I found Cakes by Dawna Online, took a bit to schedule a time to meet but my wife sat down for the consultation and had a great time. Dawna and her people made it exactly to specification, tasted amazing, all the guests complimented us on the beauty and taste. Oh, and it was delivered right as promised.

The cake was lovely, just what we asked for. It arrived on time with no problems. The only thing to improve would be the cake itself. Not as good as the other dessert cakes served at our reception.

My wedding cake was perfect. I told Dawna that I didn't need an over-the-top cake, but that a few things were important to me: "funfetti" cake inside, NO fondant, just buttercream frosting, pink and gold on the outside, and I wanted a big bow wrapped around it. I had no problems working with Dawna. I still to this day get so many compliments on my cake when people look at my wedding photos. It was perfect.

She did awesome! And she provided a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it!

My wedding cake was SO GOOD! Her cakes not only look good, but taste good as well! She is a very busy women and is sometime hard to get a hold of. But, if you leave a message, she will ALWAYS call back.

I got my cake from Wedding Cakes by Dawna and it was AMAZING. Dawna met with me and helped me design the cake of my dreams. She had so many styles to choose from and was very flexible and knowledgeable about the style I wanted. I had a vintage wedding cake and on my actual wedding day I was even more impressed with how beautiful the cake was. It exceeded my expectations. She also made the most amazing cupcakes for my guests each with a sugar rose on each one. They were not only beautiful but they tasted so yummy. She even used these specialty cupcake liners I had never seen before. She had so many flavors to choose from, I can't decide which one was my favorite. My guests are still talking about how beautiful my cake and cupcakes were. I looked at several bakeries and Dawna's prices were so much lower than the other places I went. On the day of my wedding the cake was delivered on time and exactly as we had designed it. I would definitely recommend Dawna to anyone needing a wedding cake. Dawna makes incredibly beautiful cakes! She delivered on time, and was very professional. She is difficult to get a hold of though. Also, while her cake looked beautiful, it was really crumbly once cut. Overall though, worth the price.

Wouldn't suddgest them for anything. Overpriced. Never called back after we left a message. Day of the wedding wasn't sure if there was going to be a cake. Had to go over to her home, the day of the wedding to see if the cake was going to be there. The taste was nothing worth eating.

I loved my wedding cake! Everything was great with this vendor except she was hard to get a hold of and we had a miscommunication, but in the end it didn't matter because it turned out well!

I was disappointed with the level of service we received from Wedding Cakes by Dawna. Our initial meeting went very well however the service was down hill from there. She seems very overwhelmed and perhaps has taken on more clients than she can actually manage. Communication was impossible as she only has a answering line and takes sometimes a week or longer to return phone calls (even after several message being left). In addition, once details were finally communicated, she seemed to forget them. On the bright side, the wedding cake was delicious.

Dawna did such a wonderful job on our wedding cake. Not only was the cake beautiful, it tasted great and was a great value. We received many compliments on our wedding cake and were so pleased with it.

This woman went out of her way to accommodate me. I get the wedding cake I wanted at the right price, and it was gorgeous! Not to mention delicious! I had several people come up to me (including the photographer) and express their disbelief that the cake wasn't fondant. The variety of cake flavors surprised me, not to mention the fact that Dawna kept up with me and delivered the cake promptly with not problems. I'd highly recommend this woman if you're getting married in Utah.

I loved the cake that Dawna created for me. I had lots of different ideas and she pulled them all together beautifully. She did exactly what we discussed so it made for a beautiful and non-stressful experience. Also the cake isn't only beautiful, it is delicious!

I had an employee from wedding cakes by dawna do my own personal wedding cake and she did a fabulous job! it looked so great, I just wish i could've ate more of it on our wedding day!

Dawna was the only one that called me back. I guess the cake was pretty complicated because it cost more than I expected. But it was very beautiful. They brought the cake right on time and it was tasty!

WOW! I am STILL getting comments on our cake. We had Dawna make a sandcastle cake for our beach-themed wedding reception here in Utah and it was AMAZING. It tasted great, it was beautiful, and it had a lot of our personality in it. The day of the reception, she even ran into the decorator [Budget Wedding Rentals - amazing!!] and had some of the decor put on the cake display so everything matched - so cute!! I will definitely tell all my friends who are getting married to go to Dawna!! It was so so so good!!

I LOVED my wedding cake. Dawna was absolutely wonderful to work with, and produced a cake that was honestly one of my favorite parts of the wedding. Her prices were FANTASTIC. I looked into about four other cake vendors and no one could beat Dawna's quality and price. She made the cake exactly how I wanted- even matching the cake color to a little Tiffany blue swatch I gave her. She was on top of everything the day of the wedding, and NO STRESS was involved with this vendor at all. I LOVED working with her!

My cake looked beautiful. The only issue I had was that I asked for real flowers to be put on the top tier of my cake. Dawna had me order the flowers through my florist, and then she said she would attach them at the reception hall. She must have forgotten and not brought whatever she needed to attach the flowers because she stabbed the stems into the cake to set the flowers. It looked really nice but ruined the entire top layer of the cake. We had to throw it out.

We got more comments on our cake than anything else at the wedding! It was absolutely adorable! We couldn't be happier.

the cake we ordered was the color we wanted and the taste was really good and dawna did a great job setting up and taking down everything although we paid a lot for a cake.

my wedding cake looked at tasted great and Dawna was a very nice person to work with. However, i did spend a lot more than i wanted to on my cake. Make sure to go over everything before you put down a deposit.

For the quality, I think that you would be able to find a better deal else where. Also, she never called to confirm my wedding date, I could not get ahold of her, and ended up calling the city she lived in to get a hold of here. This was the night before my wedding! It was horrible.. in other words, GET HER EMERGENY CONTACT INFO JUST IN CASE! :]]]]

She was very helpful and cooperative. We had a specific design in mind and we knew what we wanted when we walked in and she was able to capture it and give us just what we wanted!

Dawna was great with working around a budget, and makes beautiful cakes. We're not big fans of fondant icings and her buttercream was so smooth you would think it was a fondant anyway!
We loved our cake and she did it for us on such short notice too!

Dawna was really accomodating. She made my cake the way I wanted it and was willing to adjust anything I needed. She also made sure that there were NO hidden charges what so ever, so that was really nice. I paid exactly what I expected to pay and it wasn't all that much. I got the original, beautiful cake I wanted for my wedding. And it tasted great too! Our reception hall told us that hers always taste the best, and I would agree. :)

From the moment we sat down for the consultation until the cake was placed on the table for the wedding we had nothing but fantastic experiences. The cake was beautiful! I went with her famous Fudge drizzle cake over a pale green butter cream frosting. It was everything we wanted and more.

I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a cake!

My cake didn't turn out what I wanted it to be exactly, which was a little disappointing, but she really does have a variety of beautiful cakes. my frosting was supposed to be a white buttercream frosting decorated with bright crimson/red frosting... but the red was almost purple/brownish. It still tasted good though, and it didn't look nearly as bad in the pictures as I thought it would afterward.

I used Wedding Cakes by Dawna because they were the recommended cake vendor by my reception site. I was overall pleased with the service I recieved. The cake wasn't 100% what I had wanted, due to miscommunication between the wedding planner and the cake vendor, but it still looked beautiful and tasted delicious. When I spoke with the vendor on the phone to place the order, the person I spoke with was very polite and courteous. Not knowing exactly how they made the cakes with the filling, etc, he was very polite in explaining the different ways they could make the cake, and offered up suggestions of flavors that would go well together. On the day of the wedding, the cake looked beautiful, and it didn't even melt in the hot June sun! It was also very delicious!

Expensive but worth it! Beautiful cake, and they came and boxed it all up at the end of the reception. Loved it!
