I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GETTING A WEDDING CAKE FROM WEDDING CAKES BY MICHAEL. I had a customer cake topper made for my cake. I dropped the topper off at Michaels one week before the wedding; sent an email to confirm my contact recieved. I never heard back from her. The cake topper NEVER made an appearance on the wedding cake. And I was not given an apology or an explanation as to how it was forgotten. And it took Cakes by Michael over two weeks to return the topper to me. They have absolutely no customer service!

We had our cake with a very simple design and focused on the variety of flavors that this confectioner has to offer. They did a great job on our cake and helped us to stay within our budget. The cake they delivered was fantastic and everyone loved it. It was moist, full of flavor, and beautiful. Thanks!

It is very difficult to get in touch with someone consistently. And for peace of mind in the days before your wedding you need to be able to be able to speak with someone. The contact person/manager was unpleasant, unprofessional, and unreasonable to deal with when mistakes were made. My cake was 2 hours late, not the right color, and neither was the color of the cake stand I rented. There are mistakes that happen because of carelessness and then there are mistakes that happen that are out of your control. Find a place that that will deem your day and your business as important and that will work with you with integrity should the "out of your control" mistakes occur.
The price is decent for the area. However, it isn't worth the headache.

We absolutely loved our cake. We could not find a picture of exactly what we were looking for, so at our meeting with the vendor, we described what we wanted. I do not know how it was done, but the day of our wedding the cake looked exactly as I had pictured in my dreams, and tasted DELICIOUS!

Wedding Cakes by Michael delivered a nice cake, but it was not the flavor we ordered! I could not believe when we cut into the cake and it had raspberry inside when we had ordered almond flavor. It was "okay," but I was stunned to see that the cake was not what we ordered. With the biggest smile on my face, I looked at my husband and we both knew it was not what we had wanted. HUGELY disappointed. Still, no one knew but the two of us, so we smiled and enjoyed it as if it had been what we ordered. There was nothing we could do at that point.
The cake looked lovely, but then again, the entire decoration was flowers on top, which was done by our florist. We were disappointed, and also frustrated by the lack of response to some of our emails closer to the wedding date.

We selected Wedding Cakes by Michael for our wedding and groom's cake by the tasting alone. When I had a hard time even getting a tasting appointment, that should have been my first clue that this company would be tough to work with. When the saleswoman was 30 minutes late to our tasting, that should have been my second. But she offered us a good deal, and promised the cake we wanted. Everything was fine until the last 3 weeks before the wedding, when I started emailing and calling, and got NO RESPONSE. Ever. I was calling to check when my final payment was due (not in the contract), and to confirm the delivery time. We finally got the owner/baker's son on the phone when we called for the 5th or 6th time a week before the wedding, and he confirmed that we would have cake--they were so unresponsive previously that I was starting to have visions of store-bought cupcakes instead of my beautiful cake. I did finally get an email response a couple of days before the wedding when they received our check. When the cake was finally delivered (late) on the wedding day, it seemed fine. The cherry blossom decoration I'd asked for was lovely. The pink fondant bow on top, which was broken in several pieces? Not so much. The groom's cake was also a problem, as we had sent a picture of the logo of my husband's alma mater, expecting them to decorate the cake accordingly. Instead, they screen printed the image on the top, but the coloring came out all wrong, so instead of red & black, we had orange and blue. Weird. The cake was ultimately very tasty, and that's all our guests cared about. We had a lot of cake leftover (didn't cut it till 10 p.m.), and I was disappointed to learn that they had only given us one flavor instead of two--we had expected tiramisu and carrot/apple, and all we had was carrot/apple. I suppose the top layer could be the tiramisu, but that's not what we wanted, and I won't find out till our anniversary, since we froze it. Overall, until this company can get their act together in terms of customer service, I'd suggest you go elsewhere.

This was, hands-down, the best wedding cake I have ever tasted--even if I do say so myself. It was so incredibly moist and supremely rich. They were extremely professional and gave me the wedding cake of my dreams. We ordered a three-layer cake with two flavors; tiramisu for the top layer and almond cake with hazelnut cream filling for the bottom two, yum! And unlike a few of the other cake places we went to, they provide a "dummy" layer, so our cake also looked taller and even more elegant.
As recently as last week, while at another wedding my husband and I were attending, a friend who had also attended our wedding told me how delicious our cake had been! Too bad the only taste we got during our wedding was during the cake cutting ceremony. But luckily for us, they provide a FREE Anniversary cake for couples to enjoy! Can't wait!

When I visited Cakes by Micheal, they brought out a beautiful, unique and delicious cake. That was not the cake that arrived at my wedding. I was irate. The cake was grocery-store quality, it tasted like I bought it at the Giant. Not only that, but it was different from what I had been shown-- it was an icing monstrosity-- my cake was supposed to be covered with fruit, there was no fruit. I was entirely disappointed. Thankfully, at least for the photos, it looked okay, however, it was not the cake I ordered. The "chant" of the evening became "they delivered the wrong cake." Mortifying.
What's worse, the bakery refused to discuss it with me afterward.

Wedding cakes by Michael provided an excellent cake. The cake that was served on the day of the wedding was even better than at the tasting. My only criticism was the difficulty we had getting in touch with the Cakes by Michael staff. We had left a few messages without receiving a response.

I had the speciality of the bakery--the tiramisu cake--and it was hands-down the best cake I've ever had. He doesn't use fondant on it, so the whole thing is very tasty. My fiancé is in the Navy and the baker made an cake in the shape of his submarine. It was so cute! It had fondant on it, which I don't like the taste of, but the chocolate cake inside was terrific! The cake was delivered on time and in great condition.

Cakes by Michaels has a good selection of custom filling. The price per slice is also reasonable and sometimes they actually are willing to bargain a bit. The payment options are good and delivery is prompt. I had a special wedding topper that I instructed was to be placed in the hands of my coordinator open cutting of the cake, they took very good care of it. They are open to customizing your cake to your desire; however, I was a bit disappointed in the size, I was told it would be larger than what it came out to be. The taste was good though.

I found Cakes by Michael through the internet. I met with them and loved the flavors that they offered for cakes and that they were willing to work with me and my ideal cake design. word of advice: I had to call several times to make sure they received my last payment for the cake, and I should have checked to make sure the order was correct. The day of the wedding, all layers of my cake were one flavor as supposed to 4 different ones. Never the less, the cake was great and you also get a complimentary anniversary cake!

I found the process of tasting and ordering the cake easy and about the same everywhere. However, I ordered a sheet cake in addition to my wedding cake. It was to be cut and served. However, it came in little doggie bags for guest to take home with them! I was so disappointed! The cake tasted "just okay."

Wedding cakes by michael provided me with a very tasty cake after a tasting with my mom and a separate tasting with my fiance. They did an excellent job with my custom decorations, following a drawing template. The only problem was that they droped the cake topper while they were putting it on the cake at the reception site. I would strongly recommend talking to the owner about getting their best delivery people, and if you're having a figurine topper make sure they have it at their site as well so they can apply fondant as necessary to the correct part of the cake. We had to take pictures VERY carefully as half of the decorations were ruined right before the reception started. I would also recommend making them deliver the cake to the reception site at the beginning of the ceremony, so they can fix and mishaps. The chef and the tasting hostess get top marks for professionalism and responsiveness, it's just their delivery people who kind of sucked that year.

I loved my cake! They were great to work with and I had not one problem... they did different cakes on each layer -as me and my hubby couldn't decide on what to get! IT was awesome..... Highly recommend the Tiramisu with the lady fingers- so elegant and different
