Reviews for Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center

I would have to agree with all of the other reviews made about the Resort and Conference Center. Cheryl helped so much from the beginning to the end of my wedding. The only problems I had was the food came out a little late but that was my fault my husband was running late due to a issue with the tux compnay so I pushed everything to the right but we ended up catching up with time so I was straving and the food was still being cooked. The manager that was on site helped as much as possible to make sure me and my husband got our food as soon possible. Also I didn't have a room to get dress in but that was okay because I had a great GRAND entrance. The price was so reasonable every other place I went to was charging so much for the actual room and deck. The deck at the hotel was so pretty and the view was perfect in my pictures. Everything was set up and Cheryl had another room set up in case of inclement weather. I highly recommend Virginia Beach resort Hotel and Conference center to anyone.

While planning the event with Cheryl, I thought she was great. However, I was VERY saddened when I walked into the reception site, Trade Winds, b/c the room did NOT look as it was supposed to. I was trying to save money and NOT hire a wedding coordinator. I was told "it's clockwork for them b/c they have weddings every weekend" so I chose not to have a wedding coordinator. I was reassured the staff would take care of things such as laying table runners and candy dishes on tables. While the florist was setting up, the hotel staff was running behind and tried to move a table filled with vases. They shattered 40 flower vases. 40!!!!!! The florist had just purchases all the vases and did not have enough to replace or even have time to replace before the reception started. I was never compensated and never received an apology. My mother had to tell the staff to lay down the table runners 5 minutes before guests walked in. The table layout was different than the diagram had shown and my poor grandparents were sat right infront of the speakers. Overall, I spent all this time planning and nothing came out accordingly. If I had any advise, it would be HIRE the wedding coordinator and have Cheryl suggest the same to the guests since you never know what the staff will do. Other than that, the room was great and the outdoor porch was enjoyed by the guests.

After meeting with Cheryl Wolfe the first time I was so impressed with her! We got married on the deck and had our reception in the Sunset Ballroom and were also able to continue to use the deck so our guests could be inside and outside. The view overlooking the dunes and the bay were beautiful and made for some amazing pictures. The food was incredible and the service exceptional! Sherrie Banks was the catering manager the day of our wedding and she was on top of everything before I could even begin to think about it! Even when rain threatened, they had a back up plan immediately and simply moved the ceremony under the canopy so we could be outside as we wished. Cheryl also worked with my budget and helped create a day that none of our guests were ever know was done on a small budget. It was perfect.

I was very impressed with the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center, and with Cheryl Wolfe. She was very accomodating to every detail that I wanted. I was planning the wedding from 3 hours away, and she was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns that I had. The day of the wedding everything went very smoothly. They did forget to set up the sand ceremony table, and the gift table. But they were very quick to set up whatever I wanted when I asked about it. The service and professionalism was also very good.

I absolutely LOVED working with Cheryl Wolfe. She always responded SO quickly and was willing to answer any question I had (and there were A LOT of them!). The venue is BEAUTIFUL! We used the entire Tradewinds Restaurant (restaurant plus Sunset Ballroom) for our reception, and it was absolutely stunning. A beautiful backdrop to a beautiful location. The food is to die for, and nobody leaves hungry. The staff was so helpful and everything went perfectly. I couldn't have asked for more from them! And they were SO accommodating for our guests staying in the hotel (about 30 rooms), and basically bent over backwards to cater to our every need. Incredible service, location, and food. Can't beat it!

There's not much I can add to the comments about Cheryl's service at VBCC.She was warm, friendly, and genuine. She was prompt and professional. She put me at ease for my big day.Beautiful hotel and great place for a beach wedding, without the hassles of obtaining a permit. They also offer back-up rooms in case of rain.No problems whatsoever!

The food at this venue is exceptional. Lindsey is also so great to work with. She knows a lot about the area and other vendors. The location is also great. The hotel rooms need to be renovated a bit, but for cost you cannot get better....especially for food. The chef is fantastic.

Cheryl was amazing. My husband has a very crazy schedule and several times she was able to meet with us as well as the wedding planner and very easy to get a hold of. The laid back beachy feel of this resort was perfect for my wedding, which was a weekend get-away for almost all of our guests. Food was great. They even ordered specific champagne to be served, that we requested :) The access to the beach was also one of the deal breakers from the oceanfront hotels. Off the back deck was the perfect setting and allowed privacy and accessiblity. Perfect!!

The food was great, the choices were awesome and the price was great for a guest list of 150 people. The only complaint I would have would be the soup was not exactly what we ordered. We asked for Italian Wedding Soup and we did get that it was just not the recipe we use for our family & we did offer to give them the family recipe. Other than that it was great!
