If i could I'd select no stars.
Don't waste your time and especially your money. "Alia Taylor" (thats not her REAL name by the way.. it's apparently a fake name she uses for her company) will make several promises to you. She'll agree to meet anywhere convenient for you, tell you that she will be there 24/7 for her brides, that she will keep you under budget. It's all lies just so she can get your money. Once she's got the majority of your cash she will stop responding to your emails, wont answer your phone calls, will only meet you where it's convenient for her. Oh and she established "business hours" last minute so she couldnt meet us after work (I have documentation stating she had several working couples she worked with and suggested we meet in the evenings). Why am i so angry? My wedding is in less than 40 days and I got an email from her today saying she's terminating my contract. Am I surprised? Not really considering she didnt think it was important to have a florist or a wedding cake 40 days before a wedding. Good thing my fiance and I did not wait for her and went ahead and found the vendors ourself. I will say "Alia Taylor" was very promising in the begining. I actually considered working with her bc i loved wedding planning so much. I'm glad I didnt. When she expanded her company she all of a sudden got greedy and wanted us to only use her vendors vs getting the best deal and vendor we preferred. If we didnt use her vendor she would get mad. We requested a cake pricing sheet for her company back November 2007 and have been asking ever since.. its May 2008 and i have yet to see such a price list. All of the vendors we have booked have complained that they have not heard from nor can get a hold of "Alia Taylor". I am a project manager as a profession so it was very hard for "Alia Taylor" to have me keep on her tail and request updates. She told us in December that we were not a priority since she had OTHER weddings to work on. We had a meeting in December because we were close to firing her. She apologized about her behavior and promised she'd make sure she improved her communication and worked on our wedding. That did not happen .. I think she wanted to have us get out of the time to where we couldnt cancel anymore (180 days from the event) so we were locked into paying her. I received rude voicemails from her when she did decide to call us back. She of course put everything back onto us to blame. I had to remind her that we hired her.. not vice versa. Between February and May this year, she's been non existant and impossible to reach by phone and email.. and refused to meet us other than her location (in the beginning she was happy to meet us anywhere). My fiances family and my family will make sure we get a full refund. I would hate to see any other girl go through what I have gone through for the past year and a half. Please dont waste your money and go through the chaos we have gone through. I thought a wedding planner was suppose to relieve stress but this one only causes it.
0 STARS FOR SURE! I could not echo anything different than what the other former bride has said. Her experience was an exact replica of my horrible one with Alia Taylor, owner of The Woodlands Weddings & Events. Her lack of professionalism, dishonesty, and fraudulent actions will hopefully take her out of business. This is a person who lacks morals and values.

Good Afternoon Alia,
Per our conversation yesterday morning, we have expressed that we are not satisfied with your performance until this point and we are scared that you will not execute your duties as a wedding coordinator on the day of the rehearsal and for the day of our wedding. The last thing we want to worry about on the day of our wedding is if you are going to be a reliable vendor. For the last few months, you don’t answer your phone and you don’t return calls in a timely manner. "Unlimited phone and correspondence time” as stated in our contract is something that you have not followed through with. Additionally, your follow up on simple pending items has been extremely late (about 2 weeks to 1 month later). When I had e-mailed you all my contracts on July 22nd, I asked to please confirm receipt and you never did. I had to email you and call you after a few days and until August 1st did you confirm receipt – a simple task such as this you could not provide an effective quick response.
During our August 16th meeting at Paraiso Maravilla, we had already expressed our discontent with your performance and lack of follow up to that point. You admitted that you were stretched and weren’t communicating with us, but would rectify this by hiring more personnel. I then asked you to honestly tell me if you would have the time to provide the services we had already pre-paid back in February for $1,250.00. You replied that things should definitely improve from this point forward. Furthermore, I expressed that I was confused about the extent of your responsibilities that are stated in the Wedding Day Simplicity Package in our contract because they are very vague and leave a lot of gray area. You also admitted that it has been confusing to many of your customers because it is too similar to the Day of Coordination Package and that you were going to eliminate this package completely for this very reason. The only difference between both packages are the following points: reviewing vendor contracts, confirm the bride/groom dressing rooms (there is no science in doing this), and coordinating contract labor if needed. I believe that these three frivolous points do not justify charging a customer extra if what you are offering is in reality a Day of Coordination Package. Your information was very misleading.
After our meeting on August 16th, you were supposed to follow up on many items including getting us a ceremony music quote and to submit a floor plan layout to Paraiso Maravilla. Until this day, a floor plan has not been submitted to the facility. Since I had not received the music quote, I followed up via e-mail two weeks later on September 1st to request it once again. Finally after a month later, I e-mailed you on Septebmer 17th to inform you that I had already contracted a group. It literally took me 30 minutes to find a few options on the internet. There is no excuse with your experience in the bridal industry how you could not have obtained this information in an instant and sent it over to me.
On August 29th, I had e-mailed you over my China quote from Aztec Rental and you said you could get it at a more affordable price yourself or though Eddie of Café Natalie, my caterer. After not hearing from you for two weeks, I e-mailed you on September 17th to ask if you had already found the information out and you e-mailed me that you were waiting for a response from Eddie up to this point. This last Monday, September 24th, I decided to take it upon myself and contact Eddie because it was unconceivable to me that you had not received a response regarding China pricing up to this point (almost a month later). He informed me that he had already given you this information about 2-3 weeks ago and I could not believe that you told me a week ago that you were still waiting on a response from him. You then give me the recommendation to get the china from him on September 26th via email when you should have known all along if you had read his contract, that he also offers china and his prices as stated in our catering contract. My caterer has been more ontop of my wedding items than you have. For example, he reminded me not to forget the linens for the sweetheart table and DJ table, when you should have been the one to pick up quickly on these details if you had thoroughly read through all my vendor contracts like you were supposed to as stated in our contract. What is the point of having e-mailed you all my contracts?
To sum everything up, you have been our only problematic vendor. All of our other vendors have been excellent communicators and have had quick follow ups (even same or next day). I do not want to deal with the stress anymore of you not doing the job we contracted you for. Therefore, we will be contracting another wedding coordinator. We are willing to pay you a fair sum for the time you have honestly spent on our wedding. We want to leave things on good terms and if we are not satisfied with your services and lack thereof, the fair thing is to refund us back. Please reconsider your stance or we will be forced to take legal actions, make a claim to the Better Business Bureau against you and your company, and contact the local Chamber of Commerces. We would appreciate your collaboration and leave things in civil manner. Please contact us regarding reimbursement by Tuesday, October 2nd or we will be forced to take further actions.

Subject: November 9 Wedding
Thank you for voicing your concerns to me yesterday regarding the wedding. I respect your decision however, still urge you to re-consider.
Per the contract that was signed, we do not refund payment for The Professional Coordination Package or The Wedding Day Simplicity Package thus, we will not refund a portion as you requested.
Furthermore, I urge you to review the package description. There is not any part of the package that I have not honored. As my client, I have an obligation to perform the duties outlined to you in a reasonable manner, which I feel I have done as well as documented. To add, the majority of the duties outlined in the package to be provided by my company are to take place the day of the wedding. All of those duties outlined in the package to take place prior to the wedding have already taken place; per our meeting and walk through at Paraiso.
Additionally, I was able to accommodate beyond what was necessary for the job that she hired me to do. What I mean by this is that I wanted to do whatever I could to help her with what she needed IE. cake. I drove from Bentwater to West Houston to deliver cake samples to the place where she gets her hair done so that she could have them for her and her family to sample that evening. I can guarantee that any other vendor/coordinator would have charged her for this, which I did not and that was not in the package description. The only thing I wish to illustrate by this is that simply that your wedding details are important to me and I did do my best to provide you the service you deserve, as I do with all of my brides.
I would like to apologize for any miscommunication that may have taken place and re-iterate the fact that your wedding is important to me. I have a very sound system for the weddings that I am hired to do and any detail, big or small, never gets overlooked.
Again, thank you for voicing your concerns to me. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this matter. Thank you.
BRIDES BEWARE! do NOT book this coordinator. Poor email communication; will be your best friend in the beginning to have the contract signed and then will procrastinate. Many complaints from vendors we booked regarding with response from the coordinator. They only will try to have you pay more money into their company versus getting the best deal and best quality. It's a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" type of job... be careful if you consider this company to plan your wedding. Coordinator was not flexible and only wanted to meet where it was convenient to her. Didnt have florist, caterer, wedding cake within 2 months from our wedding date! Big MESS! I was told they had more important weddings as a priority even though we were less than 100 days away! Save your money and find a better company or plan it yourself like we ended up having to do.
