Union Street Papery

The ladies that work here are sooooo helpful! My wife and I were working on an extremely small budget for invites, menus, table cards, etc. and not only did the staff treat us like we were dropping 3 bills on thangs, they even worked on ways to make our already cheap invites even cheaper! Every person we worked with was informed, prompt in their responses to our emails, and quick to fix problems with the proofs. We'd stopped in at a number of Papyrus stores before we found Union St. Papery and are extremely happy we did NOT end up using them. Papyrus is great, but it's a chain and I think the customer service lacks because people come in strictly because of the name. Union St. Papery has everything Papyrus has and more, including a kick-ass staff. So, support a local business! Because of all the help the staff provided during our many months of stressful planning, they've gained two new life-time customers looking forward to seeing them again very soon.

Union Street Papery did our wedding invitations. The place is a small boutique store on charming Union Street in San Francisco. The staff there is very knowledgeable and friendly. We spent several hours looking through invitation albums and samples, and the staff was there to help us and answer any and all questions we had. They helped us decide on the wording of the invitation, which was great! They have been doing invitations for so long, that they know exactly what to say and how to say it. The whole process was rather simple. We received our order in just a few weeks, and we were good to go!

i found invitations to be one of the more overwhelming aspects of planning my wedding. what design? what colors? what type of printing method? how many pieces do i need? do i want a pocket envelope? what should the wording be? after scanning various fabulous websites (good on paper, a day in may, hello lucky, etc) i decided it was time to go into an actual store and start browsing samples in books.

union street papery is a great store to visit to see real life samples for most of the well known vendor/design options out there. the ladies are very experienced in putting together invitations. if you just want to browse and gather ideas, they'll leave you alone to the books. on my second visit back, i was ready to put together the order. i worked with Kate - who was great at steering me in the right direction after hearing what i wanted. the store is always very busy, but i never felt rushed. she kept showing me options and suggesting ideas for all aspects of the invitation until every last detail was decided.

the turnaround time is extremely fast. after placing my order on a saturday afternoon, i received the proof of my design by monday! the final product was gorgeous. the quality of the letterpress was very good and i am very proud to be sending out my invitations this week!
