The Sewing Room

I was quite happy with the alterations done by The Sewing Room. They took a little bit longer than I had anticipated to finish my dress, due to the need to redo the basting of the hem the first time and due to the seamstress getting the flu and being out for a week. But, the finished product was great, they sewed on a free embroidered patch to my dress for my "something blue" as a gift, and they comped me for the bustle due to the extra time it took to finish my dress. (Which they definitely didn't have to do and which I didn't even ask for.) And, the dress was still done well before the time that I needed it. Bonnie, the seamstress who works on their wedding and formal alterations, was great - easy to work with, extremely detail-oriented and experienced - and she worked very hard to make sure my dress was perfect. In terms of costs, they came in lower than what others had quoted me, even without the free bustle. My one complaint (and the reason I gave them 3.5 stars for responsiveness) is that, when Bonnie got the flu, I was expecting my dress to be done within a few days and, after a week with no word, I had to call the owner to find out what the status of my dress was. I really felt that Debbie should have called me to let me know what was going on, and I would have appreciated that courtesy. Overall, though, I was very pleased with the work done at The Sewing Room and would recommend using them for any alterations needed.
