The entire staff at this venu is AMAZING! They are very flexible with EVERYTHING. Our wedding was on 7/811 and ALL of our guest LOVED the location and the food. I'm glad we had our wedding here and look forward to going back there for dinner each anniversary.

Only drawback: They require a professional & certified day of coordinator. This was kind of a headache for me. If or once they bring in their own planning services, this will TRULY be the BEST wedding venu in all the world.

We got our beach wedding just the way we wanted. The staff was so helpful and nice. Everyone at our wedding raved about the location and the food!

The Sunset Restaurant was the dream backdrop for our big day. Choosing this location was a no-brainer. The beach is pristine, the event room has beautiful fabric-draped ceilings, and the food is amazing. Once into the negotiation process, we were given room to really voice every opinion we had. The event staff made sure we were always well-informed and made so well in advance. The day of was handled so carefully and professionally, with plenty of people on hand to make sure every detail was coordinated perfectly with our professional coordinator. We wouldn't change one thing about our experience at Sunset.

We had an amazing beach wedding at The Sunset in August of 2010. The day turned out perfect. The Sunset was great at explaining everything to us, planning the event, providing the food and drinks, setting up the ceremony. We even had our rehearsal dinner there as well. From start to finish the Sunset was easy to deal with and the wedding turned out perfect. Our guests loved the location! They also loved the food... the Sunset is a very good restaurant. They were very accommodating. We highly recommend the Sunset if you want a beach wedding.

The Sunset was the perfect place to have a beach wedding in Southern California. The food was excellent, the staff was amazing and the setting couldn't be any more grogeous. The only negative in the whole of everything was that they do not allow you to amplify ANY on the beach, and so because it is incredibly windy on Zuma Beach, it is next to impossible to hear ANY music played in the ceremony. An unfortunate fact because it takes a lot away from the ceremony, at least it did in our case.

Kelly Ann is an absolute doll- a dream to work with. She is very prompt with her communication, which I really appreciated. The Sunset Restaurant is simply unbeatable for a beach wedding. Located directly on the sands of Zuma beach, it showcases SoCal's beauty with it's elegant but relaxed decor, friendly barstaff, and incredible views! It is also pretty secluded, certainly one of those gems known only by the locals! The food was amazing as well and we continue to get rave reviews from our guests! Our only issue was that our meal was a full hour late and it was definitely a problem as we had many young children in attendance.Overall, we had an amazing event, and I would book them again if I needed to. :-)

We are going to have our rehearsal dinner at the Sunset Restaurant! This place is truly impressive! The view anf the cuisine are amazing! I cannot think of 1 negative detail about the Sunset Restaurantt!

The Sunset Restaurant is pretty much the best place to get married. EVER. Why? Well you can't beat the location as its right on a beautiful beach in Malibu. The food is absolutely delicious-- yes, even for weddings. The staff is so amazingly organized, helpful, friendly & professional. And the banquet room is so beautiful (and it was renovated in 2009). And for all they offer, it really is affordable and all inclusive (event space, linens, china, silverware, catering, alcohol, valet, etc).

I had my wedding there a few weeks ago and it was a dream come true. Like I said, it is such a beautiful location and they set up the ceremony so that you get married right on the beach! But don't worry-- they put platforms on the sand so you never have to walk in the sand if you don't want to! High heel loving brides rejoice! Also, the platforms made it so my older, handicapped family members could still walk to their ceremony seats (they wouldn't have been able to walk directly on sand). The ocean was maybe 15 feet away from us which was a perfect backdrop for our ceremony. Dolphins even jumped during our ceremony-- which was just magical! Kelly Ann, the events coordinator there, is SO sweet and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a beautiful wedding and had so many helpful suggestions for us throughout the planning process. I love her & you will too! The food at our wedding was excellent!! I'm a foodie-nerdy and really the food was top notch! All our guests have complimented us on it-- and here's the best part: we had ordered the lowest priced food package. But it was still really good-- not your typical "wedding food" at all. When I think about the venue, and all it offered us, I can't believe how little we actually spent on it. Really, I think our wedding could have easily cost twice what it did-- but the good news is it didn't! The Sunset Restaurant really is affordable for all they offer you (location, customer service, excellent food & beverage, etc).It is THE PERFECT spot for intimate, beach side weddings!! Anyone who gets married here is truly lucky!

Wow!!! That is all I can say and it doesn' even fully discribe the experience. I would totally give it the best location award, best customer service award, and best venue award. not only is it beautiful, the staff makes you feel like one of the family. Even if you go back for dinner later that night they all still remember you and make a fuss over you. They are extrordinary people. Very Unique place. You can't beat having dolphins showing up during the ceremony on the beach.

The Sunset Restaurant is a fantastic place to get married. You can have your ceremony and reception and catering all in one place, and it's relatively affordable. Kelly Ann, the restaurant's event coordinator, is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. She knows what she's doing and will work with you to make sure you get the wedding you want. Just make sure you go over everything you want first, because there are a lot of rules and regulations to follow, both for the restaurant and the public beach outside. Still, it's not unreasonably strict, and we were able to have the wedding of our dreams.The location is beautiful and the food and service from the restaurant was outstanding. We can't recommend this venue enough for people looking for a nice little place to have a beach wedding.

I absolutely loved the Sunset Restaurant for my wedding. It's classy, intimate, and the food is delicious. Where else can you get married right on the sand in Malibu? My guests all commented that they had such a fabulous time, and plan to come back there for dinner again.

I was married at The Sunset Restaurant on August 27, 2006. I would recommend this venue in a heartbeat. Anyone who wants a beach wedding should definitely check The Sunset out! :D

We wanted a beach wedding and this was the perfect location! We are so happy we had our wedding at The Sunset. The ceremony was on the beach (The Sunset takes care of all permits, which is so nice!), the cocktail hour was in the lounge and on the patio, and the reception was inside, facing the beach with full ocean views. It’s a beautiful (classy, yet beachy) location and perfect for anyone who wants a beach wedding. The food and drinks were so good, too! A lot of people came up to me that night to tell me how much they loved the food. During the planning stages, Kelly Ann was wonderful to work with. Everything we wanted was taken care of and the ceremony and reception went off without a hitch! I would recommend this location to anyone who wants a beach wedding.

About the beach being crowded for the ceremony:
We were married there in August and this was not an issue at all. The Sunset has a permit for this part of the beach. Everything is set up accordingly and we had no issues with space or anything like that. People were extremely respectful and did not bother us in the least. Our pictures, in fact, do not even show other, random people in the background. It's a big beach and the beach-goers really steered clear of us. I would not worry about that at all. If you want to have your ceremony on a beach, this really is a great location and so easy since you do not have to worry about getting permits, setting it up yourself, etc.

I visited the Sunset today and I love it, I still have to bring my fiance there and there is one other place I plan to check out, but I liked it so much more than anything else I have seen.

The Sunset was wonderful for my wedding reception and everything I could have hoped for. The food was even better than I thought it would be! Kelly Ann was a total doll and a riot to work with, and definitely dealt with my bridal craziness in stride. The night of the wedding was so much fun, and I've heard nothing back from guests but compliments on how yummy the food was and how fun the staff was. Everyone also keeps commenting on how fun and well-run the cocktail hour was (even though I freakin' missed it) because the hors d'oeuvres and cocktails were constantly flowing and nobody ever had to ask to be helped. Apparently the cocktails I had requested were constantly floating around on trays like there was a limitless supply. . .love it! Anyways, I would whole-heartedly recommend this location to any bride who is a foodie and who wants to be married on the beach. Here's a few things to keep in mind: 1) I didn't have my ceremony there because the beach (while gorgeous) is public and thus can be quite crowded in the summer (not much of an issue in other seasons); 2) Malibu has a noise ordinance so your band/DJ will have to shut down relatively early (I believe 11:30); and 3) I don't think they offer a buffet or food station option (please double check with the venue first because they may have changed their policy since I had my wedding).

Overall, I highly recommend this venue and had such a great time!

I recently coordinated a wedding at the Sunset Restaurant. The ceremony was on the beach (it was simply stunning) and the reception was inside their newly renovated banquet room. The decor in the banquet room is so elegant and beautifully simple. You really can do a lot in that lovely space! Plus, the views are amazing! The food was also excellent!

Kelly Ann and her team did a wonderful job and they were a real delight to work with! I look forward to my next event at the Sunset Restaurant!

The BEST venue if you are dreaming of a romantic beach ceremony. The Staff is top notch, the chief and food is to DIE and the event staff working over time for you. My Favorite beach venue bar none!

Annie Elgort is the sales coordinator at the Sunset Restaurant and it is a perfect venue location for an intimate wedding setting. With the waves of Malibu Beach in the background and the dramatic cliffs surrounding it- it's pretty much oh so awesome!!

The Sunset Restaurant is one of my favorite venues. There's no better way to say "I got married on the beach in Malibu! The Sunset Restaurant is quaint, personal, elegant and almost every wedding has an incredible sunset view. The staff is professional, friendly and accommodating. The food is outstanding. I highly recommend this venue if you want to get married on the beach, on the sand, at sunset - or anytime of the day.

I love the Sunset Restaurant for weddings and have performed ceremonies here for many years. You will not find a better beach venue in Malibu and so convenient...the restaurant is right across the street and is a great place for your reception. If you are doing a smaller wedding they have a wonderfully appointed room upstairs ...cozy and very private.
