how this might work out, but my guests loved that they didn't have to stay at one table the entire wedding. They have a great fire pit and a super cute carriage room that has a beautiful stained glass roof. Plus, there was a beautiful view of the Monterey Bay from the top floor. This venue was everything I wanted and more for my wedding!! I would definitely recommend The Perry House for a memorable wedding!!
The Perry House was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding reception! The pictures of the Perry House do not compare to seeing the beautiful place in person. My husband and I looked at many hotels and venues for our reception, but once we saw the Perry House, we fell in love with the venue. The setting and atmosphere is perfect for a small and intimate wedding. The Perry House has more than you can ask for with an awesome balcony with views of the bay, a beautiful garden setting, an outdoor oven, classic ballroom, fire pit, elegant bars, bridal dressing room, and yes, even beautiful and clean restrooms! Other venues do not compare or even come close to what the Perry House has to offer with delicious food and impeccable service!
With a beautiful venue comes absolutely delicious food and excellent service. Alicia was my event coordinator from the beginning to the end and she was amazing! She is very professional and always replied to my emails and inquiries right away. She was on top of everything and made sure our wedding day went smooth. I would trust Alicia with any event that I’m planning. On top of her awesome service, the food was so amazing! Our guests LOVED the food and servings! The food is definitely worth the price that you pay. The food is freshly cooked and really tastes like meals from a five star restaurant. Even the food were prepared and presented in very elegant ways. The servers were very polite and ensured that our guests were well fed and comfortable. The Perry House has all the radiance, charm, amazing food, and excellent service that most other venues and hotels don’t have. The Perry House was a dream come true to hold our summer wedding. I can not say how many wedding guests have commented on the amazing food quality, the staff attentiveness and kindness and the events ambiance. From the moment we stepped foot onto view the property, Alicia and her staff have been going above and beyond. We had Monterey Weddings (a part of the Perry house) set up our beach ceremony, at the rehearsal I was worried about how the beach was going to look with all the seaweed, driftwood and some trash. On the day of the wedding..the staff that set up the chairs and our hoopa made an isle with all the seeweed and bark. It was so beautiful I could not have imagined it any better.
The staff at the reception was top notch...the servers and bar tenders attended every guests need. They even modified the meal to accommodate my vegetarian sister. I had not thought of that while planning the dinner. I never set foot in the bar area because the staff was constantly bringing myself and the groom food and drinks. They even served a Russian heritage appetizer that I had made from home. They made sure it was warmed properly and served it just like all their Hors d'œuvres. Some of our family did not understand the "rooming" reception but I stuck with my gut and it was perfect. No sitting charts and no being stuck at your seat. Everyone loved being able to mingle and meet everyone. The food definitely found their way to every guest, trush me. By the last entree all guests were so stuffed!! The filet was absolutely the best I have ever tasted. My favorite dish is the Sea bass, do not miss this. The venue looked so perfect at night with the lights in all the trees. The stairs were so fun to do our grand entrance. My final comment is that you must work with Alicia. She is god sent. She is calm and listens to you and really hears what your asking. She is the reason my dream wedding was perfect! I recommend her as your day of too!
My husband and I recently had our wedding at the Perry House and it was truly the wedding of our dreams. After looking at multiple venues throughout the area, we settled on the Perry House for several reasons: 1) The spectacular views and overall environment of the house really set it apart - The house is filled with truly intimate nooks and crannies that offer guests wonderful experiences - a cozy fire pit, stunning balcony views, beautiful garden setting, awesome classic ballroom dance area, two stylish bars, a swanky lounge floor with an incredible bay window seating area, an outdoor pizza oven and a beautiful stained-glass dome in the carriage house are just a view of the amazing elements that won not only our hearts, but the guests at our weddings hearts as well. EVERYONE who attended our wedding had something special to share with us about a moment they enjoyed in one of the many wonderful locations on the property. 2) THE FOOD! It is amazing. I had read multiple reviews touting the high quality of the food, and, they are spot on. My husband and I were very impressed with the initial tasting, and chose many of our menu options from those we tasted. But even the items we hadn't previewed exceeded our expectations and garnered rave reviews from many, many guests. The live pizza oven station was the talk of the reception and added a unique element that will have our guests will be talking about for a long time. More than 10 people told me personally it was the best wedding food they had ever had - and its true, its not "wedding food" its restaurant quality food that is prepared and presented in impressive ways. Not a single item was disappointing, even the veggie skewers were a hit! 3) The service was impeccable. We booked the venue over a year in advance, and throughout the entire processes, we were impressed with the responsive, open and flexible service. Alicia was right on top of everything and patiently answered every nit-picky question we threw her way! Isabella, who was the captain at our event, was amazing. She was the calm, patient rock we needed as our reception unfolded. She did it all - from calmly keeping us on track (and well fed!) to keeping a watch over guests who may be having too much fun, she was a consummate professional who impressed not only us, but our parents and family as well. I was really able to relax completely, let everything go, and ENJOY the amazing wedding we had.
We are not from the Monterey area, so communication was very important and was outstanding with all the staff at the Perry House.
I would recommend them a thousand times over, and am already trying to figure out a way we can hold another party at the house in the future. SO many guests described our wedding as "perfect" and it wouldn't have come close without the Perry House and all of its amenities. THIS is the place you want to have your wedding in the Monterey area!
Perry House was a beautiful venue. The food and the service were terrific. What made the day wonderful was the professional behavior of the staff from the set- up, the food service, the music, etc. The day went so smoothly. It was perfect. Many guests commented that is was the nicest wedding they had ever attended.
The Perry House was amazing! We knew the second we saw it in person that it would be the perfect venue for our April wedding. Our event coordinator, Alicia, was absolutely fantastic and made planning a breeze. The venue is so tastefully decorated and maintained - all of our guests were amazed and we heard over and over again how nice everything was. We chose to do creation stations and a romaing reception and it worked out perfectly - the food was great and our guests were able to socialize and eat in a relaxed comfortable fashion. The actual day of the wedding, Alicia and the Perry House staff do everything to make sure there are no hiccups! It was great to have some decmopresion time to relax in the upstairs room before our grand entrance - an ample hors d'ouevre selection and drinks were brought to us (and members of our wedding party) upstairs. At the reception, glasses were never empty before a staff member refilled them. I highly reccomend all brides consider the Perry House for their upcoming weddings!
Mary Lisa and Classic Catering are the BEST! When my husband and I decided to get married in Carmel, we made appointments with several caterers in the area and were impressed with Classic Catering from the start. At the tasting, we were greeted by Mary Lisa who was friendly, patient and very helpful answering our questions. We left the tasting confident that we would not only use the catering services, but we also knew that Mary Lisa would be the perfect coordinator! The food was great - we especially liked the crab cakes and beef skewers, and the bruschetta was fantastic! Our guests loved the food and were extremely impressed with Mary Lisa. We were so happy with the way the day went, and we know it wouldn't have been as smooth or as special without Mary Lisa! I truly had peace of mind knowing that she was taking care of everything the day of the wedding. Mary Lisa and the staff at Classic Catering are very down to earth and personable, and I would recommend them without hesitation!
Gatherings was the perfect venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. Even though it rained, the staff transformed this charming Victorian House into an outdoor beach wedding. The staff made all of our guests feel comfortable and at home. They were extremely polite. All of the stress from planning a wedding, especially from a long distance, was relieved from the professionalism and dedication demonstrated at Gatherings. They made every detail of my dream wedding come to life. They will always hold a special place in our heart and memories. We are forever grateful to Gatherings and their remarkable staff.

I found the perfect man who gave me the perfect ring with a perfect proposal. And immediately afterward started the process of planning for our perfect day. I wanted our wedding day to be both special and memorable for, not just myself and the groom, but for everyone there sharing our sacred event. Being a stickler for perfection, I usually take the attitude of “If you want things done right, do them yourself.” And as the bride, there were hundreds upon hundreds of details from the big to the small that I needed to take care of. I like the unconventional, the unique and--let me just admit it--the better things. So when it came to deciding the details regarding our wedding reception I had no worries because I knew everything was in good hands with Alicia and the rest of the Perry House staff. They made planning for my wedding reception amazingly easy.
A beautiful yellow house nestled on the hills overlooking the Monterey Bay, the Perry House is a Victorian sanctuary of simple charm with so much to offer. It is the perfect spot if you want to celebrate your wedding in an elegant, quaint locale. Providing first-class full service catering and event coordination, the Perry House ensured the most professional and customized service for my special celebration. It truly was an over-the-top experience.
Their backyard with an always-green lawn allow your guests to mingle or to use as an extra dining area. Here your guests can be wowed by the chefs preparing their dishes in the wood fired pizza oven. And those chilly Monterey evenings will not hamper the event because there are plenty of “mushroom heaters” plus a fire pit to keep the guests toasty. The carriage house held our photowall* for the guests to enjoy, and there is a bar and extra seating room there as well. May I also mention that the stain glass window in the carriage house is gorgeous; yet one other thing for your guests to gawk at other than the dress and cake. Not many halls offer something as special as that.
The upper level has a second bar plus a balcony with a great view of the Bay below. There is also a great alcove for you and your guests to sit and chit chat away from the festivities below in the ballroom. The bridal suite is also located on the top floor. Inside is a large restroom for you and the bridemaids to powder your nose plus a large mirror making for great photo shots of you in your wedding gown.
The delicacies prepared by the Perry House still get my mouth to water. First the appetizers were passed out by butlers. My husband and I still talk about the coconut shrimp; I complain that I just didn’t have enough of them. Plus there were tons of fruit, cheeses and crackers as the guests waited for our arrival. The main courses were served by the chefs themselves. My husband’s friends love to reminisce about how they each had their fill and then some of the tri tip and the tenderloin.
Alicia was my reception coordinator. We talked at length about my wants and the details I was incorporating. She knew exactly what to do. When the husband and I arrived after the ceremony and saw how she set up the decorations, our jaws dropped. Everything was more than perfect. Alicia totally executed my visions without fail.
It has been a couple of months since the event. My guests still rave about everything about the reception. And I so grateful for everything that the Perry House crew has done to make my wedding such a hit for both the groom and me plus our guests. It was such an unbelievable success! My husband and I got married here in Nov. 2011. It was the best choice we ever made! If we could go back and do it again, we would. Everyone we worked with was exceptional, especially Alicia. The wedding day went off without a hitch and we didn't have to worry about anything. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the venue, the food and the staff. First of all, people who you will work with you are very, very friendly and really want to make sure that everything goes smooth not only during the preparation but also during the wedding! They make everything as simple as possible for you! Do you want colorful tablecloths for your reception? No problem! Do you need pretty and elegant table center pieces? No problem, it is already included! Do you want the best, the most delicious food for your guests! You will get it! Do you want to have the most caring captain during the event who will make sure that everything goes according to the plan, who will bring you a plate with food while you busy chatting with guests and who will offer the same service to your guests? You got it! This was the best experience especially for me since I had to plan my wedding from a different city. It was absolutely gorgeous and memorable. I wish I could go back :)
My only complain is that I didn't get quick responses to my emails (I hate phone calls!). However, if you do call you will get all your questions answered right away and very politely.

We held our ceremony and reception at the Perry House and could not have been more satisfied. The venue is wonderful - it is intimate and spacious at the same time. The food was fantastic, our guests were raving about how good everything was. We were also very impressed with all of the servers and staff during the event - everyone was incredibly friendly and accomodating.
Alicia and everyone else at the Perry House are great to work with. We worked with Alicia on all of the details leading up to the wedding and highly recommend her. She is professional, friendly and very helpful.
Overall, we highly recommend the Perry House as a place to hold your wedding!!
My wedding here in September was quite simply- perfect. Weeks later, my guests are STILL talking about the food, the view, the furnishings, the staff-- people are lobbying us to renew our vows already just so they can come back! The staff at this location put love and hard work into every detail of the venue, and it shows. When we first visited them to see the property, the head chef was in the midst of sandblasting one of the rooms! Everyone here clearly put in their effort, and the whole property just radiates elegance and charm.
The bridal suite upstairs was perfect for getting ready, and provided a nice place for a few of the littlest ones to have a nap during the later hours. Every inch of the property is perfect for photographs, and there's ample parking nearby.
We had about 85 guests and it felt nicely filled, never crowded. The pizza oven and MASHED POTATO BAR were enormous hits, and the staff at Classic was wonderful about helping us find our other vendors.
I honestly can't think of one single way the wedding could have been better!
My new husband and I can not thank Gatherings enough for making our wedding day so spectacular! Our wedding was held at the Perry house on 9/4/11 it was labor day weekend and a very busy one in Monterey. Mary Lisa our wedding coordinator was absolutely amazing through out the whole year of planning and the day of. Originally my husband and I booked our wedding at Gatherings first location "gatherings" however 5 months before our wedding we found out they had purchased "The Perry House" and we knew we had to change the venue. The Perry House was just beautiful and perfect. It was no problem at all, Gatherings made it so easy to change location and wedding date.
The wedding day was absolutely perfect! we had our rehearsal that morning and our officiant with Mary Lisa made the whole thing easy and very fun. The whole day Mary Lisa made sure she was available over the phone and of course she was amazing at keeping us on schedule even though we had no idea traffic was going to be so heavy because it was a holiday weekend. The ceremony was scheduled to start at 3:30pm but had to start at 4pm because the groom and my dad were stuck in traffic. Mary Lisa made sure to keep everyone calm and relaxed and managed to keep us on schedule even after the 30 minute delay. The Food was out of this world!! everything was delicious not one complaint at all from a single guest. All night my Husband and I kept getting compliments on the food, location and how beautiful the Perry House was. Actually we still are getting compliments 3 months later! We are so fortunate to have had Mary Lisa and Gatherings be part of our special day.

Words cannot properly express how very happy I am with the Perry House or its staff. My husband and I recently held our wedding at the Perry House. The venue is fantastic with breathtaking views of the Monterey harbor and historic charm. The old historic building has been remodeled and refurbished to perfectly blend modern amenities with the classic style of the home. Everyone we worked with made sure our event went as smoothly as possible, and did so with a professionalism and friendliness I did not find at other venues. All of the Perry House staff, from the event coordinator to the servers, were a pleasure to work with. Classic Catering does the food service for the Perry House, as a part of an event package. And while I will also be placing a superior rating for the Classic Catering, I must tell you that I have never been served such a delicious wedding meal (and no I am not just saying that because it was my wedding.) Our wedding guests are still talking about how delectable each dish was -- and they absolutely loved the 'Roaming Reception' plan that was suggested by the staff that allowed for guests to walk around, talking to anyone and everyone, while each guest was able to enjoy his meal at his own leisure. I seriously could go on and on about all of the things that I think are fabulous about the Perry House and its staff.... but to make it a bit shorter, I will say that I absolutely feel that I made the best possible choice in Monterey venues when choosing the Perry House.
The Perry House was perfect for my wedding. I had a small wedding of about 80 people which I believe was a perfect fit for this venue. Everyone who works for Classic Catering is wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect and as non-stressful as possible. I had many people tell me that the food was the best they ever had at a wedding. The layout of this venue is unlike anywhere else that we looked. It is spread out and has many charming areas for your guests to enjoy. The view of the Monterey Bay is breathtaking and magical. The Perry House is a combination of historical Monterey with a renovated touch. We booked this place when it was still in the beginning phases of construction and we could not be happier with our decision to trust in their vision. All of our guests whether from out of town or not were blown away with all this venue had to offer. They layout gives you many options for the different types of setup you would like. I can't say enough about this place and would gladly recommend this to anyone who wants a unique setting that is sure to by admired by your guests!
The Perry House was amazing! I went to them only three and a half months before the wedding and they were so willing to work with me. They suggested the best DJ. The tables and linens they provided were beautiful. The turn around from the ceremony to the sit down dinner, was flawless. They kept the guests entertained the entire time. I didn't get a chance to try the food before the wedding day, but it ended up being incredible. I worked with Alicia Phillips, she was the very best. Any time had questions or concerns, she contacted me immediately. She was there through the entire experience and made sure that everything went smoothly and perfect. I wouldn't have wanted my wedding anywhere else. It was perfect!!!
There is an excellent reason that you will see everyone raves about Perry House and Classic Catering. They are simply the best! Wonderful people to work with, fantastic food, professional service, and attention to every detail. Our son's wedding was perfect, from the beachside ceremony in Carmel to the dinner reception at Perry House in Monterey. Mary Lisa of Classic Catering/Perry House was our single point of contact for every question and detail--and she made it comfortable to decide on every part of the wedding and reception. I would trust her with any type of event, and we truly enjoyed working with her. The Perry House is ideal for a celebration for 75-100 guests. It has a sweeping view of Monterey Harbor, and the owners have done an absolutely beautiful job of restoring the old Victorian home, adding wonderful touches like an outdoor pizza oven, huge new catering kitchen, beautiful areas for cocktails and mingling with guests, etc. Without question, this is an ideal choice for a wedding reception in the Monterey/Carmel area.
The Perry-Downer House is my new favorite venue. The renovation of this historic property was done with some much love--it shows in every detail. The easy floorplan and sweeping views are just two of the wonderful things I love about the Perry House. The food, the location and the people are all assets and I don't think that you can find a better venue for the price. I love the Perry-Downer House!
