Villa Montalvo

Built in 1912 as Senator James Phelan's summer home, Villa Montalvo is located in the hills of Saratoga on 250 acres. The nationally registered historic landmark is a mediterranean style villa facing the Great Lawn with 100 year old trees and the Love Temple in the distance. Villa Montalvo has been the favorite wedding venue in the SF Bay area for over 50 years. It is a one of a kind venue for special events.

Wedding ceremonies may be held in the Oval Garden, Love Temple, inside the Villa or on the Great Lawn. Dinner receptions may be held inside the Villa in the winter months and on the outdoor Verandas the rest of the year (April-October). You may rent the outdoor areas for a morning ceremony only or rent the Villa and all outdoor areas for an evening ceremony & reception (or just reception). We can accommodate special requests such as horse processions for Indian weddings and the Villa can be rented for all day and multi-day receptions.

Villa Montalvo is home to Montalvo Arts Center, a 501.c3 non-profit arts institution. Our rental revenue supports our educational projects in Silicon Valley and a portion of your rental fee may be considered a charitable donation.

Please email or call today for a tour appointment. We are now taking reservations through summer of 2010. Our rental fees vary depending on the date & time of your event and other unique details. Villa Montalvo is also available for private & corporate events. We can host corporate outdoor events for up to 2,000 guests. Our outdoor Garden Theatre seats 1,100 and our indoor Carriage House Theatre seats 300 guests.
