Patrick was so easy to work with and created a unique look for our cake that fit us perfectly. It was so unique a local magazine wanted a picture for a local magazine!

A previous reviewer noted in error that Village Cake Shoppe has changed it's name. We have not. Village Cake Shoppe has moved to Sacramento from Elk Grove and is now located in the Town and Country Village Shopping Center where Patrick and staff continue to earn customer loyalty through our beautiful and delicious cakes and personal service. Patrick at Village Cakes was so involved and interested in our ideas from our first meeting. We came to him just a few weeks before the wedding. He embraced our ideas and was SO creative in putting it all together. We aren't the creative ones, so Patrick was eager to take our ideas and make them into something amazing. He even did some drawings at our consultation, which convinced us we had chosen the right baker and artist for our cake. The cake turned out so much classier than we expected. We put a lot of humor into it and kind of expected it to look a bit tacky, but it didn't! Patrick made it so beautiful, and the humor was subtle, but still noticeable. Also, the cake tasted incredible! Even better than at the tasting! We plan to choose Patrick at Village Cake Shoppe for our upcoming birthdays and anniversaries! He was simply amazing!

I can't get over how delicious our wedding cake was. Patrick really listened to our design ideas and accommodated the fact that I wanted whipped cream frosting. We got three flavors of wedding cake (fresh strawberry shortcake, chocolate, and lemon) and all of them were beyond delicious. So many people commented on how good the cake was. We also got a discount for getting a smaller tiered cake and sheet cake for the remaining servings. We are already planning to order another cake from him for our anniversary.

Village Cake Shoppe created a beautiful wedding cake for us. It looked gorgeous on the outside and was moist and delicious on the inside. He also helped us understand exactly how much cake we would need so that we didn't over buy. Patrick called us personally when rumor had it that our reception site would be closing. It is amazing that people care that much about your happiness and would go out of their way to make sure that you were ok.

Oh my the cake we got from Village Cake Shoppe (love the store name) was so beautiful. It tasted as great as it looked, and I have to say our cake that we had wasnt your average wedding cake. Perfect- loved it!

I tried cakes at eight different places and this was by far my favorite as I judge all cakes by buttercream frosting. I knew what I wanted as I had a picture from a magazine and I also wanted a "Football" groom's cake for my husband with his alma mater and mascot on it. I got exactly want I wanted. The cake was amazing! It was as good as during the tasting we had the chocolate and the lemon. People commented at the wedding that it was the best wedding cake they ever had tasted. We had a little left, but that did not last long. I think it was the best cake and the buttercream was wonderful. I would highly recommend them.

Patrick was great - our cake was simple but beautiful, and exactly what I wanted! We had several flavors, and a cake that should have fed an extra 20 people, and none was left! Our caterers were amazed at how fast it went. I am looking forward to our anniversary top layer (that they will bake for us), since I barely got to taste it!

Village Cake Shoppe created us a stunning and beautiful wedding cake that you would have never thought could have been produced. They were very into all of the little details that stood out and all of our wedding guests gave us lots of different compliments about. The frosting tasted like frosting I have never tasted before and the cake was very moist and very delicious. The service helped us through all of the steps and made it really easy to help choose our custom cake that we wanted. I have recommended there fine service to all my friends as this place has really left a great impression with us.

These guys are A-List for a reason. The cake was wonderful and tasted great. The Neapolitan cake is the perfect blend of all of our favorite flavors. So that was an easy choice. The design itself was a challenge. On our final consultation, I basically gave Patrick 3 images, a bag of craft shells, and our cake topper. What he came up with was a complete surprise and well worth the wait. And they give you a new top tier on your 1st anniversary, so no icky frozen frosting to deal with.

Our cake was beautiful AND delicious! All of our guests kept commenting on how much they loved the flavor of our chocolate cake - even days after the wedding! Patrick & his wife are great to work with, and you may even get an anthropology lesson in wedding traditions from Patrick- if you're lucky!

I ordered 100 cupcakes and a top cake and the top cake was not what I had ordered. It was lacking detail that we had agreed upon. In fact it lacked all detail. It tasted wonderful but was not what we had ordered. I have heard this complaint from other brides before.

My husband and I went in to do the cake tasting and they were really nice so we placed our order. Once it was ordered when ever we had questions we were kind of pushed to the side. The cake turned out good we just felt like we wen't valued.

Everything was great until the night before of our weeding. The cake vendor called the night before and stated that they did not know what our order was. It was pure stress since we thought everything was squared away. It also turned out that on the day of the cake showed up with no decorations on it at all. Luckily our wedding coordinator was great along with our florist, both of them decorated the cake on the spot and it looked even better then we had imagined.

The taste of the cake was great, I do give them that Also on our 1st anniversary they had a cake ready for us to pick up so we didn't have to freeze anything.

Their cake is so yummy and moist! Our designer Patrick is this really off-the-wall guy but that's what made us want to work with him. He really tries to get the customer involved with the design of the cake to personalize it more and make it more meaningful and sentimental. My husband and I want to get and anniversary cake made from them because the cake was so yummy.

Village Cake Shoppe makes beautiful cakes. If you have the honor of talking with the gentleman who does most of the creative work (I apologize I forgot his name) you'll see that this place is not about ripping you off like other cake vendors in the Sacramento region. At Village Cake Shoppe they give you a free anniversary cake one year from your wedding (you're supposed to be able to call up and come pick it up). Apparently my anniversary hit during remodeling work and it was extremely difficult to get ahold of the bakery. It was also very difficult to confirm that the cake would be ready for me to pick up, hence slightly lower scores in responsiveness, professionalism, and flexibility. I will tell you one very important plus with Village Cake Shoppe - they were the one vendor that delivered as promise. The cake was set up just as described sharply at 3:30 (I never saw them come in nor did they call me as other vendors with "last minute changes") and for that on your wedding day is priceless! My cake was absolutely beautiful!!!

Eric was great! We loved our beautiful cake and it is exactly what I designed with him. Also, this is the best tasting cake I have ever had. I have gone back since my wedding and gotten cakes for other events there as well. I would recommend them to anyone.

Wow... we were thrilled with our cake! Village Cake Shoppe was a recommendation from our wedding coordinator, and I loved working with them. They were friendly, professional, and easy to work with. The cake tasting is a fun and delicious experience, too! A recurring theme in our wedding was a custom-made monogram - we had it on our invitations, programs, cocktail napkins, and it was even hand-stitched onto the train of my gown, so Village incorporated it onto the cake for us as well. It was gorgeous - classic, very elegant, beautiful and simple - everyone commented on the cake, and I still love looking at pictures of it!

One thing that Village does that I love, is that they supply you with a fresh "top layer" of your cake for your first anniversary, rather than having to freeze the top layer after the wedding and save it, eating hard, dry freezer-burnt cake. This service is included in the original cost of the cake. Fabulous!

This was a ton of fun picking out a cake! Village Cake Shop has a great website that you can look at first, and get the ideas of the cake you would like. Then when you go to the shop they have replicas out for you to see in person, and then of course you get to taste! They worked with the florist to have fresh flowers put on the cake, and it was just so beautiful and delicious! The best!

This cake shop was great. The price is very affordable, and they delivery on time. There little shop is has a ton of cake displays and picture books to look at. The employees are friendly and not pushy. My cake turned out just the way I wanted it. They have a ton of flavors and fillings and allow you to do different layers. For your one year anniversary they give you a small cake with your choice of flavor and filling at no extra cost to celebrate your one year anniversary.
