Reviews for Wayfarers Chapel
We had our wedding at the Chapel August 31st 2008! It is absolutely beautiful and a hit with our guests as well. Although a little pricey, you don't have to do anything! Its ready to go and well organized- another reason why we choose the Chapel. No rentals, no finding ministers, don't have to worry about decorating, and they have meetings to help you plan your ceremony. We also liked it because we will always have a beautiful, sentimental, place to go.
We decided not to use any of the photographers they refer because we were not impressed with their work, etc. Also many photographers by now have shot at the Chapel so it wasn't a problem at all- as long as they know "the rules" and still help to accommodate your needs to get the pictures you want, etc. So we chose a photographer that we LOVED as well as already had experience shooting at the Chapel!
Overall, it was a great experience and a magical day at the Chapel! They do pump weddings out all day long- so expect to see a bride before or after your wedding leaving the Chapel grounds. No biggie, it all works out smoothly and worth it. Lastly, we were worried about fitting the full 100 people- but it did just fine! We had a few guests not make the ceremony, I actually wished we would have invited more! We were so worried about this since it is small- so we really stuck to 100, since we didn't want to squish our guests- but it easily accommodated everyone!
If your interested, I would definitely go take a look at the Chapel, even just for the experience- its a very beautiful place! (PIB)

We simply fell in love with this Chapel upon our first visit, simply breath taken.
From the view to the chapel itself.
Wayfarers is a beautiful chapel! I loved the location and ambiance. We worked with Marian as our ceremony coordinator and Reverend Jonathan Mitchell as our minister. Both were absolutely wonderful! Wayfarers is extremely well organized and, as mentioned in other reviews, there are strict policies for schedule, photographers, flowers and limos...but it is all worth it!
We used Dorothy Victor as our harpist during the ceremony. She was recommended by the Chapel and she was awesome. The music was perfect. We loved everything about our ceremony.
We also used Marc Gold of 24kt for the in-chapel videography (and also later at our reception). I highly recommend you use 24kt so you can get great photos from the front of the chapel.
Thank you so much to Marc, Marian, Dorothy and Rev. Mitchell =)
This ceremony site was beautiful and we knew we had to get married here. The view of the ocean and the glass chapel were absolutely breathtaking. Our guests raved about it and the staff was helpful and pleasant to work with. They are very strict and will rush you off the grounds, but other than that… a wonderful location.
Great location, great view of the ocean in the back. The people that worked there are very professional and everything ran smoothly. The only thing is you can only be on location for 2 hours, so have to hurry up and get as much pix as you can after the ceremony. However, if you really want beach pictures, you can go to other locations such as Terranea public beach.
A coworker had her ceremony at this chapel. It's a beautiful place. The locations is great and the ceremony was really nice. Beautiful!
This is a beautiful venue. It is a bit more expensive than most church's, but they limit you on floral, so that helps with the budget. Also, since it is a church, it is a charitable contribution and can therefore be a tax deduction.
Wayfarer's Chapel is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! All of my guests were amazed at how beautiful it was, and its beauty made our ceremony so much more touching than it already was... A lot of my female guests were so touched and cried during our ceremony...
I absoloutly fell in love with Wayfarers! You get the forest, the beach and the gorgeous church all in one. It took my breath away when I saw it online and even more so in person! The staff are the kindest and most helpful people!
I believe ther prices are listed online. When I booked last August '06 their rate was 2,300 for Fri, Sat and Sun weddings. Weekdays as usual are cheaper. So worth it!
Beautiful grounds with a well organized staff!
Getting married here is a breeze, you hardly have to think as someone is always telling you what to do/where to be. You don't need a wedding coordinator here. I loved it as did our guests....everyone was taking pictures of themselves before the ceremony...worth every penny!
When we first stepped foot on the Wayfarers grounds, we knew it was for us. It's as beautiful as everyone says and more -- it's a place that must be experienced: calm and serenity fills the air, and the small glass chapel makes for an intimate, engaging setting.
Yes, it's rather expensive and they will kick you out of there as soon as your two hours are up. But it's entirely worth it. The rate includes a wedding coordinator, who will coordinate your ceremony and determine the ceremony program. For an additional $350, you can elect the "candlelight" option, which includes candlelit sconces on the aisles and your choice of musicians: harpist, male or female vocalist, organist, and/or flutist (i think). We chose Dorothy Victor, the harpist, and who played beautiful music that we chose during a personal recital that she held for us two months prior. Dorothy is a consummate professional!
This was my first choice when we decided to get married. The church is exquisite. There are a few things to think about:
You only get one hour of use, which could be stressful because you have to make sure guests and ceremony are on time.
They book weddings every hour, so you have to be out of there when your hour is up.
Fits 100 people, not including wedding party
No photographer inside of church.
