The Swingin' Swamis played at our November 5, 2011 wedding at the Fort Myer Officers Club in Arlington, Virginia, and they were FANTASTIC! We had a very diverse -- in terms of ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, etc. -- guest list, and the Swamis' music appealed to everybody. Their lead singer, Kara Holtgren, has an amazing voice -- our first dance was to her singing a gorgeous rendition of Etta James' "At Last" -- and Snackie Hillman, who acted as our emcee, did a terrific job announcing the various events (i.e., toast, bouquet toss, father-daughter dance, etc) and keeping the reception flowing. We have received so many compliments on the Swamis since our wedding, and we would hire them again in a heartbeat if given the chance. Music is so incredibly important when you're planning a wedding, and one of the best decisions my husband and I ever made was to hire the Swingin' Swamis. If you hire them, you won't be disappointed!

What is your biggest fear for a wedding? That no one will have any fun. The Swingin Swami's made it happen. Somehow they managed to become part of the affair without being intrusive. They kicked off the event, seeming to enjoy every minute themselves - which was the secret. They stayed on top of the schedule and personalized each moment. It made all the difference. And, by the way, with or without the wedding, they were great performers. Just a suggestion, it really helped when I learned I could buy the band's CD's and circulate them among the crowd ahead of time. It's really cool when your guests can make requests including for the band's original stuff! My guests were very impressed that The Swingin Swami's were clearly not "just another wedding band".
We recommend the Swingin' Swamis at Chase Court more than any other band. Why? Powerful presentation, ultra-professional look and feel (not true of every band…), and a broad and perfectly-crafted repertoire. With a singer up front (or not, your choice), they move the room! Bands that can get everyone dancing are wonderful to have and uncommon to find. The Swingin' Swamis do it, and in spades! Worth your consideration.
About The Swingin' Swamis
The Swingin' Swamis have provided the soundtrack for over a hundred weddings.
The band offers several options to meet your needs and budget, options for hiring the band are as follows:
Option #1 - 5 Piece Band Instrumental (5 musicians performing
instrumental music) This option does not include a PA system
Option #2 - 5 Piece Band Vocal (5 musicians performing vocal and instrumental music) This option does include a PA system
Option #3 - 6 Piece Band Vocal
(same as above with the addition of a female vocalist) This option does include a PA system
Let us know which option you are most interested in or we can provide rates for all of the above.
Our wedding rates are based on several other factors:
1. Location/Address
2. The type of venue and their load-in/load-out requirements
3. Start and end time for the
band
4. Is parking provided?
5. Learning music outside of our existing repertoire
6. The date and day of the week
When we provide a PA system, the wedding party, family and friends are welcome to use our PA system for toasts and announcements. Our PA system includes a CD player.
If you need an MC for your wedding reception, the band's leader (Snackie) is available to MC and introduce the wedding party.
Our rates include loading in to the venue one hour
prior to our contracted start. We load-out immediately at the completion of our performance.
