The Vandiver was a beautiful and fun place for our small intimate wedding. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. They made sure everything went smoothly. Many of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. The decor is antique, lovely but with a youthful fun vibe. The rooms were perfect and the food was delicious. The prices were reasonable and they included the venue, food and bar so there is much less for the couple to worry about. They also include meetings with the owner to make sure everything is perfect. They provide information on vendors for flowers and cakes. We used the ones suggested and were very pleased. Our wedding day was perfect thanks to John's help and the lovely Vandiver. We and many of our guests stayed the night and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast with our friends and family the next morning was delicious too. The Vandiver provides a unique and wonderful wedding experience. I'm so glad we chose them!!!

I love the Vandiver Inn! My wedding was all I ever imagined it could be due to the staff and facilities of the Vandiver Inn. The food was excellent and the talk of all my guests. Chasi, the wedding coordinator, is awesome at what she does. Everything that need to be done to make the day run smoothly, she got it accomplished! I felt like a princess because of her! I would highly recommend the Vandiver Inn to everyone looking for a venue with character, heart and charm. The staff is excellent and willing to please. My husband and I give the Vandiver Inn five out of five stars!

An awesome time was had by all! Today my daughter got married and everything at the Vandiver Inn was spectular. Chasi is a delight and made everything so easy and smooth from beginning to end. The Inn was beautifully appointed and decorated and the staf paid great attention to detail so that everything was just as we dreamed it would be. The food was delicious and our hats are tipped to Chef Susan. Her husband, John and the rest of the staff made all wonderful. Our guests raved about the Inn, food and said it was just awesome. We heartily give a thumbs up to this wonderful place and the wonderful staff who make everything just perfect.

The Vandiver is the best choice for a Wedding venue within a 100 mile radius of Baltimore. The Venue far outclasses any other within the comparable price range. The food is to die for. Jon and Susan will make sure the facilities will meet your requests... no matter how unique. The food is spectacular. The ROOM... oooh the room. The beds are HUGE and comfy. The food is also the best on the planet. You're really gonna like breakfast the day after. Wonderful selection of wine to go along with the food. The food. Food.

We live in the area and never took advantage of all the Vandiver has to offer until we started planning our wedding. The supper club or any event dinner is a great way to experience the inn and taste the food. Vandiver Inn food is awesome and unique, not your typical wedding fare.
The Vandiver staff is very professional, helpful, and caring. Chasi's caring spirit shines through from start to finish and allows the bride to relax knowing that the details are taken care of. The ceremony and reception space is beautiful and the attention to detail is wonderful. Great value for your dollar compared to other venues. The atmosphere was relaxing and breakfast the next day was a great time to family and friends to talk about the wedding and reception.

This venue is the absolute best! From the time I booked the venue for my wedding a year and a half ago right up until our wedding day, everyone and everything was phenomenal. I cannot tell you how many times our guests said how delicious the food was, how amazing the space was, how friendly the staff and owners were and how it was "the best wedding" they had ever been to. The space itself is wonderful and would be perfect just to stay for a romantic weekend or for a get away. All of the rooms were beautiful, the beds were extremely comfortable and you get the victorian feel and look with updated amenities and modern conveniences. We checked out several venues while planning our wedding and this was by far the prettiest and the best price. Most things are included in the price of booking the wedding and you have many different options so you can customize your big day to fit your style and budget. The only vendors we had to book outside of the venue was the DJ, Photographer and Officiant and the Vandiver Inn even provides you with a list of known professionals that they've worked with and that are familiar with the Inn to help ease that process as well. Even the cake was included in the price of the venue and it was the prettiest and most delicious cake I've had at a wedding to date. Chasi, the day of coordinator is AMAZING. She is one of the friendliest people I have ever met and is incredible at her job. She was with us every step of the way and made sure everything went perfectly and flowed the way it was supposed to. I swear sometimes I felt like she was a mind reader throughout the night. If you are looking to have a unique, romantic, fun and beautiful wedding, definitely choose the Vandiver Inn. John, Susan, Chasi and every other staff member that I met were wonderful. I loved every single thing about my wedding and it is definitely all thanks to them!

First off let me say we visited about 5 other venues before we visited Vandiver Inn. When I looked online it was cute so I thought I would just go and look.VENUE- Well when you get there it is adorable and very vintage look exactly what I wanted. As you tour the property it only gets better and better. The inside is breath taking and so well taken care of. The courtyard is perfect for guest to mingle and talk and when you go to the pavillion my breath was taken away because I knew thats exactly what I wanted. It was simple elegant. All by itself it had a charm I can't explain.With the wooden beams and the twinkle lights hanging above. This is 100% a hidden jem! I love that its not a commercialized wedding hall. It has small details of romance and comfort all in one. Very classy. It was perfect! I love the fact it is all in one!STAFF- Venue, food, cake, CHASI! I seriously had my own little wedding planner to help me every step of the way built in with my venue. EVERYONE IN THE WEDDING PARTY COULDN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE ENTIRE STAFF! John, Susan and Chasi are all soooo sweet and really make you feel so special to them like you are family and they will do everything in their power to make your day perfect no matter what! Even the wait staff is great. From the time we got there on Thursday for the rehersal to the time we left nothing but professional sweet service. The rooms were great we stayed the night of and it was really fun being able to have breakfast and talk about the fun memories of the night before.FOOD!YUM! Not your normal wedding food. Homemade and delicious! All of it not just some. Susan is an amazing cook. I don't have any complaints about one thing.

Absolutely outstanding, in every sense of the word. I cannot express how happy we are that we chose Vandiver Inn. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

My husband and I knew as soon as we walked into the Vandiver that we wanted our wedding there. It fit perfectly with our style, and they describe themselves as "comfortably elegant" which seems to fit perfectly. It's smaller than a lot of places, though we fit 120 people just fine. The pavilion is adorable and the house has a lot of space. The rooms were very comfortable and combined the traditional feel of a bed and breakfast with modern amenities.

Chasi and John were wonderful to work with, and even though we had a disagreement on set-up space the day of the event, they were both extremely flexible and patient with some stressful moments. Everything worked out perfectly and the day couldn't have been more perfect. All of the staff members were extremely professional and nice, too!

Also, the food. Oh, the glorious, delicious food. You will not be disappointed in dinner (or breakfast). People are still talking about the butternut squash ravioli! They also had an awesome "clean out the cellar" beer selection, perfect for us and our friends who are admittedly beer...

A one stop shop with a BIG bang for your buck! The venue itself is gorgeous and oozes romance and warmth any time of year. It housed our 14 member wedding party (+ dates), and immediate family. That was a huge advantage and convenience. Chasi, the Vandiver wedding coordinator, is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G -- welcoming, caring and easy to talk to, trustworthy, professional, and completely devoted to us and our day. Food is freaking amazing! Susan, also Vandiver owner with her husband John, is top notch! My hubs and I choose the “stations” menu: Asian Station (pot stickers are to die!), Tapas Station (empanaditas – so yum!), pasta station, Horseradish Encrusted Beef Tenderloin (a guest favorite by far!) and Smoked Turkey Breast at the carving station. Service is impeccable. You cannot go wrong with this venue!! Do it!

Everyone at the Vandiver was amazing. As soon as I showed up for the rehearsal it was like they took all the stress away. I could not have asked for a more perfect day. John and Chasi were amazing to work with and always there to answering and questions you have. I loved being able to wake up the next morning and beig able to have breakfast with our family and friends. If you are getting married in Harford county tge Vandiver Inn is the only way to go.

We decided to look at the Vandiver Inn as a possible wedding venue after high accolades from a friend who works in the business. He told us there was no better place in the greater Baltimore area to get married. After visiting the venue and meeting the staff we agreed. Chasi, John, and Susan allowed us to create a wedding that fit our style for a super, super reasonable price. They immediately put us at ease during a relatively short engagement. Every question or concern was answered thoughtfully and promptly. Our wedding went off without a hitch (thank you, Sam). They kept any glitches from us if there were any, however I doubt they were. While they clearly run an efficient business, I felt like they gave me the attention they would pay to a family member or close friend. My friends and family raved about the food, which is all prepared by the Inn. The venue was lovely- guests could dance in the pavilion or mingle outside under the trees. We stayed overnight for 2 evenings and I loved our room, it was the perfect place to get ready for our big day. It was beautifully decorated and the bed was really comfortable. We came back to our room after the reception to wedding cake, sparkling cider, and some left over food-- and all of our gifts arranged for us to look through. They didn't miss a finishing touch. The next morning we got to eat breakfast with loved ones before we reluctantly headed back to reality. I understand why our friend told us to look no further than the Vandiver.

We chose Vandiver Inn for our wedding on July 21, 2012 and everything was perfect! Vandiver was the first venue we explored in the Fall of 2011 and after visiting with them we didn't even look at other places, our decision was made. The mansion, guest houses, grounds and pavilion are stunning.

We worked with the event/wedding coordinator Chasi who was every bride's dream organizer! Chasi's easy-going and friendly personality made her an absolute pleasure to work with. We always felt open to asking questions during our meetings and after via phone and email - Chasi always responded in a timely manner. She might be the most organized person I've ever met! Chasi accounted for details that many wedding guides failed to even mention and anticipated all of our questions that we often didn't even realize we had! On our actual wedding day, the only thing the wedding party and guests had to think about was having a great time. Again Chasi and the Vandiver team executed the wedding day for us from start to finish. We were guided on what items to bring with us, times to arrive and where, time to get dressed, when to walk down the aisle, where to go for photos, when to cut the cake, etc. As soon as I (the bride) even walked into the bridal suite on the morning of the wedding, Chasi scooped up my wedding gown and unpacked everything for me. She carefully hung up my dress on a pretty hangar and arranged all my bridal accessories so they would be ready for our photographer to take some cute "getting ready" photos. Vandiver ensured that EVERY thing was done for us, before we could even dream of asking. All the while, Chasi and team were calm, collected, smiling and friendly, making sure the normal stress of a wedding event was not felt by anyone. Chasi even made sure all of us in the wedding party had tasty beverages and food to enjoy throughout the day so we didn't miss out on what our wedding guests were enjoying as well.

The pavilion was decorated beautifully with Vandiver's own twinkle lights and flower-balls (that they let us use for no additional cost), and the additional decorations we brought were set up by Chasi and team. The food was amazing, all of the guests gave compliments to the chef! The bar and beverage service was seamless, they kept the drinks flowing and kept the guests cool on a nice warm summer night.

Vandiver even helped us organize a wedding after-party to a local bar/restaurant. Many of our guests walked the few blocks there when our reception ended at 9pm to continue our celebration.

The next morning friends and family gathered in the breakfast area for a yummy assortment of baked goods, coffee, juices and of course hot entree of eggs, hash browns and French toast casserole. Needless to say everyone left Vandiver stuffed and happy.

Our wedding day was one of the very best days of our life and we have Vandiver Inn, John and Susan Muldoon and Chasi to thank for it!!

My husband and I wanted a reasonably sized wedding with a reasonable price tag. We are not very traditional but also are not very eccentric so were looking for something in between. We also had some creative ideas and wanted to be able to do some of our own planning (i.e. we didn't want it all planned for us based on our location/venue). We were married at the Concord Point Lighthouse and needed a close location where people could stay over but also could potentially have the reception if weather was an issue. Finally, we wanted accomodations for most if not all of our two families for 2 nights (before and after the wedding) which involved some teens, toddlers and our parents. The Vandiver not only accomodated all of our wants beautifully but did such an extraordinary job in making everything come together! There was just enough but not too much planning done with us. John, Susan and Chasi allowed us to make it what we wanted (we brought our own decorations, centerpieces, music...etc) and they helped with setting it up and incorporating it into the flow of the event. Our accomodations were perfect both nights, allowing our two families each to have their own HOUSE :) It was 100 degrees that day and they did everything they could to keep us as cool as possible! The heat did not stop us from having a fantastic time. The food, as well, was divine (many of the guests said it was the best they'd ever had at a wedding). When we had missing table numbers, John created custom laminated numbers with our names and a picture that matched our theme...overnight! Our guests loved their rooms and the ability to stay onsight. We were all glad to be able to walk a few blocks to the local restaurants to continue the party after the reception. We can't say enough to recommend Vandiver Inn and John, Susan and crew for your wedding!

I literally do not have one bad thing to say about the Vandiver. The place, the people, the service, the setting.. it's all just beyond anything we could have hoped for and expected. John and Susan - the husband/wife owner/chef team - were so personable, friendly, and accommodating every time we spoke with them. The real gem, though, is Chasi, the venue's day-of-coordinator extraordinaire - my husband and I always joke that the place could have been a shack and we would have booked it if it meant having Chasi there! She was our point of contact for over two years while we planned our wedding at the Vandiver, and she was such a star. We were a little bummed when we found out that she wasn't going to be able to be there for our wedding day due an illness, but John and his assistant Jamie ultimately gave us nothing to worry about. I'm confident that, if we didn't know she wasn't there, we wouldn't have known! Everyone made sure everything was perfect down to the very smallest detail, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding. We're *still* getting compliments on the food (prepared by Susan) - definitely not your typical wedding food! We know that we will back many times in the coming years, whether just to spend a night or take part in their fabulous Monday Night Supper Clubs. The Inn definitely holds a special place in our hearts.. thank you!

I cannot say enough about this venue and the wedding coordinator that comes with it! The moment you walk in the door, Chasi (the coordinator) makes you feel as if you've known her your entire life. She keeps you on track with planning and will do whatever it takes to make sure your day goes as planned.

As far as the venue, I've never seen anyone get as many compliments as we did about the site! The ceremony site is very beautiful, open, and complete with a gazebo. The house is beautiful and antique-victorian style that provides a unique background for the cocktail hour and photos. The pavilion in the back is absolutely gorgeous, with lights lining the ceilings and a courtyard adjacent to allow guests to spread out comfortably. The rooms are beautiful as well, and all have a different theme that will fit anyone's taste.

My daughter's wedding was at the Vandiver Inn on May 27, 2012. The entire experience, from the first time we met with them, until we checkd out the day after the wedding, was wonderful. The service was fabulous, the rooms were wonderful, the wedding ceremony and reception was perfect! The owners were on the premises and working the entire time, taking the time to personally speak to every table to be sure all of our guests had what they wanted. Our guests could not say enough about it. One of my neighbors came to our house today to tell my husband that our daughter's wedding was the best wedding he and his wife ever attended. The place is absolutely beautiful, the service is top notch, and the food is homemade. My rating for the Vandiver is 100% for sure!

Everything turned out perfect! The staff made my husband and my wedding everything we dreamed of! The Wedding Coordinator (Chasi) was wonderful. She pays very close attention to detail and makes sure your whole day goes as smooth as possible! Everyone raved about how wonderful the food was. I could not be more happy!!

I don't even know where to begin! My wedding was absolutely amazing and alot of the thanks goes to the Vandiver Inn and the awesome staff. My now husband and I were driving through havre de grace about 2 years ago and passed the inn...I knew from the moment I saw the inn that I wanted to get married there. My husband and I fell in love with the Vandiver inn. It has so much charm and character. We booked immediately because we knew that this is where we wanted to become one! We went to a few Monday night supper clubs and tried out a lot of the menu. It was very hard for us to choose our menu becuause everything was just that good...we went with the plated steak and cake. We were able to change the menu however we wanted. We rented the entire property for the weekend and we even had our rehearsal dinner there! It was such a relaxing and stress free weekend...I know most brides are running around trying to keep everything organized but I knew my wedding was in good hands!!! Those good hands were Chasi's! Chasi is the coordinator at the inn and she is absolutely awesome! She is the sweetest person you will ever meet! She kept everything organized, made sure everyone was where they had to be and she always made sure that the bride and groom had a drink in their hands! She was like my second mom...she made me smile and told me funny stories when I started to get emotional (the flower girl that postponed the wedding bc she had to go to the bathroom lol). If I were to rewind time and plan my wedding all over again...I would not change a thing! Susan and John (owners) are incredible and make you feel like family. My husband and I will stay at the Vandiver on every anniversary because it feels like a home away from home! I have had so many people ask me where I had my wedding becuase the pics looked so good...I even had someone on facebook inbox me asking about the Vandiver because after seeing my pics they knew that the Vandiver would be the perfect place for their wedding!

I honestly do not know how to put into words how fantastic and beautiful my wedding this past weekend was at the Vandiver Inn. Everything was beyond what I pictured and expected!

Not only are the grounds of the Vandiver beautiful, but the food was fantastic, and above all of that John and Susan are amazing! John was so attentive to everything the entire weekend to making sure our guests were comfortable to ensuring that we had everything we needed. The food that Susan made for our wedding was exceptional and people immediately commented on how delicious everything was!

But I could not post this review without raving (kissing the ground she walks on) about Chasi. I knew from the day we met that this was not only going to be a great working relationship, but a wonderful friendship. Chasi is AMAZING..she knew what I needed before I could even ask, she knew exactly what I meant when I could verbalize what I needed (due to "bride brain") and she was my calming force throughout the entire process. I honestly do not know how other brides go through planning wedding outside of the Vandiver, because if I had to do it all over again (which I wish I could) I would 100% go back there.

The Vandiver Inn is the most amazing place to hold a wedding and reception. Everything was perfect. Chasi was amazing and always paid such close attention to detail. The wedding planner movie should be named after her!!!

My husband and I were reminiscing about our wedding last year and we can't say enough about how perfect it was thanks to Vandiver Inn. Our friends and family still talk about how special it was and what a great time they had. The entire inn was booked by our guests coming in from out of town. They got a chance to check out Havre de Grace and just had a great, comfortable time at Vandiver. We had looked at a lot of wedding venues, but Vandiver stood out from all the rest because of their personable staff and family atmosphere. Chasi, John, Susan, and the rest of their staff were great throughout the entire two days.

We had our ceremony in the pavilion. After the ceremony we enjoyed cocktail hour in the front of the house while the staff transformed the pavilion into the reception area. We all met back in the pavilion for a great dinner, wedding traditions, and dancing. Having a day of coordinator, Chasi, was such a great stress reliever for us. She and the staff kept the day moving along and we were able to spend time with our guests without having to worry about anything. Also, they did a great job decorating both the front of the house and the reception area. Everything turned out better than we could have imagined.

Morning breakfasts, hors d' oeuvres, and the wedding dinner were absolutely delicious. We opted for the "Stations" menu for dinner service and our guests loved the food options as well as the mingling aspect. Some of our guests had dietary needs (vegetarian and gluten free) and the staff was professional to have separate pans and food labeled so our guests didn't have to guess.

The lodging accommodations were great. Prior to booking, we were able to see all of the rooms and each were unique. The rooms were clean and most have been renovated to include modern amenities like flat screen TVs while keeping a historic feel. Our guests loved their rooms.

Vandiver made sure our day was perfect and it went off without a hitch.

There aren't enough words to say how pleased we were with the Vandiver. The food was amazing, the staff is unbelievable... I could go on and on (and on, and on, and...). If I could get married at the Vandiver every weekend, I would. Lovely, quiet area, nice guest rooms, and beautiful property.

Best. Decision. EVER! This review may show up twice (I don't know what happened to my first one). They deserve all the positive praise and I loved having my wedding there so much that I don't mind writing it from scratch again! John, Susan, and Chasi are such wonderful people--they helped to make our wedding so perfect! They are all very professional but still make you feel like you are a part of their family.

It really is one-stop shopping at the Vandiver Inn. Everything is so beautifully decorated and cozy that there really isn't much else needed in terms of extra decorations. We loved that so much was included with having our wedding at the Vandiver--food, cake (from Desserts by Rita), tables and chairs, linens, silverware, dinnerware, wait staff...and Chasi! I was a relatively stress-free bride throughout the whole process because of Chasi--she definitely had my back! She provided so many wonderful (and often hilarious) tips that made our wedding day run smoothly. We had to miss part of our cocktail hour because of photos and Chasi made sure that we had a plate of appetizers waiting at our table to make sure we got to taste what our guests did. She even had a bottle of champagne and food waiting in our honeymoon suite for some late night noshing when we returned from our post-wedding reception celebrations. Which brings me to the food. THE FOOD! Very simply put, it was AMAZING! Definitely a highlight!

We had a major issue with our original rehearsal dinner venue and the Vandiver Inn helped us out last minute. The evening was intimate and cozy and the food was so very delicious. We had pulled pork barbecue with shrimp and grits to celebrate our southern roots. We had several North Carolina natives (i.e. people who take barbecue very seriously) at our rehearsal dinner and they all raved about the pulled pork. It was a great start to our wedding weekend. Our families, wedding party, and several of our wedding guests stayed at the Vandiver Inn. The staff there were really friendly and made you feel like you were staying at home. A truly lovely experience!

We received nothing but wonderful comments about our wedding and several people told us that it was the best wedding they ever attended. I'm not saying that to brag, I'm saying it as a testament to the amazing people at the Vandiver Inn--I'm 100% certain that John, Susan, and Chasi and their staff made it that way. One word - AMAZING! We got married at the Vandiver Inn on 03March2012 and people are still talking about how gorgeous the Inn is, the amazing food, and the spectacular service. Chasi is truly great at her job. Her energy and organizational skills made the day (and all the planning involved at the Inn leading up to it) one of the easiest in my life. As someone with severe organizational OCD, this means a lot! Susan's cooking was outstanding. John was personally cleaning tables and talking with guests, which shows how involved the staff is and how much they care about their guests. The rooms were full of character and it was perfect for our wedding. It was a smaller wedding with only about 60 guests, but the space was filled perfectly. No one felt like it was too small or too large to accommodate that amount of people. And the fact that they are so gay friendly just made us giddy every time we went to meet with Chasi.
The fact that this was almost a one-stop-shop made our lives easier, as we both work and have trainings/school regularly. What they do not have services for on-site, they give you a packet of recommended vendors that are familiar with the Vandiver and its staff, which when you're new to the area, or just under the stress of everyday life, is really appreciated. We LOVE it! We're already talking about a 5-year vow...

John and Susan own the Vandiver. They excel at providing an excellent service. Susan is the chef and the food is amazing. They work with you to meet any special requests and provide insight to ensure the quality of the food served. Chasi is the wedding planner. But she does so much more. She has great advice and listens to the feel you want your wedding to have. She helps orchestrate a wonderful time for you and your guests. She truly does all the worrying so that you can sit back and enjoy your day. From helping you get your dress on, to giving you a mint before you walk down the aisle, and giving you a plate of food for the hotel later that night. There is nothing she does not think of. She is a true joy to work with. From your first meeting to saying goodbye at the end of the night no detail is left unfinished. I would like to thank everyone at the Vandiver who made our wedding so special.

I can not say enough good things about the Vandiver and their staff. All of their accolades and glowing reviews are spot on. John and Chasi are true pro's and even though they do an incredible amount of weddings, they make you feel like you and your wedding are truly special and meaningful to them. Our guests raved about how wonderful everything from the rooms to the food was, and our parents and wedding party couldn't believe how smoothly the entire weekend ran. People usually say your wedding day is a blur as it goes by so fast with everything going on, but I am so happy that I get to say our wedding day was fantastic and completely stress free (and I usually stress about everything!). I will be forever grateful to John, Susan, Chasi, and everyone at the Vandiver for making our wedding simply perfect.

I can't stress enough how much her organizational skills made everything drama free. All my husband and I had to do was sit back and enjoy our wedding. The food was excellent, and everyone couldn't stop talking about how nice everything was. Plus, I really thought the pricing was reasonable. Highly recommend!

Having our daughter's wedding and reception at the Vandiver was like a dream come true. The setting was beautiful and romantic, from the historical inn, the Kent and Murphy houses, to the wedding pavilion. We also enjoyed taking some time before the big day to walk to the lighthouse and stroll along the "boardwalk" along the waterfront only blocks from the inn. There are also some interesting shops and museums nearby, so there are interesting and fun things for your out of town guests to enjoy during their stay. Most of our guests stayed in the houses or in the inn, and everyone loved their gorgeous, clean, and comfortable rooms. Staying at the wedding site was great because we were always in the center of the excitement of the wedding preparations. We heard the chairs being stacked in the gazebo the night before, saw the wedding cake arrive, and the florist doing her thing in setting up the flowers. Chasi , the event planner, was amazing! She was so calm and confident and there truly was no potential snag that she couldn't tackle. Chasi literally took all the stress from us the moment we arrived. She took such good care of us and told us not even to try to think on the wedding day, she would do that for us. Her services are included with the price of the venue. We used the vendors the inn had worked with in the past and recommended. The flowers were from "Amanda's", and were amazing. We had the ceremony outside with a rose petal walkway and red flower pom-pom balls hanging from the aisle chairs. It looked like a picture from a postcard. Beautiful! The music was great and the reception fun thanks to our DJ. The photographer listened to our wishes and was very accommodating. The food was DELICIOUS and prepared by the owner/chef, Susan. The cake was one of the most beautiful cakes I have ever seen and it was also the BEST! The cocktail hour was in the inn and it was spacious, cozy, and warm with a fire burning in the fireplace. The appetizers were GREAT! The pavilion was the reception site and was quite lovely. Everyone loved the food once again. The next morning we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast with our family and guests. The whole experience helped make this one of the happiest days of our lives that we will cherish always. If you're looking for a romantic, intimate, unique, and wonderful event the Vandiver is the place you should diffidently consider.

The Vandiver is so great; I don't even know where to start! I must start with Chassie, the event coordinator. She is absolutely amazing. It is her job to make sure the day goes smoothly, according to your wishes, and she does a terrific job! She leaves no detail overlooked (She even put lotion on my groom's hand before the ceremony so the ring would go on easily!) Chassie really knows what she's doing, and makes it her priority to make your day the best it can be. She welcomed me with cheese, crackers, champagne, and wine when I arrived to get my makeup done. She made sure everything ran smoothly and on time. She brought two meals and pieces of cake back to our room for us at the end of the night! And she does it all with grace, professionalism, and the friendliest attitude!!!
As for the Vandiver itself, we loved the romantic, rustic look of the house and pavilion. It is truly gorgeous and has so much character. The venue is so versatile; it has a gazebo for an outdoor wedding, and a pavilion (with a gorgeous brick floor) for a covered outdoor wedding. They can also roll down the sides of the pavilion (which are pretty) if it is raining or cold, and they have heaters to keep it warm! We had our wedding in the pavilion (with the sides rolled down because it was snowing in October!!!), the cocktail hour in the front of the house and on the covered front porch, and the reception back in the pavilion. It worked perfectly.
They cook the food right at the Vandiver, and it is amazing! I had always hear wonderful things about the food, and it lived up to its reputation at our wedding! We chose the steak and cake, and it was so much food, I couldn't even finish my whole meal!
John and Susan, the owners of the Vandiver, are so nice, and really made our day amazing. They were so accommodating of all our wants and needs. They even agreed to put out a beer table for the cocktail hour, even though it isn't something they normally do. I'm confident that my wedding was so perfect and stress free because of the amazing people at the Vandiver and all of their hard work and dedication. I couldn't imagine doing my wedding any other way.

This venue is the absolute best place to have a wedding. Not only do I think so as the bride, but my parents, attendents and guests all agree with me. John and Susan (the Owners) are professional and accomidating. Susan is also the chef and the catering is included in the price of the venue rental, making it a great value. The food is superb. Your guests can stay right on site so they can be close to the action and you get to see them in the morning. If a B&B isn't quite right for some of your guests needs, Aberdeen is about a 10 min drive away with many hotel options. Chasi, the wedding coordinator, is the most pleasent and responsive person to work with. She make sure you and your groom are taken care of to the utmost and anticipates every need, sometimes before you knew you even needed something. I had my ceremony and reception at this venue and it was nothing short of magical.

As soon as we met with John, one of the owners of the Vandiver, we immediately knew that was where we wanted to have our wedding. The Vandiver has so much charm and character - John and Susan have created a truly beautiful & special place, respecting the history of the inn while adding modern conveniences. The Vandiver is not a "wedding factory" where they try to get as many weddings in and out as possible - it is a place where you feel that you are truly valued. John, Susan & Chasi are genuinely invested in making sure your wedding is everything you want it to be.

In the months leading up to the wedding, I contacted Chasi regularly with different questions that would come up. She was unbelievably responsive, often getting back to me within a couple hours even if I emailed her at 10:00 PM on a weekend! During the "linens meeting" (one of the two designated planning meetings prior to the wedding) we discussed much more than just linens. We bounced different ideas off of Chasi, and she shared a lot of feedback and insights that helped with our planning. When we met for the final walkthrough, there was not a single detail that Chasi missed! As a stressed-out bride, that was extremely reassuring.

We took over just about the entire Vandiver for the weekend, reserving almost all the rooms in the Kent & Murphy houses the night before and night of the wedding. The staff were warm and welcoming, and our guests fell in love with the Vandiver right away, from the great breakfast to hanging out by the fire drinking coffee. The wedding itself was like a dream come true. The food was fantastic, the pavilion looked stunning, and everything went smoothly from the time I woke up until the last dance. Chasi has a sixth sense for anticipating our needs- when my glass was empty, there she was with a glass of wine; when we arrived at the inn after taking pictures, there she was to take off my veil and put the flower in my hair; when the reception ended, directions to the after-party had appeared as if by magic! Chasi was present but not intrusive throughout the night, making sure that things flowed along as we had planned. Everyone at the Vandiver truly brought our vision to life, and I have nothing but glowing things to say about our experience!

The Vandiver is a beautiful site, perfect for that vintage, intimate, and very romantic setting. The staff is incredible, extremely personable and will help with all of your needs without batting an eyelash. Not to mention the food is amazing! And who can forget Chasi, every vendor needs a Chasi, so sweet, upbeat, and always smiling, she made everyone feel like they were right at home:)

The Vandiver Inn and all of it's staff are amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. The weather was perfect so we were able to have our ceremony outside by the gazebo. Chasi took excellent care of us and made sure we always had food and a drink, even while taking pictures. The reception was amazing, everyone had fun. We enjoyed eating, dancing, and smoking cigars on the outdoor patios. Highly recommend!!

My Husband and I fell in love with the Vandiver the minute that we saw it. It fit our style and our budget. Not only is the staff professional, but so friendly. We loved every minute of our day and can't wait to go back just for a regular weekend! Thank you so much Chasi, John, and Susan! =)

We hosted my daughter's wedding and reception at the Vandiver Inn and everything about the event was outstanding. Host John provided superb facilities, staff, and service that took care of all our needs. The food was wonderful and praised by all the guests (including some very picky eaters!) I must single out Chassi the wedding planner for praise. She coordinated the whole event with unflappable poise, a smile, and an immediate solution for every potential snag. My daughter and her husband felt completely at ease in her capable hands. In addition to the event, the wedding party stayed overnight and all thoroughly enjoyed the charm, furnishings and comfort of the different rooms—as well as breakfast the next day. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves so much that we plan to return there for a weekend break, even without the excuse of a wedding.

Our wedding was PERFECT, thanks to the Vandiver Inn. The entire staff was amazing, the food was outstanding, the overall experience was worth twice what we actually paid. Chasi was with us every step of the way, making sure we were well taken care of. THe Vandiver is an excellent value, the accomodations are lovely, the staff is amazing - I highly reccomend the Vandiver for special occasions, or just dinner.

Our wedding at the Vandiver Inn in Havre de Grace, MD was our dream wedding! Everything about our special day was perfect here. The location, atmosphere, and food were amazing. The owners, John and Susan put on a spectacular affair. We rented the entire main house for some of our guests and they can't stop talking about how wonderful everything was. I can't say enough great things about our wedding coordinator there, Chasi! She worked to make everything seamless from the planning to the wedding itself. She is a gem!!!!! All of my bouquets and boutonnières died in my refrigerator, and Chasi worked with the extra flowers I had and remade ALL of them! Thank you Vandiver Inn and Chasi for making the best day of our lives extraordinary!

In one word: Wow!

I had been recommended to look at this venue from several sources, and was instantly hooked upon viewing the property and meeting the wedding coordinator, Chasi. I think one of the previous reviewers called her a "wedding day angel." This is NOT an exaggeration! Both of our families could not stop gushing over her attention to detail, her ability to be in five places at once, and how kind she is. There was horrible flooding and bad weather the morning of our event, and her calm attitude helped settle my nerves. She treated myself and my husband like royalty both before, during, and after the event (they had extra food, cake, wine, and a beer waiting for us in the room that night).

John & Susan also deserve tremendous props for being wonderful hosts. Susan's food is delicious; everyone was raving about one particular item or another. The grounds were gorgeous, and yet homey at the same time. Breakfast the next morning was heavenly. We even chose to stay an extra night, instead of going on a one night excursion elsewhere. It was cozy and extremely relaxing, and their staff contributed greatly to the hospitable atmosphere (again, both during the event and after during our extra night stay).

A huge thank you to the ENTIRE staff at Vandiver! Our day was truly wonderful, and there are so many details that I will never forget.

Could not have asked for anything more fabulous. We felt so special and so taken care of, it was amazing. The food was beyond delicious and the staff was very attentive and professional. We didn't have to think or worry about anything but having a blast on our big day :) This is the place to get married!

We can’t begin to thank Chasi enough. Alison and Graham’s Wedding Day was perfect. For everyone to be so close to Alison and Graham during the ceremony made it personal and more intimate. The flower arrangements that Steve Formwalt did as the backdrop gave the outdoor venue a beautiful appearance as did all the other flowers and surrounding gardens. We had an amazing party!!!!

From the first day we signed the contract to the Wedding Day, Chasi was there always with a smile and she knew better than I that everything would come together. I continue to get emails and phone calls from family and friends who totally enjoyed themselves and their stay at the Vandiver Inn. We all loved the quaintness of the Vandiver Inn, the delicious food and of course being there for the wedding. Chasi (the event coordinator) and Susan and John (the owners) are fabulous! They and the rest of the staff are an amazing team.

As I think back on Saturday, I did not think or worry even once about where we had to be or what time....Chasi did it all and we just enjoyed the day. Every single detail was taken care.

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. Even if the crisp memories fade after many many years the feeling that I had the whole day will stay strong. I have to thank The Vandiver Inn staff, especially Chasi, for that. Chasi was the most supportive coordinator I could have asked for. She was there every time I needed something, even when I didn't realize I needed something (like food and wine!), and yet non-intrusive and supportive. She even made an issue that could have been HUGE seem totally insignificant so that we could keep the beautiful day going.

I can't say enough about the Inn. It was just amazing to have my family all in one place before and after the wedding. Being able to walk right down to the restaurants and bars made everything so easy. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and clean.

John and Susan were great throughout the few days, supportive and professional. Breakfast was good and the food at the rehearsal and dinner was great. The other staff were more than wonderful. Everyone was very nice and always lending a helping hand.

All of our guests had a blast and we couldn't have asked for more.

The Vandiver Inn is the PERFECT place for any wedding! The staff is super friendly and Chasi, the wedding coordinator, is AMAZING!!! Everyone went above and beyond to make my day special and perfect! The ceremony and reception site is gorgeous and the food is delicious!

My husband and I booked our wedding ceremony and reception here in May, and I cannot tell you how totally thrilled we were with our experience!! We had a rehearsal dinner family style on Friday night, which was a HUGE success with our wedding party and out of towners! I got to stay at the B&B all day Saturday, taking a beautiful walk to the lighthouse in the morning, and my hair stylist was able to come to us! The Vandiver's wedding coordinator, Chasi, is out of this world! Nothing flusters or rattles her, and when my dress bustle was obstinate, she was there to fix! She saw to it that we, the bride and groom, were able to enjoy both food and beverages during the night, and she handled all the questions and requests with perfect timely answers! The food was outstanding, the cake was delicious, the bar hardly ever had a line, and the property was cozy and perfect! We booked the whole place Saturday night, and enjoyed seeing folks Sunday morning for breakfast before we parted ways! We think we got a much higher value for our big day than what we paid, and we thank Chasi, and owners, John and Susan, for everything they did to make our day perfect!

I really can't imagine a better venue for our wedding than the Vandiver. I want to say something right up front. I had dreamed of a wedding there by the gazebo, but it was threatening to rain on our wedding day so it wasn't meant to be. Even though it never did rain, having our wedding inside of the pavilion was the best thing that could have happened to us. It was cool, shaded, and just lovely. We are actually glad that happened as it's the best possible scenario in my opinion (now). ;)

On to the Vandiver's service. Between John and Chasi, every question we ever had was answered within a day of us asking it. And speaking of Chasi... I don't know how to tell you how awesome she was. She is a walking emergency kit, and event coordinator rolled into one. There is nothing she can't handle, and with a smile no less. At the end of the day, my girls were absolutely floored by her (they called her my fairy godmother!) and the level of service she provided. Everything from getting me into my dress, to getting dirt off of it. And that's in addition to making sure we got enough of the food from cocktail hour, keeping our glasses full through the entire day, and even delivering a tray of food and cake to us that evening. Amazing.

The Vandiver is an excellent value because everything is already included in the price of the venue... space, tables & chairs, food, bar... even the cake. They even provide you with names of vendors they have worked well with over the years. It's a perfect solution and we're so glad we were able to get married there (in the...

They did it again! Just like every other review before us, the Vandiver Inn went above and beyond any expectations we could have ever had for a ceremony and reception venue! From the delicious food (prime rib you could cut through like butter with a butter knife!!), to the gorgeous rooms for us and our guests, to the quick responsiveness for every question or concern we had....The staff at the Vandiver made everything perfect! The owners are charming, real, down to earth, and you can tell they absolutely love their Inn, and love what they do. John made us feel right at home from the moment we came in, offering us drinks and even turning on cartoons for our little ones! Susan was a miracle worker in that kitchen! Our guests are still raving about the food! Chasi.....there just aren't enough good words for that woman! She is kind, patient, funny and unbelievable at what she does! Chasi thought of everything, from bringing us drinks before to calm our nerves to even pinning those annoying hanger straps in my dress down so they didn't come out during the wedding ;) When she says she'll make sure you get to eat, you WILL get to eat! The rest of the staff was just as friendly, serving us hot breakfast in the morning and bringing in extra chairs, tables, or whatever else we needed with a simple call the morning of the wedding, and always with big smiles! One thing I'd also like to add, the Vandiver offers rooms with their wedding packages, TAKE THEM! Take more than you'll think you would need! Living in the area and not having that many out of town guests, we weren't sure about this but went with it anyway and we are glad we did! We had NO problem filling those rooms with friends and family who fell in love with the Inn and the idea of a romantic get a way in the beautiful town of havre de grace! We actually had a waiting list of people hoping for cancellations so they could get in! I have a feeling alot of our guests will be returning in the near future!

Every great Fairytale starts off with 'Once upon a time....” So here it goes!

Once upon a time, there was this amazing place called The Vandiver Inn where they make all your dreams come true. Finding a wedding venue wasn't easy for us. Stuart and I had two different visions of our wedding day. I grew up in NYC and Stu grew up in New Hampshire. After visiting countless of venues, we came across The Vandiver Inn.

As soon as we walked into the venue, we fell in love!!! It captured the elegance we were looking for. John, Susan and Chasi made the entire wedding planning process so easy for us. They guided us through the process step by step where we never had to stress.... They made us feel like we were part of their family from the beginning.

One stop shop! Besides the AMAZINGLY easy to work with staff....the one stop shop concept is BRILLIANT!! The Vandiver provided everything, tables, chairs, linens, silverware, wedding cake, etc. Along with a great preferred vendor list....we were all set!

My guest had an amazing time at our wedding. They all were blown away by the staffs hospitality. Stuart and I get a kick out of all the great complements we received about the venue and the food!!! EVERYONE couldn't get enough of the food!. I have to get Susan into my kitchen and show me her moves : ) She is so talented!

There is not a day that goes by where I don't think about our wedding. From beginning to end, everyone made us feel special. Our special thanks to Chasi! We have grown to love and adore her throughout the entire wedding planning. Her professionalism, sunny disposition, kind heart, infectious smile and her ability to read minds (no joke, she knew what you wanted or needed before you could open your mouth) --- this makes Chasi a 5 star wedding planner. I've planned and operated over 300 wedding in my career in NYC and Chasi has every beat! At the end of the day, Chasi has a gift that a lot of people don't have --- The ability to make dreams come true!

From start to finish our experience with the Vandiver has been exceptional. Chasi is truly a gift and made my experience as a bride easy from start to finish. She took care of all the details (including making sure I ate something the morning of the wedding!) and made the day appear effortless and seamless. John put us at ease and accomodated every request from early checkins to moving the ceremony indoors. Susan's food was amazing and everyone kept talking about how wonderful it was! The partnership with Desserts by Rita really topped the day off with a beautiful wedding cake that tasted amazing. We would not only have other events at the Vandiver, but we'd also stay there again! Truly beautiful rooms and again, wonderful service. I cannot say enough good things about the Vandiver and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Our wedding was absolutely gorgeous and AFFORDABLE. We could not have asked for anything better. All of our guests has a great time and Chasi especially made everything easy and beautiful. She is a wonderful lady to work with and made sure we ate dinner and our cake too! Absolutely fabulous!

Where do we begin? There are no words to explain how great the Vandiver Inn made our wedding. It was simply perfect from the moment we checked- in until we checked-out. John and Susan made us feel like family with great hospitality and fabulous food. Chasi made our dream wedding come true. Everything was so perfect, I wasn't sure what to expect but this was it. I couldn't have imagined things to be any different. Chasi handled everything from the favors to decorations to making sure everything was done just right. As the bride I had nothing to worry about and simply gave Chasi the "nod of approval." The food was phenomenal, especially the bacon wrapped scallops.

We are very, very fortunate to have found the Vandiver Inn for our wedding. I would recommend it to any couple who is looking for a classy, elegant but comfortable wedding.

There aren't enough words to describe how perfect our wedding at the Vandiver Inn was. From the moment that I first met with Chasi, the event coordinator, I was amazed at the sincerity and friendliness of every single staff member. Throughout the planning process they always had time to meet with me and my family, were extremely accommodating to every request we had in terms of decor and food, and seamlessly coordinated the entire day. Trust me when I tell you that they will make things work!

I can't say how many guests came up to me to tell me how charming the location was, how AMAZING the food was (omg the prime rib was one of the best I've ever had anywhere), how nice the staff was, and how much FUN they were having!

We reserved all of the guest rooms in all three houses and it worked out perfectly. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and charming. I slept like a log both nights that I stayed, and was well fed in the morning with eggs, pancakes, potatoes, scones, and a myriad of other breakfast delights.

Chasi, the coordinator, was just fantastic. She's one of those people who is able to make you feel special and wonderful and like every idea and desire that you have is both unique and inspired. At every moment of the day when I thought "what should I do?" or "where is that thing I need?" she seemed to appear next to me as if summoned by magic with exactly what I needed. Even the day before the wedding when I was stressing out over the possibility of rain, she appeared with a glass of wine and ordered me to sit on a sofa and not to get up until I had finished it. Simply amazing!

From start to finish there was literally not a moment of the entire wedding that could have possibly gone better. Thank you so much to John, Susan, and especially Chasi for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. You will see us again in the years to come!

My husband and I are not your typical bride and groom. We are baby boomers with four grown children between us. By any standard, our courtship was extended, 18 years. As retirement approached, we decided it was time to tie the knot. We had many discussions about what type of wedding we wanted and we both agreed it would be small and intimate, but agreeing on a venue was difficult. While shopping for my wedding dress, we met a former bride who had her ceremony and reception at the Vandiver Inn. The story of her wedding enthralled us. It also reminded us of our stay at the Vandiver many years before. We made an appointment with Vandiver’s wedding coordinator, Chasi, and the rest is history.

We had 45 guests, most of whom stayed overnight, filling all of the rooms among the three houses. We decided that due to the relatively small size of our group we would not use the pavilion and use only the main mansion for the ceremony and reception. This worked out very well for us. John, the owner, made sure all of our guests enjoyed themselves and Susan, his wife, used her culinary expertise to satisfy everyone’s appetites. Instead of a formal sit-down dinner we opted for heavy hors d’oeuvres utilizing “stations”. This kept all of our guests moving about the space and mingling.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, we had Chasi as our personal coordinator. To say she spoiled us rotten is an understatement. Her years of experience and appealing personality made our wedding experience amazing. She was our point of contact, and personally saw to each detail of the wedding planning. On the day of the wedding she took us under her wing from moment we arrived. First by offering us beverages and snacks, then by providing some quiet time for my spouse and I, coordinating our vendors, gathering our attendants (our kids)when needed for pre-ceremony photographs, and guiding us through the event. During the reception she watched over us still, making sure we had food and beverage as we mingled among our guests. Afterwards, she contacted a local restaurant/bar to let them know we were headed their way for an “after-party”. The following morning, we all gathered in the main mansion to enjoy breakfast together before returning to our distant homes.

Our wedding was perfect, and credit goes to John and Susan and especially Chasi. Having the wedding over is bittersweet. We miss our good friends at the Vandiver Inn.

My husband Kevin and I chose the Vandiver Inn for our special day and it was the best decision we could have made! The charming Vandiver, a very cozy and romantic 19th century victorian home was the perfect setting for our winter wedding. We chose to have not only the ceremony and reception there but our rehearsal dinner as well. We are so happy that we did! Many of our family and friends chose to stay at the Vandiver and the two additional houses the Vandiver has for accommodations, the Kent and Murphy, and they fell completely in love! Owner's John and Susan welcomed us and our guests as if we were family with a wonderful attention to detail, lovely rooms, and amazing breakfast. Many of our guests said that they felt they were on a weekend getaway as it was so relaxing. As we were there for the entire weekend we were able to experience three days of fabulous food, home made by owner, Susan. All of the ingredients she uses are local and very fresh. The chicken picatta was my personal favorite, and kevin couldn't get enough of her Italian wedding soup, I think he had at least 3 bowls of it!

The day of the wedding and the entire planning experience was made as stress-free as possible by the Vandiver's wedding coordinator, Chasi. She is extremely friendly, relaxed and organized and was able to orchestrate the entire day without a single member of my family or bridal party needing to worry about a thing. This allowed everyone to enjoy themselves, which is exactly what Kevin and I wanted, a celebration for all. Chasi is truly a gem and a coordinating goddess, as one of my bridesmaids called her.

I cannot recommend the Vandiver Inn enough for couples who want a romantic and stress-free weekend getaway wedding. It was the perfect setting for our wedding and we had the most perfect day. We will be back to celebrate our anniversary!!!

My husband Rory and I celebrated the most special day of our lives with John, Susan and the incredible staff at the beautiful Vandiver Inn in Havre de Grace, MD. The stunning venue had all of the charm and elegance of its old world mansion style and the staff carried these over into every detail of the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and accommodations. Our guests were all smitten with the romantic Inn-- and those who stayed over said what an incredible get-away it was to enjoy the wedding, the beautiful rooms and delicious breakfast the next morning. And speaking of the food! I believe my matron of honor, Jessica, put it best when she leaned over to me during dinner and said "If this is how good the steak is- I want to eat the whole cow!" Susan's dishes are all equally exquisite- we had an incredible harvest meal for the rehearsal dinner and then steak and tuna at the wedding and each was the best of its kind that I had ever had. In fact, after the wedding party finished eating- I stayed at that head table by myself until every bite was cleaned from my plate! the food was TOO good!

I would recommend the Vandiver to anyone looking for a romantic get-away for their wedding. The Inn is charming and elegant. The staff is responsible and profession. John and Susan are sensational- they make the day relaxing and fun for the bride and groom. They have a great sense of humor and a deep love for each other that makes the event feel like a family gathering and not a corporate event.

We plan to come back each year for our anniversary, and may even subject John & Susan to a piece of our year old cake!

The Vandiver Inn was the perfect location for our small wedding. Chasi, John, Susan and the rest of the staff made getting married a dream. They took care of all our needs and ensured a smooth day. I feel like I didn't have to lift a finger; Chasi rocks! My guests are still raving. They're still talking about the food...especially the venison.

Our daughter's wedding was held at the Vandiver Inn and it was fantastic! The Inn and the pavillion were beautiful. John and Chasi were extremely helpful in assisting with the planning. Chasi is extremely talented. She knows how to work with everyone of all ages while assuring everything goes like clockwork. Susan is an outstanding chef! Our guests are still talking about how great the food was. Theresa, our bartender, also did an excellent job. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff.
We will always hold a soft spot in our hearts for the staff at Vandiver and the joy they helped provide on our daughter's wedding day.

Our wedding was wonderful and that's all thanks to John, Susan and Chasi at The VanDiver Inn. The Van Diver is perfect for any bride and groom looking for a beautiful venue with amazing food where you and your guests will be treated like family. Chasi is a fabulous wedding coordinator who thinks of everything and is right there when you need her. Susan's food is delicious! Our guests are still talking about it! Vandiver Inn is a must-see for any bride looking for a unique, charming, and AFFORDABLE venue. Chasi, John, Susan and their entire staff are so wonderful to work with. They do everything they can to make your day special and unique, and make sure everything goes off without a hitch. My husband and I were very well taken care of before, during, and after our wedding - our "honeymoon suite" was chock full of goodies when the reception was through! All-in-all, our wedding turned out so beautiful thanks to everyone's hard work. My guests are still raving about the Inn, the delicious food, the beautiful backdrop, and the relaxed, elegant atmosphere. I highly recommend this venue!

I can't say enough thank you's to John, Chasi and the staff at Vandiver Inn. They bent over backwards to make sure that i had the wedding of my dreams. The food was absoluelty delicious, the wedding cake was out of this world and the service provided exceeded what i imagined! Everyone who attended commented on how delicious the food and cake was. They also commented on how romantic the place was and that they never experienced a more wonderful wedding! John and Chasi were very accomodating. They helped me every step of the way, I've began a wonderful relationship with them and have decided to "adopt" them as family!!!!

The Vandiver was fantastic. Not only did it meet all of the criteria of what we wanted in a wedding venue, but the entire weekend was run smoothly, based on our needs, and with a high quality of service. Chasi is THE BEST coordinator ever and the #1 reason to get married here. She might do it every weekend, but when you're there, you're her best friend and the only one that matters. I was relaxed, excited and not at all anxious the entire time because of her. Her role as a full weekend coordinator is such a benefit... we couldn't have done it without her!

Our wedding was perfect in every way thanks to the staff and beautiful venue at the Vandiver Inn. They did everything I needed before I asked for it to be done and accommodated last minute requests with amazing hospitality. It was beautiful and all of my friends and family loved it as well. I highly recommend it for all of its excellent qualities and its amazing value on top of it all. It was the perfect place to get married! I can't thank them enough for making my wedding perfect, even in less than ideal weather.

The Vandiver Inn and Chasi (their event manager) in particular were a pleasure to work with. Chasi has a phenomenal memory and easy kept track of our wedding details amongst all the other weddings performed there. Customer service was awesome and they bent over backwards for us. The food was amazing and the venue provides an intimate romantic setting. Highly Recommended!

John & Chasi made sure our day was wonderful! Even with a packed house of almost 150 guests we had a great day with no speed bumps along the way.

Chasi, John and Susan...YOU ARE WONDERFUL! The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD..The bridal suite and guest rooms were loved by all! FUTURE BRIDES...DON'T LET THIS PLACE SLIP BY..YOU HAVE TO STOP IN AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!!! I visited several other higher priced (over priced) venues and they treated me like a number and high pressured me to sign a contract...NOT the Vandiver...Even though I knew I was going to choose them, they let me make the first move..and their attitudes were simply perfect...not snotty like most venues...SEE FOR YOURSELF...Thanks again everyone at the Vandiver Inn. My guests are stilling telling me what a wonderful time they had!!!

This place is amazing. If you've read any other reviews, you've heard this already--but let me add my voice to the chorus. My wedding was beautiful, wonderful and ran as smooth as butter all thanks to the Vandiver Inn and to their superpowered wedding coordinator Chasi.

I cannot possibly say enough good things about Chasi. She was everywhere at once--helping me put on my dress, getting my bridal party lined up for the ceremony, making sure we had drinks and food whenever we needed it. She helped me pin up my dress when my bustle broke, she helped the officiant get to the right spot on time, she even somehow made sure the music worked when our first DJ quit and our backup DJ had car trouble and didn't make it until the reception. And it was all completely perfect.

Also, the venue itself is drop dead gorgeous. It's such a beautiful building, and the owners have done everything possible to make the grounds beautiful. Our photographs are even better for all the nifty little details throughout. This is a place my husband and I will visit again, and no doubt enjoy doing so.

I have to say, as well, that the value for cost here seemed way too good to be true. But really, it's true. This was one of the cheapest places we could find and yet they do so much... catering, serving, getting the flowers in places, setting up and tearing down, and providing beautiful rooms for you to crash in when you've had a bit too much party. This was everything we could have wanted in a wedding venue at a price we could actually afford, and it was as nice as could be.

I only have two qualms, and I'm including those at the end because they are so minimal compared to the overall experience. I would recommend the Vandiver to anyone, and I would book with them in a minute if I were doing it all over again. That being said, the first thing to note is that they are a small operation and as such have some limitations when it comes to meeting times. During the wedding season, they're just not available to meet on weekends. Chasi goes out of her way to accommodate schedules otherwise, but we live a couple of hours away in D.C. and with traffic and other constraints we had to take a few days off of work to make it to the pre-wedding meetings. Totally worth it for us, but just something to keep in mind.

My second concern, again quite minor, should be prefaced with a note that my husband and I are both professed foodies. We were impressed with the food options available for the wedding and had a fabulous time at our "tasting", which was one of their regularly-hosted winter dinners. The food they served at our wedding was tasty, but we weren't crazy about the presentation. It just didn't seem like things were plated all that well, sauces weren't included on the plates, and the overall look of the dinner wasn't spectacular. Now, again, things were quite tasty--especially the crabcakes!--but I wish a little more attention had been paid to presentation.

Now that the criticism part of this review is over, I just want to say again that I had an amazing time, got a thousand compliments, and couldn't imagine a nicer wedding even at twice the price. This place is phenomenal, and will always have a special place in our hearts.

Chasi, John and Susan at the Vandiver were excellent!!! We loved the idea of having the ceremony, reception, and lodging all in one place. Our families were able to share the whole weekend with us, which made the experience so much better. Having breakfast with everyone the morning after the wedding was great!
The food was delicious and we had a rather different menu, venison and quail. Our appetizers were out of this world. Susan also made some last minute changes without any problem to accommodate a few vegetarian guests.
Chasi’s (the coordinator) attention to detail was amazing. I left everything in her hands and could not have been happier. If you want to get married at a place that feels like home, makes sure you are taken care of, and provides amazing food and service, the Vandiver is the place!!!!

As soon as I walked through the doors of the Vandiver Inn, I just knew it was the placee for our wedding. John, the owner, spent 2 hours going over everything they have to offer. We had friends and family come into town from as far as Tennessee, Colorado, and Erie, PA. Each of our guests enjoyed the rooms, food, and the surrounding area. Probably the most amazing thing about the Vandiver Inn is Chasi, their in-house wedding coordinator. She led me through the planning process with ease from beginning to end. She was always available for questions, and gave quick responses. She made me (a control freak) always feel at ease and like everything was taken care of - and it was. She even came out with a cold towel for the groom in between pictures on a warm August wedding day (which easily won him over.) Co-owner, Susan (John's wife) prepares all of the food and does am amazing job. Lots of our out of towners tried the crab cakes and gave rave reviews. Thank you all for a job very well done. We will always have fond memories of each and every one of you!

After visiting several different venues, one of the reasons we chose to use Vandiver was because they had the best rain plan. We are so glad we made this decision because it ended up raining a lot on our August wedding day. Their pavillion with drop down sides was perfect in the rain. It still had the feel of being outside and the rain sounded soothing in the background with the beautiful treats and flowers around. We were able to keep the sides up most the time since the rain was not hard or blowing so it did have an outdoorsy feel. Despite the rain, everything turned out perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The staff followed everyone around with large umbrellas when we did have to go out of the pavillion during the wedding. They even met me, the bride, with umbrellas at the horse and carriage when I arrived at the ceremony with my dad. Chasi, their wedding coordinator, was the best help from the first time we met, all the way through the wedding. She made sure everything ran smoothly and everyone was where they needed to be. She even brought juice, champagne, and crackers to us during photos. The food at Vandiver was amazing and all our guests raved about it. We especially liked the crab cakes during cocktail hour. We highly recommend using Vandiver for your wedding!

Vandiver Inn is not your run of the mill wedding venue...they far exceeded any expectation we had about our wedding day. From the first meeting with Chasi, the on-site wedding coordinator, everything went smoothly. She walks you through EVERY detail and helps the bride stay on track with her planning. John and Susan are gracious owners and hosts, and Susan's food is wonderful. She cooked both our rehearsal dinner meal and the wedding meal and we loved both. She even let us give her a favorite recipe to use instead of one of the standard choices, for no extra charge.
But the absolute best part was the care and help they give on the day of the wedding. Chasi is there to help with every last detail and doesn't miss a beat. We are forever grateful to their entire staff on how they handled our day. Not to mention, they are offer the MOST value for the BEST price of all the sites we looked at, which was close to 25 sites (from Western Maryland, Annapolis, Columbia, Eastern Shore and Harford County). We did an exhausting search and are blessed to have chosen VanDiver Inn!

My husband and I can’t say enough about our experience at the Vandiver. We got married there in July and the experience was unforgettable. Weddings are always a source of stress and I’m so glad we chose to host ours at the Vandiver. The Event Coordinator, Chasi was on top of everything before we could even think to ask. She catered to our every need and there was no request too big or small. She was absolutely awesome! As a result, I was able to sit up in our room eating cheese and crackers and watching TV until it was time to get ready. I didn’t have to think about a thing. The service and food are impeccable and our guests are still talking about the great time that they had. The accommodations are very cozy and the building is absolutely charming with a modern twist its Victorian foundation. We wanted a family reunion style event and we truly felt like the staff made the Vandiver our home away from home. The thing I will defintely say is this. If you are looking for marble floors, cookie cutter interiors and extremely impersonal service then you should probably stay at a big chain hotel. If you are one that appreciates historic homes, unique charm and personal attention you will love the Vandiver. It was WAY better than being in a sterile hotel. I checked out over 15 venues and let me tell you, you can’t beat the price for what they provide. Thanks again Chasi, John and Susan. We will definitely be back.

Wish I could give them 10 stars!! I first came across the Vandiver on Weddingwire and I'm sooo glad we went for a visit, which turned into selecting it for our venue. Aside from everything you will read below, our favorite thing about the Inn is that its wasn't just a venue, but a destination. We did mini-getaways during the process of planning and plan on doing so in the future.
The entire staff is absolutely amazing!!! Susan's food is beyond amazing! She did a family recipe for an appetizer and it was perfect! Everyone ate their entire meals, I didn't see one plate that still had food on it. And Chasi, I don't even know how the day would have ran without her! She was there from the time we arrived until we said goodnight. She made sure everyone was dressed, stains were out of shirts, food and drink were in hand all night, and that the fun remained while getting in all the 'traditions.' Everyone we've talked to have said our wedding has set the bar for all weddings, and that is totally because of the Vandiver staff!!!!

AMAZING!! WONDERFUL!! DELICIOUS!! Our daughters wedding was held at the Vandiver Inn and it went beyond my expectations. Chasi, the coordinator, made sure that everything went according to plans, and I mean everything. She has a way of making you feel so comfortable and relaxed that you leave all the worries of the day with her.
My compliments to the chef, Susan. The food was delicious! Our guests couldn't say enough wonderful things about the Vandiver. John and Susan, the owners, were there the whole day to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied. I would highly recommend them for your next special occasion.

We had our wedding at the Inn over Memorial Day weekend and I can not say enough good things about the venue or staff! They made every thing from the ceremony to the reception flow smoothly, while ensuring every detail was perfect! And the food is absolutely amazing!!

5 out of 5 doesn't even begin to tell the story. John , Chasie and Susan are absolutely the best people I have ever done business with. The setting of the Vandiver mansion is absolutley awesome. The staff and owners are wonderful. You can see the passion they have for their jobs. The owners are right in the middle of every event and every wedding. Our April 24th wedding couldn't have been any better. We owe so much to John, Susan, Chasie and the entire Vandiver staff. Out entire family got to stay overnight in the Mansion. The entire process is intimate and very affordable. We are sad our wedding is over because we will miss dealing with everyone but luckily we can go back any weekend or Holiday or special dinner event that they have.

I live closer to DC than Baltimore, but I chose the Vandiver Inn in Havre de Grace anyway. I am so happy that I did. The value for your money is much better than anyplace I could find in DC and the service they provide is amazing!

We checked in the Thursday before the wedding to make sure we were relaxed for the rehearsal and the wedding. The rooms are fantastic and the Inn is within walking distance of the town of Havre de Grace - there are some great restaurants, stores, and other vendors - including a great day spa - in town. Everyone at the Inn was very friendly and helpful. Any question I had was answered promptly and any request I had was followed up on in a professional and discreet manner. We had 6 rooms Thursday night, 12 rooms Friday night and all 17 rooms the night of the wedding. Every room is different and I would love to have a chance to stay in each room. Breakfast is included and was quite tasty each day.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Inn - mainly to keep things easy - but it was an excellent choice. Unlike a restaurant, you can hang out at the Inn before and after dinner, and the food was better than any restaurant. John made sure the dinner ran smoothly and everyone had a good time. It was great to be able to run up to my room and have a moment alone with my bridesmaids - something I would not be able to do anywhere else.

Our wedding and reception were fantastic and the food was, as one guest described it, "the best wedding food I have ever had." (I agree, but I would also say it was some of the best food I have ever had anywhere.) I was treated like a queen by everyone at the Vandiver and it made me feel like the most special bride that day.

I cannot say enough good things about the Vandiver Inn and the people who work there. I suggest checking in a few days before and enjoying it and the town to the fullest. Thank you, Chasi, Susan, John and everyone else at the Vandiver Inn for making my wedding weekend the best time of my life.

We had both our reception and rehearsal dinner at Vandiver and were thrilled with both events. The food was fantastic, the room set up was perfect and Susan, John and Chasi go our of their way to make sure every detail is taken care of. You really get the sense that they put 100% effort into things and it shows in the quality of the food and the smoothness of the event. We rented out the mansion and most of the rooms in the other two houses for three days and loved the rooms.

Having been to two dinners at vandiver before our event and seen the space, we expected the food to be awesome and the space to look great and they definitely delivered. What I did not expect was how above and beyond Chasi was the day of the event. She came to my room while I was getting ready with my mom and sister and managed to give us just the right amount of advice about taking care of the last details with dress and makeup in a way that was really thoughtful and helpful and not at all intrusive. During the reception, she seemed to sense whenever we had any need--food, wine, water etc. (At one point I swear she somehow sensed I needed lip gloss and appeared with it in hand. I'm not sure how that's possible but I'm going to chalk it up to exceptional attention to detail.) I've been to lots of weddings and I know the quality of wedding planners varies widely. Chasi is the best of the best and really takes pride in making sure their events run perfectly.

I really think Vandiver is an exceptional value given the quality of the food, the service and the awesome setting. We got tons of complements from family and friends and would highly recommend.

My husband and I were married at the Vandiver on October 9. I cannot say how amazing our wedding was! Everybody is still talking about how "elegant" it was and how smoothly everything transitioned-from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. The food is wonderful-kudos to Susan! And John, her husband was a great help all evening long! I have to day though, that without all of the help I received from Chasi (in house coordinator) our wedding would not have been so great! She is superb and is there every step of the way. All of my guests had a wonderful time and loved every minute of the reception. Chasi was great, bringing me drinks when she could see that I was getting too hot and fanning me down too! She is amazing!

The food is great too! I loved the crabcakes! We stayed there the night of our wedding and found a nice suprise in our room-plates of food and a bottle of champagne. We couldn't have asked for a better way to end our unforgettable day/night! I love the Vandiver Inn and highly recommend them!

My fiance Bridget and I got married at the Vandiver on 9/19/09. We truly cannot find a bad thing to say about the Inn. John, Sue, and Chasi are absolutely wonderful. They helped us make sure that nothing was forgotten. Sue is also the Chef. To say that the food was hands down the best is an understatement. Everything was perfect. We also rented all of the rooms in the inn for the night of the wedding for family and friends. Again, wonderful! Every room is unique and beautiful, with it's historic charm. We would recommed this venue to anyone looking to have a comfortable, intimate reception.

Oh, by the way..we had our ceremony here as well. Absolutely lovely area, and the gazebo makes for some wonderful pictures.

We held our reception at the Vandiver Inn. Everyone at the Vandiver Inn was a complete joy to work with. Our wedding coordinator, Chasi, was always cheerful and helpful. She anticipated our every need and helped ensure that we had the wedding of our dreams. The owners, John and Susan Muldoon, worked tirelessly to ensure that all of our guests received the best service. The food was fantastic!! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was top-notch. We were all served a sit-down dinner within a matter of minutes. Everything flowed smoothly and it made for a beautiful and memorable evening. It was truly a dream come true.

The staff at the Vandiver was absolutely amazing! They made the day run so smoothly and stress free. The set up and the food were wonderful, and it was all included in the price, as well as the rooms for our family, which made everything that much simpler. The event planner made everything so easy and fun. We are definitely going back there just to stay at the B&B whenever we get the chance!

I adored my wedding at the Vandiver Inn. It was beyond perfect. My guests loved it, my parents loved it and best of all my husband and I loved it.
The Vandiver is wonderful because they do all the catering in house, so there is no worrying about an outside vendor or another contract,etc. The food was AMAZING. The Catering staff was beyond accommodating; from the Aunt who is a vegetarian to my sister who is allergic to nuts, nothing was to small of a detail.
The Cake they contract out to desserts by Rita for (but its all included in the total contract/cost, so once again no worrying about another contract). The cake magically appeared on time and was just what we wanted. She was able to match our colors EXACTLY. I was really impressed. Now the most important part, the taste; it was wonderful. People raved about the cake. Most wedding cakes wind up dry or just really bland. This cake was wonderful (and tasted exactly how it did at the cake tasting�which was very yummy). Definitely five stars.
The staff at the Vandiver is amazing and so friendly. I am from the DC area and normally expect good service; their service was �blow me away� amazing and friendly/personable at the same time. Loved them!!
The linens and tables are normally such a hassle to worry about for the poor bride on the day of the wedding. Everything was included at the Vandiver, they had a huge range of table linen colors to match almost any theme/color. The tables were there, without having to worry about if they would show up on time, if they would be set up alright, etc. It was a huge stress reliever to have everything like that in house.
The ambiance was amazing. I had several prominent guests who told me they were planning on coming back & wanted to renew their vows at the Vandiver. It was amazing. The entire facility was elegant but still comfortable at the same time, while being incredibly gorgeous. I was amazed at how well everything flowed.
We rented out all of the hotel rooms for our wedding and I haven�t heard one guest have a bad thing to say about their rooms. The Rooms were incredibly comfortable; each one of the rooms was unique and fun. All of the fixtures were modern, while still fitting in with the old world charm of the vandiver.
Now, I have saved the best things for last. Chasi, she is the in house wedding coordinator extraordinaire. I don�t know how she does everything she does. She�s amazing. She made the entire wedding planning process practically painless. She had worksheets to figure out everything and had the best advice for anything else. On my wedding day, she was the one running around making sure everything worked out, not the bride. She didn�t let me worry about anything, she made sure I had a wonderful time at my own wedding (which I have had girlfriends try and do it all themselves and were to stressed on their wedding day, definitely not how it should be.) Beyond just making my wedding a completely wonderful, beautiful, stress free day, she is a great person who is incredibly enjoyable to work with!
The vandiver was amazing and is as close to one stop shopping for your wedding as you will get, without going to one of those awful �wedding factories�.

Scott and I can't say enough good things about this place. We attribute so much success of our wedding and reception to John and Susan, Chasi, and the rest of the Vandiver staff. Our guests raved for the entire weekend of how amazing everything was, from the food to the rooms to just sitting on the porch in the morning for coffee and breakfast. We couldn't have asked for anything better. John and Susan were right there at all parts of the event, making sure everything was perfect, making sure that we and our guests were happy, and seeing that everything went smoothly. Chasi (the event coordinator) was absolutely amazing as well. She was there the whole time, from the initial meeting, to the walk-throughs and on the day of, making sure that we had everything taken care of, and that we were both doing alright. She made sure that I was well fed and watered before the ceremony, and that everything was set up just the way we envisioned. Nothing could have gone better, and we've made friends for life at the same time. Without the Vandiver, John, Susan, Chasi, and everyone else involved, we would not have had the wedding of our dreams. I can't give any higher praise than that. We love these guys, and we can't say enough how perfect the weekend was solely because of their hard work.

Simply amazing! There are not enough words to describe how wonderful our wedding was at the Vandiver Inn. Jon, Susan and Chasi did such an incredible job. From the very beginning I felt so at ease with everything, it was like dealing with old friends. I never worried about a thing. They were so flexible. Chasi is wonderful!!!! She definitely knows what she is doing and does it really well. You feel like your wedding is the only wedding she is working on. She was feeding me throughout the day of the wedding, while I was getting hair done and while I was getting ready. At the wedding she was making sure I had plenty of water and drinks. I never felt hungry, or thirsty. Many of my guests commented that it was the best wedding they had ever gone to.

The Vandiver was the perfect setting. It was relaxed, unique, and beautiful. I didn't feel like I needed alot of decorations because the pavilion itself is so gorgeous and the grounds are well kept. The staff was very professional and took care of all the guests. The food was perfect. We had more than enough and everyone was raving it. We had crab cakes and the beef tenderloin. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was unbelievable. I saw only empty plates and many guest went up for seconds. I stayed the night before and was treated like a queen. We stayed there the night of the wedding. When we came back from a night out in Havre de Grace there was a plate of food, cake and some wine waiting for us.

Overall, the Vandiver Inn was exceptional. I can not say enough good things. I would highly recommend the Vandiver Inn for your wedding.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Vandiver Inn, and every last detail was amazing. The inn is located in Havre De Grace, a charming, historic town, and a great getaway for our guests. From the start, we were in great hands. The food was delicious…I cannot stress this part enough, thanks Susan (owner)! Both my husband and I are vegetarians, so we chose the butternut squash ravioli…delicious! On the wedding day, we did not even worry about a thing, honestly. Chasi (wedding coordinator) was wonderful to work with and put us both completely at ease. She was available exactly when we needed her. Also, while taking pictures she was right there with drinks and food. During the reception she kept us right on track, and made sure we had a drink in hand when needed. After the wedding, Chasi made sure my husband and I had a large plate of food with drinks waiting in our room. John (owner) was around during the entire ceremony/reception, and made sure all of guests were happy and satisfied….and they were. I had so many family and friends comment on how great our wedding was. The location is beautiful, elegant, and perfectly intimate. The staff was above and beyond our expectations. The wedding party and our parents stayed the night at the B&B, which solidified the entire experience. We would not have changed one moment of our wedding and want to thank you all so much for making it better than we could have imagined.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Vandiver Inn and everything was 100% perfect. I literally would not change a thing, and I doubt many people can say that about their wedding. There are so many good things I don't know where to start.

First, their coordinator Chasi is the BEST. Every step of they way, from the day we booked to the morning after the wedding, she is always there helping you and making sure things go smoothly. She is so much fun and as excited about your wedding as you are. The day of the wedding, she was feeding me fruit as I was getting my hair and makeup done, bringing us hors d'oeuvres while we were getting our pictures done during cocktail hour so we wouldn't miss all the good food, and constantly filling our wine glasses during the reception...they didn't go empty once! John and Susan, the owners, are just as helpful and always respond quickly to any calls/emails and go out of their way to make sure you don't have any questions/problems.

Second, the food is AWESOME. Susan's cooking was wonderful. We had crabcakes and beef tenderloin and almost every single guest said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. She is a GREAT cook. We had gone to some of their public dinners before our wedding and no matter what we had, it was always delicious.

Third, it was so convenient having the ceremony, reception, and guestrooms all in one place. The inn/mansion itself is very beautiful. All of the guestrooms have a lot of character...so much prettier than a regular hotel room. We had our ceremony outside in garden area, but they do have a pavilion as a backup in case the weather doesn't cooperate. The reception in the pavilion is comfortable and casual, but still very elegant. We got a lot of great pictures in and around the mansion.

Our wedding was absolutely wonderful, thanks to Vandiver and the staff. I cannot say enough good things. Book early though, the dates fill up fast, but you will be so happy at how it all turns out.

My husband and I chose the Vandiver Inn mainly based on the reviews on this website, so we figured we should pay it forward. We absolutely loved the Vandiver Inn! From the incredibly nice, friendly, professional, and problem solving staff, to the delicious food, to the beautiful Inn and grounds, it was the perfect place for our wedding. And somehow it was actually in our price range, which really doesn't make much sense!

Some of our family was a little annoyed about driving an hour for the wedding, but after getting there we heard nothing but praise! Everyone LOVED the food, and couldn't get over how unique and beautiful it was. Also, Havre de Grace is just a great town, with a cute waterfront downtown area, and a beautiful lighthouse and pier that worked out so well for picture taking before the big event!

One tip if booking with the Vandiver is always to underestimate the amount of guests you think will attend, and the number of guests you think will book rooms in case people back out. They have a very strict policy with it, which is justifiable, but it's just good to be aware of how strict it is going in.

But overall we had an amazing time! There were so many little details that just made it sooooo wonderful! Like they change the sign out front to say Congrats [insert names here], and they have champagne and your dinner waiting for you in your room in case you didn't eat enough...John even made us a breakfast to go box since we told him that we were leaving at 4am to drive five hours back to the military base (military didn't think my hubby needed the day off after our wedding). And Chasi is amazing!! At first she came off a little strong for me, but I think she reads people well because she toned it down and was like a lifesaver! She bustled my dress, coordinated everything, reminded of us simple details. Example: at the end of the night, all of our wedding stuff and gifts and everything was spread in several hotel rooms, she was able to tell us exactly what corner of which rooms specific items were in!!! Anyways, point is, we have no regrets and still can't stop thinking about how wonderful our wedding at the Vandiver Inn was.

Our son and daughter-in-law had the most beautiful wedding at the Vandiver Inn! The owners of the inn see to every detail and the staff is absolutely wonderful. They took care of everything from the rehearsal dinner to breakfast the morning after the wedding. Our guests all raved about the food, and the cake--well, it was the not only gorgeous, but absolutely delicious! We occupied most of the 18 rooms of this lovely inn and everyone enjoyed their stay. The staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. An excellent choice for a dream wedding!

How could I have asked for more!!! John and Susan were wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. Our family and friend have told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Chasi did an amazing job of keeping everything running smooth and making me feel at ease. The food was AMAZING!!!! All I can say is I wish I could have my wedding over and over again because it was just like a dream, everything we had wished for. Thank you Vandiver Inn, we will be visiting with you soon.

In November of this year we held our daughter’s wedding at the Vandiver Inn in Havre de Grace. We are so glad that she chose this Inn. From the very first meeting we knew every detail would be handled. Chasi, your in-house planner, meets with the family to discuss what the Inn provides and of course the cost. What she doesn’t tell you, is how the whole staff goes above and beyond to make this special day even more memorable.
Chasi is there to provide all the details and make sure your event runs as smoothly as possible, but she also helps lace up the gown, makes sure the bride and groom eat. Helps with the little things like putting tape into a shoe that is a little loose or taking the little ring bearer to the bathroom. She is amazing! We were a year in planning and in that time we felt like she was one of our family.
John and Susan, the owners of the Inn, were also amazing. John was one of the waiters at the wedding and helped with everything. Susan, the chef, did an incredible job with the meal. Our daughter chose a combined plate of prime rib, Gouda stuffed chicken breast with apple glaze, roasted asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes. The food was so wonderful that every guest raved about it. It’s December and we are still getting compliments on the Inn and all involved. So many said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. We are so happy with the Vandiver. If you are in the process of choosing a place to hold an event, you really should check out the Vandiver Inn in Havre de Grace. You will not be disappointed. The food is superb, the staff so helpful, and the setting elegant. What more could you want for your memorable occasion.

The Vandiver made my wedding day perfect! The food and service were flawless. During the planning stages, Chassy was a dream and was willing to work with me and make my every request happen. All of my guests commented on the beauty of the location and how this was "the most fun they had a wedding." Staying at the Inn after the wedding was so fun and breakfast the next morning was delicious. I can't recommend the Vandiver enough!

The Vandiver Inn is simply amazing! It's a quaint little Inn in historic Havre de Grace, Maryland. They are a one-stop shop and they are experts at what they do. Because they manage so many aspects of the wedding day (venue, rentals, set-up, food, bar), everything runs very smoothly.

The place is run by husband and wife team John and Susan. They really make you feel like family. Their event coordinator, Chasi, was absolutely amazing and did not miss one detail. She guided us through the entire wedding day and made sure everything went smoothly. She would magically appear and tell us it was time to do the cake cutting or she would show up with a glass of champagne just as ours was running out. And she made sure we took 5 minutes to ourselves to breathe and be alone together before walking into the reception. She truly cared about us, our wedding party and all of our guests.

Their entire crew was very courteous and professional. They really went out of their way to serve us and make sure we were happy.

And the food at the Vandiver is absolutely amazing! Susan prepares all of the food herself and they have a large menu to choose from. We chose a combo plate with gouda-stuffed chicken (amazing!!) and the crab cake with mango-salsa. And we actually were given time to eat it!

We spent the night in one of their guest rooms, which was so quaint and relaxing! When we arrived that night, our marriage certificate was propped up on the bed, along with a plate of leftovers and two slices of cake. The next morning, we had breakfast at the main house before leaving.

The Vandiver gave us the wedding of our dreams and I just can't say enough good things about them!

Our wedding was everything we could have imagined and more thanks to the staff at The Vandiver Inn. The entire staff was wonderful to us and all of our guests. Susan did a truly amazing job on the appitizers and dinner food, we chose a buffet style and some of the guys went back up 2-3 times. Chassy went above and beyond with making sure we were completely taken care of in everyway possible. She made sure we were fed and watered (well maybe not water, haha) the whole day. Every time we see any of our guests from the wedding they rave about what a great time they had because of the laid back, beautiful atmosphere. I would recommend The Vandiver Inn to anyone looking for a place that does it all, ceremony, reception (including food, drink) and lodging. As a bride I couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding, I was never concerned or stressed about anything in regards to The Vandiver Inn and the prices are totally reasonable. Our wedding at the Vandiver Inn was beautiful. I live in Havre de Grace and I had been looking for a place to get married. I wanted a location where we could have the ceremony and reception. One day while driving in town, I noticed an event at the Vandiver and I pulled over and looked at the site from the street. I did a search online at found the Vandiver's website. Everything looked wonderful and I called and spoke to the owner's. We met with the coordinator discussed our plans. We found a day that worked for both of us and began planning. We had our tasting and thoroughly enjoyed it. John and Susan at the Vandiver were very easy to work with and made wedding and reception truly enjoyable. The outdoor ceremony (the weather was beautiful) and the reception in the pavilion was wonderful. The food and service was impeccable. I would recommend the Vandiver for any of your affairs. They frequently have jazz dinners and other events.

My new husband and I loved the Vandiver inn. The Vandiver inn is an old mansion from 1886 renovated into a bed and breakfast. A lot of the stuff inside is all original, including furniture. We are both fans of historic places and antiques so it was perfect for us. The place has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. A very unique place to hold a wedding ceremony and reception since the place is so beautiful you don't need a lot of your own decorations (especially at Christmas time). We did all of our photography inside the Inn and they came out beautifully. The Vandiver staff helped us with our wedding planning and getting everything together for the big day. They helped us think of things we wouldn't have thought of. The owners are a young, married couple and the wife does all the cooking for the events so you don't need a separate cater. The food was great too, I saw only empty plates. They also provide all the tables and chairs for the event as well. They were so friendly and professional on our wedding day, we really felt special! Everything there was perfect. It rained on our wedding day and they were outside in the rain getting soaked holding umbrellas over the wedding party's head! We stayed in one of the rooms for a few nights before and after our wedding and we loved that room. They even brought us some leftovers a few hours after the wedding and a complimentary bottle of champagne as a surprise!

My husband and I just had our wedding at the Vandiver Inn. When looking for a wedding venue, we wanted a place that would allow our family and friends the chance to be with us for more then just one day. Our families and entire bridal party stayed the weekend. From start to finished, it was a perfect weekend.

On the day of the wedding, the entire staff made sure that not only our guests, but the entire bridal party was taken care of. I cannot say enough about how helpful Chassi was the day of our event. She made sure that the event flowed smoothly without being rushed. The flow from ceremony to pictures, to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing was flawless. The staff did a wonderful job of blending in but made sure to be available if we had needs.

I feel it is important to also mention that the food served was so good. Not only was breakfast each day great, but the food served at the wedding reception was VERY tasty. Many of our guests had clean plates! After the wedding was over we were surprised to find a full covered meal in our room just in case we were still hungry.

I cannot say enough positive things about the Vandiver Inn and the staff. A wedding is an event that can become chaotic quickly. They did such a great job of making sure that never happened. If you are looking for something different, not a wedding factory, then this is the place.

The Vandiver Inn was an amazing and perfect location for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. Our wedding was in June and the weather was beautiful - the ceremony was outside by the gazebo and the reception (~75 ppl) was in the gazebo, with cocktails and hors d'euovres on the porch before dinner. All was amazing, especially the food & the staff. Many people told us that ours was the best wedding they had ever been to!

In addition to the terrific care we received before the wedding and throughout our entire wedding night, the food was superb! The biggest part of our experience was the wedding coordinator, Chasi. She bent over backwards making the event my dream wedding. She has a wonderful personality and can handle everything that comes her way. Even bridezillas. Any bride who is considering having your wedding here, I demand it! This vendor makes me want to do it all over again...

Vandiver Inn is a favorite venue of ours. It is easy to shoot with so many beautiful trees and places for great images and video. The wonderful staff always have everything running smoothly and their attention to detail makes our job so much easier. The food is awesome too.

The Vandiver Inn in quaint historic Havre de Grace at the mouth of the Susquehanna River is a fabulous venue for your wedding. The owner and all his staff are so friendly and make your stay very enjoyable. Weddings at this venue are so easy! Their on-site coordinator thinks of everything, and somehow, always seems to be in the right place at the right time! You will have nothing to worry about when you have your ceremony and reception at this lovely Victorian mansion!
