Thia & Co
I would not trust Dan to print a lottery ticket. I've tried to detail all the problems with him, but exceeded the character limit.
At every single opportunity he had to MEET expectations and promises, he failed miserably. He told us that the invitations would be ready by mid February. By mid February, he had not even ordered the envelopes so that we may get them to the calligrapher. Part of the delay was because of an onerous proofing process, but that should not have affected the his ability to order the envelopes. And the proofing process was onerous because Dan's communication skills are woefully lacking. He ignored my emails, which were an attempt to give him more business, for over a month while emailing my fiancee during that time. Further, he seemed wholly incapable of listening. We had to remind him of all our choices because he could not remember and could not read his notes. He refused to listen when we told him that we had specific directions for our guests to take or that we wanted specific words used. He created the invitations his way first, only conceding to our wishes after we had specifically told him his were unacceptable.
Come March 1, when we were finally able to get the envelopes, he promised the invitations in "ten days, fourteen max." Finally, after 22 days, and us emailing and calling, he said the invitations were ready. We arrive to pick them up, at which time he indicated that they were not assembled. Not only had we asked him to assemble them BOTH our prior meetings, we had a written invoice from him that included the assembling fee. He either neglected to notice it or had not noted it. He discounted the assembly fee, which staved off this review until we discover that the phone number for the church, and not the hotel, is listed on the accommodations card, although the hotel number is listed properly elsewhere.
Nothing is worth the hassle you have to go through for this.
Wow! I cannot say enough good things about Thia and Co! Let's just say I was extremely frustrated with the invitation process when I came across this store. I had been dealing with all kinds of people not getting back to me and sending me on my own search for what I wanted. I was panicked and called Thia and Co. All I can say is, WOW! Dan put my mind at ease. Within five minutes of talking to him, he knew exactly what I was envisioning, called the invitation vendor, and got the ball rolling. We set up an appointment and my dream invitations became reality! He was very accommodating with appointment times, e-mails, and everything imaginable.
Dan really went the extra mile in making sure everything was perfect before sending the invitation to the vendor for processing. He was very professional and patient. He makes his own "proof" for wording, spelling, and basic layout. This is extremely helpful so that you don't pay for extra proofs from the vendor. Great customer service.
Dan also printed the names and addresses for the inner and outer envelopes. They turned out beautiful!
He really listens to what you want, offers suggestions, and is really supportive in the process. He has great ideas and turned what I thought would be a pretty invitation into a magnificent one.
I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. If you want reassurance to know that everything will turn out exactly how you envisioned it, there is no doubt, you need to go to Thia and Co!
Largest selection of invitations EVER! They have all the albums memorized and can make what ever you want happen. They know all of the rules and changes that can be done for each company. If you want a one stop shop, GO HERE!
I don't remember what I paid total at this place, but I do know it is a little more expensive than some places, but the service and product you get are incredible and worth it. I did invitations, flower girl stuff, ring bearer stuff, favors, and gifts for the wedding party (bridesmaids only here) all at this store. They have it all. I got beautiful compacts for all the girls that are very fancy and I had them engraved with their initials. The invitations were top notch and everyone loved them! The shop is small and located in Wheaton, IL. It is run by a married couple and they are fantastic. If you are looking for great service and a superior product, stop in and check the place out, you will not be disappointed.
This is a small shop located in the heart of Wheaton. Mary Ellen and her husband Dan Fyock run this shop and they are very knowledgeable and fantastic people. They have books and books of gorgeous invitations to look through and they will gladly sit there with you for hours looking through each and every one of them until you find what is best for you. They have a full shop of stuff for flower girls and ring bearers as well. Any favor you could ever want for the wedding or for your bridesmaids is at this shop as well. I bought these beautiful fancy compacts for the girls in my wedding and had them engraved with their initials on the back. The favors I bought were heart shaped, silver place card holders that the guests could take home and put a photo in. I also bought my guest book, pen, and garter through this shop. If you are looking to get a lot done at one place and get great customer service and attention, this is the place to go.
Dan was amazing... gave great advice. Beautiful invitations.
Dan did an incredible job with our invitations, programs, and thank you cards. We developed a color/theme that we maintained throughout all the print jobs. He shared his many experiences with us that were not only helpful to the print jobs, but also to the general wedding planning. He developed many different proofs for us to review and stayed patient and professional with us throughout the process. Our invitations turned out to be unique and different and very personal to us. We couldn't have been happier with the outcome and our experience working with Thia.
Very nice couple who owns the business. I bought the guest book, beautiful flower girl baskets, and invitations there.
Thia & Co. did a great job on our wedding invitations, except that they put the wrong date on it. They worked with us from three states away to get the invitations JUST as we wanted them, and that alone says a lot about them. I would definitely recommend them, just make sure you double and TRIPLE check ALL the wording on the invitations!
Dan was such a great asset to have on our side. I told him what kind of invitations I wanted, what my theme was and color scheme, and he pulled out a couple of invitations that were perfect. My fiance and I had ours chosen in 10 minutes. This company has so much to choose from, but also has an amazing command of their inventory that I realized any project with Dan would be very easy because he knows his products.
He was very very helpful, offered to do some design work for our directions page of our invitation for no extra charge, stayed open 3 hours past closing to accommodate our schedules on 3 different occasions, and was extremely pleasant. I would go back to Thia and Co. for any and every occasion.
