I am so lucky to have booked Grace from Vale Of Enna for my wedding flowers! Her centerpieces were gorgeous and her prices were below that I received from other florists. I wanted something a bit different and she made the prettiest submerged and branch centerpieces I could have imagined. I received many compliments after the wedding about my flowers. Best of all, though, she was great to work with. It may take her a while to get your estimate to you, but do not let that deter you, because once booked she's so flexible and easy to work with. When my wedding was going over budget, she had no problem in letting me provide silk petals for the aisle runner instead of the fresh ones I had originally requested and she provided me with complimetary fresh petals for my picture table at the last minute! Also, I used her services to build a fabric mandap/chuppah with strings of orchids and her creation was stunning. She incorporated beautiful lighting effects and understood my style so well that everything looked absolutely perfect for me. Also, she was available late in the evenings, which made meeting with her even more stress-free!

Her flowers are simple, elegant and beautiful. Every wedding I've shot that she did the flowers for, I was very impressed by it.

Most flower shops have a store front, therefore, overhead. The Vale of Enna operates through a home workspace and studio, which alleviates the burden of most overhead and helps keep costs low - for everyone.

Our flowers are minimally marked-up and the closest you will see to wholesale prices on beautiful high-end and unusual flowers anywhere. We maintain quality products and service by making sure everything is fresh, well-conditioned and designed to the expressed style and vision of your wedding.

By scheduling a consultation, we will not only generate a detailed estimate of costs, but a floral vision that best expresses you and your fiance's characteristic style.

Rachel + Steve

I instantly fell in love with Rachel and Steve because not only were they incredibly sweet and fun (I know, I think all the couples I work with are sweet and fun, and yes, I do fall in love with all of them), but they started peppering the conversation with words like "herbs," "fiddlehead ferns," and "scabiosa pods" - all very telling selections. It's simliar to when I meet someone who says "I adore peonies" or "Protea/pincushions are so cool!" - you just know where the discussion should go and we just ran with it. We went into succulents and branches and twine and before we knew it, we had a floral vision that fit their theme of organic, earthy, fall, yet somehwat clean and modern.

The venue itself was new and unique for me. It's a beautiful, grand home situated on a lake in Lake Villa with grounds that include gardens, a tree-lined drive into the estate, and much privacy as it was hidden far away from the major roads. Rachel and Steve had their wedding party and family stay together at the gorgeous home for the weekend and had planned to have a largely outdoor affair for their wedding.

Unfortunately, it was freezing that day in early October. We all had anticipated weather in the upper 60's; that day we experienced temps closer to the lower 40's. Despite the major setback, this amazing couple made adjustments and ended up having a stunning tented reception and a clearly blissful day. Congratulations to this gorgeous, lovely couple!

A quick note on the flower girl bouquets: Rachel's mother made these herself with silk flowers, whcih blended perfectly with all the florals. I also love how this photo relays so much in the general feel and look of Rachel and Steve's wedding. Beautiful shot, Tyler!

Those...are my hands. I thought it was a fun lil cameo!

Simply beautiful shots of the flowers by Kristi!

The cakes were their centerpieces: hands down brilliant! Rachel and Steve asked me to decorate the top of the cakes in the style of their wedding. We alternated between green/brown for the white choclate cakes and orange/gold for the brown chocolate cakes. All the other accessories on the tables were provided by the couple. The details were wonderful.

Jency + Jimmy

If you've ever wondered how a deep aqua blue (with eggplant and gold) can be done beautifully as a wedding color, here is a wonderful example from this past September. This is probably the biggest wedding we have ever done (nearly a 1000 guests), which meant that no dinky lil hotel ballroom would do: Jency and Jimmy had to rent out a convention center! But what an amazing space it turned out to be. The uplighting, lounge furniture, draping and chivari chairs all blended into a colorful, elegant space with the accent floral pieces as a nice finishing touch.

Congratulations to this amazingly sweet and fun couple!

If you love classy, modern and are a bit out-of-the-box, check out this gorgeous August wedding in the heart of Chicago at the revered Peninsula Hotel. There is nothing more elegant than massive amounts of large white callas in glass vases or callas curving in a clean pattern all throughout a room. And we must never underestimate the power of candlelight. There is never ever too much candlelight.

The bride and groom: classy, ridiculously good-looking people. I simply adored every ruffle of the bride's dress. How does a ruffly dress end up looking so clean and sophisticated?

A recent trend that I am head over heels in love with is the "floating" arrangement. This design concept is realized in a lot of different ways, most especially with suspended orchid blooms in water, which is all the craze these days, but another way to really play with the illusion of "floating" has been with vases and stands.

Here's a better picture below illustrating that. I took it with a point-and-shoot, so bear with me on the poor quality of my humble image.

An all-craspedia bouquet! I wish there were more photos of this. Great fun putting this gem together.

Just thought the callas mirroring the bowing (or vice versa) was just visually too fun and perfect. Nicely done Jimi Allen Photography!
