Carla was wonderful to work with. I loved the space because it complimented my theme/colors well and had plenty of space to utilize. The best part was being able to have the ceremony AND reception in one location without having much "rework" to do- the guests were able to go to the other room while the ceremony room became the buffet. It's a little pricey- but definitely LESS than a LOT of surrounding venues and you do get a LOT for your money (including chairs and tables, a sound system etc). Definitely worth the investment, especially since they absolutely 100% know what they're doing! They are experts at this and it shows. Any and all questions I had, they were able to answer (including things related to traffic!). I'd use the Royal again in a heartbeat- we got sooooo many compliments on the location!

The Royal is nothing to look at on the outside, but gorgeous inside. We loved the intimacy of the historic brickwork, large mirrors, and soft lighting. For a time, we worried that the red walls would clash with the bright color scheme of our wedding, but the darkness of them just brought out the brightness of our green and purple flowers all the more. Carla was great to work with and the reception went off without a hitch. I highly recommend.

Both of us remember the old bakery and loved the idea of having the ceromony and reception in the same venue. It is beautifully decorated and a wonderful setting for a wedding. The under-building parking and elevator were important to us for our handicapped guests. I would highly recommend The Royal to anybody.

I was hard for my to find a place for both a wedding and a reception, this was the perfect place. It's practically hidden away on Hillsborough Street, but it's beautiful! Robin, the event coordinator was a big help and could always meet with me on my schedule.
My mother recommended the Royal to us and the first moment I stepped in the door I knew it was the place. The Royal is located in a refurbished bakery from the 50's and has beautiful exposed brick and ceiling beams. The staff was great to work with and I really liked that they already had tables and chairs available. It was important that our reception was close to the ceremony site and have the same design feel as the church we got married in which was also a refurbished factory from the 50's. I would recommended to anyone The Royal. They had a great price for the location, building, services and amenities they provide.

We offer a 3,760 sq. ft. banquet hall that comfortably accommodates up to 300 people in a variety of room sizes. There also is an additional 875 sq. ft. room available in to rent conjunction with events in the banquet center to use as a lounge or other purpose. We allow you to select a licensed caterer of your choosing as well as serve alcohol at your event with a licensed bartender. The rental at the ROYAL includes a long list of equipment and features.
