We've been in Ann Arbor since 1968 and at our current location in downtown since 1988. We are a family owned business where the owners, Mark and Cheryl, are almost always on-site. Our forte? Superior customer service and
outstanding quality and craftsmanship. We have two master goldsmiths and a graduate gemologist on staff and ALL of our work is done on the premises. We have a large collection of loose gemstones and overnight access to some of the

Is your jewelry hand crafted?
Yes, we can custom-create an engagment ring or any other piece of fine jewelry, and all work is done on the premises.
Do you offer custom design other than selecting the stone and setting separately?
Absolutely! That's our specialty!
Do you carry customary wedding jewelry such as Claddaghs or Kundan necklaces?
We make custom Claddagh's and other similar pieces
Do you offer ring sizing in-house? If yes, how long will an average custom order take, from initial contact to delivery?
Not only do we offer on-site ring sizing, but other jewelry repair as well. A custom designed piece of jewelry will take anywhere from a few days to three weeks, depending on its' complexity and our work load at the time.
Do you offer stone upgrades if the client purchases their original stone with you?
A diamond purchased from Urban Jewelers may be traded in toward a larger stone (as long as the original stone is not damaged). An upgrade requires doubling the amount of the original purchase.
Do you offer a payment plan?
We have a flexible lay-away plan and we accept Master Card, Visa and Discover cards.
Additional Advice
- To keep your new engagement ring and/or wedding band looking good, we suggest that you bring it in for a no-charge cleaning and checking AT LEAST every 6 months. Remember, a ring, just like a car, will get dirty and need an occasional bath and polish (refinishing). Good maintenance will help ensure a lifetime of enjoyment !
- It is nearly impossible to buy a diamond on-line (sight unseen). Diamonds are like people...two or more can be the exact same height and weight, with the same hair and eye color, yet not look anything alike! You can't tell how a diamond will look by looking at statistics on a piece of paper!
- Buy fine jewelry from someone you trust and are comfortable with. It may be a relationship that lasts for years to come.
