The Yale Club of New York City

I love the Yale Club. I've not yet been there for a wedding (I anticipate one coming up) but for many other functions. Its very spacious. The food at every event has been top notch. Usually club food leaves much to be desired however each time I've been to an event there I've been very much surprised by how delicious and beautifully they present the food. Also the ballroom is really just beautiful and as past reviews have stated, I can't foresee it requiring much decoration!

Jaime was such a pleasure to deal with. She made the entire planning process stress-free and easy. She's extremely responsive, always got back to me quickly and she really knows her stuff. I think the Yale Club has a really reasonable rate for Manhattan AND for what they offer (in terms of food, liquor and space). On the day of the event, they totally delivered. Food was plentiful and delicious (the number one rave we received), the service was excellent and the staff was super-professional. The staff went out of their way to help us from the Thursday before the wedding when we dropped off all of our things (welcome bags, pictures, candles, ceremony items, place cards, menus, etc.) to the morning after brunch. I HIGHLY recommend the Yale Club - it's a beautiful space and they really are top-notch. Definitely ask for Jaime...your banquet manager is a huge part of the planning process and a great one will help to make your day great.

The only issue I had with the Yale Club was with the reservation staff (we had reserved 25 rooms for the weekend). Many of my guests were told we did not have a room block, many were treated rudely and more than one reservation was "lost". The rooms themselves are small, but clean and very nicely decorated - and the suites are a great deal for NYC.

The food was absolutely amazing- the chef gets a 5 star. The ballroom and the 2nd floor lounge (where we had the ceremony) have the most amazing architectural details and needed very little decoration. It's also very light in color which helps with lighting for photography. Donna was my wedding coordinator and was so professional and helpful. The day before the wedding, I arrived at the Yale Club with a carload of stuff (menus, programs, photos, candy bar, ketubah, etc). Within minutes of pulling up in front of the Yale Club, everything was unloaded by the staff and brought to her office and I never had to worry about anything after that- she took care of everything and all the items were where they were supposed to be on the wedding day. When Donna found out my father forgot to book me a hotel room for the night before the wedding (good one-huh-forgetting the BRIDE!), and the Yale Club was sold out, Donna found me a room. She really went above and beyond for us. Everything ran smoothly on the wedding day. Everyone says SOMETHING had to go wrong- I had to really think and the only 2 minor things I could even think of was that I wanted 5 layers on the wedding cake (there were 4) and they didn’t serve the groom’s cake (not sure why). These 2 things were so unimportant in the scheme of the entire day that I hesitated even mentioning them. I highly recommend the Yale Club. For those getting married there, don’t worry about the elevators- things went very smoothly. They hold the elevators so only your guests use them and it didn't take long to get 175 people where they needed to be. The one thing I would recommend is a bathroom attendant. It’s worth the money since the bathroom is small and can get dirty quickly.

My best friend had her ceremony/reception at the Yale Club. It's a great space, and I love that it is an all-in-one spot. Definitely worth a tour if you've never been inside. The food was excellent and the cake was yummmmmmy.
