I absolutely loved my wedding at The Victorian House. Beautiful chapel, gazebo and reception hall. Adorable cottages for the bride and groom. The package included linens, cake (brides and grooms), food, coordinator and so much more. The facility let's you bring in your own alcohol, so you can save a ton. The best value I have found anywhere!!

Amazingly beautiful place, we had an awesome time as did our guests. The cakes were so beautiful! and delicious. What i found that was the most wonderful about The Victorian House is that they all seemed to care about making sure i had everything i needed, that everything was done the way i wanted it, and that my friends and family had a good time. The coordinator kept everything flowing and took care of all the details so i didn't have to! that in itself is such a blessing. Thank you Victorian House!

When we decided to get married we discussed either the Just of the Peace or the Victorian House. Since we only had a couple of weeks to work with we didn't think there would be a chance with a booking at the Victorian House. Being retired and on a fixed income we were surprised and delighted when April was not only able to work us in but provided us with every detail we wanted. She even provided us with a chocolate fountain free of charge. The only problem that we had was with the ministers avialibility but April was glad to do the ceremony for us. We were pleased and had a great time. Our thanks go out to the Victorian House.

The owners of The Victorian House are awesome!! They are very helpful and the coordinators are the best. They make the event as stress free as they possibly can. Even the bar tenders and caterers are very professional, adding to the joyous occasion.

I booked a last minute wedding because our previously booked place canceled out on us. I was amazed how quickly The Victorian House responded to our requests. They gave us so much more than we expected. I requested for an outdoor ceremony but when the weather called for a really bad rain storm, they quickly moved the ceremony into their on-site chapel. It was amazing how beautiful the chapel was decorated. By the time the ceremony was over, the rain had stopped and we were able to have our reception outdoors. So my fiance and I had the best of both worlds. Our guests were especially happy when they saw that there was an on-site pool. So the kids brought their suits and swam while the parents partied the night away! I can't thank The Victorian House enough for making our day so special. I'm hoping to renew our vows in 10 years and I will definitely choose this place to do it again!

The staff and owners are very helpful in ALL aspects of a Bride and families needs! As the Mother of a Bride, I was very impressed...I would have rated everything a five, but come on, there are always a few glitches in life! Overall, this is the 3rd daughter to marry off and I only wish I and known about The Victorian House two times ago... Many Thanks to the Owners and Staff from both my husband and myself!

The Victorian House is a nice venue. We used the chapel for our ceremony and had the reception elsewhere. Our wedding coordinator Sheila was wonderful! Our only problem was that the owner gave our original date away to someone else the night before we met with the coordinator to book the chapel, and she did not inform the coordinator until we arrived for our appointment. This was very devastating and completely changed our wedding plans. But in the end, our New Years Day wedding turned out to be perfect!

The venue was wonderful, and everything was beautiful. Sheila was completely AMAZING. She worked hard to get everything taken care of for us, and she was mindful of everyone's needs. I loved working with her. The only complaint that I have about my wedding is the sound quality. It seemed like you couldn't hear anyone speaking in the mics during the reception; a lot of guests didn't hear our toasts, or they didn't hear the announcements for the cake cutting, etc. However, we didn't pay extra for the sound stuff so that could be a part of the reason why. I loved getting married here! If I had to do it again, I would in a heartbeat! Thanks!

We had a very small budget and were looking for a place that would do food as well as ceremony and reception. Although it is a bit of a drive out of Dallas, The Victorian House turned out to be perfect. We wanted to get married outside, but they had a beautiful chapel in case the weather didn't cooperate, which of course it didn't. The reception hall is beautifully decorated, so we didn't have to spend money decorating it ourselves. The staff is very friendly and flexible. We felt like they really worked with us to make everything perfect. We were able to save mone on a DJ by having the wedding coordinator they provided play the cd's we burned and announce everything for us. We had so many compliments from guests, wanting to know where we found this place.

The staff at The Victorian House were exceptional. We had a short 6 week engagement and they worked with us on everything, from the date to the whole package. They had several great referrals for florists, photographers, and hotels... it was easy to see they had become experienced at covering all the details. The day of the wedding had no bumps (that I knew of) from their end and it that made it so much more enjoyable! The only advice I would give is to make sure your guests have VERY detailed instructions and maybe even the coordinators number. The venue is a drive and one of the city streets that you turn down to get to The Victorian House is missing a street sign. We made a sign to post there but we still had several guests get lost and miss the ceremony part.Other than that, everything was fantastic and worth every penny! :)

I absolutely couldn't have pick a more beautiful place. It was set up beautifully and they have several packages to choose from. They are a little pricey, but based on other locations I v'e looked at this was to best and most convenient for the money especially since the reception and everything is right threre together( keep in mind if you have to seperate locations you may have to rent your own linens, tables, chairs, etc.), Guests won't have to drive from the ceremony to a seperate reception area. Christina(one of the event coordinators) was so patient and really took the time to answer EVERY one of my little questions. The wedding was beautiful and everyone is still talking about it. I wouldn't change anything!Heather and Jt Smittymarried 8-9-8

Although my day was perfect, I found The Victorian House to be very unprofessional throughout many aspects of my wedding. During the reception the wedding planner was dancing instead of doing her job, the DJ played the wrong song for the first dance, the owners children we running around the recption with the children that were guests, making themselves at home with the food and cake, and the horse drawn carriage left early. There were many small details I could pick apart, but my major complaint was the responsiveness of the staff. You are paying BIG bucks for you special day and it's their speciality to make everything perfect. I felt like dropped the ball in more than one area.
Vendor response to review
There are a few things I wanted to address, for starters the horse drawn carriage is contracted for 2 hrs (as specified to the client in contract.)Also the DJ was given a different song approx 20 minutes before reception so he was unable to get the song they wanted at that time (too short of notice.) The wedding planner was asked by the groom to "play along" and dance one song with his best man and so they did. We try our best to accomodate each bride and groom as much as possible, but we do have set hours we are closed and certain times we can not respond back to a couple due to the nature of our business. As with all of our weddings we went by contract and request of bride and groom.

Our wedding at the Victorian House was so beautiful. I have heard nothing but compliments on what a gorgeous wedding ours was. The staff was very helpful on the day of the wedding, taking care of all the details so I didn't have to worry about it. It is an expensive place to get married but overall it was very much worth it.

Our only problem at the reception was that the music did not play loud enough. They had someone try to fix it, but he was unsuccessful. Everything else was perfect and they did everything the way we asked them to.

This was a great venue. The staff did everything we asked of them and really made our day special. The facility is beautiful and different than typical sites.

I have to admit, my husband & I were taken with The Victorian House the very first visit. It's beautiful. The chapel doesn't look at all like it will hold very many people, but it's very deep (length of building) so it works out great. I was allowed to bring my own decorations (flowers, aisle runner, additions to my cake, etc.) which made my wedding my own. April was someone that would always make herself available to answer my questions and help however she could to accomidate my wishes for our very special day.I do wish that there would have been more seating available in the reception area. I do realize that the guests could go and sit in the rest of the house, but they weren't told that, so a few got angry and actually left..... I also wish that I would have gotten more assistance from the wedding coordinator that was provided by The Victorian House. I wasn't sure what all Cindy's duties to me were supposed to be, but there were several things (they seem big at the time) that weren't followed through on. My suggestion would be that a bride hire her own Wedding Coordinator so that that person is only there to help her and no one else. That way she will feel comfortable and more relaxed....or is that something that is never accomplished no matter what on your wedding day?No matter what, we were very glad and happy with our choice and rec'd tons of compliments from our guests. It is a magical place and for a wedding under 200, it is an excellent out of the way venue that has everything there in one place, which helps a great deal (no traveling between marriage ceremony to reception). If you would like to look at some of our wedding photos taken at The Victorian House (we used our own personal photographer-a friend) please feel free to visit http://www.mywedding.com/sonnyandkaren/ For an out of the city romantic wedding, you really can't go wrong with The Victorian House. They will leave you with wonderful memories that last a lifetime. And 2 years later, I still get complements on my wedding! Karen and Sonny Gaither, DeSoto TexasP.S.....we chose this venue because I (the bride) lived in the Kaufman area for 17 yrs and wanted the wedding to take place close to where my son grew up and where my mother still lived.

I could not have been happier with the services provided by the Victorian house. They were so accomidating when it came to making my day unique and my own.
Over the years I have played many events as the harpist and also as string quartet, trio etc. and have always been so impressed with the beauty of the place. They are always very organized with everything being very professional done. The food is outstanding and just truly worth the drive away from the busy metroplex. Anyone that books me there will receive a $25 gift certificate for any of the inns on NorthTexasBandB.com and 3 $15. Cds of harp Music for the two parents and the Bridal couple
SoundSource Entertainment.com highly recommends this company! Are you using this vendor for your event? They are one of our preferred vendors! Call 877-266-6935 and we will provide you with a $125 voucher to use for your special day.
The Victorian house is owned by very kind people who will go above and beyond to make your day special. They really try to take all of the stress off of the bride, and allow her to focus on just being the bride. It is a beautiful location, and a great place to have your wedding dreams come true. When you look at all of the services you would have to pay for, and add them into one price, going through the victorian house is a truly affordable venue, but extremely classy, elegant and worth top dollar.
