Weck Events & Weddings

Weck Events & Weddings was exactly what I was looking for! Planning my wedding in Illinois all of the way from Florida was not the easiest to do. I was able to keep in touch with her about details mostly through e-mail. With the help of Ghillaine, my wedding reception was amazing! She helped me with the many details of my reception that I was uncertain about...colors, alternating centerpieces, and instead of having big bows on my chairs, Ghillaine had a special knot that she tied that looked great!! Thanks Ghillaine!

Our wedding reception was held at Hidden Lake Winery in Aviston, IL. Weck Events & Weddings was responsible for decorating the Champagne Hall. (This included table linens, chair covers and bows, centerpieces, the cake table and the sweetheart style table.) Ghillaine Parks-Weck really did make my dream reception a reality. She listened to my ideas, made suggestions based on her experience and even completed her work a day early. Everything was exactly as I wanted it to be.

Ghillaine was a pure pleasure to work with. She is not only friendly, but has excellent taste and could help me visualize my decorations. She also added her own little touch to empty spaces. After I dropped off my favors that I made, she decorated without me having to be there and I was confident that she would do an excellent job without my help. Everything was perfect and I would recommend Ghillaine and her team for any event. She surpassed my expectations.

Very helpful with decorating ideas and my invitations. Ghillaine spent alot of time going through binders of invitations with me until I found the perfect one. She was professional and prompt. I have suggested her to some of my friends who have weddings coming up because she was such a pleasure to work with.

I was disappointed with the results from having Weck decorate our wedding reception site. Things were not done the way we discussed, the centerpieces w/ candles weren't the containers we had discussed. We had talked about using colored tablecloth on at least I know for sure the sweetheart table(and I could've sworn on a few other key tables, but that I'm not completely positive about) I also thought we talked about the chairs at the sweetheart table being covered (that I could be off on too, it's been a while) The candy bar we did would've been great only issue was that I guess when there was not a good way to hang up the banner it was taped to the wall in a tacky looking way, when it would have seemed like a good idea to maybe not use it if it wasn't going to look right. The bridal party tables were supposed to have three vases in different sizes for the girl's bouquets, there was one missing and it looked pretty stupid. The other thing that was really I think pretty bad looking was that all the glass container throughout the place were so dirty and full of fingerprints.

On a positive note, the archway for the ceremony was beautiful and looked great. In dealing w/ Ghillaine she was always pleasant and friendly.

The reasons we decided to use someone for decorating was because I was coming from a long distance so I didn't have much time before the wedding to decorate. But more importantly, we aren't that good at decorating and wanted to have someone with a good eye help. I have to say I was disappointed, luckily I was more focused on the big picture that day to let the details ruin my day, but for many brides I'd imagine this would've been a huge problem.

Ghillaine is a remarkably talented and creative professional. I can always recommend her services to my clients because I can trust that she will do an amazing job!
