My original Make Up artist fell through and I panicked! I called Tica about a month before my wedding, and was booked with Heather W that day which was a huge relief. Heather viewed my "wedding ideas" Pinterest page and was prepared with what I wanted the day of our trial, which made me feel very comfortable. Let me just say Heather was a joy to work with and our make up looked amazing! She was very responsive leading up to the wedding and was very professional on my wedding day. I highly recommend Tica, and specifically Heather!

Marti is extremely talented! I loved having her do my makeup for my wedding. My consultation was so much fun-- she listened to me as I described the look I was going for. On the day of the wedding, she came to my hotel suite and did the makeup of my three bridesmaids in addition to me. Everyone just loved her and their makeup looked flawless! Marti was a smart and easy decision. After working with her my maid of honor decided to use her for her wedding as well! During trials she is very intent on delivering exactly what you want, and will ask you at each stage of the trial what you think of what she has done. Also, I changed the get ready location for myself three times, and Marti was accommodating to every single change, even though the last one was done by cell phone and when she was only 10 miles away from the wedding!! I would recommend everyone to use her as she is smart, funny, talented, and by the end of it she really becomes invested in her brides. She even did three people extra who decided to get it done the day of, and accomplished everything she needed to do in plenty of time! NOt only is Marti an extremely talented make-up artist, but she is also a very good person and delivers a better product at a more than fair price. in summary, GO WITH MARTI!!!

Marti is amazing! One of the best decisions I made for my wedding was hiring her to do my makeup, as well as my mom, mother-in-law and five bridesmaids. She brought an assistant at no additional cost because there was so many of us. Besides her talent as a makeup artist, Marti is very professional and just a joy to be around. Marti is amazing! She did make-up for 7 for my wedding and everyone turned out great! She is so easy to work with and her make-up application is pretty, natural, and long lasting... and we had a great time at both my trial run and on the wedding day. I got married in September 2010 and Marti was wonderful to work with! She was responsive, professional and personable too! She was a true pleasure to have there on your special day and the Tica makeup she used was wonderful. I wanted a natural look and she did just that. Marti was fantastic. I'm an older bride who doesn't wear make-up and didn't want to look "made-up!" She made my wish come true. She was on time the day of, engaged my sister-in-law and best friend while doing my make-up which allowed me to stay calm and distracted. My guests thought I was absolutely beautiful and that's how I felt the entire day! I highly recommend Marti. I love her work because she makes you look natural and yet polished- not looking too "done up" live at the wedding, and yet looking beautiful, smooth, and put together in the photos.

I met with Marti for a make-up trial about a week before the wedding and found her to be very outgoing and easy to talk with so she immediately put me at ease. She understood the look I wanted and did an excellent job during both the trial run and on the wedding day. I got many compliments on how pretty and natural my make-up looked which is exactly what I wanted.
I ended up getting sick on the day of the wedding and Marti even offered to pick up medication for me on her way to the hotel which I really appreciated. Again, I would recommend her services without hesitation.

Marti is a calming presence on what can be an emotional and hectic day. Her make-up feels so light on your skin, and it lasts all day (which is quite a feat, considering the bridal party gets made up early for photos). She is great with color and makes you look like the best version of yourself - never fake or "too done." Marti is reasonable, punctual and really easy to talk to - a pleasure to work with.

Marti was one of my favorite vendors. She is just one of the nicest, most personable people I have ever met. She was so much fun to have in the suite with us as we were getting ready. Marti is also a consummate professional. She arrives early to appointments, manages her time well so she can be entirely focused on the person she is working on and is usually able to squeeze prople in who decide at the last minute want to be done up. As for my make-up it was flawless, perfect with my skin tone and dress, looked very natural but also good in pictures and stayed on all day. I misplaced my wedding day lipstick (Bridal Rose from Marti's own line of cosmetics that I would recommend to any bride) and Marti graciously gave me her sample tube to take with me. As for value, when it comes to trial, day off make-up and travel (which I do not believe Marti charges for) you will not find a better deal. All the other vendors I researched charged at least $100 for travel, not Marti. At the end of the day I would highly recommend Marti. In addition to being a fantastic vendor I call Marti a friend.

Marti was great. I had 3 previous make-up consultations, each one making me look like i had stage make-up on. I stressed to Marti that I wanted a natural look, and she did wonders. She was careful to make sure that I was comfortable with everything that she was doing. In fact, she listened so well that i had to tell her to put more make-up on. This was perfect for me because i felt that i had complete control over the process. Lastly, my fiance hates it when i put on too much make-up and so when he told me that my make-up was perfect, i knew marti had done a spectacular job.

Marti did my sister�s and my makeup at both of our weddings. I had makeup trials with 4 different makeup artists before contracting with Marti. The other women covered my eyes with dark charcoals and grays for dramatic effect and never listened to my desire to have more subtle colors. Marti took the time to find out wanted and was able to capture the colors and effect I envisioned for my wedding day. Additionally, she was a pleasure to work with. I will undoubtedly return to Marti any time I need makeup done in the future.

Marti did an amazing job on everyone's makeup!!! She arrived early and did makeup for the bride, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, and flower girls. The make up for each person was complimentary and beautiful. No one looked over done. Guests (and parents) particularly commented on how well she did on the young girls - she made them up without making them look made up!! My makeup was perfect. Marti did an amazing job on my makeup on my wedding day. She was the second makeup artist I had a trial with and she did a great job. She talked with me about what kind of look I was going for and she did exactly what I wanted. During the trial I told her I wanted my eyes to pop and she let me look at my eye makeup and see if it was enough or if I wanted more. She was so nice!
On wedding day she came to my hotel to do my makeup and was about 30 minutes early and came with everything she needed. She was very professional and got along with everyone including my photographer. Marti was great. She traveled to the hotel where we were getting ready and did make-up for me and my maid of honor. She was early, which was great, because there was no rush. She is so personable and relaxed that she kept me relaxed, too. After I got home from my trial, I decided that I wanted different lip color. When I emailed her, she said no problem and she noted that on the very detailed notes that she made of the trial for use on the day of. I can't recommend her enough.

I located Marti originally from the Knot. I then spent a good deal of time searching for her information online, for reviews given by other customers. I was struck by the fact that, on multiple wedding websites, she received several reviews, all of which were overwhelmingly positive. I felt pretty strongly that, for the amount of money you invest in a photographer you should be camera-ready that day, so investing in a makeup artist was important to me and I just wanted to find the right person for the job. My goal was to look beautiful and polished, but not airbrushed. When I contacted Marti, she made it clear from the start (and pictures of other brides showed this too) that she is not heavy-handed. She also has a very impressive resume and has made a career of helping women to look beautiful. We met for a trial sometime in the spring of 2009, and despite the fact that I had completely lost my voice and couldn't talk above a whisper, I had a very enjoyable time with Marti. She made me feel comfortable, and she put up with my lack of a voice with grace and humor. I was extremely pleased with the level of coverage she provided, and her explanation of the different steps involved--preparing your skin, matting the skin, and applying the foundation. She was so flexible, and told me that we could do more or less coverage, just to let her know. I wasn't sure what type of look I wanted, so during the trial she picked some colors for us to try on the eyes. She explained what colors are complimentary to certain eye colors and skin tones, and helped me to develop a look that was right for me. On the wedding day, Marti showed up a few minutes early, was bright and relaxed, and took her time with me. She did such a beautiful job. I received countless compliments throughout the day on how beautiful I looked, and I am so grateful. It makes me so happy to know that my wedding pictures will capture me looking truly elegant and lovely and I thank Marti in no small part for that. Perhaps the most amazing part is that, despite the August heat and humidity of Virginia, and a long and hectic day of driving, the wedding, more driving (on Rte. 95 traffic), and a reception that lasted until after 11 p.m., the makeup held up--the only "touch ups" that I needed were to use the oil blotting sheets (that Marti recommended), and one touch up of the lipstick that we bought from her. It was a great day, and I thank Marti kindly for her wonderful assistance in the day.

A month before my wedding I made the decision to have my makeup professionally applied. Tica Beauty was referred to me by co-workers. She responded and fit me in quickly. She kept in contact with me and on the day of my wedding she arrived nice and early to accommodate makeup for my 2 attendants; while keeping my makeup the priority. She kept me relaxed as my moment approached. I had wonderful compliments on my makeup.

Marti is an amazing person and make up artist! She not only is very talented in what she does (finding the perfect shade of foundation and complimentary colors to accent cheeks and eyes), she is also a wonderful caring person.

From the trial to the ¨big day¨ she makes you feel so important and special and allows you to feel comfortable with your decisions. (For example, even though the color of blue eyeshadow brought out my blue eyes, she could tell that I was just a little timid about it and she made the brown, more of my comfort zone, look just as glamorous!)

On a more personal note, she was very comforting to me when I was worried about arriving late to the ceremony. I had a friend do my hair and he is very talented but it took much longer than expected. She only had about 10 minutes to apply and she was able to do a beautiful job without appearing rushed and was calming me the whole time. In that 10 minutes, I feel like the make up looked like it took hours upon hours- just glamorous! She even helped with my veil!!

I cannot say enough good things about Marti Wright! I called her less than two weeks before my wedding day and not only was she available; she came out to my house to do the make-up trial. She was extremely friendly and kind and she kept trying looks on me until I found the one I liked. Then on the day of my wedding she arrived early like she said she would and she got right to work. We had a very fun experience getting ready in my bridal suite and Marti was lively and joking and laughing right along with us like we had known each other forever. The very best thing about Marti, which is why I chose her and why you should absolutely consider her, is that she is pleasant, calming, and fun. After my hair was done and my veil was in, I sat in Marti's hi-top chair in a hotel suite. I absolutely LOVED Marti Wright at Tica Beauty. Her work was excellent, she was professional in every way, and yet the best part to me as a bride was that she was more than a makeup artist. I really enjoyed working with Marti Wright of Tica. She was easy to book with, and had recommendations for other vendors that I was still looking to secure. My trial run was in her lovely home, although now I understand she's taken up residency in a shop. She's wonderfully chatty and easy to talk to. She asked pointed questions that allowed her to assess just what I had in mind for my wedding makeup. Her first run was perfect although she did allow me to try some other lip colors (her first instinct was the right one, however--why did I ever doubt it??).

Marti was originally scheduled to come at 11:30 just to do my makeup (bridal), but had no problems coming at 11 to add on my stepmom. She even put some lip gloss and blush on my little sister (and kept my 6 yo sister occupied "cleaning brushes").

In sum, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her, and everything positive to say. I highly recommend booking her for your next event. She even does girls' birthday parties where she teaches makeup application.

I adore Marti. Her trials take place in Vienna, at her studio. She likes to book trials ASAP so that you can see how she works. She travels to your location on the day of. She has a wonderful personality and really knows what she's doing. Marti was open to my worries and concerns. She is extremely talented and everyone loved their makeup on my wedding day. All day/evening everyone talked about the great work she did. She's a sweetheart and you won't find anyone better than her.

Marti was extremely flexible, and willing to meet wherever it was convenient for me on the wedding day. She was professional and patient when dealing with my quirks (I get jittery when brushes and pencils are close to my eyes) and she made the entire makeup experience very pleasant. Marti did a great job with my bridal party's makeup. My trial with her went very well, and she was great with suggesting outside products to bring on the wedding day (my own waterproof mascara, shades of lipstick). Leading up to the wedding, she was happy to answer questions about facials/waxing and additional services such as fake eyelashes. On my wedding day, she arrived early to set up and did makeup for 5 bridesmaids, my mother, and myself. I was very happy with my makeup, and she left me some powder to apply for touch-ups the rest of the night. Overall my makeup lasted all night, though I did get shiny near the end of the night. Some of my bridesmaids got fake eyelashes done, and they felt that they would have liked more eyelashes put on, but other than that they were happy about how their makeup looked as well. I would highly recommend Tica Beauty & Cosmetics. Marti is reliable, talented, has great energy, and she will make any bride look and feel her best on her wedding day.

I've worked with Marti from Tica on two separate occasions when the brides chose her as a makeup artist and AnnaMuhhinaPhotography for photography coverage.

As a professional photographer servicing many weddings I couldn't help but notice how good the brides looked at the event and on my photos in Marti's makeup. Both of them mentioned how much personal attention they received from Marti and her assistant. She is a consummate professional and an artist. So much so that I'd chose her as my makeup artist for my own wedding!

Marti was wonderful. I met her at a wedding were she was applying the bride's make-up. The first thing she said to me was "you lip color is beautiful on you." I was there to officiate the wedding. The bride was a little fussy and Marti was quite professional. She listened and then made the adjustments requested. When I was in the market for a make-up artist for my own wedding, I went to Marti's studio with my mother for a trial. Marti listened to what I wanted and delievered. She then made notes based on her application and color selections so that when we met next (my wedding day), she knew exactly what she needed. My sister-in-law and best friend watched as Marti transformed me into a beautiful bride! She arrived at the appointed time, chatted to calm me, and then proceeded to apply the make-up. One of my dear friends loved what Marti did to my eyes. For me it was a true transformation but very natural because I only wear lip color. If I had it to do over again, Marti would be there with me!

Marti Wright is amazing! Although she can work with brides with many different styles, I feel her biggest strength is with brides who typically wear minimal make-up and prefer a natural look. On their wedding day they still look like themselves, just an even prettier version. The smile on their face says it all! Her calming demeanor is so relaxing on the day of the wedding and every bride that I have referred to Marti has loved her!
