Carolyn Chen of The Special Day is the most professional wedding coordinator any bride and groom could wish for ... She literally transformed my idea and dream of a wedding into a reality ... it was absolutely phenomenal ... from the linens to the escort cards to the flowers to the videographer and photographer, Carolyn made sure everything exceeded my expectations ... With Carolyn and her team by my side on my wedding day, everything proceeded seamlessly ... I did not have to worry about anything or do anything for that matter, but simply enjoy the moment ... My wedding was on 12/23/07, at the Ritz-Carlton in Pasadena. I planned pretty much the entire wedding from northern California in six months, with Carolyn's help. From my first initial meeting with Carolyn, I felt reassured that every single detail will be taken care of, exactly how I envisioned my special day would be. It was also a plus that Carolyn had coordinated many weddings at the Ritz and already knew all the little rules that they required the guests and vendors to abide by.

With Carolyn's experience, she knew which vendors to recommended that would fit into my budget and style. She provides a wealth of knowledge, experience, and professionalism! After the wedding, I've had so many people tell me how classy, elegant, and flawless the wedding was-- and these were comments from the most pickiest people I knew.

On my wedding day, I was happy, relaxed, and able to enjoy every single moment of the precious day, knowing that Carolyn and her team of assistants would take care of any unexpected issues.

The wedding itself was perfect, literally. At least as far as I could tell, the day went off without a hitch. We, the Bridal party and Groom were running late and she just went forward with out a concern of any kind. The place was beautiful, the guest were happy and had a good time. She was timely in meeting with me and following through on her promises. She stuck to the budget and produced a MUCH nicer wedding then I thought we could afford. Actually thinking about it all the venders she suggested performed with a high level of quality. The Food from Gourmet Celebrations was delicious and as I wanted it. The makeup artist Mariah was great as was her mother. And the Photographer Brian Sentosa did a great job. We only used a photographer and I am very pleased with the photos, both I and the wedding look beautiful and we got all of our photos on CD leaving us free to choose and order what we wanted ourselves.
Also the cake was the best I have ever tasted. I did not want a heavy cake so Carolyn got us a whipped cream covered white cake with fresh strawberries inside. Wow was it good. My husband and I were just saying today that we really had wonderful wedding and that it was the happiest day of our life.

We got married at the Cravens Estate in Pasadena on Sept 30th, 2006. We had 70 Guests and it was an outdoor afternoon wedding.

Bottom-line I recommend Carolyn very highly.

Our wedding day was the best of our lives by far. And the major factor was Carolyn and The Special Day. From beginning to end, she helped us step by step to create a unique wedding that perfectly reflected our style, within budget, timely, and beautiful. I was not working at the time, but I still don't know how we could have finished anything without her help. During our actual wedding day, she also had other coordinators armed with everything possible to smooth out any hitch, and all we had to do was go from place to place just enjoying the day with each other and our guests, and not wedding details. That is priceless.

I recommend contacting her as early as possible, and she'll map out a timeline, guide you with your theme or style, create a budget, and make the whole process enjoyable.

Hands down, without a doubt, Carolyn Chen is the person who you want to have organize your wedding. My biggest fear was that our wedding would be unorganized and bland, but The Special Day ensured that that did not happen. Carolyn's crew were behind the scenes making sure that every thing was right on time, and I mean Everything.

You would actually be doing your wedding a disservice by not choosing The Special Day. You don't want to be that wedding couple who had the boring wedding because it was completely unorganized and sloppily put together, do you?

We had some problems with our venue but Carolyn was always ready with solutions and answers. She was always two steps ahead of the game. In the beginning, my fiancé (husband), was very skeptical of hiring an event coordinator but by the time our wedding day came around, he definitely changed his tune.

The only time I take time to write a review is when I write about something great or something terrible. The Special Day was amazing handling our wedding. Because my bride and I were having a unique wedding that required a lot of attention and coordination, we opted for the full package. The Special Day took care of every single detail of our wedding, and most importantly, brought our vision to life. Carolyn is awesome! If you don't believe me, message me for photos of our wedding!

I could have easily been a bridezilla... with my extensive working hours, I didn't have the time to plan my wedding. The Special Day each step of the way gave chic, classy, yet modern planning (just the way we envisioned)!!! We contacted Carolyn for our wedding in Pasadena in the Fall of 2007. We chose her Basic Plan as most of the planning was completed, but she provided a level of service that far surpassed our expectations. Our wedding day was perfect; everything was on time...from the photography session to the limo procession to the church to our grand entrance. She worked well with the church appointed coordinator, the event planners from the Ritz, and the Bandleader. Her setup for the reception was flawless. All of our families and friends were very impressed with the event.

Our wedding was held at Westminster Presbyterian in Pasadena, with the reception at the former Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel. We had 125 guests. I would certainly recommend Carolyn and her team at The Special Day to anyone seeking a coordinator.

If you are looking for a Los Angeles or Orange County wedding planner - your search is over! My only regret is that I did not hire Carolyn and her team sooner. I started out trying to plan everything on my own - big mistake! As the saying goes, "you don't know, what you don't know." After hiring Caroyln, I learned all about the things, big and small, that I was forgetting or never even considered. Plus, I saved on every vendor I booked with Carolyn's help, discounts I was not able to get on my own. The Special Day made my special day a huge success! My husband and I reccommed this very profressional team of go-to planners that are second to none!

We had our wedding and reception at the Ritz-Carlton, Pasadena on August 18, 2007 with 150 guests. Carolyn, you did a kick-ass job us and we will never be able to thank you enough!

Carolyn is very organized and was truly a godsend. She was great to work with and I couldn't have done it without her. It's always worth it to hire a coordinator who can help you. She really took the stress off of me and the day of the wedding went off without a hitch because she handled everything like a pro.

Carolyn is a true professional. She helped with every detail from vendor recommendations to suggestions on overall style and favors. Carolyn was there with us every step of the way. Although wedding budgets can be tight, my husband and I still feel it was the best money we spent.

We would never have pulled off the wedding of our dreams without Carolyn! We didn't know exactly what we wanted for our special day, but with Carolyn's help she helped bring it all together making sure that our personalities came out and it wasn't just another cookie cutter wedding. We loved all of the vendors she recommended and all of our vendors loved the fact that they got to work with Carolyn again. I definitely recommend hiring Carolyn, you could try to do everything on your own, but even spending 24 hours a day online researching how to pull off the perfect wedding would not compare to Carolyn's knowledge and experience.
