Tip of the Tongue's tag line is "great taste is just the beginning." Indeed this motto best describes the services Scott and Eric provided. From the moment we met Scott and Eric at the tasting we knew we had found our match (this is after a half a dozen or so tastings.) Scott and Eric custom tailored our wedding to perfection. Scott created an entire new cuisine since he brought in a Persian flare to his food (a bold and creative voluntary move on his part) that was unparalleled as attested by every single Persian guest at the wedding (that is not a simple task as Persians are foodies and picky). My fiance and I also wanted an extended cocktail hour set up since we wanted dancing to be central to the evening. so Scott designed a party that allowed for a fluid, fun and dynamic evening in what he called a "Persian palace". This style ran counter to my parents' desires so Scott offered a private family style dining in another room for my father and his friends. With his casual and calm demeanor he managed to please everyone!!Scott and Eric's attention to detail allowed the evening to go beyond smoothy. They delivered a product beyond all expectations. We can NOT wait to work with them again

Scott and Eric were absolutely fabulous to work with and went above and beyond for our wedding-- our venue space was completely raw and they helped us design the perfect event from an exciting tapas style menu just the way we wanted, right down to the tables,chairs and linens that created the look and feel of the party.

Not only that, they are wonderful people to work with, very professional and very fun!!

We had a beautiful wedding at Angel Orensanz and the food from Tip of the Tongue was fantastic. We spent a lot of time tasting and picking the menu. We were really happy with our choices and everyone still mentions the food when the wedding comes up. Scott was very helpful and patient going through all the details...more details than I ever thought about. Eric is an unbelievable pastry chef and took care of the wedding cake which was one less thing we had to deal with. The desserts were far better than any we tried with other larger caterers. We loved the personal attention and flexibility and had a lot of confidence knowing the owners would represent their brand at the event.

I got married 3 weeks ago and hands down, Eric and Scott with their amazing food and flawless execution, were one of the reasons my wedding will be forever unforgettable. Friends and guests I continue to talk to and run into cannot stop RAVING about how delicious the food was. I was faced with some challenges when I got married because, contrary to what the reception venue said, the place didn't lend itself to a sit down meal for my # of guests. Scott and Eric were very honest with me about that when I told them where the reception was taking place and I really appreciated that. They suggested a tapas style serving style that I had never heard of and was weary about because it is uncommon for weddings. To carry off a tapas style serving style with 7 waves of food, meant the food had to be amazing. And were they ever right?!!!! My reception turned out to be just as elegant as sit down, so much fun, everyone raved and loved the food and had plenty to eat. Honestly, picking them was the best choice I ever made for such a special day!

Seriously, Scott and Eric at Tip of the Tongue are the GREATEST caterers in the NY area. I met with/called/emailed about a dozen caterers after researching several dozen others as the food was the most critical component of our wedding. Scott and Eric were hands down the most responsive, professional, and informative of them all. To boil it down: the food was absolutely incredible, we still talk about it to this day and I'm not kidding; the quantity of food was beyond sufficient -- we actually ate our way through our wedding so it was crucial to us that there was plenty, and boy was there!; we had a cocktail-style wedding and every single tray/platter/display of food was stunning; even though we were very specific (and a bit opinionated about our preferences), both Scott and Eric knew exactly what we were looking for and made the perfect suggestions (they even guided us to or from certain choices that they thought would or would not work with our overall presentation); they created a dish or two to fulfill certain requests and even though it was their first time making them, the dishes were over-the-top amazing; our cake was perfection; they not only took care of the food, they helped rent any and all of the additional supplies that we needed, including finding the perfect color linens; Eric created the most perfect specialty cocktail; Scott was indispensible in setting the tone of the wedding, taking care of the "mom of the bride" requests, and making every possible suggestion as to how to keep the budget within our range even when we didn't ask; did I say that the food was incredible???? Honestly, I don't know why you would go anywhere else. Your search should end now.

When I started looking for caterers, TOT was the first I called. I had a ton of questions and didn't really know where to start. Scott, the owner/chef, spent 30 min with me on the phone, answering my questions and offering very helpful advice. He sent his proposal when he said he would and he scheduled a tasting according to my schedule. I had a much harder time trying to connect with the larger companies (Abigail Kirsch, Feast & Fetes, Hudson Yards) which was frustrating. The tasting was great and fun and the food they prepared for my wedding of more 150 was terrific. My guests ate and ate and raved about the quality of the food (a huge priority for my husband and me). Additionally, I never had to chase them down for anything. They worked with us flexibly, respected our budget, and gave us honest and fair advice throughout the process. This a highly professional, intelligent, stylish operation. HIGHLY recommend!

Tip of the Tongue was a fabulous caterer. We did passed hors d'oeuvres and tapas for our wedding food and they helped us create a menu that was fun and fit the feel of our party. Scott was extremely organized throughout the process and responsive to all my emails and calls. He was flexible with everything I wanted to do myself and made recommendations for how best to organize the evening. And the food was amazing! All of our guests said it was the best wedding food they ever had. And we agree!

One of the most important things about my wedding day was going to be the food. When you are feeding numerous Italian American family members, one of the big concerns is having good, familiar food and plenty of it. Tip of the Tongue came through for us. The food was served family style (our choice) and dishes were adapted to our tastes and the tastes of our guests. They were always courteous and quick to respond to our inquiries. When we wanted to reduce our budget a bit, they worked with us to give us a beautiful wedding and fabulous food.

The servers and bartenders were pleasant and very knowledgeable about their jobs. Everything was on schedule and a good time was had by all!

The wedding cake was fabulous, too! And THAT is very unusual (most wedding cakes look nice but don't taste that good in my experience).

Here is a good example of how well we worked with Scott and Eric of Tip of the Tongue Caterers. We were told that the cake we picked as our dessert would not hold up on display until the dessert course (it was June, after all!). I wanted a display cake and so Eric, the pastry chef, made and decorated a styrofoam model of the cake which was beautiful and totally looked real (and is on their website -- the 3-tiered one with the purple hydrangeas and striped ribbon). In addition, the chocolate cake with passion fruit mousse that we actually ate was delicious. I have never had anything like it, either before or since.

Tip of the Tongue even gave us a tip on different venues in NYC, which was a key to making our wedding very memorable. It was a happy occasion (despite the rain) and we and our guests loved the ambience, the food and the venue!

Let's face it, planning a wedding can be stressful, but I must say that in 6 months, we planned a lovely small wedding (50 guests) with a minimum of stress and we stayed within our budget. Tip of the Tongue Caterers was essential in making this happen for us!

Scott and Eric work with every budget and are honest with costs. They are attentitive and responsive to all bridezillas. I wish I could have another wedding so that I could use them again.
