The venue made for a fairy tale wedding at The Powel Crosley Estate! You can cut costs by scheduling your wedding on a weekday like I did - I saved $2,000 by having my wedding on a Monday evening. There is so much character in the 1920s architecture. Everyone loved the venue. My small 50 person wedding could fit perfectly in the great room. I have no regrets. Maribeth was no nonsense and delivered with efficiency. All of her recommendations were superb.

This is the best place to get married! It has such a beautiful look/feel to it and really does not need many decorations. The Crosley sets such a beautiful theme to the day. Guests love it and I would not change a thing about it. Maribeth is great to work with and really flexible. There are some rules to the place, but nothing major, but at the end of the day we didn't have to compromise anything- she is great to work with and a huge help. Thanks everyone!

We loved having our wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate. It was just like having it at a family member's house without all the family drama. One of the great thing about the Powel Crosley Estate is it's yours for the entire day. You don't have to worry about arriving and getting ready in an hour (something that happened to a friend of mine.) We got there as early as we could (I belive 11am) and all the girls got their hair and make-up done while the vendors and our family was helping set stuff up. It allowed for a relaxing and stress free day. The Bride's Room is big enough to relax in. The Crosley team was great to work with and they helped create a stress free enviroment (even when things got a little stressful due to weather.) It was freezing the day of the wedding and we were supposed to have our ceremony by the water and dinner on the lawn. Even with heaters it was to cold so we moved the ceremony right on the "porch" and the dinner inside. Due to the weather issues they allowed us use of the upstairs part of the venue free of charge and their staff even gave tours of the Powel Crosley museum to our guest during the event. We have gotten so many compliments about how using the Crosley and love how it allowed us to have such an intimate wedding experience for us and our guests. This is the perfect venue for a vintage bride!

I loved the Crosely Estate and couldn't get enough of the venue before, during and after my wedding. It's pricey, for you're only getting the venue and some tables but totally worth it...if you can do it. Though with the Crosley, you (and your vendors) do everything and that can get costly, you get a "coordinator" but they really just take your details and bar information, and are there the day of to make sure everything is running smoothly for the venue and your vendors. My coordinator though was always very helpful at answering any questions and easy to get a hold of. The Estate is perfect for an intimate or small wedding. Our guest loved how they had so much space and loved the views. We had small children and they were fine with the water and having the whole place all day was great. It was so nice to get ready there. If you are thinking about this venue keep in mind it books very fast!! They also provide a great vendor list! Thank you to John and Mary Beth for going above and beyond and being so awesome!

The Crosley Estate is a beautiful setting on Sarasota Bay. The architectural features of the building and the grounds create almost endless photo opportunities. The staff was generally easy to work with and the rules are somewhat flexible. Our guests are still talking about how elegant and gorgeous our wedding and reception were. You have the ability to select your own caterer, lighting and floral vendors. There are several locations for the ceremony and reception both outside and in the mansion. I would definately recommend the Crosley Estate for any size wedding.

The Crosley Estate is an amazing wedding venue! From all angles and views, there are breath-taking shots to be had. Everytime I look at my wedding photos, I am smitten by our choice. To start the process of selecting the venue, my FH and I were given a tour by John at The Crosley Estate. (John is fantastic!) After telling him that we could not make a final decision until we toured all the other Sarasota venues, he assured us we would be back. And, of course, we were. While others venues provided similar settings, The Crosley Estate provides the best of everything. The only drawback that I can think of is the On-site Wedding Coordinator. She seemed a little disorganized, and it seemed like she worked there part-time and had limited availability.

I started planning my wedding almost two years before our wedding date and this was the very first thing I booked! I went to several locations in the Sarasota area and the Powel Crosley was by FAR the best for your money! I fell in love and booked it immediately! It’s owned by Manatee County and I think that it’s a definite pro. It was a relaxed process and the employees were very nice. The rules are not bad at all! I was able to have the wedding of my dreams without any major restrictions by the venue. There were a few paperwork questions along the way, but they were always quickly answered or changed. We never had any major issues. My guests are still talking about how gorgeous the venue was. My wedding pictures are so amazing with the Crosley in the background. This location made my wedding!!!

I absolutely loved my venue!! DH and I spent soo long looking for a beautiful scenic venue in Tampa that was reasonably priced and that we would be the ONLY wedding that day. We could not find one that we liked, so branched out to Orlando and Sarasota. Once I saw the Crosley I was ready to book it immediately. I am so glad that we did. We got the whole place for 12hrs (11am-11pm) and you can bring your own caterer. They provided the bar service, and it is based on consumption. They even let you bring your own soda and water! That saved us a lot of money. Our coordinator Richard was so funny and great to work with! We decided to do beer, wine and soda with one signature drink. Richard literally came up with a signature drink off the top of his head, called it "Caribbean Sunset" since we were going to the Caribbean for our HM, and guess what? It matched the coral BM dresses! And it was delicious also! Everyone I worked with at the Crosley were nice and professional, and I would definitley recommend this venue.

truly a spectacular location. The mansion has just the right ambiance for vintage!

Literally the most beautiful venue I have ever seen. I agree with the other girls when they say that pictures do not do it justice. Every single person who came to our wedding raved about how wonderful, gorgeous and original the Crosley is. I do think some of the rules, and prices are a little off, but it doesn't matter because it is too perfect and lovely to pass up. My wedding was a dream come true, I felt like a princess in a castle, I loved the Crosley!!! Also, my coordinator Maribeth was AWESOME, and she made sure everything went perfectly!! She was so helpful, and willing to work with me on everything I needed. Thank you so much Maribeth!!! I would 100% recommend The Powel Crosley Estate to other brides!

If you're looking for a venue that is classic, and original than look no further than the Crosley Estate. We live in the St. Petersburg area, and actually went to Sarasota thinking our venue would be the Ringling Musuem. But after comparing the costs, and locations, we chose The Crosley, and we are so happy that we did. Each and everyone of our guests were amazed with the beauty of The Crosley and told us our wedding was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been too. We had a wedding planner (NK Productions) so she dealt with The Crosley's staff more than we did, but we did coordinate with them directly in regards to the liquor. Maribeth (who was our coordinator for that) was awesome and a pleasure to work with, offering us ways to save money. We have to admit we were concerned with their liquor policy and pricing, but it turned out much less than we expected, considering our guests drink like horses! The venue may seem expensive but because its so beautiful, we saved a considerable amount of money in decorations, flowers, lighting, etc. We got married in March, and were lucky enough to be able to have our wedding ceremony at the logia, and the reception on outdoors on the lawn without the need for a tent. They have a beautiful room that you can use as the "Bridal room" to get ready in, with your private bathroom that you don't have to share with your guests. I believe there are 2 other restrooms available that your guests can use. We had 185 guests at our wedding, and were told there were long waits at times, but it wasn't a huge problem. One thing we would have liked to have had were sparklers for our exit, but they don't allow it there and didn't seem to flexible in that regard. Our wedding pictures turned out amazing and lend a timeless feel to them thanks to the beauty of The Crosley. You won't be disappointed with this venue.

This is the most amazing venue! Very beautiful! Every person who works there is friendly and willing to help; although, I had some trouble with accuracy of answers concerning logistics. Make sure you double and triple ask your questions to see that the answers are consistent. Overall, that was a very small hassle considering how stunning the venue was on the day of our wedding. We did not use them to cater the event because they were unavailable to cater that date, but we had an excellent experience with Amici's, one of their preferred vendors.

This place is insanely beautiful! seriously. words do not do it justice- you just need to go and experience it. Great place for people who love beautiful details. I loved everything about our wedding here. Here are some pictures from the day from an amazing photographer, Jessica Lorren: http://www.jessicalorren.com/blog/2010/01/23/sarah-jb-wedding-the-powel-crosley-estate/

The Crosley Estate is a beautiful, historic venue. However, being that it's historic there are many rules you have to abide by to keep the estate in good condition (understandable), but I felt that sometimes the people there could be a little overbearing about it, "reminding me" numerous times about all the little rules that were in the contract I signed. Also, nearly every time I called someone (during business hours) I would get their voicemail and have to leave a message, then wait for a call back. This was off putting to me considering how much money we were paying and how often it happened. The price to rent it seems high, but is actually pretty much in line with what the other historic estates in the area charge. I do have to give them credit in that in the contract they seem very strict about everything, but everyone I met in person was very nice and helpful.

The Powel was the most beautiful and unique venue I saw when looking for my wedding venue. The people there are amazing to work with and went above and beyond to make our day special- thanks Richard!!! I highly recommend this venue if you want something vintage, unique and on the water. We had so many compliments and even men that came to our wedding said it was beautiful! The Powel Crosley is amazing and don't let the alcohol policy scare you, it actually wasn't as much as we thought it could be.

Some of the things promised became unavailable and communication was poor at times. the venue itself was incredible such a beautiful place to get married.

The visuals of this venue are stunning. Our wedding will always be remembered for the sheer beauty of the location. The pictures on the internet dont do it justice.

I have never seen a more magical venue for a wedding. A beautiful, Mediterranean style mansion right on Sarasota Bay. Dancing under the stars. My wedding was absolutely gorgeous at the Crosley.
GUEST

My review will probably be the same as that of everyone else who's had a wedding here: the place is gorgeous, the staff you deal with prior to your event isn't the best. The day of, everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating though, and I was pleasantly surprised. I forget the name of the woman who is the on-site event coordinator, but she was great! She even let us dig 1-foot deep holes in the lawn so our fabric altar contraption wouldn't fall on us during the ceremony!

The backdrop of the Crosley is breath taking. Don't believe me? Go to the website and its as real as the pictures show. Its far more beautiful on a clear night with a soft breeze off the water. The restored mansion was the back drop for my wedding and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful scene. Go look at it and see for yourself!

We fell in love with Crosley. It's so beautiful and overlooks Sarasota bay. They can be a pain in the neck to deal with about certain things, but it's worth it. Everyone commented on the perfect location and we couldn't have agreed more.

The perfect venue for a historical and old Spanish colonial ambiance. It was the mix of antique and tropical that we were dreaming of. I literally got choked up when I first saw it - I couldn’t speak! We didn’t need many decorations at all to have a beautiful backdrop for our perfect day. The architectural details are seemingly endless and one of the best things about the Crosley is that the whole place was “ours” for the day. Not a random swimmer or wandering tourist in sight. The bar prices are reasonable and the drinks were delicious. I can’t even complain about the house wine (I only tried the white), which was great with our seafood meal. The only con is the size: luckily we only had 82 guests, so we all fit in the great room, but any more than about 90 and you have to spill over into other rooms.

It was my dream to have a wedding in a beautiful old mansion, outdoors and on the water. After our visit to the Crosley, we absolutely fell in love with its beauty and charm. There was just enough room for our small guest list. We had exactly 60 guests at the wedding and were able to fit everyone in the main dining area, without having to overflow into the smaller rooms. The reason I gave them a B is because they'd dropped the ball on a few things. As part of their contract, we are required to purchase all our alcohol directly from them. A month before the wedding we'd put in our order, which was pretty simple; red & white wine, a couple high balers, and one to serve Molson Ice (my dad's favorite beer). On the day of the wedding we were told that they had dropped the ball on the order, forgetting to order the Molson and basically being jerks about it. Then one of their staff members decided to cause a scene causing the cops to show up. On top of it all, we were overcharged for our liquor when we received our final alcohol bill. I'd requested an audit on our consumption and they had us down for 70+ bottles of wine! Considering that we only had 60 guests and most of our family doesn't even drink, I called them up, and after some discussion, they agreed to give us a 15% refund. All in all I absolutely loved the Crosley, but the staff stunk.

The estate was so beautiful and set the tone for our wedding. The staff was friendly and the price is great. This is the most beautiful place in the area. The only problem we had was that the bathrooms backed up but they had them fixed before there were any problems.

Excellent! Everyone was telling us how amazing the place was all night long. The only thing I would have changed would be to get microphone for the ceremony – the wind made it really difficult for people to hear anything. Since we did have extremely high winds, it was not possible to have cocktails at the gazebo so we were able to have cocktails upstairs. People really liked being able to explore the 2nd floor and nobody even realized it was the backup plan.
Absolutely one of my favorite venues. There are so many beautiful aspects, I find something new every time I shoot there. I highly recommend this venue.
We just LOVE filming at the Crosley Estate! What an amazing location right on the water. This location makes for epic wedding day films! It is charming and majestic. Guest always enjoy the breezes and the lush landscape. We love referring brides to The Crosley!!
The Crosley is one of the most popular venues in our area and understandable so! A beautiful and elegant setting. We always love events there.
The Crosley is an amazing mansion with beautiful grounds located right on Sarastoa Bay. I have officiated at many weddings there. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. Weddings can be located on the terrace or on the grounds close to the water.
I love this venue. It truly is magical!
A beautiful place for a fabulous wedding!
The Crosley is one of our all time favorite venues in Sarasota. It is just beautiful to decorate. We have a huge gallery of photos of weddings we have done and the future brides love to check them out as there are so many options at the Crosley.
The Powel Crosley Estate is a beautiful venue with so many options and areas on the property where we can do a wedding and reception. The guests are alwasy amazed by the mansion and stuning water views. We love working this venue!
Unique, serene location with old charm…I love to deliver cakes over…Set up always looks beautiful with fireplace in a background…
Beautiful and private, great combination for a wedding with the view of the water.
Georgous and right on the Sarasota Bay! Old world charm with lots of class. A must see for those seeking this style wedding.
The Crosley Estate is a very unique venue filled with history. We love the mansion with its vintage look that simply makes a perfect backdrop for a wedding. The fact that it is located on the water provides for some amazing sunsets but being a private estate you don't have the crowds you would find at the beach. The staff is great and always helpful. Simply put, it is a wonderful place to hold your wedding or any other celebration.
What a beautiful Wedding Location you have. It was our pleasure working there. Sincerely! Fred & Cristina Felten Video
As a visual artist (photographer), backgrounds are an integral part of my product. With the gorgeous backdrop of the Powel Crosley Estate, I know my brides will have a terrific album! I have photographed many other events at the Crosley, the Festival of the Trees, Jazz at the Crosley, as well as the Dickens, Poe and Shakespeare Theatrical productions-and it works for ALL of them! I'm sure Powel would be happy seeing how his great home has been careful restored and maintained. Gary W. Sweetman, Bradenton www.garysweetman.com
Truly magical and a place full of romance... You have to "feel" it for yourself.
The Powel Crosely Estate is a photographer's dream venue. This venue built in the 1920's has Mediterranean-style architecture that creates a whimsical, romantic backdrop. There are so many nooks and crannies and hidden treasures that can be explored. Just a few of my favorite spots for photos include the Banyan trees, the waterfront, the round all-wood room, the outdoor tiled dance floor and the window balconies.
I have had the pleasure of working at this venue. The historic backdrop is just enchanting. When you are there you can almost envision grand garden parties of the past. It's just one of Sarasota's Crowning Jewels.
This is one of my favorite Sarasota event venues. The character and story behind this building along with the beauty of the property, lends to magnificent images.
The Crosley Estate is such a special property of which I have had the pleasure of working for many years in all types of configurations which I tailor to each client's needs. Located on beautiful Sarasota Bay with it's unique ambiance and grounds, it is truly the perfect setting to hold such a memorable event. The staff are excellent to work with and very accommodating to their clients. Having the ability to utilize the various spaces available throughout the property for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, then dancing and moving about the property as the segments progress make up the special qualities the Crosley possess. I would highly recommend this incredible venue when considering your options to hold your event! Wayne DeLair, DeLair Entertainment

I love photographing weddings at Crosley. The detailed architecture and waterfront location are a photographer's dream.
