I love Violet's Cakes, I think she is the best cupcake in Los Angeles. We ordered 90 cupcakes in five different flavors and heard stories about how our guests liked them enough that a few took some home for breakfast the next morning!We didn't ask for anything custom or out of the ordinary, but having browsed the work that Violet's has done before, the sky is the limit. Denise, the owner, and her staff our very accommodating, the tasting process is simple. They will help you create anything you can imagine, or just provide you with what they do everyday in an awesome way. I love that the cupcakes are a bit smaller than what you might find elsewhere and they look like someone made them. They're messy and make you feel like a kid when you are eating them. The flavor range is big enough that there is something for everyone, even those who claim not to like sweets. In short, Violet's is very easy to work with and their product is fantastic.

This vendor came highly recommended by an artist friend who said they were tastier and a better value than Sprinkles or Mrs. Beasley's cupcakes. We ordered a cupcake sampling, but we were slightly disappointed that some of requested flavors were not available and other flavors were not recommended. They tasted great, with a lot of frosting, maybe a bit much, but we ordered 1 dozen each of 5 flavors: Raspberry Lemonade, Tropical Wedding Cake, Almond Joy, Mocha, and Red Velvet/Cream Cheese. They were able to deliver to Downtown Los Angeles on a Saturday, but they did charge a lot for this service. They delivered 2 hours too early when we weren't there and left a big box of the cupcakes just setting out while people were hanging art and setting up for the show. They had tried to call but the cell phone reception was awful. Two girls came back at 4pm and said they were waiting for another girl to come with more cupcakes. I went to get ready and then I guess they set up the cupcakes, and I was told they hovered around looking for a tip, which was rude since they left the cupcakes alone for a few hours and came back to set them up too early. Despite all that, the cupcakes were a hit! When we had finally we made it over to the table, there were only two left! With the exception of the cupcakes delivery fiasco, it was nice to have all the setup taken care of and I would give them another try since the cuypcakes were so yummy.

They have the best cakes and cupcakes. Other places have thick and crsuty frosting. Their frosting is made from scratch and tastes divine.
We’d gone to 3 other bakeries before we found a cupcake that actually tasted good. I was fuzzy about what exactly I wanted for the reception, but I knew I wanted a tiny wedding cake plus cupcakes, and I didn’t want a cupcake tower. Denise set up a beautiful cake table, with a small 2-tier cake in the center surrounded by cupcakes on vintage cake stands at various heights. The cake/cupcake display was a huge hit with guests and made for some stunning photos. Guests raved about the yummy cakes, and the entire package from Violet’s was hundreds of dollars less than any other quote that I got.
