Its important to remember that there are hundreds of combination of colors and varieties of flowers that you can use for your wedding, and we can only show you so many at once!6: What types of wedding flower designs do you demonstrate?FlowerDIYvas: Sarah’s Wedding features some of the most modern and popular designs for weddings including hand-tied bouquets, pin-on boutonnieres and corsages, tall ceremony pedestal arrangements, aisle chair décor, low centerpieces for the reception tables and cake décor.7: What if I have a different design style in mind?Your creative vision and design style may not be exactly what we demonstrate in the video. You may have a different setting (like a place of worship, outdoor garden, country club), reception location (like a park, private home, reception hall, restaurant), or want a different centerpiece style (tall, linear, clusters of several containers) The most important aspect of the video is the knowledge, experience, and information that we are sharing that you can apply to your own scenario.8: Why should I get this how-to video 3 months or more before my wedding?We highly recommend that you get your hands on flowers and practice all the designs in the video a few months ahead of time. You need to time yourself, get a feel for the work involved, prepare yourself and your workspace, and gather your tools and supplies. It is a great idea to get your team of helpers together to practice along with you. There may be designs that one person is better or faster at, or may enjoy more than others and you can assign jobs early on. Also, this will help you decide well in advance of your wedding if this is a task you can and want to do, or if you should hire a pro. At this point in the planning process, there is still time to hire a florist.9: Does the video show me how to put my order together?Yes. When you purchase the video, it includes instructions to find the FlowerDIYvas Workbook on our website. The workbook contains worksheets for Sarah’s wedding and blank pages for you to apply to your own wedding order. The worksheets include timing of both cleaning and processing flowers, recipes of all items that we make in the video, a sample schedule, and a shopping guide. There are bonus pages such as a flower selection guide and tips on processing, designing, and delivering the flowers.10: Where do I buy my wedding flowers and supplies?Please see our Resources page for recommendations for purchasing your flowers and supplies.11: Should I get a seller’s permit or resale license (or use my friend’s) to save money?While you should consult your own tax advisor and/or local tax authority, we do not advise this! The intent of a seller’s permit is for legitimate businesses to purchase products at wholesale prices without paying sales tax because they will be reselling the product and collecting sales tax on the retail price. Purchasing flowers or supplies for your own wedding with a seller’s permit – and not paying sales tax – is in direct violation of the intent of a seller’s permit. Brides who buy flowers and supplies with a sellers permit for their own wedding are not reselling the purchased product! In many cases, you can find wholesale pricing but if the product is not for resale (which it wouldn’t be if you are DIY’ing your flowers, right?), you should be paying applicable sales tax on the wholesale price. Best advice – just buy discount or retail and pay the applicable sales tax up front.12: How much money will I save if I do my own flowers?Many factors will drive the cost of flowers and product you purchase; the time of year, types of flowers, quantities you are buying, proximity to holidays, and even the color of flowers sometimes determines cost. What we can tell you is based on our data you can potentially save 55% to 65% by doing your own flowers rather than hiring a professional.
