us to help us achieve the look we wanted for our
daughter's wedding reception! The wedding package included
everything!

The layout was great!! I food was yummy! Some of our guest wanted to leave so we moved some things up, like cutting the cake, and they were very flexable with the time.

We were hit with a lot of nickle and dime last-minute charges and it was an ordeal to get any definitive information out of some of the staff. The catering staff during the event were good; the food came out right on time and was pretty good, although the rice was overcooked. Hotel rooms were very comfy and clean and the guests had a good time, but it was just very frustrating to get the last minute details complete.

We got married on the outdoor terrace which was perfectly laid out. There were even tables and chairs placed out on the terrace for our reception and cocktail hour for our smoking guests. We had our reception inside the Ballroom and it was wonderful. I had arranged to come in and put up my own centerpieces and such, and everything was perfect and ready to go for me to get in and out the night before. The food was absolutely delicious and the perfect temperature, the wait staff was very professional. We did not have an open bar, and instead opted for a cash bar. My guests didn't use the cash bar offered, and instead went upstairs to the Hotel Bar because the drinks were cheaper. A couple of guests mentioned they would have liked more frequent refills but that was only a handful of people. We did have a little trouble securing rooms for our guests due to a communication issue with Mrs. Payne, but that did eventually resolve. We arranged to dress for the ceremony in two of the meeting rooms and they had equipped the rooms with ice, water, and coffee. We had also gotten a jacuzzi suite for the night of our wedding and it was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, and inviting. Ryan was our coordinator and he is phenomenal!

Doubletree Hotel made my wedding more than I could have ever hoped for! Everyone was VERY helpful throughout thelanning process and upon check in it seemed as though the whole hotel was at my disposal. I a, sure it was nothing like that, but every need I had was taken care of immediately. The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch and the food was excellent!,

The Promenade ballroom at the Doubletree is a beautiful reception venue. We were very grateful that the Doubletree was willing to work with us to create a custom catering package since we did not want an open bar. We were able to simply provide wine service during dinner, which was perfect. We only had two cons about the Doubletree. The first is that they say they will provide you with a free wedding night in one of their jacuzzi suites. We did spend our wedding night there but it did not have a jacuzzi and they made no effort to make our room seem special. They promised to bring my suitcase to the room and I had to call the front desk and ask them to locate it and bring it. The second is that they did not have enough waiters during our reception. I had roughly ~130 guests and 2 waiters so little things didn't get done like our water glasses weren't refilled. And they took a long time to cut our cake and pass it out. Other than those things, it was a beautiful night and our guests raved about the food. our compliments to the chef!

The DoubleTree in Charlottesville did a masterful job of providing a delicious morning after brunch, being flexible as to location due to the weather.

Overall I was very happy with the Doubletree. The hotel is beautiful, the food was delicious, the staff was attentive. Linda Winkler, the wedding coordinator, is very easy to work with and was very attentive. She was always willing to answer my many questions. It was also very easy to block off rooms for our guests here as well. Just be prepared to have to double-check everything. It took several tries for them to get all the details on our Banquet Order completely right. Then the actual weekend of the wedding, I went check on our welcome bags at the front desk the night before the wedding (after 90% of our guests had arrived) and the majority of the bags had not been given out. Also, I had included very clear, explicit directions on how I want various tables set up in the cocktail hour (place cards, guest books, etc.) and they completely disregarded what I wanted and did whatever they wanted with the tables. So I would just suggest assigning someone to periodically go and check on things throughout the weekend to make sure it's done to your specifications. In general, I was pleased with the Doubletree, I just wish I hadn't handed everything off to them a few days before the wedding and never had anyone go double-check on things.

The Doubletree Charlottesville Hotel was the perfect choice for hosing our wedding reception this year. They handled our block of guest rooms so that I didn't have to be involved with that aspect of the plans, there was a concert in town that weekend, which made lodging scarce however the Doubletree made every effort to accommodate all our guests.

We found the rooms to be lovely,the service superb and the overall atmosphere outstanding. When we walked into our reception on the day of our wedding we were amazed with how beautifully the hotel had executed our vision. Planning a wedding is a daunting task, however,the catering & wedding manager, Linda Winkler did an amazing job of helping me decide & finalize arrangements at the hotel. They had done everything we'd asked, going above & beyond our imagination.

My husband & I had high expectations for our wedding day, we insisted that everything be elegant, & our guests be well taken care of. The Doubletree delivered it all. The food was amazing, the staff extra attentive, & the overall atmosphere provided by the hotel decor was exactly what we'd hoped for. I would without hesitation recommend the Doubletree Hotel to any bride searching for a wedding venue...& frankly, for anyone looking for a hotel stay!

The Double Tree has a great facility for events. We've planned a number of charity gala's there and the layout for any type of reception is fabulous. Parking is no problem at the Doubletree the way it is at many other Charlottesville Hotels, and the staff is a pleasure to work with!
