Urban Poppy

If I could score higher than 5, I would. Anissa at Urban Poppy created EXACTLY what I had always dreamt of. Talking to her over the phone, I realized that I had chosen the right floral designer. She took my ideas and created a Pinterest page so we could get more on board with one another. She listened to me 100% and took what I said and created the most beautiful arrangements! My bouquet was completely different from my Bridesmaids and yet completely cohesive.

I was worried with an outdoor wedding that whatever florals I went with would clash with what nature was offering, but I felt the exact opposite after the work I saw. I HIGHLY recommend Anissa and Urban Poppy. I wish I had another reason to use her work!

Anissa created my dream wedding look and the compliments on the flowers have not stopped!

Anissa was one of our best investments (along with our photographer). She did the flower arrangements, decorated our ceremony site and did the flowers for our reception site. We wanted something that was the perfect combination of subtle and elegant- beautiful, but not ostentatious. She pulled it off marvelously! She has such a passion for what she does and it shows in her work. She is a very warm person and is both flexible and easy to work with. We are very, very pleased with Anissa and would absolutely recommend her.

I hesitate to provide a review here because in the end my flower order turned out pretty well. I also know how much vendors rely on reviews to get new business. You'll see that my review seems harsh compared to the amount of stars I gave. This is because some of these issues may not be a big deal to others, but they were annoyances to me.

1) Urban Poppy was really hard to get a hold of and I couldn't reach the owner at all the week my final payment was due. This means that I was stressing out about getting my order finalized.

2) I asked Urban Poppy to create some centerpieces for me when I realized I had some extra money in my budget. She agreed to help me, but said she had to charge me a certain amount in order to make it "worth her time." And I was really turned off by that response and it felt like she really didn't want to do them. Plus when I asked her to e-mail me an actual quote for the price of these centerpieces I never got it. I decided to do centerpieces myself.

3) She didn't ask me what color ribbon I wanted until the day before my wedding when I was stressed out and busy. This seemed like a last minute detail she should have taken care of earlier.

4) I don't know if this is normal or not, but some of my flowers had already started to turn by the time my wedding rolled around and there were weird water dropplet marks on my succulents. This could just be from our fridge being too cold or the flowers going through too many temperature changes. Not sure.

5) And finally, this was probably the deal breaker, if you are picking up your flowers you need to get the pick up address from her. I assumed that we were picking up at the address on our contract. However, that was her billing address. My sister had to call and get the studio address. Anissa admitted that that happens to her a lot. Hmm, maybe she should make it clear where flowers need to be picked up. The last thing a bride needs on her wedding day is to run around looking...

I remember in our initial planning that flowers were a low priority for us - why spend money on something that will only last a day? Needless to say, I am SO GLAD Anissa helped change our minds. Everyone was gushing over the arrangements and while the flowers might not have lasted, the photos will be around forever. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Anissa did such an amazing job with the floral arrangements at our wedding. Her excitement and enthusiasm throughout the entire planning process made her wonderful to work with. She was full of creative ideas, and overall was extremely passionate about my wedding, and her art. The final product was beyond what I had envisioned. Words cannot describe how incredibly beautiful everything turned out. I absolutely loved the center pieces. It felt like a David Tutera wedding (on a much smaller budget), and I cannot thank Anissa enough for everything that she did. I never would have imagined that I could have had such a beautiful wedding.

I absolutely loved the floral designs for my wedding. My bouquet was stunning and the floral sprays for the arbor were breathtaking. Anissa has a keen ability to capture one's vision for a wedding. She listens, asks questions and offers expert advice. She is detail-oriented too. I also love the fact that she incorporates non-floral elements to designs.

Anissa at urban poppy is very talented and clearly has an eye for design. The bouquets she created for me and my bridesmaids were beautiful and met my expectations. I was however a bit disappointed with the execution of my husband's boutonnière as the ribbon was not secure and one of the flower fell off early on in the day. My reception flowers were lovely but not what I envisioned. I believe this was due to a miscommunication over the number of tables there were supposed to be. About 4 to 6 weeks before my wedding I discussed with Anissa my concern that there would not be enough centerpieces given the layout of the tables. She assured me there were enough but the day before my wedding called me and asked my permission to make some last minute changes because it was going to look sparse. Instead of having tall centerpieces as was planned she used those flowers to create more low centerpieces. It looked very nice but just not what I had pictured. I do appreciate her making that decision and getting my permission to do this given the situation but I wish she had listened to my concerns earlier on regarding there not being enough flowers. I would recommend Anissa because of her talent but I would also advise future clients to be certain everyone is on the same page.

Anissa at Urban Poppy made our whole design and vision come together! She went above and beyond just being our florist by taking the time to get a feel for what we were hoping to accomplish, and she made it all come together perfectly!

I had an amazing experience working with Anissa at Urban Poppy. She is so talented at her craft, and her passion comes through in the gorgeous floral arrangements she creates. She was able to take my vision for my wedding and translate it into perfect arrangements. I was completely awestruck by how beautiful everything was that she created for us on our wedding day. Anissa is amazing! I booked her for my destination wedding without ever meeting her! I just went off her website, positive reviews, and a phone conversations. Anissa looked through my personal wedding pinterest board and listened to my vision than made me a pinterest board based on them, to show me what she was thinking. She always checked with me to make sure my flowers were exactly right by asking tons of questions. Anissa was so accommodating when I changed the number of boutineers and corsages. And when they arrived! They were perfect! I am in love with my boutique. And all my guests keep complimenting the centerpieces.

As an additional bonus, Anissa works with a long term care ward to give destination brides like me the option to donate their flowers after the wedding instead of letting them go to waste. Instead your flowers can give someone else cheer!

Anissa is an amazing florist. She extended herself multiple times for our long distance planning (even for a phone consultation over the holiday season). She took great care to fully understand our preferences and initial ideas around color and different flowers. We started with very simple ideas and Anissa was able to recommend multiple combinations of flowers that made what we could not verbalize come to fruition. She was very flexible in helping us stick to our budget as well. The final arrangements were so beautiful just as anticipated. To be honest, the florals were not a high priority in our planning until we spoke with Anissa. Her ideas, samples, and effort excited us more than expected. The flowers ended up being one of our most favorite elements of the wedding. Anissa was always very responsive and professional in working with us. Anissa of Urban Poppy was such an incredible vendor (and person, in general) to work with! My fiance and I planned our Savannah wedding from South Florida and since we had to rely 90% on email communication, we were so concerned that we would lose that personal input that makes a wedding so special. This was completely not the case when working with Urban Poppy. From the get-go, i felt like Anissa knew exactly what I wanted, even in areas where I myself didn't know. I was rarely able to articulate how I imagined the flowers to be and she was able to pull it from me and add her own amazing creative touch Urban Poppy is known for. Our flowers were unique and unlike anything our guests had ever seen before (which was so important to me). We are beyond thankful for Anissa and Urban Poppy and feel so lucky to have found them. After being informed by our florist that she was unable to accomodate us due to a medical emergency, Urban Poppy Wedding, agreed to provide flowers for our wedding only a few weeks before the event. We were extremely pleased with the wonderful services provided. Our ideas were worked into the arrangements including our cotton collected as part of the decorations. All the flowers were beyond our expectations. Where to begin? Anissa with Urban Poppy is brilliant. She took as much time as I needed for her to understand my vision. She was willing to pour through photos, CAD drawings, etc. to fully appreciate what I wanted for my wedding. And when I changed the design of the bridal bouquet a couple of weeks before the wedding (after a moment of panic when I realized that the color I had chosen actually clashed with my dress), she rolled with it and designed a bouquet of perfection in its place. I have not attended any weddings where guests even noticed - let alone raved - about the flowers, but so many of my guests have commented on the reception flowers and my bouquet - they were absolutely stunning. I highly recommend Urban Poppy.

Anissa did an amazing job on our ceremony and reception flowers. She was always there to answer any questions I had. Anissa was great with getting all my scattered ideas and making them into the perfect flowers for our wedding. She is very knowledgeable of all the styles of todays brides. I My flowers were definitely my favorite aspect of my wedding. Absolutely stunning!

Urban Poppy did a great job of understanding exactly what I was looking for. She incorporated my personal tastes as well as a bit of my personality into the flowers. They turned out beautifully. She also came up with creative ways to help me save money and utilize my flowers for table arrangements at the reception - this cut my costs immensely and looked amazing. I used Urban Poppy for the bouquets, boutonnières and mother's corsages. All were well done and beautiful! Anissa did a wonderful job figuring out what I wanted (I was very unsure what I wanted at first) and bringing my color scheme together for a beautifully finished product.

Anissa did a great job talking with my mom and I to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Even when planning the wedding from a distance, she made me feel confident that everything would be beautiful. And the flowers were perfect!

Anissa did a wonderful job with our bouquets & corsages! We came to her with only two months before our wedding and she produced beautiful flowers within our budget. The only thing I did not like was that I asked for SMALL pomander balls for the flower girls because they are 3 years old and 5 years old. When she brought the balls, they were huge and probably weighed close to ten pounds. I did not get a chance to tell her this the day of the wedding with all the commotion. The poor little girls struggled to carry them down the aisle! Other than that-everything else was absolutely beautiful!

I was going for the DIY route, became stressed and was referred to Anissa by one of my bridesmaids and was so glad I chose to use her. Anissa was creative, worked with my budget and offered great advice on the flowers. She also went above and beyond and ordered me lilacs last minute when no one else could...which really made my day :). The arrangements she made had the right amount of flowers, colors and organic and unique textures that just worked perfectly. I definitly recommend Urban Poppy for your floral needs.
