Valerie Jackson and Sarah

Valerie owns her own cute studio in old town Sierra Madre. She also teaches hair styling and does makeup as well. She had her makeup artist friend Sarah help out on the day since I had nine ladies getting done. Everyone was so pleased with their makeup and hair- especially me! I was particularly surprised at how well my makeup had turned out. I’ve gotten my makeup done a number of times but Sarah really made me feel natural and beautiful. They were also so amiable and made us feel really comfortable before the wedding. They also travel on location.

Valerie is a sweetheart and does great hair! Her salon is adorable and she is willing to travel if needed. She has done hair for various commercials and entertainment industry events (e.g. plays at the Hollywood Bowl). She also worked at Burke Williams Spa in Pasadena and now has her own salon in Sierra Madre. She quoted me a competitive price for hair & makeup.

Update: Valerie and Sarah were the best! My wedding was on 5-5 and all my gals (and me) looked great. I wanted a natural look for my gals...just enhanced, and they delivered. I chose to have my hair down and slightly curled (I usually wear it straight) and keep my makeup natural. I loved it. Plus, all my bridesmaids liked their styles as well. My sister, who has curly hair and rarely wears makeup was so pleased she had a big smile plastered on her face all morning long. A+

I went to Valerie’s cute little studio for my trial and was really pleased that she listened to my desired look and carried out the desired effect perfectly. Valerie and her assistant came to my hotel on the day of the wedding on time and beautified, me, 4 BM, and my mother flawlessly. I still was debating which hairstyle I wanted on the day of the wedding, but she went with it and I was extremely satisfied with the result. She is super affordable and extremely nice, highly recommended!

I love Valerie and Sarah!! They did my wedding this past weekend and they were fantastic! Both gals were very relaxed and fun to be around while we were getting ready for the big day. They listened to what each gal wanted and totally delivered. One of my gals has very short and thick hair but Valerie was able to style it in a way that made it look like it was a sophisticated updo with pin curls! It was amazing. My sister, who rarely wears makeup, was so pleased with Sarah's job that all she could do is smile...and take pictures! She couldn't even speak. Sounds corny but it is true. All my gals (and me) looked like ourselves...only better! Fantastic.
