Villa del Sol d'Oro (Alverno Villa)

I didn't have my wedding here, but I was seriously considering it. However, I called the coordinator and even the school probably about 30 times. In those times, I spoke to the coordinator once. I gave it up when I realized that she didn't care and wasn't too interested in my business. I'm so glad I let it go because I feel like my venue was 100 times better. If you get in contact with her fine, but if not, take your business someplace else.

We had made many visits to other wedding site in Malibu to the Wine Country. This was the best facility in looks and style, and driving distance were simply the best for all my family and guest. We had picked the perfect place for our special day.

Beautiful, old Tuscan styled villa built in the 20s. All services are coordinated through Sandy at Santa Anita Gardens.

I've learned that many vendors know the Villa as Alverno. Alverno HS and the Villa sit on the same property.

The Villa is a beautiful venue that takes you back to old world Italy and makes you feel like L.A. is a million miles away. The terrace with the bistro lighting looks amazing at night and the fountain in the garden really gives you that extra wow. I can't wait to get married here next year.

Sandy is the coordinator here and she is very sweet and helpful. She sometimes was a little hard to get a hold of, but other than that she is great.

The Villa is a beautiful location and photographs very well. However keep in my that it has a very steep fee of $5,000 for just the shell of the Villa, meaning this includes NOTHING! You are required to bring in your own tables, chair, silverware, glasses, napkins, ICE, etc.etc. The grounds are not always kept lush and green. Also the venue is exclusive to Santa Anita Gardens Catering, Sandi who owns SAG Catering is also the venue representative. Though she can be sweet and the grandmotherly-type, she can demonstrate her distaste if you don't go through her recommended vendors for rentals. As I'm sure she gets her kickbacks through her "suggested" vendors. Be prepared to rent tables for her use in the kitchen as well. My opinionis, if you are your own company, shouldn't you be the one that provides what your needs are in order to deliver your service? Another con, music is to be OFF at 9:30 and all (with nothing to be left behind) to vacate premises by 10pm no later.

I fell in love at first sight with this location and didn't look at any other venue. I had no problems with Sandi and thought she was a delight to deal with!

Wonderful wedding location! I am a wedding photographer and it was a breeze shooting at this location... photo ops around every corner! Everything from the lawn to the library are just stunning. Several photos of Villa del Sol d'Oro are featured on my website.
