Q: Do you use lights, tripods or dollys?
A: Most ceremonies are shot using tripods and dollys. Most receptions are shot hand held. We only use camera mounted lighting with the minimum amount of wattage necessary.

Q: How long is a finished DVD?
A: It depends on the type of party and package chosen, but most DVD’s can run anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours, 40 minutes.

Q: Can we be involved in the editing process?
A: Not in the physical editing of the video itself or in the viewing of raw footage, but in any pre-production decision, such as the use of black and white, special effects, titles or any post production decisions such as, inappropriate happenings at the event that you do not want included. On our end, anything questionable or out of the ordinary we would contact you to get your feedback.

Q: What do the videographers wear to an event?
A: All of our videographers dress in formal wear.

Q: Is the unedited footage available?
A: Yes, whether it’s included in a package or as an addition.

Q: What format do you shoot in?
A: Digital – Either MiniDV or DVCAM.

Q: What is non-linear editing?
A: Non-linear editing involves the use of a hard drive to edit as opposed to editing with videotape. The result is a cleaner, clearer, crisper look. It allows us to give you a copy as close to the original as possible.

Q: How long does it take for us to receive our video?
A: Most videos are delivered (as long as we have all materials needed to complete the video – such as photos, music, etc.) in 3 months after the event. We do not guarantee a delivery date because we are unable to predict the amount of time spent on each individual video. Our goal is to give you the most entertaining and smooth flowing video possible. We may not have the fastest turnaround time, but we produce videos to last a lifetime.

Q: Are our photos and materials returned?
A: Yes, once your video is complete and delivered to you. We realize your photos are precious memories and take the utmost care of them.

Q: Do you carry liability insurance?
A: Yes, if your reception hall requests a copy of our policy coverage, we are more than happy to send it to your banquet manager.

Q: What is your overtime policy?
A: Our packages are full day coverage. Although if your events runs over the time we are scheduled to finish videotaping due to an extension of the party there is a $200.00 fee per hour for overtime.

Q: Are there any travel charges?
A: There are no travel charges for North Jersey. There is a travel charge assessed for events held in upstate New York, Connecticut, New York City and South of Exit 125 off the Garden Start Parkway. The travel charges vary depending on the area.

Q: Do you get along with still photographers?
A: In the nearly 25 years we have been in business, we have very rarely had a problem with a still photographer. We believe that we are both there to produce the best possible product for our client. We have many associates in the photography business. The only time we have a problem is when we are not given the chance to capture your day the way we had agreed upon. The photographer needs to respect us as well and let us get the shots we need. We believe it is a collaboration not a competition.

Q: What is your payment policy?
A: Upon booking we require a third of the total package price. The next deposit (another third) is due 4 weeks before the date of the event. The balance (final third) is due once your video is complete and we arrange delivery with you.

Q: What happens if my video is lost or destroyed?
A: We retain the unedited footage in digital format for three years. After this time, you are able to purchase it. Therefore, we are able to produce another copy of your video if such a catastrophe occurs. There is an editing charge in this instance.

Q: What happens if my videographer is sick or unable to videotape my event?
A: After being in business for nearly 25 years, this has never happened. That’s not to say it cannot happen. We only schedule two weddings maximum for one day and we have a total of six shooters. Therefore, there is always a backup person available.

Q: Do you use a wireless microphone at the ceremony?
A: Yes, wireless microphone in the UHF format is used at the ceremony, in most cases on the groom. It is very small and unnoticeable.
