I couldn't have asked for better place for the reception. The site itself gives a lovely sense of charm and character. There are separate areas for ceremony,cocktails,greeting hall and reception. The bride and groom each get their own space. The staff was very curtious and polite throughout the entire planning process til the wedding was over. They allowed any vendor I wanted and referred some very great vendors. The Event Coordinator worked with us on everything, from handling our rental needs for chairs, tables and special lighting to arranging the furniture for us the exact way we asked. The catering staff was very professional and food flowed from the kitchen very timely, not to mention how great it tasted. I will be going back for my next large event.

They were a little slow in responding to my initial request for information but once I was contacted, I was very happy. This place is beautiful for your ceremony and reception! My guests loved the location. You have the entire facility to yourselves the entire night! The food is incredible, the prices are even better! Loved this place

When I walked into the University Club of Pasadena, I knew that I wanted to have the reception there. The location is beautiful and it was private. We had the whole club to ourselves. It looks a lot more expensive than what it was. The staff and manager were extremely helpful and egard to please. The food was delicious!!!! Everyone only has beautiful things to say about the club. Next to a destination wedding, I would not have done it anywhere else.

Once you step inside, you know you have found the perfect place for the perfect wedding. Tastefully appointed rooms look out upon a beautiful central courtyard where white roses overhang a sculptured stone fountain. Early California paintings cling to wood paneled walls while fresh flowers fill the vases and decorate the tabletops. The warm and gracious lifestyle of early Pasadena is evident in every nook and cranny of this 1925 University Club building. Once the home of the Reverend R.L. Richardson, the University Club has subsequently become the home-away-from-home for generations of local families.
The Board of Governors and staff of the University Club welcome the opportunity to share this very special place with young couples seeking the ideal venue for their wedding. Each couple can reserve the Fountain Court and one or more of the adjacent rooms depending on the size or their invitation list. Parking and well appointed changing areas are included.
The Ideal Setting for your Perfect Wedding
The Courtyard
Among graceful ferns and fragrant roses, a playful fountain fills the interior Fountain Court with the magical sound of splashing water. At night, Ficus trees intertwined with twinkling light add a romantic touch. Able to comfortably seat 150 guests in front of a bridal arbor, the Fountain Court is conveniently located beside several large reception rooms.
The University Club welcomes the opportunity to work with both the bride and groom to create a wedding that more than meets their expectations. An experienced staff member meets with each couple to assist them in selecting the appropriate décor, room arrangements and food. Should a couple want suggestions of florist, photographers or wedding supply companies, the Club has a list of recommended vendors. No effort is spared to make each wedding the memorable and special occasion you expect to remember and treasure
Main Dining Room
Most appropriate for large dinners or receptions, the Great Hall of the University Club can seat 250 people at round tables. Elongated tables to accommodate up to 170 people can be set up depending upon the preference of the bridal couple. Paneled in light wood which makes a beautiful backdrop for the club’s collection of large early California oil paintings, the Great Hall features an open beam ceiling with walk-in fireplace.
Lounge
Spacious and comfortable, the University Club Lounge can easily seat 80 people at round table for 8 or 10. The large French doors open onto the Fountain Court so that guests can transition from the wedding to the reception or dinner. The soft eggshells tones and rich wood cabinets, create an intimate feeling no matter how many diners are present.
Club Pub
Rehearsal dinners should be fun and the Club Pub is always up for a good time. A red brick fireplace warms the room which includes a bar, pool table, large screen T.V. and “ready to pop” popcorn wagon. Comfortable couches and chairs fill in the corners. Able to accommodate approximately 65 sit-down guests for a meal or 80 for a stand–up and roam around affair, the Club Pub is a place where entire families can enjoy the prenuptial festivities.
The Garden Room
Located in a small but intimate corner of the University Club, just beside the splashing waters of the Fountain Court, is the Garden Room. Lovely floral print wallpaper covers the walls and adds a distinctive feminine touch to this somewhat hidden corner of the Club. Ideal for a bridal tea intimate meeting with bridesmaids, the Garden Room can accommodate 10 people sitting around a central elongated table. As always the bride can select white-on-white or soft pastel table clothes and napkins.
