Reverend George is Five-Stars all the way! He is an incredibly sweet man and a treasure to work with. He not only worked with our limited budget, but he allowed for me to write my own ceremony! The ceremony was the most important part of my day and he really made it special. I was very nervous and quite giggly, and he made me feel like a true princess. Reverend George lives quite a distance from our wedding venue and he happily drove not only to the ceremony, but also conducted our rehearsal the night before. I very highly recommend working with him.

He was great! We wanted a simple wedding, My children and they got a planner involved decorated the house with a 50's theme, walls, food dishes, guests dress atire, bridesmaids gowns were close enough, etc... My husband got word of this and refused to dress up... so he and his grooms man desided to NOT dress up for the occasion! My husband wore the most hidious outfit ever, one would think he came from the circus! Just look at the pictures. Then my grandson wore a tie dye shirt thinking he was Jimmy Hendricks or something....Ah what a scene.. the women all dresssed nicely and barefoot and the men ah we held everything we could not to laugh!!! It was so much fun! Rev. George was great! He stayed focused and laughed here and there, but professional the whole way, the most beautiful vows! If I ever hear anyone getting married again, I would suggest him! Rev. George, thank you for everything and putting up with our crazy family

I had the pleasure to witness a wedding this weekend with Reverend Geroge this weekend.

This was a very interesting wedding. The brides side was very casual, yet elegant (semi formal bridal gown, bridesmaide gowns) and bare foot. The grooms side was dressed very googy (the groom in a suit jacket, a snoopy "joe cool" t-shirt, a stripe tie, washed out hot pink shorts, snoopy socks and velcro tennis shoes) LOL the best man dressed well in kaki pants and a polo, the groomsman wore a very colorful tie die t shirt, baggie shorts, white socks, and white tennis shooes.. IT had to be the most funniest thing I had ever seen...

Reverend George laughed with all of us and remained very professional!

I enjoyed how he gets in the heart of his couples!

I will recommend his services many times again, and again!

Greetings from Rev. George Herzog. Thank you for your inquiry into my minister/officiant services.

Please refer to my website, if you have not already, at www.revgeorgeherzog.com. I am an ordained interfaith minister, and have officiated hundreds of ceremonies for the past 14 years.
You will see a description of my approach, which will give you a good idea of my flexibility with couples so you can know if we would be a good match for each other. A spiritual, meaningful and romantic sermon followed by a traditional or contemporary ceremony, is my usual approach, but every aspect of the final ceremony will be according to your wishes. This may or may not include any religion(s) in the manner and degree that you request. I am very comfortable with spiritual, non-denominational, and multi-cultural approaches to wedding ceremonies.

My fee is varied, from $350-500,depending on each individual situation and amount of preparation However. This fee covers a complete assortment of necessary services. I require a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve the date and time; the balance is due when I arrive at the ceremony.

My service includes a thorough assortment of preparation; a free phone consultation, free meeting in person to decide if we are right for each other, all help in creating the ceremony, all info, handling, and mailing of the marriage license, all email and phone contact, all planning, familiarity, and coordination of the ceremony with the professionals, friends, and family that are involved. Finally, but not least, the guarantee of a heartfelt, clearly delivered and organized ceremony that you and your guests will treasure.

What officiant services do you provide?

Civil Union, Interfaith Ceremony, Non-religious Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony

What religious affiliations do you serve?

Agnostic, Buddhist, Christian (no denomination), Christian - Catholic, Christian - Quaker, Hindu, Jewish, Shinto, Taoist

Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?

Yes. I have officiated at dozens of homes, parks, gardens, catering halls, cruise ships, resorts, and many more

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?

Yes, there will be no wording in the vows that you do not want there. This is your ceremony and I am at your service.

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?

Absolutely, yes. This obviously adds more originality and messages from the heart that really speak for you.

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?

No. I have a few readings available and suggestions for where to find some, but it is not mandatory.

Do you require that premarital counseling be done?

No. I will gladly counsel upon request. My degree is MSC (Minister of Spiritual Counseling), but it is not mandatory.

Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?

Yes, but there is usually an extra reasonable fee if the rehearsal is on a differet day. Same day rehearsal is included in my service fee.

Additional Advice

Find a minister who you can relate to and vice versa. You should feel comfortable, casual, even friendly once you meet. Then be sure he/she is willing to and capable of working with you, taking your wishes, offering his suggestions and experience, and ending up with your perfect ceremony, word for word, and heart to heart. Also, bring up any concerns (about yourselves, family members, religion, sprituality) that concern you. The minister has come across this many times and can ease any worries.
