Waterford at Fair Oaks

This venue will blow your mind! It's truly all inclusive! The food was amazing and we got a lot of it! The banquet captain took care of our every need. This venue is everything amd so much morw. Great value!

While the Waterford is beautiful on the inside and the food was good, I have several issues with them: On the day of our tasting we first met with a new office staff member who quickly went through some things with us and then rushed us off to our tasting with the chef. I still had several questions that I didn't get a chance to ask because of the hurried manner of our visit and the staff member left during our tasting with the chef so I wasn't able to get my questions answered. I ended up having to email my questions to their office. On our last meeting prior to our wedding, I was told that I could set up my centerpieces, favors, etc. at 4:00 pm the day prior to the wedding. (They said I couldn't get in any earlier even though my rehearsal was at 6:00 pm.) Traffic was awful that day so we didn't end up making it to the Waterford to set up. I called them to ask what the earliest time I could get in the next day (day of wedding) to setup was. I was told to call at 9:00 am to see if anyone would be there and if not that someone should be there by 9:30 am. I called at 9:00 am that morning and no one answered. I had my hair and makeup appointment at 10:00 am and we arrived at the Waterford at 9:30 am and someone was finally there. We got all of our stuff unloaded from the car and headed to our ballroom only to be shocked to find that our room wasn't even set up!!! The staff was putting together our dance floor and none of the tables were ready so we couldn't setup my centerpieces or anything! I ended up having to leave my bridesmaids with instructions for setup (which they did a phenomenal job with!!) because the staff was still not done setting up before I had to go to my hair and makeup appointment. Even if I had been able to make it to the Waterford the day before, as I was told I could, to set up my centerpieces I still wouldn't have been able to do it then because my room wasn't set up. The other issue I had was on the day of the wedding when I got to our cocktail reception after taking pictures (all of our guests were in our ballroom at that point) I found out that they had the wrong hors d'oeuvres display! We confirmed our entire menu at our final meeting and they had it correct at that meeting so I have no idea what happened between that meeting and our wedding day. The rest of the menu (thank goodness) was correct. I would say I have to agree with the last review that when I first booked at the Waterford the office staff was very nice and professional and then the closer to the wedding date we got the more unprofessional they became. I do have to say though that the waitstaff on my wedding day was outstanding.

They are not at all flexible not matter what they say. The value for the money is truly not worth it. Please do not be fooled by the package pricing. The ballrooms are beautiful. And i can say that the waitstaff on my wedding day was out standing. Other then that the office staff is rude and unprofessional and has no sense of customer service. They made my wedding week very stressful. All in all my wedding day was great due to my husband staying on top of the office staff and of course my wedding planner.

Great place to have a our reception. We had a great time & everyone had a great time.

We had our ceremony & reception at the Waterford at Fair Oaks on June 11, 2011. I cannot be more pleased and happy with how everything turned out. My guests are still talking about how elegant the place was and how great the food was. We only had beer and wine and that was enough. Our guests were having so much and so did we. The staff on "THE" day was very friendly and placed everything in the right spot, which I haven't even though about. They did a great job, if I have to do it again, I will choose the Waterford again and the price was the best I found around my area. If you don't want to be in debt for the rest of your life for one day, this is the place you should book asap.

We had our reception at the Waterford Fair oaks and our guests are STILL talking about what a fabulous time they had and about how wonderful the food was. It was truly amazing working with Kelsey and the rest of the Waterford Staff. Everyone is so very friendly and helpful! I was able to get in the day before the reception to ifnish up the centerpieces and asked if we could get a cup of coffee. They made a fresh pot just for us - completely above and beyond what I would have ever expected! They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time at the reception. They were professional, courteous and extremely helpful. I had TONS of questions and Kelsey put me at ease every time I called. I can't say enough good things about the Waterford - working with them (and all of my vendors) makes me want to get married all over again!

The waterford fairoak was nice and clean. The staff was professional and provided assistance. The food was ok.

I loved having our reception at the Waterford. Everyone who works there is so nice and they were all SO helpful every step of the way. Especially Kelsey. The food was amazing and I got so much positive feedback on how yummy the food was and how generous the portions were. (It was true I couldn't finish mine!) They were willing to tweak the menu and accommodate my vegetarian needs. The one complaint I would have,is that being a multi-ballroom facility, there will most likely be another reception going on at the same time as yours. (Esp. if you picked a popular date like I did.) And in the middle of my dad's speech we could hear "Shorty got low, low low low low loww lowww lowww..." in the next room! Kind of comical, but not really what you want to hear when your dad's giving his speech! But oh well, everything else was perfect!!! I would def. recommend this place to anyone!

LOVED THE WATERFORD! They made our day so special and everything went really well. People raved about the food at the wedding. They helped make our day memorable and fun!

My husband and I were very pleased with our decision to hold our reception at Waterford @ Fair Oaks. Great location, ideal setting (decor, etc) and the food was great, too! We held a fairly small reception (~100 guests) and it was very intimate... just the way we hoped. If you want to hold a classy reception, this place is definitely worth the consideration. Kelsey, the Catering Manager, is very professional and responsive, too. Overall, I had a great experience working with the team @ Waterford, Fair Oaks.

I used the Waterford for my reception. The first thing I have to say is that the food was AWESOME! All of my guests loved the food and went back for seconds and even thirds (we had a buffet). I was originally concerned when my contact person there left, but Kelsey took over and did not miss a beat. The staff was very friendly, and even though there were two other weddings going on, I still felt like my wedding was the only one there.

Great service, the staff were professional and friendly. We only have a problem with the steak, its very raw. Most of our guests approached us about it and did not eat the steak. :( Other than that, Charlena and the rest of the staff did a superb job.

By far the easiest vendor and decision to make. The staff was very helpful and were really great about working our timeline. The Banquet Manager helped correct our lack of punctuality with the timeline and saw to it that we did everything we wanted. Charlena was super nice, professional, and knowledgeable. Beautiful location, ample parking, cost-effective, and wonderful food. I would suggest the Waterford in Fair Oaks to everybody.

The Waterford staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. The waiters catered to the bride and groom and were excellent in assisting and helping guests.

The food was good, the filet mignon was extremely tender. The staff was friendly and professional. Would recommend the Waterford at Fair Oaks. I do think the wedding costs in the DC Metro Area are too high, but the Waterford was cheaper then many place and they provided very good service.

Our wedding ceremony and reception were located at The Waterford at Fair Oaks. While it is a great reception hall, it is a difficult place to get married at. There is only one small room upstairs to get ready, and in our case, there were two weddings that night. Thus, we had to prepare in their office section while the male catering manager walked in and out. The office staff in general were cordial but not overly warm, and not very helpful in general. They seemed almost perturbed by questions and really didn’t seem to care for their jobs from the get go. The wait staff and set up crew were very helpful and sweet, though. The food there is delicious and it’s a great price for the Northern VA/DC area ($65-75 per plate plus tax and service, coming to about $75-85 per person depending on the meal). The space on the inside is beautiful, a large fountain adorns the lobby and there are large chandeliers, nice neutral wallpaper, and warm carpeting that is replaced twice a year. The rooms are beautiful and can accommodate very large parties. Overall I’m glad I did my wedding there, but if you want 5 star treatment, you may need to go elsewhere.

The Waterford of Fair Oaks absolutley hands down was the easiest vendor to work with. If I had the ability to rate them 100 stars, I would. From our initial communication, down to their organization on the day of my wedding on Oct 5th, my reception went above and beyond my expectations. The food was outstanding, the venue was beautiful, and the staff is professional and extremly helpful. I cannot express how overjoyed I was to walk into a breathtaking ballroom for my reception. They made my dream wedding a reality.A big thanks to Charlena and Erin who were extremly helpful, and to the chef, who made delicious food.

Everything turned out to be amazing. I knew the wedding ceremony and reception were going to be beautiful, but it was even MORE than I imagined. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. I did not have to worry about a thing.

I had my ceremony and reception there and it was so beautiful. I never had a problem at all. From the start anytime I needed anything all I had to do was call them and they would take care of it. The food was wonderful, and all my guests commented on how good it was. On the day of the wedding I was so happy because all I had to do was let them know what I wanted done and they did it. I would reccommend having your wedding done their, including the ceremony. The price is really good for what you get and the service they offer.

I would recommend Waterford to anyone who was like me and wanted everything in one package. I would also recommend it to couples who aren't on a tight budget.While our reception was very lovely, it was a bit over priced, even for the buffet.We also had to follow a very tight schedule of our start and end time. Which is reasonable considering they are a reception hall. Our wedding was at 11:30 in the morning. Our cocktail house began at 12:30 and ended at 5. Even though we were taking up a half hour less of their room time, they refused to budge for their per person price. Our package was a buffet. We could pick two entrees, two greens, and one starch. To add on another starch was two dollars a person extra! The food was excellent though. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the chicken was juicy. The open bar with the package was very worth it though. I do believe some of my guests drank as much alcohol as the per person price was!My father had one complaint. He arrived to the cocktail hour a little late, as they were taking down the bar and getting ready for the reception. He had tried to order a drink and was told he couldn't. When he told the tender he was the Father of the Bride, the bartended didn't seem to care. Only when my father asked to see a supervisor did the supervisor tell the bartender to give my dad whatever he wanted.While my DJ was announcing my husband and I for the first time, one of the employees was talking in his ear telling him to speed it up! It resulted in my DJ calling us Sgt. & Brad Sanders, instead of Sgt. and Mrs. Brad Sanders. A minor slip up, but still was caught on film.Also, the man in charge of calling up tables to go to the buffet forgot about our head table! Mine and my husbands meal was plated for us, but he called our table one before he called the bridal party table! I quickly saw this and asked him if my table could go next. He was very very apologetic and it looked like he just had a brain slip.Other than that the wait staff was very attentive, espcially to my husband and I. The food was great and the drinks very well made.Like I said, I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a reception at a reception hall and who isn't on a tight budget.

Staff was so welcoming and helped me with a lot of decisions and helped out tremendously throughout the whole day. They helped with the set-up, and accommdated all our needs. Everything was planned really well, everything was kept clean and staff was there throughout the event. You will be very happy and your wedding day will always be cherished.

I really enjoyed working with the Waterford. I had several challenges that were taken care of with no problem. My guest list continued to grow and 60 days before my wedding I was looking at 200 - 250 instead of the original 180 max I had contracted for. I was so happy that they worked with me to upgrade me to a larger room so that my guests were better accomodated. My cousin made the cake for the wedding and since I was not having the ceremony at the Waterford (instead I had it in Manassas), the cake needed to be dropped off well in advance (3:00pm for a 5:30 reception). The staff at Waterford was very flexible and worked with me in order for that to happen with no problem. I only had a minor flop and this was partly my fault for not being more descriptive. The way I wanted my table centerpieces arranged was a little messed up. I think it was just a miscommunication and it really didnt affect my experience. It was a little annoying, but they worked to fix any little detail that I needed taken care of. The only other little miff I had with them was it wasnt until the last month that I knew who would be working my event. My suggestion would be to make sure you know who your consultant is when you go into the contract. All in all, my experience was rather good and I enjoyed my event. The food was awesome and the drinks were exceptional. I also enjoyed the level of service we recieved on our special day. I would definitely reccommend to anyone looking for a beautiful facility at a great price!

They forgot to put out our wedding favors, booked a pretty noisy event right next to our room, and the room was actually not even ready to be set up for the ceremony so our florist was delayed. Overall, I was not a very happy bride. Definitely would not reccommend this venue for weddings.

The Waterford did a great job! We had a little trouble with our tasting. The Events manager mixed up the times and was not too nice to us we she claimed we were late. We requested not to work with her any longer. After that the General Manager & assistant worked with us and they were great. We had a buffet dinner, but they served the bride & groom (which was great, or we would have never eaten)!.

Waterford Receptions is a great place for a Wedding reception. They provide exquisite food and a sophisticated atomsphere. I really enjoyed having my reception at Waterford at Fair Oaks. The staff really cater to your every need and you really need not do anything but enjoy your day.

They need new carpets and some minor improvements and the food was bit undercooked.

Beautiful venue and great food. There was some confusion and last minute changes to the room that we were to use, but otherwise things went very smoothly, looked great, and we had a great time. If you choose to also have your ceremony there and want to be up on a riser, ask for it to be covered or bring something to cover it with you. They are black and silver and just kind of stand out in an otherwise beautiful atmosphere.

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Waterford at Fair Oaks.Our ceremony was in the morning and reception in the afternoon.We got there prior to Waterford opening but as soon as the Chef saw us, he opened the door and led us to the Bridal Suite. The Manager came up and asked if we needed any drinks or food. They brought us some drinks while I got my makeup and hair done.Waterford's Service the entire day was outstanding. They asked us several times what we wanted and provided it with no problems. They made suggestions for our reception once I told them my ideas. They executed everything exactly as I had asked. The food was wonderful as well.During the planning process, they were quick to respond to any e-mails and/or phone calls.All the setups for the ceremony, cocktail hours and reception were better than I had imagined. It was the best value that I found from all the places we had looked at.We had an excellent experiece at Waterford and could not be more pleased with their service, staff, food and execution.

We were extremely pleased with our reception and would recommend the Waterford to anyone planning a wedding. The venue was exceptional and the staff was very kind and organized. Waterford helped make my wedding reception one that people still rave about. They accomodated to everything we needed or asked for. I was referred to this place by a coworker - and it is the best place by far for what you get for your money. The staff was great, the food was phenomenal... the atmosphere was wonderful.I had to give them high points for all aspects, even though we encountered a terrible thing there. We had some of our cards stolen from the gift table / card box - it ended up about $2500 worth... but I can't complain because once we started dealing with the Waterford, their insurance company kicked in and replaced the value of the items stolen. I like how now you can have a FFX County Cop there for $50/hr - I don't believe they had that available when we had our wedding - I would recommend it for peace of mind!The Waterford makes me want to have my wedding all over again, it was so spectacular. They really give you everything you want, plus more.

Everyone we worked with was well organized and they answered all my questions promptly. The head waiter catered to our every need from the minute we walked through the doors to the minute we left. Bringing us drinks and food making sure we had it all.

When looking for a reception site, both my husband and I were impressed by the Waterford’s track record on weddings along with their service and price.We worked with Kimberly and Chris who were in contact with us during the wedding planning.The day of the wedding there was a small confusion regarding our seating arrangements, however the staff at the Waterford were quick and help resolve the situation. Great place to have both your ceremony and reception (we only had our reception there). I wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for a very private venue since there were two other wedding receptions going on during ours. The location is big enough that you don’t necessary notice the other events, but your guests will intermingle with the other guest in the main area and when using the restrooms. Also, if you are planning to have an afternoon reception, beware that the Waterford will most likely have an evening reception right after yours is over so you may be forced to move out quickly so the staff can set up for the other event.

I LOVED the Waterford. We chose Waterford because we didn't want to do a hotel but our guest list was too big for Wolftrap, Meadowlark, etc. Waterford was not only the most affordable, but also a beautiful venue. We dealt with both Chris and Kim, and both were very nice and accommodating. We booked way back in December for our November wedding, and then didn't have contact with them until August for our tasting. We did another meeting a week before the wedding to finalize the numbers and confirm the floor plan. We did a sweetheart table and 18 10-tops in the Alexander Ballroom. The staff over there has everything down to a T and the night ran smoothly. The food is amazing -- during cocktails we had petite crab cakes (YUM), mini beef wellingtons and duck & apricot purses, along with an antipasto display. Then during the buffet dinner, we had Waterford salad, Italian roasted vegetables and steamed asparagus, garlic smashed potatoes, stuffed autumn chicken (YUM) and 3 Strip Peppercorn Steak (YUM). The bar was busy the whole night. The wait staff and captain were efficient and friendly. The room got a little warm with all of our guests and all of that dancing, but we never once heard any of the other parties going on in the venue. Overall, it was a great venue for a great price!

Good food, good staff, but need to be specific with staff on what you want because they might not arrange items as you specified originally. Otherwise, good reception venue.

Waterford at Fair Oaks is a great venue. We opted for a buffet dinner and the food and service was fabulous. Highly recommend!

The people in the planning office were not always the most pleasant, but the catering manager and the staff that worked the actual wedding and reception went out of their way to make sure everything went perfectly.

I got married and had my reception at the Waterford in Fairfax, Va. The ceremony was beautiful, the room was perfect, everything went off without a hitch. The food was great, all my guest loved it. The only complaint I have was the room that I had to use to get ready in, was basically an attic upstairs, that was small, kinda dirty and only had one plug and no bathroom. The other thing that we didn't like was that my ceremony wasn't the only one going on that day so things got kind of confusing. We had to get ready in the same room as the other bride and some of our stuff got mixed up. Even some of our gifts got mixed up. Other then that, the day went off without a hitch. I have been to the new Springfield Location and it's so much nicer.

We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was marvelous. The staff was very accommodating and had the food and set up that we needed. The food was hot and tasty and there was a lot of it. Very elegant dining experience. Beautiful facility.

Thank you for making our wedding day- go so smoothly, and elegantly. I was so pleased with every aspect and every minute of our wedding ceremony and reception. All of our guest raved about the food served, and said it was the most relaxed and calm wedding the have ever been too! Time and time again, every time we photograph an event at Waterford, the staff is fantastic and the reception runs seamlessly. Really a perfectly run place to have a reception (or ceremony for that matter!)
