We received a recommendation from our wedding planner about Janel's services. After hearing how Janel comes up with ideas and how she came up with designs/mocks, we thought her services were a perfect fit to what my husband and I wanted. We had a asian/japanese/cherry blossom theme and everything came out beautifully.

After speaking with her about various topics such as colors, the types of flowers, the overall design and budget, Janel came up with a few concepts. She showed us hand-drawn images of my bouqet, the groom's boutonniere, the look of the church alter, and the look of the reception area. She envisioned exactly what we had in mind. She even included the cherry blossom tree lighting design that Blue Steel provided for us. It was glorious.

Working with Janel was great. She is a fantastic designer and artist. I highly recommend her services.

Janel is fantastic!!!! If you need a person that is more like family and extra professional, please call on Vivid Expressions! Her and her team pulled off a dynamic wedding for me and for that I am so very thankful! She is absolutely the best because she cares about your day, as if it were her own! Janel is very creative and does beautiful work. I feel that I did not use as much of her creative artistry and talent as I should have. But that's what makes her great. She adjusts to the needs of the bride. I basically wanted someone to set up the day of and make sure everything runs smoothly. Most of our guests were from out of town and it was perfect that i did not have anything to worry about before and during the wedding.

This company is a great vendor to work with. Janel keen is as amazing artist. All I did was tell her what type of flowers I wanted and she made it work. Plus it was within my budget!!!

Janel Keen from Vivid Expressions did a wonderful job with our wedding. She made it seamless and beautiful, personalizing the decorations for our outdoor wedding with our song. I would recommend Janel for any event because she is artistic, imaginative, and wonderfully accommodating. She really made our day!

What type of decor (if any) do you offer?

In addition to custom fresh floral designs including (but not limited to) Bouquets, centerpieces, etc. We can provide ceremony decor, canopies, aisle decor, runners, reception decor, linens, furniture, etc. We create custom illustrations of designs prior to creation.

Do you provide non-floral additions to floral arrangements?

We offer unqiue and artistic elements to help create a stunning wedding design including candelabra, chandeliers, lanterns, unique candleholders and vases as well as other custom non-floral designs, backdrops, draping, effects, and much more.

Do you offer full-services, such as wedding day setup, for an additional fee?

Yes, we offer event services such as delivery, installation, set-up, break-down and removal.

If you have not worked at the ceremony or reception sites previously, would you be willing to visit the sites before the event?

Yes, we conduct site visits - working with the venue to create illustrations of venue/designs prior to creation. This unique approach opens up an effective line of communication - resulting in an amazing wedding production.

Do you offer flower preservation services?

We offer a unique keepsake such as an illustration or artwork depicting an element of your wedding design but we do not currently offer flower preservation service.

Do you offer any other specializations that have not been covered?

We are the 1st event design company in the area to offer Clients custom illustrations of your wedding design prior to creation - designing your wedding to match your own unique personality and style (modern, traditional, glamorous, natural, romantic, eclectic, etc.)

How do clients set up a consultation?

We delighted to offer a free consultations. Contact us to schedule a consultation at our Norfolk Design & Consultation Site (or on a limited basis at our Virginia Beach Production Workshop).

We feature a Planner/Designer (Certified Floral Designer), Client/Vendor Relations Coordinator, a Professional Rigger and Stager, and other dedicated members of our team to ensure an exceptional experience for each of our Bridal Clients.

What style of wedding do you specialize in planning?

We take an "artisan" approach to wedding design. Each wedding is custom designed around our Clients - creating illustrations, story boards, or other artistic renderings of custom wedding decor and depicting your entire wedding design concept prior to creation. We specialize in high-end, unique, elegant weddings that may reflect each of the 8 Design Industry Style (Modern, Tradtional, Glamorous, Natural, Bohemian, Romantic, Urban, or Eclectic).

What sizes of weddings have you coordinated in the past?

We have been delighted to have had the opportunity to create floral designs, decorations, and provide coordinating services for weddings ranging from under 75 to more than 300.

Additional Advice

Outdoor Wedding Tip - "Bug Off"

Spring and summer offer the unique option of lush outdoor weddings. Lavish gardens in bloom and sun swept beaches are the perfect breathtaking surroundings for any outdoor wedding however, there is always the chance of an uninvited guest or two or two hundred - of course I'm referring to insects. Even the most graceful Bride doesn't appear to be so when she is swotting mosquito's. Most Brides enjoying smelling like Roses or lavender... not bug spray. As a professional Coordinator I always carry Bounce Dryer sheets in my Emergency Kit. Brush a sheet over the outside of your Gown (or Tuxedo), tuck one in a backpocket or in your undergarment and it will keep away pests without the use of messy lotions or the unmistakable stench of bug spray.
